In language arts, students write poems, stories, and haiku. Students learn why protecting the ocean is so important, and write creative stories to teach the lesson to others. They write poems about the deep blue ocean and practice developing powerful imagery in their writing. A special type of poem is a haiku, where each line has a specific number of syllables. After a summer of language arts, your writing jumps off the page and creates unforgettable images for the reader.
