Graduation Makeup Ideas! Grad Makeup Artist!

Exfoliate!
Prep your skin before start doing your makeup. Use a very gentle face exfoliator. For example Clinique 7Day Scrub ($22CAD). Your makeup will stay longer and you will get a very soft finish. Plus your skin will be radiant.
Cleanse!
Use a liquid gentle face soap like Clinique Mild Liquid Facial Soap if you have a normal combination skin type or Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula if you have oily skin.($20CAD) Or you may also use a rinse off foaming cleanser.
Follow up with a toner. Ex: Dior Matifying Toner ($38CAD)
Moisturize!
Ideal you would use Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum ($100CAD)before moisturizer. A good moisturizer for a teenager is an oil free one, lightweight, meant to add only water into your skin. Ex: HydrAction Sorbet Creme from Dior.($61CAD)
Face Grad Makeup!
Foundation. Choose a tinted moisturizer or a very lightweight oil-free foundation. My recommendation is the new mineral Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup Spf10.($47CAD).
Then grab a fat powder brush and sweep some Diorskin Nude Compact Natural Glow Powder all over your face.($52CAD) It gives you a warm glowy finish and it helps your makeup to sit.
Use an up-lighting concealer as in the picture above. I use Skinflash from Dior all the time. I simply love it.($48CAD) Celebrities favorite up-lighting.
Eyes Grad Makeup!
Christian Dior 5 Colors Designer Eyeshadow in shade #708 Amber Design.($60CAD) Apply it as in the picture above. The lightest shade is a creamy base. use it first all over your eye lid. Then apply the color in the middle in the crease. Blend it nicely before you go further.
Grab Some Shadow. The brown color - on top corner left. Apply it on your eyelid half way to the corner just like in the picture. Blend! The next step is to use the Shine - on top corner right. Apply the shine right under your brows and in the inner corner of your eye lid. The last step is the liner. Start like in the picture where your iris starts and follow your eyelashes all the way to the corner. The line has to be a little wider at the end.
Mascara. I recommend you to use the new Diorshow Extase Mascara.($35CAD)
Cheeks Makeup!
As blush I used Clinique Blushing Blush in shade Precious Posy#110.($24CAD) A very soft and pretty blush.
Lips Grad Makeup!
I used Dior Lipliner Pencil in shade #213 Natural Beige($26CAD) all over lips as a base. This way the color will be fixed and longer lasting. As lipstick I used Dior Addict High Shine in shade #260 Couture Pink. Dab on top of your lipstick some Dior Lip Maximizer for sensual lips.($37CAD)
Finish your makeup with Diorshow Powder Loose in shade#012. It gives you a perfect glowy and radiant look! Sweep a little bit on your neck and decolletage as well. The effect is spectacular!

Famous actress MONICA BELLUCCI is one of the most beautiful women in the world. She is not only very pretty but also very glamorous.
I will talk a little bit about the makeup she's wearing in this picture. Since Monica Bellucci is the spokeswomen for Christian Dior, her makeup is obviously Dior.
For her face, Dior Makeup Artist used Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup Light Beige N°020. As Concealer an Up-lighting Skinflash Sunbeam 003. I have to mention here that Skinflash is my favorite concealer ever. It's a gorgeous product.
For her eyes makeup, they used Palette 5 Couleurs Designer Smoky Design N°008. Dior eyeshadows are famous for their pigment.
Dior Style Liner Intense Liquid Eyeliner Black N°094, gives her eyes more defined shape.
On her lips Monica was wearing a beautiful nude lipstick shade. Dior Addict Lip Color Beige Négligée N°223 and Lip maximizer on top. Dior Lip maximizer is a collage active clear treatment with a glossy finish. Once you've tried it you realize you can't live without it. It's a must have!
As a blush the famous actress was wearing Diorblush English Rose N°733. Such a soft and pretty shade!

Sephora Vancouver Downtown - The worst place to shop! Nonhygienic, nonprofessionals...

Wednesday - March 3rd 2010 at about 6 pm
I'm in Sephora at Pacific Center, Downtown Vancouver. I'm in front of Dior, browsing... Here is a lady(a customer)... She's opening an eyeliner box...She's pulling the product out of the box...She's closing the empty the box and put it back. I am ready to approach her but...wait...It's getting even more interesting. She's breaking the seal of the Diorliner and she's trying it on. So far so good. She's pulling an Unlimited Mascara out of the box. The same thing... And....After trying it on she's putting it back in box and the box back on the shelve!!!!!!! What is going on here?!!!! I'm looking for a beauty consultant or for someone I can to talk to.What I've just seen it's not right... I am completely shocked! Here is a guy in black...I'm thinking he might be an employee.. I'm approaching him...I'm not even finishing my sentence...he's interrupting me saying"Oh, we don't have Dior here..." I can hardly speak...Shocking!!!I am pointing to the Dior stand... He's like:"Oh, oh, I am sorry...This time I am the one to interrupt him. I'm telling him what I've just seen and that it's not right at all...It's a matter of hygiene first of all. By the way, meanwhile, that lady keeps going opening products, trying them on and putting them back... Here is the Sephora employee answer: " Ok...I will watch the lady." And he's leaving... OH, my God!!!! Unbelievable!!! I'm speechless thinking of the people they shop here. Imagine you are getting that mascara that's been opened and tried on. It would be hard for you to tell if you check it before you buy it because they don't have a seal. I haven't seen anything like that in my whole life. And I traveled a lot around the world. I've visited so many Sephoras... I've always thought Sephora is a wrong concept for selling certain makeup items. They have very low hygiene standards. Their testers are always messy. That's obviously why that lady was opening the products to try them on. I don't blame her for not wanting to use the testers. Because they look disgusting. In my opinion that lady needed the assistance of a Dior beauty expert. She should go to The Bay and get a makeup consultation. This way she can get the best advice and she can try the products. A beauty expert always respects the hygiene standards because it's a part of her job.
And besides, at Sephora people are shopping randomly. Everyone needs an expert advice when it comes to cosmetics shopping. It's not like you are buying a top. You get your size and you're good to go. Cosmetics are more than that. There are different textures for different skintypes and skin needs. We are all different.
I was so excited last year when Sephora opened their first branch in Vancouver. Now I know I will never shop there and I will tell everyone I know it's better not to shop there.
Nonhygienic, poor quality service, nonprofessionals...that's Sephora Downtown Vancouver! What a shame!

Rouge Coco Chanel - Review! New Lipstick 2010!

Rouge Coco de Chanel is the name of the new Chanel lipstick. When I've first heard about this new lipstick coming I was very excited. My excitement lasted only until I've seen and I've tried the product. I am honestly very disappointed.
A very boring package made up for the main street. I was expecting for something a little different that their old lipsticks packaging. I know their designers consider the Chanel black simple tubes very classy. I personally thing their black plastic cases are rather boring and cheap looking than classy.
As for the texture of this new lipstick, there is nothing exciting about it. Other high end makeup brands came up with wonderful lipstick textures a while ago. It seems like Chanel can only copy other brands lately.
They also look very desperate in trying to sell this lipstick. The company spends lots of money in radio advertising. I don't blame them. I can totally understand how afraid they are. Let's face it. It's not a great lipstick and they have to sell it.

It doesn't justify the price they sell for. I actually find the price point of this product a little offensive for a product which is not "great".

I've always had a problem organizing all my makeup and skincare. As a makeup artist and as a woman I have lots of makeup, skincare, makeup brushes.....I find very difficult to keep them organized and handy at the same time.
It happened that those organizers came on my way lately.
I was impressed to discover such simple plastic organizers.

Natural Hair Makeup Brushes versus Synthetic Brushes

All professional Makeup Artists or Beauty Experts know how important it is to use the right makeup formula to creating a perfect complexion, well defined cheekbones and stand-out eyes. But using the right makeup bushes is just as important.
Lots of people ask me every day what's a better makeup brush? Synthetic or natural hair? It is a matter of personal preference which kind you'd like to buy. I will talk a little bit about the difference between natural hair makeup brushes and synthetic. Natural hair bristles are very flexible and you get a better finish. You also have them for years. Good quality, brand name makeup brushes are the best option and a good investment. Recommended makeup brands: Dior, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Stila, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Lancome.
However, for liquids or creams, the best option would be using a synthetic brush. They absorb less product. Very good brushes for liquids and cream textures are foundation and concealer brushes. Recommended brands: Dior, MAC, Clinique, Stila, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown.
As long as you take good care of your makeup brushes you will have them for a very long time.
It is very important you clean them regularly (once, twice a week). You may use a brush cleanser or gentle shampoo. If you use shampoo, rinse off your makeup brushes very well and then lay flat to dry. I personally use a brush cleanser. It is easier. All you have to do is to spray the bristle with the brush cleanser. Then sweep on a tissue to clean the bristle. Recommended brands for brush cleansers: Clinique, MAC, Beauty So Clean.
A dirty brush doesn't give you the same soft finish and can harbour bacteria.

Purifying Foaming Cleanser
The other day I went shopping to a drug store cross the street. Since I was there I was thinking of checking out Marcelle in the cosmetics section. A while ago I wrote a review about their make-up. I really liked their products so now I wanted to check and see what's new. I was very surprised to discover on the Marcelle counter a product that got all my attention. First it was the color and the package. A beautiful aqua marine liquid in a clear bottle.
Now I have to say here that I can only use mousse cleansers for my skin. I like the gentle texture of a mousse because I have very sensitive skin but very oily at the same time. I am getting very shiny on the t-zone by the end of the day. I also love the idea of having a makeup remover and skin cleanser with a pump which is very easy to use in the shower. Tubes simply doesn't work for me. There are lots of amazing makeup removers or skin cleansers they come in a tube. I can't use any of them because of the packaging. I used to use Clinique Foaming Mousse Cleanser all the time until I couldn't find it at The Bay any longer. They've told me they are not making it any more...I was very unhappy.
And now...I've seen this product. So perfect. That's exactly what I was looking for everywhere. I've found the same thing at Guerlain but it's around 50$. And I didn't feel like spending so much on a cleanser. Anyway...I looked at the price of this Foaming cleanser from Marcelle-$12.50. How amazing! And Made in Canada.
I read what it's says on the bottle. It's for oily skin, acne - prone. "Cleanses and refines pores for healthy skin. I wondered if it wasn't too strong or too harsh for my skin. I am not a teenager. I am in my 30's. But then I said to myself: "At this price it is worth it a try." So I got it! I have to tell you it feels so good to buy a product MADE IN CANADA.
Once I got home I've used it right away. I was so curious and I couldn`t wait. I LOVE IT! It's fragrance free! So the smell doesn`t bother me. It`s very gentle and soft. It feels nice on the skin. After you rinse it off with warm water leaves the skin clean and comfortable. I`ve also noticed a little improvement with my shine during the day. It seems like it controls the oil as well.
And one more thing. I`ve dropped it on the tile in the bathroom a few times. It has a very strong, good quality container since it didn`t even scratch.
I am so impressed with this product. Such a good quality for such a good price.
