To be precise; it been Six years, Two months, and Six days since I planted a seed to write about blogging. The journey started from a free blogspot blog. In its early stage, I do remember, once somebody left a comment sarcastically that why dont you take benefits of it then in response of my post regarding benefits of having custom domains. I didn't have the money then, and also wanted to grow my site on its own without even investing a cent from my pocket. So, I replied, wait and watch we are in progress.

And things started getting into place. I received link placement offer for $10 in one of already published post. This helped in taking one more step ahead by giving an identity to this blog of domain ProBloggersTrick.com. And then journey kept going on for couple more years, including rebranding to Bloggeristan.com, and helping strangers for nothing in return, as I didn't monetize it again and never sold any kind of links again. As I was doing good on my other sites so I didn't felt any need to squeeze money from something of which I was emotionally attached.

It felt so awesome seeing couple hundred people visiting blog each day, hoping they are getting benefited. And then seeing people complimenting, subscribing, interacting, or asking queries were the most immense pleasures I got from here.

Later I got very much busy and stopped posting other than random 2-3 posts a year. But, kept responding to people and solving problem in person free of cost even when they offered or asked for it.

Its been a month now, I have failed to protect the identity of this blogspot blog which it has earned. In short, for some reason I didn't focus online since couple months or half year or even way more. Especially in most recent couple months. I saw an email notification of Bloggeristan.com domain expiring, but didn't acted immediately and then forgot about it. Exactly after 30 days when I was checking emails I saw it, and then contacted my registrar. But he said it has been deleted and is now in process of going towards its new owner as someone has backordered it during expiration time period.

Later found out that it has been taken by someone with whom I have been in contact via Bloggeristan facebook fan page. So I sent him a message enquiring, but he refused. Below I'm attaching my conversation with him.

Still now, this guy has nothing to be blamed. The mistake was mine, I didn't take care of the seed I planted. And it is once again standing where it started its journey. It has lost its identity, I lost a domain with whom I was attached emotionally. Haha, who knows my emotional connections with my domains better than Junaid Akbar, a gentlemen, one of earliest subscriber, and a very good friend I got as a gift from this same blog.

I'm not sure either to come up with new domain name or just make this blogspot great again.

But hopefully, in coming days I will come up with a plan to make it active and helpful again. Btw as a hint, along blogging, I'm planning to share my other experience of making money online and as being an investor and trader in stock exchange. Will also share updates on my coming and under progress online and offline projects as well. Insha'Allah

How I Solved 500 error in Wordpress After Editing PHP File

I have recently trying to use JavaScript inside wordpress post by simply editing post but failed to make it work. Decided to use apply some jQuery from Stack Overflow in php file, in a hope it may work. The moment I posted it in extras.php, and clicked on update file button, my whole website starts giving 500 Error.

Very soon I realised its giving 500 error because of editing php file, because my other website on same server is working fine. To get this problem solve, I contacted my hosting provider (a kind of friend) on facebook, but he was outside and ensure me that he will fix it in couple hours when he will be back to home.

So, I headed towards google with my query, and got hints that it can also be fixed using backup. But when I accessed cpanel I didn't find any backup. But in a hope that there should be some place where that corrupt extras.php should be available. So, I accessed File Manager from cPanel. And found extras.php file from public_html >> yourdomain.com >> wp-content >> themes >> Fashionistas (current theme your website is using) >> inc >> extras.php. Then simple right click on extras.php to edit it and replace the addition you made right before getting 500 Error and then click on Save Changes. Thats it. Now Your site should be working fine. Look below screenshot for better understanding of steps I followed.

I Win Bet of Google Ads Optimization To Improve Performance

Good day, hope you all doing great. Few days back I received a notification under Optimization tab in Google Adsense that one of my link ad unit needs an optimization in order to improve its performance. I mostly avoid that kind of recommendation because by experience I'm aware of my audience and niches that what kind ads perform best. But this time I decided to give it a try because I noticed there is an option of "Run Experiment" right next to the notification.

So Finally, I decided to run an experiment based on their optimization tip; which says your link unit border has to be have the same color as of its background color for better performance. I found it so simple to create. You just have to click on Run Experiment and then Google Adsense will initiate it itself.

The experiment ran for 3 days, and during all that time, I thought may be the border color isn't making any difference thats why its taking so long. But I was wrong, after gathering 36 thousand ad impressions, Google Adsesne jury made an announcement with 100% confidence that I was right. My original link unit ad was chosen as winner over there recommended ad unit with variation in border color. YEAHHH!!!! :D

As you can see in above screenshot, because of the changes they recommended the RPM decreased by 22%, Quality Score over 40%, and the overall performance decreased by 61%. And thats huge.

So, the conclusion of this interesting story is to be confident on what you are doing. Especially, don't get confuse and apply experiments when your site is getting tons of traffic for a very limited duration like for few hours or 4-5 days as we observe during events or when posts goes viral on social media, etc. Mine website was kind of small semi seasonal, so it didn't make much difference, but, if you will do the math, it still costed me $4.872 USD because of drop in RPM. Over to you!

.PW tld Domain Good for SEO - Say Na Na Atleast for Now!

Is .pw domain good for SEO. Does Google treat .pw tld as same as .com, .net, .co, info, .org, etc. in search results?

Hello, recently I have gone through some experience, which I thought very worth to share with you, and thats what which bring me back to this site after years of gap. So here is the scene.

Few days back I bought few .pw tlds for my new projects. All were exact match keywords rich domains and I was feeling very lucky to have them. Because on behalf of my seo experience I was sure enough to dominate my niche real quick by having specially like that keyword rich domain (P.S: I'm already in that niche with my two sites, so very well aware of the efforts aka the game needed to play to come on top). Back to the scene, the same day I put some high quality content on my first .pw tld domain. And then made it submit in Google Webmaste Tools, its sitemap, and fetched it also. In few minutes the homepage url got indexed in Google search. Happy Again (Smile emoticon)!

In other couple of days I put lot of content on it, if I tell you exactly, I put 130 pages of good quality content on site, and fetched every page also. But what I realize during these couple of days that my new pages urls are not getting index in Google. Thats something which was new for me in my years of SEO journey. I also pinged my pages. But no result. Only a total of 11 page urls got listed in Google search after multiple tries of fetching, pinging, submitting in Google index, and wait of multiple days. Then after few days Google started kicking those indexed urls out from search and they fall back to 8, only. But, in real only 6 pages appeared in serp by using pages content as query in commas.

So, I headed towards Google webmasters dashboard to see any errors in Structured data, or any notification in html improvements section. Found everything perfect. Then in sitemaps section I observed something very strange. Sitemap got a problem in indexing..

As my other similar sites on other tlds, .pw one was also has same atom feed, and same structure. But in Sitemap section, Google is not realizing or picking up what type of feed is it, Processed column was still in pending, neither realizing items kind and nor number of submitted items in feed, except the one (of which I failed to realize why). I resubmitted my sitemap and waited a day but got same problem. Look at the below screenschot to know excatly what I'm talking about. Although, look at the second screenshot which is of my one other site on .com tld but in similar niche and with same site structure, and know how .pw one is expected to be.

Then later to make things more clear, I decided to make live my other .pw tld domain with its on unique hight quality content but in different niche (but not new for me, already dominating first positions on main keywords with another .com gear). I also dressed it with my another theme to know if there is any issue with theme. As usual homepage got indexed in less than hour. So I moved to sitemap and tried to submit but same shit. Google webmaster tools is not realizing or accepting its sitemap.

So, in curiosity, I decided to launch my .com site with exactly same theme as my first .pw tld domain but with different content on homepage, and for pages I used the not-yet-indexed content which I published on my first .pw tld site. Site with its pages got indexed as usual, and it sitemap also got accepted by Google webmaster tool. See yourself below in screenshot.

So things started getting clear, how Google is trreating .pw tld, aka the Professional Web. So in curiosity I was exploring every function of webmaster tools to get any clue what I'm missing. Then I got the most awaited clue, aka kind of MVP :v (Silly cracking emoticon). Hahaha, my eyes got wet, mouth got spread as about to smile, ensuring me the hard work I put in my these project, the money I throw to get handful of new .pw domains, the efforts and days I put to explore what causing the trouble, all got almost wasted. Google was treating .pw tld same as we hear in stories about stepfathers cruelty, lol. Google even don't let you set the crawl rate for pw site via site settings in webmasters section. See the screenshot below for more details.

So my dear, this is Google, aka Uturn. Not sure why they do mostly go opposite of what they brag in front. I bought domains after a recent detailed news of John Mueller giving Google faqs for treating new tlds in search.

So, yeah. Thats my experience with .pw tld. I may go for a few days wait before making .pw tlds redirect on any .com, .net, .info, .org, etc. Btw, I also got some experience with .xyz domains and they all performed good in Google search (not in bing and yahoo). So, its very difficult to tell what new tlds are performing well in Google serp. So be sure to test the waters before throwing big money or efforts.

It may also possible that I'm still missing something or misinterpreting. So, please share your thoughts and experience if any with .pw or any other new tlds / gtlds. Have a Good day!

Update 1: After wait of two more days, Google kicked out more urls now, the indexed urls according to Google are only 5, while the searchable ones with exact content dropped to two. Update 2: I have bought the same domain but in .org version, as .com is not available. Its completely new, will make it live soon with same content, and will hopefully update this post as well.

Blogger has made a new addition of Campaigns in left sidebar in blogger blog dashboard. Clearly, intention seems to introduce Google Adwords service to all blogspot users and make them aware about Adwords use to increase targeted audience by paying for advertisements.

On clicking Campaign in blogger, for new users they have explained Google Adwords in 3 steps;

Good News - Google Authorship Image Starts Showing Up Again In Serp

Hello everyone, this is quick post, kind of BREAKING News. The news is Google authorship photo starts showing up once again in search results. Exactly 5 months back On 20th December 2013, authors image of many people suddenly stopped showing in search along some of their websites. So, in a post I threw light on three possible reasons that why image of many authors has stopped showing in Google search rich snippets. Then we saw weight in a possibility that this might be happened because of any Google update (like; site-wide Google Authorship Penalty).

But now, I'm pretty damn sure, that creepy thing happened to many bloggers because of any kind of Google update. And exactly, after 5 months, on 21st May 2014, the rich snippets with author photos are back in search results.

Now I have checked on my sites, Google showing it perfectly even on my hardly seven days old site too. To ensure is this back only for me or for all, I checked rich snippets of every buddy who did comment on my previous post. And the good thing is that the author image is showing up in search for all authors.

So, congratulations boys; +Renz Kristofer Cheng, +Suresh KP, +Muhammad Kamran, +Tom Crandall :)

Seriously, I don't have any idea about Google's intentions, when on 20th December 2013 they hide authorships and today when they make authorship visible again for everyone exactly after 5 months. This ⇓ is especially for you, Google!

How To Place Two Adsense Ads Side By Side - Is it Allow

Learn How to place two adsense ad units side by side in Blogger or Wordpress. Is it okay and, does it will violate Google AdSense Policies?

When it comes to monetize website blog via Adsense, everyone become very cautious and hopeful to turn his traffic into money. But, then the Adsense publisher starts thinking that he is not Squeezing the right amount from his potential traffic because of getting expected CTR (click through rate). You usually in such scenario everyone wants to place ads in the best places where the chances were high to get ads clicked. And one of the most common best position to place ads and a practice followed by many popular sites is to put ads just right after post title. The another best place to get highest CTR is after the first para. And to maximize the chances to get ads clicked you can place two ads side by side, as shown in following screenshot;

Well, placing both codes right after another is not a solution, and by this way both ads will appear vertically instead of horizontal. To show ads side by side in a horizontal way there are two possible ways to do, first one is by using table and, the second way is by use of floating divs. So lets start by assuming, you already aware to show ads on desired position.

1. Simple Table Method

In this method we will create simple table of one row with two columns. Now, simply you just have to copy / paste the following piece of table in your table in your sidebar widget or any of your other desired place, just make sure to replace ad-code with the exact ad code you recieved from your ad network.

Here, tr is used for rows and, td for columns. So, in case you want to show 3 ad units side by side, then simply add one more <td> element along its closing tag, same like following code;

That's it, no complication at all. To make space in between ads, replace the following code with below one;

In this method we will use div to keep chunk of code on place, adn then via CSS we will assign a floating property. This method is recommend and much better than tables, because it also works in responsive templates / themes and on reducing screen size than the combined the length of both ad units, ad units will move to vertical up and down straight from horizontal side by side. Just copy / paste the following code to your desired position.

Now replace ad-code with your adsense code script and then hit save button.

Is Using Two AdSense Ads Side by Side is Against Google Policies?

No, it is not against Google policies to align two adsense ads side by side. Gracey, a senior top contributor in Google AdSense Forums has confirmed it too, that; 'You can put two ad units side by side. Frankly though, two large ads side by side is overkill and tends to make sites look like "ad-spam".' But she also added very important thing that, placing ads below post titles that push content below the fold to increase chances of misleading clicks will come into AdSense policy violation.

So, be cautious before applying your adsense ads in your blog, though we don't owe responsibility of any kind of issue you get because of ad placement. Be smart, be careful, over to You!

Bloggeristan's Alexa Dropped and Alexa Got New Design - Congrats

Alexa, a ranking used by many to scale any website's popularity, still in 2014 an important gear to audit any site to estimate its worth either for advertisement purpose like for banner ads or for sponsored posts, even alexa ranking puts big weightage in website flipping, many times. Well this time I guess Bloggeristan is in a way to dominate this ranking system.

Long story short, Bloggeristan has now jumped and joined a 100K Alexa club. As some of you already know that after an absence of more than a year, after rebranding I'm trying to pull some time to restart posting on Bloggeristan by writing especially in blogger niche, SEO and little about internet marketing, but purely based on my own experience. So, just by posting dozen of posts and couple of months today when I go to Alexa.com to check ranking I noticed two different things. The first one is, Bloggeristan's alexa dropped to 80k. According to Alexa, our rank is up 438,814 versus the previous 3 months.

So, Congrats Everybody, as well the credit goes to every visitor.

Well the 2nd thing that I observe, is that Alexa is going to release a newer version of their design, very soon. You can check in preview mode start using it right now before its release. Well, despite of cool design, I didn't observe any addition, at least not in Site's overview data.

So What's Next? Well, personally I don't give much importance to Alexa rankings, because I think it is overrated service. But if you are in niche where your site monetization depends on kind of advertisers that give importance to Alexa stats, then you should need to take care of Alexa rankings, and need to follow the tips recommended by many bloggers; like placing Alexa widgets, installing alexa toolbar and suggest visitors to install it too, etc. If the plans will be executed as I planned than, I'm much sure that in the next two months Bloggeristan will cover all the basic guides that can be required by any blogger in any niche from noob to pro. And I hope Alexa will also dropped too, something less than 10K. And Yes, we all will make this possible. Yes I Can - Yes We Can, InshaALLAH!

How To 301 Redirect Blogger To Blogger Blog - Domain or URL

Get know How to redirect blogger blog to another blogger custom domain or url, SEO friendly. And is it possible to set 301 redirects in blogger to pass link juice. Is redirect will decrease blog traffic?

Probably, you have heard many times by fellows in Blogging industry that Blogger is not for professionals with bigger approach. One of the reason on top of the list is that they claim Blogger is not SEO friendly at all. And I partially agree with all that, because I guess doing SEO in Blogger is little hard but not impossible. Why to Redirect Blogger Blog To Another Blogger?

There could be many reasons of doing so. For example;
1. You decided to change your blog identity / domain, and bought a new custom domain and set it on blogger, and then want to set redirect to point visitors on new domain instead of old one.
2. Have an intention to merge other blogger blogs content under one domain.
3. To pass link juices / page rank to your new domains to rank well in search engine results either for long term or temporary basis, and can be used to game Google.

Types of Redirects?

It is necessary to understand about redirects before taking action to avoid any possible loss in ranking and traffic. There are two most common types of redirects;

1. 301 Redirect:

A 301 redirect is also known as permanent redirect which is used to tell search engines bots that the existing page has been moved to the new location (page url), so that they can shift all the credibility and link juices of an old link to the new link to make sure minimal loss of ranking in serp.

2. 302 Redirect:

302 redirect is a temporary redirect used to tell bots that this page is still exist on its original location but, because of any reason we are redirecting our user temporarily to the new location so kindly do not pass link juice and do not remove our previous page from search results. You can use 302 redirect in case your specific page is under construction or want to introduce your new service to visitors.

Ways to redirect Blogger To Another Blog?

Till now, Blogger has not released any settings for users to make redirects on Domain level. They might be already aware of risks that how massively it can be used by SEO's to manipulate rankings, because normally, setting a domain to domain redirect is quite rare.

Well still there are a total of three possible ways which we can use to redirect traffic from one custom domain to another custom hosted on blogger.

Meta Redirect:

It is one of most common way used for redirection. What it does, by placing in head field, every time when a visitor will come this meta redirect will refresh the page after defined time (a minimum of one second) and then will redirect that visitor to a destination page. As a destination you can set any page, either homepage or any other specific blog post.

How to Use Meta Redirect?

To use meta redirect in blogger blogs, after login to blogger dashboard, go to Template and then to Edit HTML. Now just in the next line after <head> tag in your template paste following piece of code,

<meta content='5;url=http://www.bloggeristan.com' http-equiv='refresh'/>

After that simply replace bloggeristan.com by your desired destination url on which visitors will automatically redirect after five seconds.

Drawbacks of Meta Redirect

Meta redirects are also know as soft redirects. They generally do great job to redirect traffic to the destination url. And if you are thinking that does meta redirect pass link juice? Then the answer is Yes and Not both. By multiple experiments I have observed that Yes they pass little link juice to the destination url but not immediately. Roughly 2 days after the application of meta refresh in head tag Google will start preferring the destination url and will also show in search results instead of the older one, as same happened in 301 redirect. But it is confirmed that meta redirects or javascript redirects are not 301 redirects and nor 302 redirects, and I confirmed it via Google's webmaster section also.

Now in order to pass the link juice too, you need to be little creative. The super secret I'm going to public here which I used to ensure all link juice should pass to the new url is by use of canonical tag. Yeah, it also has been confirmed by many authorities including MOZ that rel="canonical" pass link juice of the same amount as much 301 redirect can pass.

Canonical tag is generally used to avoid duplicate content. For example you have two different blog posts with quite similar or even same content, and you are scared that Google's Panda police can knock your door (LOL) because of duplicate content, but on the other side you also don't want to delete none of the post because both posts content has little different but useful content with referral traffic; like from social networks. In such scenario the only option that left to you is use of rel="canonical tag". By use of canonical Google will pass the link juice of older domain / url to the destination url / blog, and will remove the old domain or blog post from search results. So, think atleast twice before placing a rel="canonical" tag in your head section because once Google deindexed / removed your content from search results, than you know how much it is difficult and time consuming to rank it again.

To place canonical tag in order to redirect blogger blog to another blogger blog or custom domain or to any other special post, just repeat the process as followed earlier, and from Template > Edit Html > paste the following piece of code below <head>, and then hit save button.

Replace bloggeristan.com with your desired URL. One thing more, I also observed that Google also don't respond immediately on canonical tags to pass link juices as they in 301 redirects, but atleast it passes the link juice.

Edit 1: In Blogger for cross domain fast redirection you can also use JavaScript method. Just below <head> tag paste the following script.

Edit 2: I have made some modifications in the JS redirect in 'Edit 1'. Now, this JS will redirect visitors to the same location / path or to same page of new domain. Like, you will be redirected to newblog.com/p/same-page.html from oldblog.com/p/same-page.html.

Redirect, SERP Ranking and Blog Traffic

The most common thing that scare especially blogger users while setting redirects for their domains that, does by placing redirects to another domain I will loose any ranking and traffic? The answer is Yes. Yes, you will loose some ranking and obviously some traffic too, but potentially in a week Google will reinstate your new blog to early position of your older url in search results.

Google Adsense And April Fools Day 2014

Yesterday, it was April fool's day. I'm sure you already know about this creepy day. Well personally, I really don't show any respect for this useless day. Well, on the other side many bloggers used that day to make some solid bucks by using April Fools Day supporters; the people across the world who celebrated this event by making there loved ones Fool (#heightofidiotness), LOL.

Btw the thing that make me little laugh on April fools day was it that even Google could not stop itself to make a little fun with their Adsense publishers. Yesterday, when I did login to my Adsense account to get a look on some stats, a planet welcome me below fold. Yup, that graphical data was showing that how much I made from different planets and moons :p. Well, immediately I realize that today is 1st April 2014, and Google want to make some fun with Publishers by replacing countries with moons and planets.

How to Change Color of Specific HyperLink

In case you are interested to apply different color schemes on links within specfic sections forexample, Sidebar, any specific widget, footer links, post links, etc. then, you need to be little designer :P . The method is quite simple, you just need to mention the CLASS or an ID of that specific section before writing css code for link. For example, if I need to change the color of links only within blog post body (Bloggeristan) then I need to add following lines in Add CSS box.

There is another awesome way to make any post noindex straight from its editor section. For that you need to enable custom header tags in blogger. So, go to site dashboard > Search preferences > Crawlers and Indexing > After clicking on Edit link make custom header tags enable by placing check on Yes radio option. After that mark check on noindex under archive and search pages section first line and, hit save changes button.

In WordPress self hosted blogs users can make blog posts images not clickable by removing source link from click image > edit image > Advanced image settings. Whereas in Blogger blog posts there is no such option available by default. So, to make any image unclickable in blogger blog posts you have to remove the hyperlink of that specific image.

For doing so first you need to go in HTML version of blog post.
Then press ctrl+f and search for "<img " attribute.

Now the question comes, Is there any disadvantage(s) of using clickable images in blogger blog post? Well there is not any significant disadvantage of doing so. But when it comes to competition in Google search results, I consider each and every single aspect that can have any kind of effect in rankings. The only disadvantage I found in blogger blog images is that, as they are hosted on Google's domains so we have to mention the specific url on via src attribute where image is exactly hosted. And through this link our site pass link juices to the image link in the form of pagerank and authority. And it is not possible to make that image link nofollow to stop passing trust.

By the way many people also believes that via image hotlink no link juice flow occur. But if the image is hyperlinked (clickable) and you haven't mentioned any nofollow tag then it will must pass link trust. And by giving many dofollow outbound links you will for sure lose some rankings and link juice.

One more thing I would like to add their, giving two or three dofollow backlinks from a page of around thousand words does not reflect any bad effect on your rankings. How To Deindex Website From Google in 5 Hours

In the following post I'm going to tell you my own experience How I deindexed my website from Google in a short span of time of not more than five hours. Yup, it may sound bit strange for some folks that why somebody want to deindex website from Google though on the other side indexing website or posts is a big headache for some folks.

The website which I completely deindexed from Google was hardly only 18 days old (created on 22 January 2014). Yup, that was a one page niche website ranked on number 14 and number 19 positions in Google's all major search pages of .uk, .com, .pk and on .in. The keywords (2) on which my site was ranked have a combined monthly searches of 94,900 (only in United States) according Google Adword Keyword Planner. These ranking in such a short time of only few couple of weeks become possible by a very powerful strategy I followed for both on-page of off page SEO.

Six day ago I decided to test my luck with one new niche website to cover an upcoming event. So, I picked up two keywords of combined monthly searches of 417K (in United States). After two days hard work I completed an article for it and make my new website live for public and for search engines. Three days after publishing an article when I copy paste some words from new website to check either Google index it or not I get shocked after seeing results. Because instead of my new niche website I was seeing my 18 days old niche website (which was already ranked on its own keywords) on first place in search results. Oh wtf!. Soon I realized my terrible mistake. I just mistakenly forget and pressed save button in a widget of old blogspot blog during testing that how my new content will look and adjust in a widget after adding customization same like previous website in preview mode. This stupidity put me in state of anxiety because I could not afford anymore time to write another content for new website again. So finally after some hassle I decided to deindex my old website. Because the new website monthly searches are almost 4 times more than old one otherwise, Google would consider my 2nd website content as plagiarized and obviously after that it will not get rank on top. Finally following are the steps which I followed to deindex my website completely from Google for few days till my new nice one page site get index by Google with its content.

Steps To Deindex Site Completely From Google

1. Blog Settings

First of all I go to blogger because its a blogspot domain, after that from blog settings > basic > Privay - click on edit and then mark check on 2nd line 2nd option to not allow search engines to find your blog. After that tap on Save Changes button.

2. Google Webpage Removal Tool

After that I go to Google webmaster tools to not even deindex post but also to remove its cache page from Google search. For that I go to site dashboard > Click on Google Index from left sidebar > And then I select Remove URLs from drop down. After that I clicked on create a new removal request button from right section and then paste the 2nd part of url (after .tld/) of post in field in the url-input field, the post which I placed as static on my website homepage. And then click on continue button. Then I proceeded to the next page where I got three different url removal options:

Remove page from search results and cache
Remove page from cache only
Remove directory

I go with the first option and then did a click on submit request button for complete url removal submission. And then I repeat the same process by submitting new removal request but with blank field. But keep in mind the complete domain removal with all instances via webmaster tools is temporary (approximately for 3 month). For permanent complete content removal you must need to block website via robots.txt.

3. Deindex Site From Google and Other Search Engines Via Robots.Txt File

So, again I go back to my blogger blog dashboard > search preferences > from Crawlers and indexing section I enable custom robots.txt content. And then I copy paste following code in the field to not allow bots of all search engines especially of Google to crawl my site pages anymore in future. After all hit save changes button.

User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow: /

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

Keep in mind that do not use empty disallow " disallow: ", because it means disallow nothing from this domain.

4. Make Website NoIndex Via Meta Tags

Now here is the last and one of the most effective step is to apply a meta robots noindex tag throughout the site. Once again i go to blogger blog dashboard > Template > Edit HTML > and then jsut below <head> line I placed this piece of code to shut the all search engines out from indexing and crawling my entire site.

<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">

And then finally click on save template button.

In last after applying all methods to remove site from search results I finally used a fetch as Google service and submit my domain url with all linked pages. I did this to send Google bots on website to crawl so that they can quickly find that this site is now de-indexed by various methods. After submitting url to fetch it, tool will show success in results but, when you see the same url after few hours the word success with green mark should turned into Denied by robots.txt with yellow mark if everything worked properly.

Then I go to my bed to take some sleep because in the early morning just after 5 hours I have to go university for some documentation and industrial visits. After about 4.5 hours before leaving to catch the bus for university I open my machine to check my site's status, a kind of slightly devilish smile appeared on my face after seeing the website which I ranked with a lot of hard work is finally deindexed by myself just because of my small mistake.

I confirmed my website removal from search engines especially Google by typing the exact url in search field and I didn't saw any result from my site. Btw as second proof I saw a severe health issues icons in webmaster tools rich snippet.

After 2-3 days, from site's webmaster tools dashboard overview, I witnessed there was a big significant drop in search queries graph. Look at the following screenshot:

In last I would like to make clear one more thing that I can not guarantee that after how much time Google will stop indexing your site. Because time required for a complete website removal from search results also depends on the size of website (number of indexed pages, etc.). But I'm quite much sure I you will follow all the steps mentioned above to remove site from google index and search results of all search engines then I'm quite sure It will not take a time more than a day, no matter how many pages your website has.

Malware Warnings, Bloggers, MADads Media, Nuclear Reaction - How To

Hey Everybody I'm back (Now I'm tired by giving excuses every time for my months long absence So, Don't expect it at least any more in this post, lol). Anyway, during this month's absence I got a total of three or four offers from companies to write an honest reviews about them. And I promised them to share my thoughts on their products after test soon in February. But today's post is not an on demand review. The today's post covers MadAds Media Review and a real story that just happened in which thousands of websites got malwared like a nuclear chain reaction.

Today when I got some time just before kick start work on a SEO campaign for my some new niche projects I got a message straight from my friend Syed Faizan Ali. Yup, you got it right, I'm talking about the guy behind My Blogger Lab, Templateism and many other startups which are now well known in Blogger industry not less than a Tycoon.

The conversation starts to visit the mybloggerlab.com. At first I guess it is a normal request to check blog either isit working fine or not or may be he put something great over there. Look at below screenshot to see what I saw when I try to visit my blogger lab.

Wow! The website Ahead Contains Malware and Google Chrome has blocked visitors to access the website.

In most cases with malware notice chrome usually also mention the url of major source of malware. For example if that is because of any malicious link of any script we used in our blog but hosted on any third party website.

But it is clear from above screenshot we didn't get any clue of the malware distributor. So, in the beginning we don't have any evidence what just has happened to the site. So, I asked faizan to ensure me that you have not accepted any comment in the last two days to eliminate chances of something close to hacking. And he said "NO, Even I didn't make any kind of changes in my blogger lab". Then in the next move Faizan dressed MBL with complete new template without any external scripts and some widgets to make sure that none of script used in blog is not hosted on 3rd party sites which got malicious. But nothing changed. Keep in mind the traffic during this time has dropped to almost zero from multi thousands of visitors. So, obviously as longer site remains down the bigger the loss faizan would have to face in terms of revenue, visitors trust, SE visibility, etc.

In the mean time faizan got a malware confirmation message in Google webmaster tools,

Google has detected harmful code on your site. We recommend that you clean your site as soon as possible. If the malicious content is not removed, Google's search results may display a warning when users click a link to your site to protect them from malware.

and an email too straight from Google Search team,

Dear site owner or webmaster of mybloggerlab.com, We recently discovered that some of your pages can cause users to be infected with malicious software. We have begun showing a warning page to users who visit these pages by clicking a search result on Google.com. Below are some example URLs on your site which can cause users to be infected (space inserted to prevent accidental clicking in case your mail client auto-links URLs): http://mybloggerlab .com/ http://www.mybloggerlab .com/ http://logocreator.mybloggerlab .com/ Here is a link to a sample warning page: http://www.google.com/interstitial?url=http%3A//mybloggerlab.com/ We strongly encourage you to investigate this immediately to protect your visitors. Although some sites intentionally distribute malicious software, in many cases the webmaster is unaware because: 1) the site was compromised 2) the site doesn't monitor for malicious user-contributed content 3) the site displays content from an ad network that has a malicious advertiser If your site was compromised, it's important to not only remove the malicious (and usually hidden) content from your pages, but to also identify and fix the vulnerability. Long story short later on accessing MBL via search results we got a new kind of malware warning with useful links in detail.

By diagnosing blog link via Google's Safe Browsing diagnostic page option Google clearly mentioned MadAds Media as malware distributor. After that faizan removed MadAds media ads from blog and submitted a reconsideration request via Webmasters.

How To Remove Malware Warning From Google

To make your blog accessible and unblock by Google after removing malware content you have to submit a reconsideration request. The process to submit malware removal request is quite simple. Just go to Google Webmaster Tools > Crawl > Security Issues > mark check on 'I have fixed these Issues' > click on 'Request a Review button', all done.

Now thanks to ALLAH (SWT), the blog reinstated just with in five hours after submission of reconsideration request. But unfortunately we missed to take screenshot of mbl's diagnosing report by Google (now its not accessible) in which MadAds Media was clearly mentioned. But sadly MadAds media still didn't fix their malware distributed link (http://deore-medias.org/), its still blocked by Google with malware warning.

Update: Now Syed Faizan Ali has also provided a screenshot of Google Advisory report clearly showing MadAds Media as responsible. Checkout following screenshot:

What will happen if I will not remove malware content from my blog?

Well I'm not sure about the WordPress or self hosted blogs and sites but I'm sure after few days your blog will get locked by Blogger if its hosted on Blogger.com. The visitors will get a redirect to blogger.com page with certain message on page.

This blog is under review due to possible Blogger Terms of Service violations and is open to authors only

Whereas via accessing your blog via blogger.com you will see a yellow marked notice and popup message that Blogger's malware-prevention robots have detected that your blog could cause malicious activity on a reader's computer. And its now locked because of violation of Blogger's Terms of Service.

Why I Said This Malware Warning as Nuclear Chain Reaction?

I don't have idea about the total of number of publishers registered on MadAds media, but for sure active ones would be in thousands (at least). For example if 1000 Publishers are using MadAds Media ads on their blogs then all will suspect as malwared by Google. After that if any one of them is like My Blogger Lab whose links are present as Sitewide links in footer or sidebars or in posts then all of blogs and blog posts giving link backs to resources like MBL will also get suspect as Malwared by Google. And you guys know a total of 1500 unique domains are referring MBL (source ahrefs.com). Probably the MBL referrers will also have there referrers, and so on. I made Malware Nuclear Chain Reaction confirmation for MBL by using "powered by mybloggerlab" in Google search. You can test it also by opening sites referring malwared sites especially via sitewide link.

In last there is a small suggestion for all folks that don't panic if you are getting malware warning on blog. If its simply on a single blog page, then go to that affected page and find the responsible malware distributor url. Hello everybody, 2014 has just started and via my most recent post I tried to remind one important thing to bloggers. Well, somewhere in mid of December 2013 I opened a poll right in the sidebar with an intend to get suggestions for myself from you folks to get know about your interest. In around the 2-3 weeks only five people submitted their opinions. Means the numbers were quite low even below than my expectations. Moreover, the results make it more difficult for me to guess what actually people want to read. The poll closed on 31st December 2013 with the following results;

What results I actually drained out of the poll?

That's a nice question and actually this question also forced me think seriously when I asked it to myself. But soon I end up with some positive points.

The first thing I determined responsible for low number of votes cast on the poll despite the fact that now a days Bloggeristan.com is getting around 30-100+ visits per day with an average of 1.6 pageviews per visit and an average time of three minutes on page, is the lack of Bloggeristan's regular readers. In short the answer for Why this blog is failed to get regular readers is the pattern or a posting frequency. And the second reason of that is the lack of posts on my blog.

In more than 2 years I posted around 60 blog posts and almost half of them were posted in 2012. And that's the time when blog was also on its peak with around 600+ daily visits and around 3k+ fans on social networking sites. Now many of the old posts have been outdated and expired to get traffic from search engines. Because now the blogging industry has grown and various technologies and strategies have been introduced and many got killed by Google or either by time. So why somebody will visit a blog daily where the content is outdated and the blog is not producing fresh content?

In spite of considerable efforts sadly I have been neglecting this blog again and again and feels unable to pull some time to put all creative ideas and other wealth as blog posts that worked in my case and will work for others too for sure if executed well. Now I have decided to try my best to welcome You with new and useful content every day and to add some more zeros after 30-100 visits per day, and that's my 2014's resolution for this blog.

As far as poll results are concerned, I have planned to write content in all three categories. May be in future I will reopen the poll to get your suggestions on any specific topic and I hope next time you will not make me disappoint. A Reminder For Bloggers To Update Copyrights

According to Gregorian calendar the 365 days of the year 2013 has just ended. The Gregorian calendar, also known as civil calendar is not an authentic calendar but after getting votes in favor from UN and many other international organizations has gave it an unofficial global standard to date events. Currently it is being used worldwide to measure durations in many fields. For example like many others I'm also using it too as an year to show my exclusive rights on the content available on my blog for specific time.

Using All rights reserved or CC (Creative Common license) line in blog's footer is a quite common practice used to give a clear cut notice to all of the visitors to make them aware that I'm the actual owner of all the content; concepts, graphics, text, scripts, etc., everything that is available on blog. If any content curator wished to use something from your site then at-least he must need to give a link back (as dofollow) to the respective owners. Otherwise, if you caught someone who breached your Copyrights by reproducing or selling your content then you reserved the rights to sue him/her or file a DMCA takedown notice. How To Build Forum Backlinks

Well I'm assuming that you already have heard or aware how to use forums to build backlinks. Long story short for newbies or just to refresh basics for others I feel this necessary to disclose some important points you should know before start your new link building campaign.

Always select a forum or its post that is related to your website niche or article.
Its better to get backlinks only from few high pr dofollow forums rather than pulling links in bulk from low PR0's.
Post relevant replies to posts so that other users will it find your answer useful and signature link too. Otherwise moderators will ban you on spamming, and Penguin may also hit your website in accusation of intentional try to manipulate page rank by gaming Google (recommend to read).
Always keep diversity in anchor text to use in signatures. Spun anchor text keywords frequently (for example, after every five replies and forum to forum).
Never do a mistake to make so many links in short time otherwise, soon penguin will be on door and your website can not afford it.

For your kind info I have now almost left this strategy to build backlinks from forums. Though via these forums you can get some powerful links directly from signatures section or in few cases from user profiles or from thread content too but the problem is that now Google has become much smarter and has stopped giving importance to the links coming especially directly from forum signatures because these are not look much natural. And the second thing, this method takes a little bit more time and efforts like to create account first fill up a big form and confirm it by email, wait for ten days or post at-least ten posts to become eligible to put links in signatures, and blah blah. But in case you have found a forum that gives a backlink straight from post content then go for it because it will send some good signals to Google that this linked content is worth to discuss in public place.

Last time I used this list more than eight months ago. In this period many forums stopped passing page ranks (same like warriorforum.com) via dofollow links, and many of them even stopped their services. So, few days ago while testing and updating their Page ranks I have removed many worthless forums and will do more as I get inform. What is Reddit? If you will ask this question from a layman he will answer you hmm.. Reddit is the Cover page of internet. Wow! OK that's good. Any more information about Reddit? Oh Yes, actually it is a social network run by its users where they usually submit the most trending content from different sources under related categories (subreddits). One more thing is that people love Reddit because it gives more freedom to share or talk about anything they want anonymously. Well If you ask me as a Blogger please Syed Shah tell me what is Reddit. Then I will surely define Reddit as a tank that can drum up blog or website with traffic. But this can be cracked only if you think in a different and in an unusual way. Because I'm Damn sure that's not a cup of tea for so-called bloggers those write ghost articles on their blogs to drive massive traffic from reddit and actually their stories were already ended by Reddit after getting ban their accounts or in more worst cases they end up after losing their IP addresses or even sometimes websites too. And this mostly happen when Reddit caught them red handed in cheating. So as always Content is King, you just need to discover a legit way to serve it in front of audience.

Long story short I hope you gotta taste what actually Reddit is and, how people become so mad to crack that traffic tank. Google Authorship Photo Not Showing ANSWERED

Just gotta a tip from my younger friend via Facebook that His and Mine Google Authorship photo is not appearing in search engine results page (SERP). So, I immediately made a search by picking up few lines of blog posts as keywords to ensure to see my blog posts on first positions in serp. As always the blog posts came up in search result but unluckily as my friend pointed my authorship image didn't come along with articles, but my Google+ name with link and number of circles are still available at their position in rich snippets.

The absence of authorship image really made me upset because I was unable to understand why Google removed my authorship? So, I quickly decided to make similar searches for some known bloggers and soon I realized I'm not the only one facing this mishap. But the main questions are:

1. Is there anything wrong with my markup?
2. Is there any technical error in Google's system?
3. Or Once again Google found a new way to tease bloggers (:D)

I had a suspect that my image is not showing because I have customized my Google plus url recently and forget to modify it in blog source code. To check either my markup is placed correctly and working or not, I decide to use Google Structured Data Testing Tool and end up with results that I have a successfully established authorship for my blogs. It means there is nothing wrong with my markup placement.

The answer of 2nd question mentioned above was very well given by +Ashley Berman Hale one of the Top Contributor in Google's Webmaster Forum, posted in GPF. She said,

It's not really a problem or error.

Google won't show all applicable rich snippets in the SERPs - even if you have set it up perfectly. They get to experiment with what they show > and they will make adjustments to determine what to show constantly. Before a lot of people used Authorship, it was easier to get selected. Now they are limiting that to those that are considered higher quality/authority.

Google is constantly experimenting with the SERPs. Again, this doesn't mean that there is an error.

For the 3rd question on Googling I landed on a new blog post in which +Barry Schwartz made a announcement that Matt Cutts (head of Google's WebSpam team) has confirmed him that they rolled out a new update in which they withdraw approximately 15% rich snippets from serps for thin quality websites.

Ok! that's make sense but would You (Google) bother to tell us what is high and low quality website in your eyes. If I'm not wrong than the PageRank is the algorithm which you guys used to tell importance of any website in your big G eyes. If so, then recently on 6th December 2013 unexpectedly the PageRank updated and my both blogs got their first rankings PR2 (Bloggeristan.com) and PR4 directly from PR N/A. If you also want author should be authoritative in order to show up his cute face in search results then I admit that I'm too far from authoritative personalities on Google plus in numbers but at-least I have 1900+ followers with roughly 32:1 ratio of followers and following. And on the other hand I will not pin point someone but I just saw blogs with lesser PR and very thin content and low traffic and those are coming in results with their author photos. Even author stats are quite much low in comparison to mine and their profiles feed also didn't get updated since from months.

I would like to also mention that I have two friends both from Pakistan are coming in search results with rich snippets on their one blog, but on their other PR4 and PR3 blogs with handsome traffic their and blog writers faces also not appearing in search. So it may be possible that Google has rolled out a new Headache for bloggers as Site-wide Google Authorship penalty.

Well I'm not sure what exactly Google wants to do but this seems annoying. How to Change Currency in AdSense Reports

Many Publishers including me wish to change currency in AdSense from USD to local to look exactly how much they have been doing good according to their local currency. Especially it happens when they are gonna get paid soon.

So far publishers were not allowed to change reporting currency after once they select Euro or US dollars as default currency in a signup process. However payment currency was possible to set from Payment setting > Payment Method. Now the GOOD news is that Google Adsense has added a new feature under performance reports section (available in both old and new AdSense User Interface) to select different currency for reporting.

Before then that the quick and most common method to convert currency to estimate earnings in local value was Google search. You may still use Google's currency conversion tool by use of similar search queries shown in following image;

Now thanks to Google Adsense who has incorporated currency conversion feature directly into reports section. To process to display earnings report in any other currency is quite simple. Just go to performance section and do click on Columns drops down button to select a desired one from huge collection of currencies, and then tap on Apply button. You can change it again any time by following same steps.

Well I'm not 100% sure but potentially Google AdSense is using Citibank N.A. provided rates for conversion. One thing you should keep in mind that the Google can't guarantee the accuracy of converted monetary value.

Total Google Adsense Ads Per Page Limit Changed?

It comes to my notice via some friend that AdSense has silently changed the limits of total AdSense ads per page (not sure about its authenticity). Before then that normal Adsense Publishers are allowed to put a maximum of 8 adverts per page. The distribution of adverts allowed to display per page was something like following,

3 Ad Units (rectangles, banners, verticals, etc.) + 3 Link Units + 2 Search Boxes

The exceeded number of Adsense ad units will not display and will show a blank space. In certain cases for example an AdSense Premium Publisher (like Mashable.com), with other bunch of benefits they are allowed to monetize each page with more than 3 units.

There are some common privileges that relates to number of Ad units, for example Adsense ad units usually give more CPC and CTR in comparison to link units and search boxes, Ad units more than 3 helps to monetize large web pages in a better way, and the next most important benefit that publisher can get rid of low paying advertising networks and can improve revenue by replacing them with Adsense ad units.

So, now the question is what changes I have observed ?
As I get informed that Google AdSense (GA) has made some changes to display maximum number of adverts per page for normal publisher I decided to play with number of AdSense units on one of my blog to test and configure what changes has been made by GA. The test outcome confirmed the news.

How Many Adsense Ads Per Page Are Allowed?

After recent changes now a publisher can place more than 3 Adsense for Content units. Now publisher is allowed to place up to 6 Ad units (rectangles, banners, verticals, etc.) per page. Thats awesome! Doesn't it thrill you? :D

The other findings which I observed that with 6 Ad units you may not show any link unit per page. You may need to decrease the number of Ad units to show Link units.

For example to show 2 Link units on web page you are allowed to put maximum of 4 Ad units on that web page.

However you may not be allowed to show more than 3 Link units per page as a normal AdSense Publisher.

Ok! Shall I Go And Fill My Web Page With Adsense Ad Units?

Look at my blog at the moment I even have not placed a single code of any advertiser. But if you are gonna make your web page a fish market, before doing so first make sure that your web page should have sufficient actual content to justify the number of ad units. And the second thing you should make sure that the content and ads both will be easily recognizable as content and ads, respectively.

Currently, these changes and test are only noticed and performed by me and even Yet are not officially announced by Google AdSense. So I would like to recommend you to do not place ad units more than 3 on a web page. And I also would like to invite AdSense officials to pass statement on this change of ads limits per page before any folk by mistake make any possible violation of AdSense policies.

How to ping backlinks or is it necessary to ping backlinks after creating them? are the questions that mostly comes in mind of inexperienced folks when practicing link building. The problem usually come when via backlink checkers the person didn't able to see backlinks of a website created a while ago.

Alexa Pro, Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools, Ahrefs are one of the most popular and effective source websites to check backlinks of websites. These website usually take time to refresh Backlinks list, even sometime more than couple of weeks after your link get indexed by search engines.

The backlink get indexed when search engines crawls the page used by you to get link back either via comments or from post or from somewhere else. The only thing you go can do to speedup the process to index backlinks quickly is to send signals to Search engines to crawl the source page as it's content has been updated.

There are bunch of best free ping sites are available, you can find them easily via search. Use anchor text as keyword and put URL of source page in URL's section.

Tip: Make search for mass ping or bulk ping websites to ping a huge list of backlinks at once in no time.

Use them, otherwise this job can also be done easily by social bookmarking sites. Just make signups on Digg, Diigo, Stumbleupon, etc. and then submit or save your source page links as bookmarks.

Should I Ping My Backlinks?

Actually it depends on the amount of backlinks and requirement. Personally I do not ping backlinks and even not recommend others to do so but, sometime this has to do on client's demand. The reason why I do not recommend to ping backlinks is that sometime inexperienced people create so many backlinks with in hours. Sending pings to index them instantly can be equivalent to push you in troubles especially in presence of new Google updates like Google Penguin. So, the best practice is that leave the backlinks and let them discovered by search engines alternately, slowly and naturally.

Keep in mind that every backlink checker tool has their own advantages, disadvantages, and limits. So, non of them has capability to find all backlinks of any site even not Google services. Btw, once your backlink pinged and get indexed and in case not detected as artificial / spam by Google then with each backlink your webpage will get more link juice, more authority and finally it will appear on top in search results and this will bring more traffic and money to you.

Edit 1:
On getting some queries via comments and contact page, I decided to disclose My Secret to Index backlinks amazingly fast. Keep in mind a quality backlink does not need a ping to get index. What I do to make sure Google find them easily, is I give them (other web pages on which my site backlinks are stayed) a link back from my regular blogs by creating a new hidden (for visitors not for bots) post with related content. Do not worry, if you do this properly your site will never get a penalty or lose ranking. In case you are scared of doing this then there is a free alternate for you, little slow but still quite effective. Alternate way is, make a new blogspot.com blog with relevant title, put spun content (but should be readable), give backlinks to your backlink's source web pages straight from your blogspot homepage. And then, Boom.. For sure in a day or three your blogspot blog will get crawled (obviously with out going links, too) and indexed by Google. You can make this process bit more fast by submitting a sitemap and fetching url from webmaster tools.

The above mentioned trick is absolutely Free, and best if you are in manual link building (I prefer it) or for small list of backlinks. Manual link building is usually little expensive but, it is safer and worth to use money. For SEO professionals and users of auto link building tools (like GSA SER, Senuke XCR, ScrapeBox, etc.), those have huge list of backlinks, it is recommended to use any quality services like Linklicious, Backlinks Indexer, One Hour Indexing, Indexification, etc. to increase the overall percentage and probability of your backlinks to get found and indexed fast by Google and other search engines.
