The new blog will be using a new color scheme. The Colourful Wonderland Color Scheme palette has 4 colors which are Sunray (#ECB75C), Jasper (#D43737), Regalia (#4F317D) and Medium Sea Green (#46AE75).

Good Monday everyone. I hope you all took the time shift well. We are all now one hour into the past. Time shifts like this can cause all sorts of disruptions of a physical, psychological, or metaphysical nature. Luckily all paradox protocols were followed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and time is flowing at its normal rate once more. Most, if not all, metaphysical disruptions have been mitigated. To alleviate any physical or psychological affects you may have encountered, it is recommended you take a least a one-hour nap.

Happy Friday. It’s been raining all day and the temperature has dropped into the 40s(F). Fitting. It was a fairly okay and productive day until rumors reached me Twitter could be ending its newsletter service. That would suck, I use that for my newsletter. I moved to Revue (Twitter’s service) several month ago. I really like it’s easy of use. Unfortunately, now it looks like I’m about to move to yet another service. Substack maybe? I don’t plan to move to something like MailChimp. Any recommendations?

I’m really liking this flavor of AHA sparkling water, Blackberry + Lemon. I do like other flavors such as Strawberry + Cucumber, Citrus + Green Tea, and Orange + Grapefruit, but I think Blackberry + Lemon would rate high on the list if I were to rank them.

It was quite dark this morning on the drive to work. I dull grey overcast morning to be sure. I think everyone here at the office was dragging their feet to start the workday, myself included. Otherwise, it’s been a typical Thursday. Taking phone calls, answering emails, and a little time to do some random coding and research here and there.

Nothing like a nice cold glass of freshly brewed poison to get you through an afternoon of coding. I ended up doing something different yesterday after all. I decided it was time to refresh my own blog. It was feeling rather stale and unloved. I hope to have it all done in a few days, time permitting that is.

I hope you are well this morning. Going to be a nice light day of coding here in my office. No pressing projects, light tech support, and an opportunity to learn something new. I’m not sure what would have priority right now. Learning how to make WordPress plugins or diving some more into either C#, Vue JS, or maybe PHP or Python. I would like to learn how to write iOS apps, but my old mac mini is just not up to running XCode. I’m sure I’ll find something interesting.

It was really really windy today. Welcome to a way past due edition of Frizzy Hair Friday. I hope you all are doing well.

So today marks a full week of being back in the office. Not anything exciting really, only I was able to get some work done quicker. Working from home was okay, but there were way too many distractions and my laptop isn’t the fastest of machines. I think maybe next week we’ll be opening the storefront back to the general public.

\Is the crises over? Not by a long shot. I feel our state has “reopened” much too soon. We will see. Watch those infected numbers. Here at the office we’ve been taking as many precautions as we can: wearing masks, keeping distance, and cleaning everything.

Speaking of masks, the first shipment of cloth masks has finally arrived. I ordered these almost a month ago. I guess they had to be shipped from China. I assume that since the instructions on the package are written in Chinese. Up until today we’ve been using bandanas and disposable paper masks. Donna has been wearing a paper mask for her entire shift. Hopefully, these cotton masks will be a little more comfortable.

Removing the Facebook App

Dear Facebook Friends,

I'm deleting the Facebook app off my phone. Any posting there will be mostly from Instagram or whenever I'm logged in on my desktop. I'm not removing my account, I still need it, but I will be doing much much less on my personal page.

I still have Messenger installed to chat with all of you, but I'm taking this time to reduce the social media noise in my life. (and improve the battery life on my phone)

The Next Time I ...

I think the next time I rebuild this blog I'll do it using VueJS and Bulma.

Which means I'll have to build two projects a front end with Vue and a back end using ... hmm. I'm not too sure yet. I'll have to get back to you on that.

So why use Bulma instead of Bootstrap? The styles are similar, but Bulma is just CSS. I've been using Bootstrap for a while. It has been my go to, but I'm interested in trying something new and a bit lighter.

All that's left to do is plan it all out. I still have a few questions I'll need to answer mostly about the back end. REST or GraphQL? Node/Express, .NET core, or something else?

So now were did I put my notebook?

Is Facebook a monopoly?

Is Facebook a monopoly? That's been in the news lately. Actually that's been in the news for years now.

I don't think they're a monopoly. You don't have to use Facebook. You don't have to use Facebook services. You don't even really need to see Facebook ads with the right plug-ins installed. There are plenty of alternative social networks out there. With more coming online all the time.

Is Facebook too big? Definitely. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if Instagram and WhatsApp were spun-off.

Does Facebook have problems? For sure. Just read the latest security news.

Should Facebook be broken up? Um, Why? It's not like they are 1970s AT&T.

What do you think? Please share your thoughts below.

Taking a RAW and SMACKDOWN Hiatus

I think I'm going to take a WWE RAW and SMACKDOWN hiatus for a month or so. RAW especially needs to improve. It's becomea boring and stale 3 hours slog.

I don't even think I'll watch the upcoming Stomping Grounds PPV. I'll probably watch the WrestleCircus event on Twitch instead.

I'll keep up with things via YouTube and podcasts, and will continue to watch NXT and NXT UK every week. Good stuff NXT.

I hope WWE can find a way to improve things on RAW and SMACKDOWN. Especially before the big FOX move for SMACKDOWN and AEW launching later this fall.

It's time once again for another edition of Frizzy Hair Friday. Hair not so bad today, some days just not frizzy.

Donna and I had Chicken Express for lunch today. We both had the 4 Express Tenders combo meal with french fries, gravy and a roll. A rather tasty meal. Chicken Express is relativity new here in Elk City. I hope to eat there more often for something besides my usual Braums or Taco Bell. Yes we do have a KFC, but its on the far west side of town and I don't often go that way around lunch.

Yes it's been real exciting around here. That's why the lunch lead. Ha.

I've been busy learning NativeScript and Vue for the last few weeks. So that's been taking up most of my free time. Really interesting platforms.
I'm hoping by learning NativeScript I'll be able to publish some Android or iOS apps. Just need to find the write project.

This why I haven't put out a new Blog Oklahoma Podcast episode in a while. Something I hope to rectify in a few weeks.

What the hell happened to the AAF? It was going great. Some great games. Now they're shutdown. I sense shenanigans. I know all my fellow SA Commander fans are very confused and disappointed. Oh well lets see if the relaunch of the XFL will succeed.

As I posted last week on social, I'm still saddened to say our little kitten Pixie Heart passed away. She just couldn't shake a case of pneumonia. She was a fearless little kitten born on the streets who decided one day to just walk in to the house and adopt us.

Well lets not end this on a bummer.

I just finished a couple of good books. I can highly recommend SevenEves by Neal Stephenson and Second Hand Curses by Drew Hayes. The first is a hard sci-fi epic and the other is a light fantasy. Currently I'm reading Junk by Les Bohem. I'm about halfway through it. It's been good so far. Kind of a sci-fi thriller.

Giving Up On MeWe

I'm officially giving up on MeWe. I did the final test, the Google+ Data Import. It was slow, but it worked. Never did get a notice it finished.

There are some things to like about MeWe, but the more you spend on it the more the cons outweigh the pros. No documentation. No global moderation. Getting public groups going is near impossible unless you spam other groups about yours. You just can't get traction. And unlisted rules about posts and the public directory are really annoying.

Oh and not to mention MeWe is infected with RWNJs and you're constantly running into trolls on the pull. SMH.

I'm keeping my profile up so I can check in on the service from time to time. Maybe it will improve and the population will grow up. I seriously doubt it though.

It was almost fun MeWe, but no. Off to spend more time elsewhere.
