Since it’s still snowy and cold in Ohio I wanted to post another shot from our trip to New England in June 2009. Here is a shot of the blossoms at Portland Head Lighthouse in Portland, Maine. It’s hard to find a picture of Portland Head that doesn’t include these prolific pink flowers.

During our trip to Boston in June, Dice-K was the starting pitcher for the Red Sox at the game we attended. I had the opportunity to grab some shots of him warming up before the game started.

Nothing like a big snow storm in February to remind everyone that we’re still months away from Spring (for anyone who thought maybe we were getting there early this year) The region was hit hard by a big storm that dropped 12+ inches of snow on our town. Most of the snow came on Friday night which means most of the weekend was spent inside preparing for the coming week.

Caught this shot on our last day in New England. We headed out to whale watch and as we sailed away from Gloucester, I was able to snap this shot before we were in open water. Nothing screams New England quite like a lighthouse for me – in my opinion this is one of the quintessential images from that trip.

Had the chance to attend the Toledo Rockets vs Colorado Buffalo football game in Toledo. With new head coach, Tim Beckman at the helm, the Rockets handed Colorado their second consecutive loss and their first ever at the hands of a MAC team.

While in Boston, we caught a Red Sox game at Fenway park. A thunderstorm threatened to postpone the game, but it cleared out just in time for them to clear the field and get the game underway. One of the most storied ballparks in all of baseball, Fenway was everything we hoped it would be.

This shot is from the coast of Maine. In June, we took a trip to New England and enjoyed our time traveling all over north east. Caught this shot at Portland Head lighthouse on a sunny weekday.

Caught this shot at the bottom of Hickory Nut Falls near Chimney Rock. It wasn’t an overly warm morning, but it was pretty humid and recent rains had filled the falls. This picture was taken in October, when we were at the falls in late June/early July the falls were barely a trickle – so it was good to see them picked up.

Wait Chapel is a building on the campus of Wake Forest University. It houses the Janet Jeffrey Carlile Harris Carillon of 48 bells. The chapel seats 2,250 people. The steeple reaches to 213 feet. The Chapel has a vast underground series of tunnels. It also houses the Williams Organ, donated by Walter McAdoo Williams, namesake of Walter M. Williams High School.

The first building constructed on the Reynolda campus of Wake Forest University, it was named in memory of Samuel Wait, the university’s first president, in October 1956.

In 1988, it hosted a presidential debate between George H. W. Bush and Michael Dukakis. On October 11, 2000, it hosted the presidential debate between candidates George W. Bush and Al Gore. On September 13, 2007 it hosted a broadcast of National Public Radio (NPR) show, Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me. The show aired on September 15.

Caught this shot hiking, once again, near Old Man’s Cave. The unique growth of this tree looks like the head of a snail to me. This tree is growing out over the cliff and perched more than 100 feet above the hiking trail below.
