It is important to know how to delete recent documents in Word format effectively. This way, you remain safe from Internet hackers and infiltrators. It is not out of the ordinary for any computer user to delete recent documents in word format. This is because you will surely accumulate a lot of files over time, and there will definitely be files you no longer need to retain in your system. Thus, you would then delete these files from your computer. However, you have to be very careful with this step.

Do you just delete your files by hitting the delete button? It is actually recommended to do more than that. You see, merely hitting the delete button would just send your files to your Recycle Bin. Once these are in the Recycle Bin, you would then have to empty this out, to get rid of the files. A lot of people think doing these steps is more than enough to process secure deletion of their files. There is a problem here, however. Yes, you can no longer see the physical icons representing your files in the folders they used to belong to. However, you have to understand that these files once occupied certain memory space in your computer. And this memory space is still in existence, up until this space would be overwritten by the creation of new files. Until such time, the files are at risk of infiltration by the many hackers all over the web.

You might think that no hacker would be interested in hacking your files at all. This is not true because hacking can happen to any person at any given time. Thus, you still have to be doubly careful, even if your files do not contain any sensitive or confidential information.

Hacking is still a violation of your privacy, and you have to protect this as much as possible. One effective way of protecting your right to Internet privacy is by installing certain applications in your computer. These programs include disk wipers and file shredders. Remember how the memory space has to be overwritten by the creation of files, to get rid of the deleted files effectively? This is the premise brought about by the technology of disk wipers. The only difference is there are no new files created at all. What happens is the mere overwriting of the memory space. Your files are then effectively deleted.

Meanwhile, file shredders work pretty much like the typical paper shredder you see in any office. Paper shredders physically shred any piece of paper inserted into the equipment. File shredders, on the other hand, digitally shred deleted files beyond recognition.

This way, hackers would have a difficult time piecing together the shredded pieces of any file they are interested in. Just choose either one of these applications, for they serve the same purpose. The key to choosing which particular application to go with pertains to the features of the software that would serve your needs the most. Once you have your application installed, you no longer have to worry every time you delete recent documents in word format. You are now assured of secure deletion , free from the risks of Internet privacy violation.

Sometimes your computer will have problems when you try to boot it from a hard drive. At theses times you may also not have any CDs or DVDs handy and may need to boot your computer immediately. An easy way to do this is creating a bootable USB drive and using it to boot the computer. Using the USB also allows you to run diagnostics on a computer that had previously refused to boot from the hard drive. It is easy to create a bootable USB using the following simple steps and no special software is needed.

The first thing you should do is to backup all the data that your USB drive may contain because it will be formatted in this process.

Open the command prompt of your computer

Go to the start button on your computer, click the all programs button, select the accessories folder and right click on the command prompt button. From the pop up menu, select run as administrator’.
Change the directory

Once the command prompt is open type in cd c:\windows\system32. This will change the directory to that of windows system32.

Ensure that your disk is plugged in

Once your USB drive is plugged in type DISKPART and press the enter button. Type in LIST DISK and press enter again. This command will bring a list of all the drives connected to your computer

Identify your disk from the command prompt

Once the list of all the disks in your computer has appeared, look for your USB drive. Be careful not to choose the wrong disk as you may damage and format other drives in your computer. If you are unsure, unplug your USB drive and repeat step 2, then plug in and repeat the step again, your disk should be the one that appeared later.

Once your disk is plugged in type in SELECT DISK [ your disk number]. It will tell you that the disk is selected.

Make it bootable

The first step is to format your drive so you will type in CLEAN then press enter

The next is to create a pertition from which the windows is to be placed CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY then press enter.

The next step is to select the created partition SELECT PARTITION 1 press enter

Activate the partition with: ACTIVE press enter

Now format the partition with FORMAT FS=NTFS press enter. Depending on the size of the drive, this may take a while.

Not which letters are allocated to both the DVD drive and your USB drive from the my computer window. I will use D for the DVD drive and H for the USB drive, change in accordance to how they are numbered in your computer.

From command prompt type in the following commands and press enter, substituting where necessary
