The remote works as advertised.

The manual has programming directions (press "program" button on your garage opener, press the remote two times, you're done).

The four little rectangles arond the remote are a plastic sleeve that can be reversed to cover the button, so it won't accidentally open your garage from your pocket.

There's a tiny hole that lights up red when you press the button, so you know that the battery is good.

Comes with battery already installed.

The keyring was a little tough to attach.

I have an Overhead Door brand opener. I think this brand is only available through independent dealers. My remote was 10 years old and I needed a new one. I was glad to find that this little remote would work with Overhead Door. I simply opened the lens that covers the lightbulb, pushed the learn button, pushed the remote control button twice within a few seconds of one another and it was ready to go. Works great. Verify on Genie's site that your garage door opener works with this remote before ordering...just to be sure.

This was sooo easy!

The hardest part was cutting open the plastic packaging! Easy set-up as mentioned. Just click the "learn" button on your opener and press the button twice on this remote and Voila! you're done!

Comes with a visor clip and a key ring. I'm just using the visor clip. This is a nice compact size remote, a little smaller than those really tiny flip cellphones.

Note: The product packaging states that this remote is only valid with Genie models 1997 and newer.

This remote is working from 30 feet away for me. Awesome! I guess it depends on the static on this particular frequency in your area, but it's wonderful at my house and I'm not far from the airport.

If you own a Genie 1997 or newer and need a new remote, buy this one and you'll be as happy as me!

I wanted a remote for my new, homelink-less vehicle, and didn't want a clumsy-looking, plain old black remote stuffed somewhere in the car, nor a key-fob-like device dangling from my keys. This was the only thing I could find that seemed to fit the bill - somewhat stylish looking, and possibly mountable in a semi-visble spot.

Unfortunately, the style doesn't go well with my interior (not that I'm a decorator type in the first place), but it fits perfectly upside down in the sunglasses holder near the rear view mirror. This also allows the blue proximity lights to work as my hand gets near.

Aside from the looks, it's just a garage door opener. The lights are handy at night. Its not as elegent a solution as a HomeLink visor or mirror, but the cost is much less. If you need something like I did, this is your device.

This small remote is identical to the ones supplied with my two garage door lifts. It works well from well over a hundred feet away through walls and other obstacles. It can be easily programed by a single button on the lift motor, for up to three separate doors. I keep one in each of two cars but needed one in the house for when the cars are in the garage (with remotes) and the garage is closed. The belt clip/visor clip on the back is fine and is detachable. But I need something to mount it on the wall in the house. I guess I will have to resort to double face tape.

This remote garage door opener is ideal for me. It works perfectly with our Sears Craftsman 315MHz garage door opener and is extremely easy to program. Just make sure the button and antenna wire on the opener is purple. This remote is small enough to go in my pocket with my keys, very similar to an auto key fob. I'm a motorcycle rider so this just makes so much more sense than a standard size opener that doesn't fit anywhere very well. Plus, I'm less likely to lose this one since it doubles as a key ring. I recommend this for anyone who needs a compact garage door opener.

Works fine, range is good, but buttons are much to easy to push when bumped or jostled in pants pockets. Whenever I try to carry this remote, I find my electric gate opening and closing accidentally. Might work better to use one the left or right buttons, rathern than the middle button as your primary control.

I just received my garage door opener in the mail. The instructions inside weren't very helpful but I did a quick internet search and found out how to program the remote. It was very easy and the remote works very good. My garage door opener is very old, 1985, so I was not sure if I would be able to find a remote that would work. The old system is a cut wire opener but this remote worked perfectly for it. I was going to spring more money for one that looked more stylish but wasn't sure of compatibility. I am happy with this remote and thanks to the other buyers comments I made the right choice, so thanks to those who left a review. If it helps anyone else I have a Stanley 1/4hp garage door opener and this remote worked for me.

This winter the cold weather in Minnesota killed the batteries in my existing box-remotes. I needed something that I could bring indoors in my pocket while leaving the car parked outdoors for an extended period of time. I purchased two units from A Click Away Remotes, and I'm happy to say that they both work after properly configuring the dip-switches.

Initially, I thought I had one DOA remote (either the battery was dead, or the unit failed) and another remote didn't work after setting the dip-switches to what I thought was the proper position. I figured out that I had the switches flipped in the opposite direction (down needed to be up and up needed to be down - reverse to what my box-remote dip-switches were). Yeah, now one worked! After taking a closer look at the second 'DOA' remote I found that a plastic protection tab was placed between the battery and the metal spring clip attached to the circuit board. Picked this up through amazon seller Door Openers and More. It took an extra week compared to my amazon.com package from the same order that day. No big deal, just letting people know it takes a few days longer than amazon packages.

ITEM DETAILS: The item is grade A what I expected and hoped for. 300mhz, 10 switch, One button. A little more grey than what is pictured, but still a very light grey color casing. The battery has a plastic slip so it does not drain the tiny battery while in the mail. You will need a VERY small phillips screw driver to remove the one screw that holds it all together. Then you will be able to set the 10 switches to your unique code and then unplug the plastic battery safety slip to enable the battery. The switches are VERY small, so I used my mini screwdriver to pry apart the case, and then used it to set the switches. The keychain clasp is pretty durable it appears, I trust it on my key set.

This opener is fairly easy to install, with mostly well-illustrated instructions overall, in spite of a couple of inconsistencies in the installation manual's text and in the parts drawings. The text instructions seem likely to have been written by someone who speaks English as a FIRST language too, which is unusual these days, and which helps to speed things along....The actual assembly of the main components and wiring the system are a breeze.

The quality of the parts OVERALL seems decent, although I noticed that a significantly lighter weight steel and smaller gauge fasteners are used for the bracketry and rail system than had been used with my older 1/3hp chain driven unit (20-25 years) which had also been Chamberlain-(Sears private labeled) model. That may be a part of why this new one still flexes considerably-in spite of the square cross section of the new rail (vs "t" section) and is actually louder in operation than the old one had been... My husband who is quite handy thought this product was not so easy to install. It really depends on your door and your current setup. The door sensor does not mount to the rail because our garage door hardware that extends beyond the track. In that case, you need creativity to mount the sensors to the garage walls(oftentimes concrete walls). The door won't work without the sensors. We had little clearance in the ceiling area. The directions state that you need two inches, but because of the hardware, you actually need a good 4 inches from the ceiling which we did not have. Also be sure to read the directions completely before you start as my husband made at least two trips to the hardware store in addition to his initial trip. Be sure to read the directions about reinforcing the door if it is not a solid door. You will need bracing for the door which will require some creativity.

Bought this for the car parked outside. Programming was piece of cake, just read the directions in the pamphlet or on the garage opening motor [which I did].

3 steps
1. Press and HOLD the open button on the remote
2. Press and RELEASE the purple button [I forgot what they called it]
3. Release the remote button ONCE the garage openers' LIGHT comes on.

Make sure you reprogram the old remotes at the same time so they all work on the same code, frequency, or what-not.

Excellent seller as well, brought it from "ASPDOORS & A WHOLE LOT MORE"

Being down to our last remote for our old garage opener, I was beginning to wonder how to get another remote. I got this just for fun, I didn't think it would work, but it was inexpensive enough to try out.

After reading the instructions, I was now absolutely positive it would not work. You have set dip switches (open your current remote and set it to the same dip switch pattern), and press the remote button a certain number of times (in my case 17 times). So here I am, pressing the button 17 times, thinking how stupid this is, but on the 17th press, amazingly the door opened. Of course, after you do this, you only have the press the button once to get it to work, but there seems to be a delay as it runs through your programming again.

We have old Stanley door openers. Stanley is pretty lame that it no longer sells or supports them, so I was looking for a universal remote that could handle 2 doors for our second vehicle. It was a bit involved to program the 10 rocker dip switch, but the following the instructions to the letter worked perfectly. The hardest part was climbing up on a ladder to see the dip switch settings on the openers. The range is good, but not great -- definitely usable. I'm buying a second one for the other car to replace the original bulky one-door opener that came with the Stanley installation.

I just installed the Genie 1022 as a replacement for the second Craftsman that died an early death. It was very simple to install and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. It's quieter than any chain driven opener I've ever seen and has a smooth start and stop. My only minor complaint (and it's mostly because of my short, stubby fingers) is that the wire connector on the unit could be larger to make it easier to feed the wire ends into it.

I don't usually write reviews, but I was impressed with this product so thought it deserved the time. First off, the packaging and care taken to label the parts was amazing. Although I don't normally read through directions I felt the urge to, seeing how well organized everything was. The unit itself seems perfect (and much better than my old unit). The soft start is cool and the way you program the up and down limits is so easy (maybe this is how all new units are programmed though). Programmed up to both my Homelink vehicles with no real issues. When my others die I will definitely replace them with another of these units. I was not aware of the 7ft height when I ordered it, but decided to install it anyways... I was able to squeeze 7'2" out of it and that was enough to get my stock F350 through the door with a few inches to spare, although my door does stop a few inches lower than the old unit.

I installed two of these chain driven Chamberlains for two doors. My wife was not available to help me with the install (she is not easy, affordable or quiet [just kidding, dear]). However, I was able to do them both myself with the help of a 6 ft ladder, a Makita cordless, a socket set, and a screwdriver.

It took me about 38 minutes to assemble the first one and 20 minutes for the second one. After that, each unit required about an hour to attach brackets and mount. A fairly easy job that required some skill. I needed to purchase the screws/bolts required to mount the unit to the support (they give most but not all screws/bolts as every garage is different). My garage required installing brackets to the supports as well.

I like my wires neat, so I purchased an Arrow electric staple gun - a good move (the one I bought can handle rounded and squared staples along with one size of nail). Installing the sensors is required, and putting up all of the... Read more

I ordered 2 PD210 openers in early November 05 and received them in late February of 06. Besides the dealings with Amazon the openers are great. I installed them this weekend and they work well, were easy to install and are very quiet. Be wary of a few things though. Amazon drug their feet for almost 4 months because I clicked the "send in as few shipments as possible" button. After they suggested I split them up I had the openers, in 2 separate shipments, within 2 days. Also be aware that the CLK1 remote keypad control DOES NOT WORK WITH THESE OPENERS! I had trouble programming it and called the support line. One of the first things the recording says is that it will not function with Chamberlain openers that have a purple learn button, like the ones I received. So besides those few things these openers appear to work great, I am happy witht the Chamberlain experience, just not the Amazon experience.

My Genie opener was installed in 1990, and I had dropped the remote for what turned out to be the last time. I had searched and found out that model remote was no longer made. I took a chance and ordered the Clicker. When the Clicker arrived, I found the reference to my unit. I knew about the DIP switches inside my existing remote, and the Clicker instructions told me to program the DIP switches inside the Clicker just the same. (This is only true for specific models of openers, remotes and year installed - others use the programming button on the receiver). I followed the clear directions: they seemed a bit odd, but I followed them exactly (17 clicks) and voila! ~ the garage door opened! I programmed the other door as well, and now I have one compact remote to open both doors. I got mine set up fairly quickly. Didn't work the first time, so I reversed all the switches on the opener and did it again, and that did the trick. But I then found the range to be very short - less than 10 feet - no good! But what I also found was that I was expecting to press the button 16 times for a Stanley opener, yet 14 did the trick (i.e. the door was activated on the 14th press.) 14 is for a multicode (I take that to mean generic.) So I programmed it again, but this time did the full 16 presses, and now my range is very good - along the lines of 100 feet. Also, if you're curious (I was) - how does it control 2 doors with only 1 set of DIP switches? It remembers the settings during activation. So you set it to match one door, do the programming step, then set it to match the switches on your second door and do the programming step for it. Great unit and highly recommend!

I installed this LiftMaster 3800 opener in my garage over this past weekend. It took a couple of hours in total, not because the installation is terribly complicated but just because there's a lot of little things to do during the installation. The instructions are very thorough and accurate and the opener works extremely well.

When I got home last night, after using the opener for 3 days, I noticed that the light was no longer working. I checked the power to it, replaced the bulbs and attempted to reprogram it. Bottom line is that the light simply stopped responding to commands from the head unit and the wall-mounted control. Unlike conventional garage door openers the light is 'wireless' in that it receives commands to turn on and off remotely. You simply plug it into an outlet anywhere in the garage. This, evidently, was a scenario Chamberlain's customer service was not prepared for. Despite giving them my model number the representative could not come to grips... Read more

Let me start off by saying that this is NOT a garage door opener to purchase if you can get away with a more traditional style, suspended from the ceiling, track door opener. My new house has a load bearing beam that was 2 3/4" short of allowing me to install my first choice, the Chamberlain �hp Whisper Drive. I didn't know that until I ordered it, but thankfully Amazon was awesome, as usual, and took the unit back for the full purchase price. Thank you Amazon!

My neighbor was exceptionally vocal against the choice of the Chamberlain 3800 Jackshaft opener stating that they had checked into this option and the local Home Depot had stopped selling the unit because of "all the trouble with the installation of the damn thing". That is partially true, Home Depot & the local Lowe's do not sell this unit. Why they no longer carry it, I do not know for sure, but you can't buy it locally.

I took my time in installing it and everything went fine, but I do have one problem. This opener relies on gravity to lower the door. The problem with this is that I need to raise the door all the way up so that I can use the maximum size of the door opening. If you do this, none of the door will hang below the curve on the tracks to get the door dropping. I ended up having to stop the door at least a foot below the top of the opening. This would present a problem with driving a tall item through the door (I have a truck camper we store in this building). Customer service at both the door manufacturer and at Liftmaster were of no help. Two possible solutions come to mind, but I haven't tried either of them yet. Raising the rear of the tracks so that the door is angled down in the front when it is in the track might help or a bungee cord, anchored below the halfway point in the vertical track would put some tension on the door in the upright position but not affect it when it was down... We purchased this item to put into a home we just bought. Among other things missing the previous owners took the garage door opener. So we shopped around and found this model. It was what we were looking for at the price we wanted to spend. I ordered the item and it was delivered on time. We then proceeded to call a company to install it for us. A local garage door company charged a reasonable price for installation. The only thing the installer said was an issue was the wires coming from the senors to the wall weren't long enough. We have been in the new house for two weeks now and have had no problems with the opener. This model is exactly what it states to be. It is functional and very fast. Our previous home had a loud motor and was very slow. This one is on the quiet side (not silent) and very fast. It also has a good signal reach on it so you can open it when your further away. We are satisfied with the product and would recommend it for others. Good price for the product.

Installation took me 5 hours, this includes removal of old unit and beefing up new attachment points. This unit is pretty slow. Takes 12 seconds to go up or down. My 22 year old chain drive took 10 seconds. Very quite I think. The keyless wireless unit is not included. This costs another $27. My old keyless wasn't compatible with this opener. Instructions could be better. After assembling the track, flip it over before mounting it on the motor head assy. Also, twist both of the white with black stripe wires from each eye together and then do the same with both white wires before inserting into the head assy. Otherwise it's pretty good

I have have bought and installed two Chamberlain 3/4 HP garage door openers on my two wood double garage doors. They were easy to install and have worked flawlessly for the past year. I have just installed this 1/2 HP opener on the third garage which has an aluminum light weight door. The installation again was easy and adjustment quick. This kit is different from the others in that it only includes one remote which has only one button. The others had two remotes and three buttons each. Easy to program the cars and the other button to this door opener. Additionally, there is no lock out button or manual light button with this one like the others, just a doorbell button to open and close it. In short, if this were the only opener that I had, it is a little short on features. Since it is a secondary opener, and works with the others, it is just fine.

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this garage door opener. I did a lot of research and new that I was getting a good product, but I have never installed a garage door opener before.

I received the product in a timely fashion, but it sat for a week before I could get to it. I recruited my brother and father to help me install it. The install was very easy. I had to improvise a bit since the installation requires additional lumbar and hardware that doesn't come in the box. That is acceptable though, since every installation is different.

Besides that, it took me about four hours to install. The product is AMAZING! Quiet, fast, and safe. Everyone who hears it, comments about how quiet it is. The sensor on the control unit turns the lights on when I walk into the garage. No need to reach for the light switch.

I've owned this opener for about 6 months. It was easy to install and I'm very pleased with the quiet operation. However, after about one month of use, the battery became completely discharged. This would not be a big deal since I really don't care about this feature but the opener beeps every 30 seconds to let you know of the issue. So, now I have to remove the battery on a monthly basis (not an easy task by the way) and recharge it just to get the opener to quit beepeing. The most disappointing part is that I emailed Chamberlain customer service several times but never got a response. Without this issue and the poor customer service, the opener would have received 4 stars.

This is in my opinion the best door opener on the market. It really is very quiet in comparison to chain door openers and people have commented about it. It features a heavy duty belt drive, two remotes, a keypad, a sensor that turns on the light for you, and best of all, battery backup operation. So if the power goes out this ones still works. I don't believe any other unit on the market has this feature. I got my unit on sale at Menards for $189.
There are some potential cons. I had someone install it for me, and even though he routinely installs garage door openers, he had a fair amount of trouble getting the remotes programmed, although everything else went smoothly. The 800, number's automated menues left me with the impression that this is a common problem.
I have had the power go out twice since I got this, and the first time the battery backup inexplicably didn't work, but the second time it worked flawlessly.

We used to have a 1/3 HP garage door opener, and it gave us nothing but problems. We have a metal folding garage door with wood panels on the outside. Whenever there was overnight moisture, we would not be able to open the garage door. The door would become soaked when it rained, and it was very heavy.

Not a problem for this 3/4 HP garage door opener from Chamberlain. It opens our heavy garage door every time, and it's also very quiet. No loud mechanical or electrical noises when it's operating.

The box that it came in is not that large. It includes the railings in sections. The rail comes together from the pieces to form one permanent long piece. At first, we thought it would be very difficult to install this opener, but in fact it was very easy. We took our time to make sure it was installed right, and the total time was about 1 hour. The instructions were clear and the installation was surprisingly a breeze.

After getting a quote from my local garage door installer to put in a new garage door opener, I decided to do it myself. He wanted $1200. The directions were written well and I was able to use the mounting brackets from my old unit. I also used the existing wiring so that only took a few minutes. The biggest surprise was that when I tested it, it was super quiet. I have a really heavy wood sectional garage door, and you can barely hear it opening. Took me a few hours but I saved a ton of money.

I looked around and did some research and decided to buy the Chamberlain.
The installation was very easy since I used some of the hardware from my old door opener, even though I really took my time (total of 6 hours)and installed it by myself. Instructions were written out very clearly so you cannot get confused. I had this new opener for 3 months and its performance is outstanding, it is very quiet and lifts the door without any problems although the door is all wood and is very heavy.

I just installed the opener today. Fairly easy to install. I was able to use some of the exisiting hardware from the previous installation so I didn't have to worry about hangers or the wall or door mounts. The settings were pretty close right out of the box for distance and force. This has all the safety features that I was looking for plus it is very quiet. It is below our bedroom so I went with the belt drive. Much quieter than the LiftMaster chain drive it replaced. Besides all the usual bells and whistles that pretty much all the combo sets have (2 openers, rolling code, outside keypad, safety beam eyes) it has a cool feature that lets you add devices from the wall mount so you don't have to get up on a stool or ladder to press the "learn" button on the motor. The 2 100 watt lights are nice and bright. So far no complaints.

We recently purchased and installed a WD822K Whisper Drive with the Amazon value pack. We are delighted with the opener. It truly is MUCH quieter than the aging Sears unit we replaced, or the LiftMaster it sits alongside. Of course, Chamberlain units are sold both as Sears and also as LiftMasters.
--The instructions for installation are good. We followed them carefully. The length of the installation guide can be frightening, but realize that it's long because it's clear and complete. Performing a reinstallation is very straightforward, but don't believe that it's an hour. Allow 2.5 to 3.5 hours, and read the instruction through completely the night before. With that, it's just a matter of doing as you're told.
--We were able to reuse the low voltage wiring for the switch, and the eye sensors. We also kept our old eye sensors in operation rather than install the ones that came with the Whisper drive (at least fot the time being). We needed to add a 2X4 as a header in... Read more

Now that I have this opener installed, it works quite well. It's significantly quieter than the one it replaced (an old Stanley chain drive), and we've had no problems with it.

However, I found the installation to be a mixed bag. The instructions are clear and complete. The pieces were all there, and they all fit together properly. That's more than I can say for a lot of other products I've tried to assemble. But, at least for our installation, it seemed like there was too much stuff "not included." Aside from the pieces in the box, I had to supply: a bracket, bolts and nuts for mounting the opener to the ceiling (thankfully the hardware from the old opener worked with some slight modification); a reinforcement, bolts and nuts for attaching the opener arm to the wood garage door; extension brackets hardware to mount the electronic eyes to the floor by the garage door; additional cable staples to hold down the sensor wires.
