If you can peel your eyes away from the gorgeous brights of the NARS Thakoon nail polish collab, you’ll see this demure seashell pink just chilling in the NARS Summer color collection. The best word to describe this shade is pretty, no? The color itself is familiar, a soft pink, but I love its place in the overall summer story from NARS.

The look for NARS Summer, as seen on Ginta Lapina, is so wearable. You can see Trouville peeking out slightly on her nails, and I think it contributes to a soft, glowy look for summer. Here’s the makeup breakdown:

To begin, St. Moritz Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF30/PA+++ was applied to the center of the face with the fingertips and blended outward, then set with Eden Loose Powder to create an immaculate complexion.

To lend the skin a light bronzed look, Laguna Bronzer was dusted onto the face in the shape of a ‘3’, starting at the forehead, swept on to the cheek, and then along the jawline. The apples of the cheeks were warmed with Liberté Blush and the face further defined by softly dusting Taos Blush along the hairline.

A mixture of the silver and icy peach shades of Ramatuelle Trio Eyeshadow were brushed onto the lid and blended up into the crease. The apricot shade of the Trio was added in to the crease, with the silver shade swept along the lower lash line.

The upper and lower lids were lined with Via Veneto Larger Than Life® Long-Wear Eyeliner.

After curling the lashes with an eyelash curler, two coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara were brushed on to the lashes.

Finally, the lips were lined and filled with Borneo Lip Liner Pencil—blending with a finger to soften the color. Moscow Pure Matte Lipstick was applied, then topped with Risky Business Lip Gloss for shine.

What do you think? Loving the look? Is Trouville a hit or miss for you?

I have been obsessed with Eve Lom’s Cleanser for a few years now. It all started when I first set foot inside of Space NK for the first time. After reading so many rave reviews about this cleanser, I knew I couldn’t leave the store without picking it up. There was a small issue though, I suffered from a little bit of sticker shock when I saw the price for the smallest container. My way around that was to try the travel set that Space NK offered at the time. This way I got to try a little bit of everything. That night I went back to my hotel room and washed away the day. I couldn’t believe how good my skin felt, it was so smooth, clean and soft. I still hesitated on picking up a full sized jar of it. It wasn’t until a trip back to New York City at the end of January that I finally made the leap.

This cleanser is amazing, it breaks down makeup beautifully and pampers your skin and senses with a blend of essentials oils. When you you take the muslin cloth included with this cleanser, get it nice and warm and let it sit on your skin for a bit, it’s heaven. The heat softens the skin and allows the cleanser to really penetrate and deep clean, then when you wipe if off with the cloth, your skin is left smoother and more radiant. It is really easy to get addicted to this kind of clean. I don’t use this every day but when I’m wearing a little more makeup then usual, this is what I reach for. Now that I’m working from home and wearing off shades of foundation and testing new things more often, it is getting a little more use.

Have you tried Eve Lom’s Cleanser? Do you love it like I do? Let us know in the comments.

For this month’s featured Revlon video, we bring you the “Wet Hair Look.” For us, that means a tightly pulled back bun, a.k.a. top knot. It’s the best part of having long hair, and is a go-to hair style of mine. Anything goes, really, when you pull your hair back. It can be relaxed for daytime or even chic for night. In the video below, I talk about the transition from day to night with three Revlon products:

Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush™ Mousse Makeup

Revlon Luxurious Color™ Smoky Crayon

Revlon® Just Bitten™ Lipstain + Balm (in Desire)

We have been a fan of the Just Bitten Lipstain+ Balm for years, and using it again here reminded us of that. Desire is such a pretty pink! As for the PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup, I like that quite a bit, too. I’ve always been a fan of the PhotoReady (despite others discontent with the sparkles!) and the Mousse is straight up cool. The shade I’m wearing here is a little too light for me come summer, but I’ve been loving it in these paler, pre-faux tan days. And, last, the Luxurious Color Smoky Crayon. Love it in theory, but we have to urge you to PRIME, PRIME, PRIME. If not, well, you can imagine what happens. Good for the smudgy look!

Let us know your thoughts. Tried any of the above?

“Thanks, it’s Sasha Rhett.” Four words that me and Emily uttered constantly while sporting these watches with colorful and textured interchangeable straps. Totally for the ADD crowd, let us tell you. Endless options. Sasha Rhett was created by a Harvard grad named Alexandra Daum. Between Birchbox co-founders Katia and Hayley, the Harvard Baseball team (a.k.a. Call Me Maybe boys) and Sasha Rhett we think Harvard might just be the birthplace of awesome.

“While I love color and prints, I love classic silhouettes as well. Women today demand a lot of their fashion purchases. They want items that serve multiple functions within their wardrobe, and of course they want high quality and affordability. With Sasha Rhett, you can buy a novelty watch in your favorite bright color for fun and swap it out for a neutral tone for maximum practicality.” – Alexandra Daum, founder of Sasha Rhett

I have a Sasha Rhett bracelet (you can see it here on my wrist with these Goody Double Wear hair ties), and I love how simple it is. Perfect for the minimalist jewelry types. We were curious about the adorable watches, and tested out the Rose Gold Round and Stainless Steel Rectangular, changing straps nearly every day because we could. Next to lip gloss, a watch is something I’m almost always wearing. Emily, too. Her left wrist is always adorned with the a classic Cartier with a thin black leather band. The Sasha Rhett Stainless Steel Rectangular timepiece is actually quite similar.

The straps are really easy to change. There’s two little ends the size of a needle that connect into the watch. We’re partial to the look of the double strap, though they are plenty of singles, too.

The watches range from $199-$299 and additional straps from $65-$75. Our wish is that each watch came with a trio of straps. The fun is truly in changing these up!

Getting into bed at the end of the day has been such a pleasure lately. Not only because sleeping is amazing, duh, but because my linens and blanket are sweetly scented with Tocca’s Touch fragrance thanks to the Tocca Laundry Travel Set. I get in bed, cuddle with my soft, plush blanket and just breathe in the fragrance. It makes me a happy gal at the end of the day.

The Tocca Laundry Travel Set retails for $22 ad comes with four 2oz. travel size washes perfect for travelling (or hand washing your delicates, what could be better than having all of your bras smelling like Tocca Touch?) in a small zip up bag. The bottle suggests you use 3-4 capfuls in a sink full of water for a hand washing or 6-7 capfuls for load in the delicate cycle. I used the entire 2oz. bottle in my washer for a few sets of sheets, this has helped the scent linger around a bit longer. Five days later and I still smell Tocca’s Touch in my bed. The fragrances in the set include my personal favorite Touch (gardenia, pomegranate and Egyptian balsam), Cleopatra (grapefruit and cucumber), Stella (blood orange) and Florence (iris and rose).

Tocca’s Laundry wash is gentle but safe to use in your washer on a normal cycle but don’t expect it to perform any stain vanishing miracles. It is best suited for lingerie, linens, silk and cashmere, basically anything you would run through the delicate cycle in your washer. Just take it for what it is, a great way to pamper yourself and indulge in a fragrance in a new way.

Tocca, if you’re listening… if you come out with some fabric softener so I can use this on all my laundry, you have a fan for life! Have you tried Tocca’s laundry wash? Which scent is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

I don’t know about you but I have what I can a “special occasion” shampoo and conditioner. When I really love a shampoo and conditioner and it is on the price side of things, I only reach for it on special occasions. This is my way of making those bottles last awhile. I adored this one particular brand’s shampoo and conditioner because it smelled like Chanel no. 5 and made me feel like I spent all day at the salon but with each bottle costing upwards of $25 each, it didn’t get a lot of play. Now I’ve gotten over my shampoo and conditioner rationing thanks to MoroccanOil’s Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner.

I’ve done a lot of damage to my hair during the last year going from brunette to red, back to brunette and then back to a reddish-brunette. I worried that my hair would only be fit for lining stables after the last time I had color lifted but I’ve been good to my hair and have been pampering it as much as I can. This pampering has involved using MoroccanOil’s Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner more regularly. Normally this would be a “special occasion” shampoo and conditioner for me but it is so so good and much more affordable that I’ve decided I cannot be without it and have worked it into my regular rotation. At a starting price of $15 for an 8oz. bottle, I’ve decided that my hair is worth that much to me.

Besides having that addictive MoroccanOil fragrance we all know and love, the formula is also sulfates, phosphates and paraben free so it is completely safe for color treated hair. It is also sodium chloride free so if you are getting keratin treatments, you’re good to go. Since I’m using these on a regular basis, I found I don’t need to break out the hair masks nearly as often. Before this shampoo and conditioner, I would do a hair mask twice a week to give my hair some good loving but this conditioner has softened my hair just as well as any mask would and rinses out cleanly without making my hair feel heavy. The shampoo is also quite concentrated, a little dollop is all you’ll need for a good, productive lather, I tend to use more than I need but I’m just so infatuated with the smell. I still use MoroccanOil when I blow dry my hair but just the shampoo and conditioner alone have done wonders for my hair. It feels amazing and even more, you can’t tell it has been abused.

Speaking of hair, have you seen the Peacock collection of flatirons from GHD? They’re all about showing off with their new peacock print cases, which I love and appreciate. Each flatiron in the collection also has color co-ordinating plates and a plate guard. Did you know these have sleep mode on them too? It goes to show long it has been since I’ve tried a new flat iron… might be time for a new one.

MAC Spice Lip Pencil was the first product I’d ever used from the brand. It was a gift from my sister-in-law, who raved about how it was the best lipliner she’d ever used. Today, Spice remains a MAC best selller. In fact, it’s the #1 selling lip pencil in more than 20 countries. For my skin tone, it reeks of the 90s and brown lips, but twas the times. But being a best seller this long means something, which is why MAC immortalized Spice, and seven other global best sellers in its Fashion Sets Collection. On counters through June, find the world’s favorite MAC colors in special sets of coordinated Lipstick, Lipglass and Nail Polish.

Chances are you’ve used these iconic MAC colors. Russian Red, Girl About Town, Snob , Myth, Chestnut and Rebel. Myth Lipstick was the nude for us for years and Russian Red remains the red of all reds. And now they’re both available in lipglass and nail polish form — ohmigosh, YES!

I’m kind of giddy over Girl About Town and its fabulous fuchsia-ness in a Lipglass and Nail Polish at the moment. Girl About Town Lipstick is all sorts of awesome, and that translates to its newest products perfectly. Matching lip and nail color has never felt as right as it does with a MAC Fashion Set. These have been on counters for a few weeks now. Did you snag a set? Take a trip down MAC memory lane? Let us know!

Benefit’s newest kit, inspired by the upcoming release of Snow White and the Huntsman, channels a fairytale. Benefit Rare Beauty contains five pieces to help you create rosy cheeks and lips, skin as pure as snow and lashes black as night. I don’t know about you, but I’m more about Benefit’s take on Snow White than I am actually seeing the movie! Perhaps its the idea of watching Kristin Stewart run tortured through the woods for a few hours that doesn’t exactly have me running to the box office. But, I’ll happily wear Benetint and High Beam any day of the week!

Benefit included a full-size BADgal Lash Mascara and The POREfessional as well as a deluxe sample of the famed Benetint and a mini High Beam. But the real treat is this lavender and silver makeup case it all comes packaged up in.

Right? Isn’t it cute? It’s very functional and sturdy, too! This bag and the full size The POREfessional (retails for $29) totally sell this for me. You can snag it online or at Sephora for a limited time for $45.

The coolest girl around town right now is definitely NARS Marie-Galante, new from the brand’s summer 2012 collection. She’s definitely shaking things up in my makeup bag. Normally, iridescence isn’t really my thing, but in the case of Marie-Galante, the iridescent orchid and regal blue just glow on the lid. I had a feeling this would be a dynamic duo, and it’s even better than I expected. The colors flash on the lids, and when layered, create this phenomenal hybrid shade.

Marie-Galante layered on the lid

Do you guys remember NARS Jolie Poupee? The orchid shade here is a similar tone to the pearly purple in Jolie Poupee, but much more sheer. While some may turn their nose up at sheer, that’s the beauty of Marie-Galante (and really, the brilliance of Francois). One layer is barely there orchid sparkle. But build it up using a stiff, flat brush and after a few layers the lids are glistening. Layer it with the regal blue for a really customized look. The result is light and fresh, which is exactly what I want for summer.

Oh, and for those curious, I apply this shadow dry over a primer (NARS Smudgeproof Base to keep it in the family) and it wears beautifully. No fallout, but be sure to shake out the flat brush before patting on the lid. Pat, not sweep, so the color adheres. Let us know your thoughts on miss Marie-Galante! Have you seen her in person?
