We depend on your prayers, and we thank God often for the committed prayer warriors who intercede on behalf of MTC and children at risk. Below you will find what some of our ministry partners pray for the Mission to Children.

Malawian Children’s Camp

Mission To Children will be supporting a two-day camp for 1,000 children from Dzuole ranging in age from 5 to 14. During the camp they will hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make a five-colored “salvation bracelet.” They will also receive nutritious meals, learn songs, hear stories, and play games. Each of them will leave with a small gift, such as soap or crayons.

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus. No Turning Back

Time and again the Scriptures sing the stories of men and women who, once convinced of the path they should take, trusted God and walked that path without retreating. For each of them there was no turning back. Each demonstrates the character quality called Conviction, which we describe behaviorally as "holding a value or belief so firmly that it influences my attitudes or actions."

Monthly Focus, Resurrection Dinners continue MTC Tradition

Generous giving to Resurrection dinners this month will provide outreaches in about 12 countries around the world. A meal and a small gift averages about $3.50 per child. A Gospel presentation and delicious meal are part of the package. Our international partners demonstrate God’s love to these often-neglected children.

"The More than a Million project is a God-given gift to the people of India." Our CSI ministry partner recently emailed this heartening message along with reports from pastors throughout India. Here is what God is doing in India through Character Solutions as God equips and empowers His people to reach out to their neighbors. A pastor from Orissa writes: "In the recent past our state has faced major persecution . . . CSI has come to India at the right time, with right teaching. In our state we are imparting Christlike Character [our Bible Teacher’s Guide] to hundreds of pastors and Cultivating Character [our character guide for educators] to secular schools. As a result of our training . . . we are seeing that Cultivating Character is building a bridge between two communities which can lead to communal healing and reconciliation. Our state needs Christlike pastors. Thank God for the ministry of CSI."

Monthly Focus, Isn't the Gospel Enough?

There are two correct answers. If we are speaking of presenting God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, the correct answer is, "Yes! The Gospel is enough." The child who believes according to the Scriptures will be spared the wages of sin and receive the gift of God: Eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 10:9-10). However, if we are speaking of showing our love for God by loving others as He does, then the correct answer is "No. The Gospel is not enough." Why not? Because God gave us not only His grace-filled Gospel but also His very practical golden rule: "Whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 7:12).

The lepers of today are ostracized from the community just as they were in the times of Christ. Yet they welcome MTC’s help with grateful hearts. MTC provides a “bundle of love” for our friends in the leper community. Each bundle costs approximately $30, and includes necessities of life such as a Bible portion, a blanket, medical supplies, clothing, special footwear and/or food. Will you respond with God’s love and encourage these marginalized citizens of India?

Leaders whom Dr. Garmo recently met in India say God has brought this training in His perfect timing to serve this country of 1.2 billion people. One of the tools for character formation is Mission To Children's newly-developed Bible Teacher's Guide. Entitled "Christlikeness,” it links Bible stories and verses with each of the ten character qualities.

This month we reach out with God’s love to AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe by supporting five-day camps. Each camp offers children the opportunity to learn Biblically-based life skills. These training workshops are interspersed with counseling, singing praise songs, and sports.

Conviction is one of ten core character qualities we train and encourage orphanage workers, parents, and teachers to help their children cultivate. It is one way they show evidence of personal responsibility for their attitudes and behaviors. Dictionaries describe conviction as an unshakable faith in something or someone based upon facts or presumed truth.
