Affiliate Marketing is the hottest developing industry on the Net now. Revenue made by this channel runs into thousands of millions of dollars annually. A lot of people get involved in it without a solid business plan (failiure to plan is planning for failure). So, thousands want to earn additional income using affiliate marketing, but not having a real base plan, which is the most crucial aspect for being successful at affiliate marketing. Not having a plan is the downfall of many affiliates. Do you really want to be one of the tensofthousands who try? Or one of the hundreds that do?

Don't uphold any misconceptions, though affiliate marketing is an easy, personally and financially satisfying way or earning an extra income, it IS work, and just like any other job that requires effort, perseverance, and above all, a clear line of sight and plan of action from start to finish line.

Home Office Setup

The most important step to take before becoming an affiliate marketer is to set up your base - little home office you’ve always wanted.

You can find many resources on the internet about ergonomic design. Ergonomic because anyone intending to spend a major amount of time working on their computers need space which promotes good posture at the same time takes care of safety issues involving their office workspace.

The key thing is turn off the TV, hole yourself away from distractions, turn on your answer machine as you don't want your 2 hours of time to pass chatting to your great aunt Clara.

Learning the Trade

Nobody gets into work untrained. Even when you applied for your first job, you had made sure that you are qualified and can do justice to it. Putting in a nutshell, no one hires you for giving you a free extra income without basic training.

What you need then, is to get some training on how to become a professional affiliate marketer. You can start by finding another one and check what they can do to help you. Learn through forums, subscribe to blogs like this one. also check out the key ebooks like this one.

Set Realistic Goals

The major problem that plagues most affiliate marketers is that they tend to set themselves unrealistic goals by being over confident about their skills and plans. This results in becoming disenchanted very quickly due to non attainment of goals. Being realistic removes a lot of pain in this context. For example a goal of $5,000 a month realistically attainable, but a first time affiliate marketer is not likely to attain it when starting up. Look to start with a slow burn, it may take a couple of months to make your first commissions, but persist. Re invest your knowledge and learn by your mistakes. When something like this comes along I am usually tempted to buy it just to look in side and see what they really offer, as opposed to the "make money or your money back" claims that are followed by endless screenshots of clickbank reports packed with loads of dollars.

This product is actually software, and seems to do the job, just seed with a keyword and it will generate ads links etc for you. There seems to be very little to do accept to stump up the cash.

Google Shadow is another Clickbank / Google strategy aiming at making you loads of money!

Claims to generate profits of
$20,434 in a day and $44,453 in a week.
It is a automated system apparently that marries google with clickbank and amazon.

I believe that the claims are realistic, but it is not as easy as one would make out. It would require work and some significant money / personal cash injection over the $77 dollar subscription.

Like a lot of things this is a new business venture, not to be seen as a get rich quick scheme.

Last time we said that $5,000 dollars a month may be a little of a pipe dream for the short term goal (mid term is fine). Starting with a smaller objective like $100 to $1000 affiliate profit a month, at the same time remember that the affiliate marketing business can bee a steep learning curve, so keep on the ball and up to date.

The 'realistic' numbers above may seem small, but it is achievable and affiliate marketing being a continuous learning process. Keep goals achievable otherwise it is very easy to get dis heartened.

Remember, you are also learning how to do things successfully at the same time. Give it some lead time and you could substantially increase your extra income using affiliate marketing.

Revise your goals often, maybe every other week. Remember that these goals ought aim for one greater single goal that you want to achieve in terms of success or in terms of amount of money in your pocket. Write them down on paper and make sure they are in visible from your desk at all times. This will help focus you towards your goals.

The next step would be the most important in your career as an affiliate marketer to earn extra income. Go out of your way and into the field to make connections and contacts with relevant and useful people in the affiliate marketing industry.

Forums and Blogs

Read other forums, this and other affiliate marketing blogs and most importantly CONTRIBUTE. A constant 2 way stream of information is shared helping each other. Learn from each others mistakes.

Getting out there to help people would be a better attitude to take rather than just looking for business, since this field of marketing works on a principle which says “Help yourself by helping others.” This is a better philosophy to follow in the long run to make long lasting friends and building a business that gives long lasting extra income. People out there will certainly help you when you are willing to help and extend the hand first.

If you can try and relate to these people, which I am sure you can, since you will be sharing the same objectives as they do in the long run of generating a good extra income, will relieve a great deal of work stress and as a result you will be able to perform better.

The moment you invest a little money in someone else’s business, you cannot be ignored. They will take you seriously and you will shine… all the time making that extra income!

After 3 years of starting this blog I am bringing it back from the dead. With the current climate there is the temptations to venture into these get rich quick schemes and systems and people can lose a LOT of money attempting these. Many of which require investment past in initial $97 or whatever cover price of the product.

It is easy to let those adwords campaigns run on that little bit longer, or buy those few extra links, or think that getting a professional in will revamp your website and boost your sales.
NO, Don't Do It.

The whole idea of these systems is that the everyday Joe can put in the effort and minimum investment (a couple of hundred dollars) and actually start making a very good return on their time and profit. Always be wary of your pocket.

If you want some stuff to try for less than $2, check out this ebook, fantastic and a very good start / introduction to the world of affiliate marketing, and with this book you can start affiliate marketing with blogger blogs and other free access social media sites.

Woolworths were offering a 'too good to be true' offer on LCD TVs
Blast a pricing blunder though.
Orders for the TVs exploded - some reports have it at around 1000
It seems that a mixture of computer error and human inputting may have led to a zero being left off the end of the TVs' retail price.

This sort of thing has happened previously with mixed results - some retailers have let offers through, others have not.

Skype is to offer the KishKish Lie Detector, which is made by BATM, as an add-on for customers.

It analyses audio streams over a Skype call in real time and illustrates the stress levels of the other person.

Skype's software lets computer users talk to each other for free and make cheap calls to mobiles and landlines.

'Greatly enhance'

Paul Amery, director of Skype developer programme said: "This is a really excellent application, and the kind of thing we want to see more of.

"Lie Detector is the latest in a variety of product in our premium add-on programme which greatly enhance the Skype communication experience."

No price has yet been set on the application, or a roll-out date.

The lie detector is the latest products which Kishkish has designed for Skype users, with others including voice mail and call recorder.

BATM says it hopes to be able to provide Skype users with further additions in the near future.

As well as operating in real time the KishKish device can also record calls for analysis later.

The Nintendo wii has been a bit of a sucess story amongst some affiliates this year.

Amazon.co.uk famously sold out of their entire pre order stock in 7 minutes, creating a good many sales for affilites. Now with the official nintendo wii release date tomorrow gamers who haven't ordered a console yet will probably be dissapointed.
