        Job Responsibilities:
•Back-up for Director of Nursing and Clinical Services in her absence, in all

•Coordinates the Pain Management Program, fall team and infection control.

 selection of nursing service personnel.

•Develops, implements, and maintains an effective orientation program that
 orients the new employee to the facility, its policies and procedures, and to
 his/her job position and duties.
•Makes daily round of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing
 service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with
 acceptable nursing standards.  Reports findings to Director of Nursing and
 Clinical Services.
•Coordinates the three unit managers in meeting all continuous quality 
 improvement initiatives.
•Evaluates care systems and researches and recommends changes as needed to
 improve resident outcomes.

Related Duties and Responsibilities:
•Coordinates and assures accuracy of POS’s on a monthly (staggered) basis.
•Monitors falls and makes recommendations for improvement.
•Recommends staff development programs.
•Assists the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services in preparing performance
 evaluations as directed.
•Has complete understanding of care planning process.
•Oversees and coordinates the Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives in
 Nursing Department.
•Oversees and coordinates Infection Control initiatives in Nursing Department
 as well as training/education for all staff.
•Oversees compliance to Nursing Center regulations as related to the Nursing
 Department.
•Directs planning, scheduling, conducting of orientation programs for newly
 hired nursing personnel.
•Ensures compliance with all licensure regulations and organizational standards
 for training and orientation in Nursing Department.
•Serves as a resource and trainer to the general orientation program on
 gerontological and chronic care issues.
•Identifies needs in the organization for education in resident care related
 areas.
•Directs the QI plan for Nursing Department.
•Assesses level of compliance and implements steps needed to meet standards.
•Co-chair of the facility QI program
•Participates in in-service, projects, or committees as assigned.
•Maintains all certifications necessary for employment.
•Demonstrates flexibility, open mindedness, and versatility in adjusting to
 changing environments and requirements as necessary.
•Commits to continually improving his/her skills through participations in
 education opportunities whether offered on the job, within, or outside of the
 facility, to increase knowledge of work-related issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
•Current unencumbered RN license through college, associate degree, or three
 year diploma school.
•Three or more years of experience in LTC including supervisory, staff
 development and quality improvement programs.  Preferred gerontological nurse
 certification.  Must possess working knowledge of Medicare regulations.
•CPR Certification 
•Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term
 care.  
•Computer skills.

Description: 

The Residences at Thomas Circle is looking for a self-starter to head its billing and collections department. Requirements:
