My Two Cents..

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am an avid Internet surfer. I was cruising the 'net yesterday, looking for advice about my personal relationships. I appreciate the many words of wisdom, empathy and advice I found.

I have been researching different topics to focus on in my new blog. I have been on the planet for a fair few years and it occurred to me that my two cents worth is valid. As I was reading different opinions and views on the issues I was searching online, I felt a kinship of understanding.

I have experienced many relationships and issues during my more than half a century on the planet.
The trials and tribulations of wanting, needing and giving love.
Understanding and compassion are common threads among humans.
We all want to be loved, and loved in a good way.
We all want to be able to love those that love us, in a good way.

One would think that being in love would be easy. It certainly feels that way when we first meet our significant other. Rapid heartbeat, great sex, caring, giving, sharing.

All too often, a few months , or years if you are radically compatible, familiarity sets in. If we are not careful we slip into sloppy relationship habits. Once the burping and farting in front of one another starts, if we're not careful, the relationship takes a bit of a nose dive. If we are not careful, the emotional burping and farting begins too.

We start taking each other for GRANTED.

This is not good. While familiarity can be and often is a good thing, it can also lead to problems. Respect and courtesy fly out the window if we are not diligent about keeping the lines of communication open.
