Tom introduced himself to a couple who live in Texas. Their son-in-law is a registered dentist in Sierra Leone.  I have contacted him and he is considering working with us.  He needs to check with the governing committee in Sierra Leone and with his mission board before making a final decision.  

Please pray for God's perfect will to be done.

We hope to meet the local dentist tomorrow, Wednesday 11/24, to seek a cover letter to authorize us to go into the adjacent district and to seek his help with a colleague to get another cover letter to move into a third district.  Please pray for that we receive authorization to move into our third district.

God has blessed us with 3600 pairs of glasses from the Lions Club.  However, the airline has reduced the bag allowance from 2 to 1, and has increased the cost for additional bags.  We estimate the cost for the extra bags to be $1200.  We are praying for a miracle at the airline counter to have this fee waived or significantly reduced.  Please join us in this prayer.

Also, please pray for the team in Africa as they finalize the plans for our trip. They are making arrangements to meet the the local dentist, and to survey one or two locations to start new dental clinics which will serve as headquarters for teams in adjacent districts. Praise the Lord for the answer to prayer for this dentist who has agree to work with us and allow us to work under his license.  He is the only dentist in a district with almost 1 million people!

We also hope to meet with all of the current team members to review their progress, to update their training, and encourage them in the faith and their efforts.

  • Pray for wisdom and direction as we plan our next trip over Thanksgiving, 2010. We leave November 18th and return on the 29th.
  • Pray for speedy approval of the application for tax exempt status with the IRS. Praise the Lord, we have receive the approval in near record time.  We are now a recognized 501(c)(3) Public Charity.
  • Pray for Pastor Johnson and Magnus as they seek approval from the Ministry of Health to allow them to move into surrounding districts. Praise the Lord, they have received the approval.

    We would ask for prayers for safe travel to Bo, support outpouring for the ministry and for our families during that week. It is a burden for our families to support us in this mission and have us gone during the holiday week. 

    Pray for the people that don't understand why we go. Pray for Brian and I to check our own hearts and to keep them focused while we are gone. A prayer for safe return would be appreciated, also! Amen.
