Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine at Saints

In January, St. Anthony Hospital hosted their 11th annual Celebrity Chef event, and I was honored to be there to capture some photos for the hospital. This is my fourth year working with them, and the first year hosting it in the hospital’s brand new Rapp Center.

It was my first time meeting Robert in person, and he is most definitely larger than life! Besides the fact that his arms about the size of my legs, his personality just filled the room and commanded everyone’s attention. He had doctors, lawyers and other professionals standing with their hands over their heads, hollering, jumping around like monkeys (seriously!) and having a great time.

Seriously… check out those guns!

Robert loves kids, and took a few opportunities to let kids come up to help him cook.

Caden: Newborn

Has it been too long since you cuddled a newborn, or smelled that sweet newborn baby smell? If you “Ooooh!” and “Aaaaah!” over newborns, I think you’re going to love this post!

Caden was born just a few weeks ago to our good friends, Colby & Amanda, and we were honored to photograph him for his newborn session as we did for his older brother and sister.

Congratulations, Amanda & Colby! He’s perfect, and we were honored to be there again for y’all!

Chelsea & Brad’s Wedding

Sally & Todd’s Wedding

Chelsea & Mike’s Engagement

Chelsea lives in Boston (studying at Harvard), but over the holidays, we were able to get together and photograph her with her fiancee, Mike. They like to goof off about as much as I do, so I really enjoyed spending the time with them and can’t wait for their wedding in April!

They had so many great photos, as photogenic and fun as they are, that I had trouble narrowing down my favorites to fewer than 20.

Congratulations on your engagement, Chelsea & Mike! I loved hearing the story of the proposal, and can’t wait to capture the beauty, fun and moments of your wedding!

The Muckala Family

Another session to share with you already! It’s definitely busy season. I think I’m going to be editing and playing catchup through the end of December, and designing wedding albums through February!

Took me several minutes of Googling to find the correct usage, and I’m still not 100% sure I’m grammatically correct! They’re both doctors, so I couldn’t just say “Dr.,” nor was just “Mrs.” adequate.

So, I’m a bit obsessive about proper grammer and usage. =) Bet you didn’t know that, considering that I do let slip the occasional typo.

The Dean Siblings

One great way to help split up the cost of family portraits is to have your extended family join you! We don’t charge extra for extended family photo shoots, which is pretty unusual for our industry, so we see a lot of families and siblings come with their grandparents, cousins, etc., especially this time of year.

Here are a few of our favorites from one such session we did for the Dean siblings as a gift for their parents.

The Beard Family

Is it just me, or are the Oklahoma meteorologists / weathermen having trouble accurately forecasting weather this Fall? With 0% chance of precipitation, and Gary England calling for sunny skies, we met the Beard family downtown to find it not only completely clouded over, but also misty and drizzling! So, after a little brainstorming, we decided to call it off and reschedule, fingers crossed for nicer weather the next week.

That’s never an easy decision, knowing how much time and effort goes into prepping an entire family with three kids for family pictures. Rescheduling doesn’t happen often, but when it’s absolutely necessary, it helps to be flexible and go with it. Typically, the weather pros help us make that decision 3 or 4 hour before (at the latest), but this day we got blindsided. The Beards were great about the inconvenience, and we’re always grateful to work with such nice, understanding people!

Fast forward a week, and thankfully we did have some nicer weather! Here are our favorites from the afternoon…
