Os sintomas são vários, no entanto uma criança disléxica troca as letras na escrita, tem uma leitura lenta, apresenta dificuldades na compreensão de textos e tem dificuldades na memorização da informação. O diagnóstico pode ser feito a partir dos sete anos de idade.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Perturbações Articulatórias&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Trata-se de um distúrbio linguístico, no qual a pessoa tem dificuldade em produzir sons e articular palavras, devido a um uso incorrecto dos órgãos envolvidos na produção da fala, como os lábios, língua, véu palatino,...). Estas perturbações manifestam-se sob forma de substituições, omissões e distorções de sons da fala, prejudicando a compreensão do que é dito.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Gaguez&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Consiste num problema de comunicação que afecta a fluência do discurso, perturbando o seu ritmo e velocidade. O individuo apresenta bloqueios ao iniciar a fala, repete sons, sílabas ou palavras, por vezes abreviando ou prolongando-os. Esta perturbação pode também ser acompanhada por alguns movimentos faciais durante o discurso, fazendo parecer um tique. A gaguez pode começar por se manifestar cedo (por volta dos 3 anos), no entanto tem maior incidência durante a infância (entre os 2 e os 7 anos) do que na idade adulta, sendo mais comum em pessoas do sexo masculino.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Perturbação de Hiperactividade com Défice de Atenção (PHDA)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Este distúrbio é muito frequente na infância e caracteriza-se essencialmente por um excesso de actividade. As crianças hiperactivas apresentam um elevado nível de desatenção, irriquietude, impulsividade e agitação, que não se ajustam ao desenvolvimento considerado “normal” na sua idade, afectando por consequência o processo de aprendizagem da criança e ainda as suas relações sociais. A Maria (nome fictício) é uma dessas crianças que diariamente combate a imaturidade auditiva. Durante as sessões, a criança vai treinar a sua &lt;b&gt;atenção selectiva&lt;/b&gt; (capacidade de seleccionar os estímulos auditivos), a &lt;b&gt;discriminação dos padrões temporais&lt;/b&gt; (capacidade de distinguir sons curtos e longos, fracos e fortes), a &lt;b&gt;localização do som&lt;/b&gt; (reconhecer a origem do som e ter a capacidade de identificar a sua presença), entre outros exercícios. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"   style="  ;font-family:verdana;font-size:small;"&gt;A PPA tem cura e o tratamento pode demorar, em média, entre 16 a 30 sessões. Assim, quando ouvimos um determinado som ou mensagem, uma série de processamentos ocorrem no nosso cérebro - mais precisamente no sistema auditivo periférico e no sistema nervoso auditivo central - possibilitando a análise e interpretação desse mesmo som. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:verdana;"&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Deste modo, a &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Perturbação do Processamento Auditivo (PPA)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;, ou Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), é uma alteração no funcionamento do processamento auditivo que cria uma falha e impede a capacidade de analisar e interpretar os sons. Ou seja, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;a criança não consegue atribuir significado àquilo que ouve, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;mesmo que apresente uma audição normal.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Esta disfunção normalmente desenvolve-se nos primeiros anos de vida (até aos 13 anos) e, para uma criança com PPA o mundo é um local de ruídos desordenados, no qual é quase impossível descodificar e filtrar os sons, impedindo-a de usar plenamente as suas competências auditivas.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:small;"&gt;Os EUA foram os primeiros a investigar a perturbação do processamento auditivo, na década de 50-60, tendo o Brasil começado a estudar o tema nos anos 80.
