We will be providing basic neccessities to individuals in need. Also we will be getting groceries for people that cannot leave their house. They just need to emai us their grocery list we will pick up the groceries and deliver to their house on Tues or thur between 1 and 3. The fee for this will be 20.00 along with the grocery bill.

There are lots of things going on with Project Autoimmune. Every time we get in front of a group we are surprised by how many people and families are affected by autoimmune diseases. Over and over we hear, “It took years of misdiagnosis before the right combination of doctors or tests uncovered what was really going on”. We can’t wait to provide a centralized resource and therapy center for all our families. We may be able to see common threads from the experiences of other families and point people in the right direction more quickly. Project Autoimmune volunteers are getting in front of many organizations and doctors to grow this idea into a center for family care and resources. What Are AutoImmune Diseases?

Autoimmunity is present in every human to some extent. Our immune systems made up of a complex network of special cells and organs that defend the body from germs and other foreign invaders. At the core of the immune system is the ability to tell the difference between self and nonself: what’s you and what’s foreign.

An autoimmune disease occurs when a flaw makes the body unable to tell the difference between self and nonself. When this happens, the body makes autoantibodies (AW-toh-AN-teye-bah-deez) that attack normal cells by mistake. At the same time special cells called regulatory T cells fail to do their job of keeping the immune system in line. The result is a misguided attack on your own body. This causes the damage we know as autoimmune disease.

The body parts that are affected depend on the type of autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases are currently ranked as the number one cause of heart disease, cancer and all diseases. There are many autoimmune diseases. You may recognize some of the more widely known auto immune disease:

Hashimoto’s
Multiple sclerosis
Lupus
Graves’ disease
Myasthenia gravis
Crohn’s & Colitis
Sjogren’s syndrome
Rheumatoid arthritis
Primary biliary cirrhosis
Autoimmune hepatitis
Graves’ disease
