Hot sales of Iphone 5 (presell pieces were all sold out in 1 hour, while Iphone 4 took 26 hours, Iphone 4S took 22 hours) is a factor resulting in chip prices going up this week.

The word is that Apple have rushed production of up to 5 million handsets, soaking up all available chip manufacturing. - Higher than normal demand, means manufacturers can charge more - hence USB prices will be on the rise for the foreseeable future.

Be aware of rebirthed and 2nd grade chip sets during this time, as manufacturers try to combat the price rise.

Have you ever wondered why Custom Branded USB Flash Drives usually take 3-4 weeks to be delivered after your order?

This is due to the majority of the the Memory Sticks now being decorated and supplied directly Ex-Factory in China. With fluctuating Technology prices and the Australian Dollar coupled with cost effective Air Freight (due to the small size of USB's) it's just not frugal to stock massive ranges of USB Flash Drives in Australia.

Naturally, limited local stocks has also meant limited range choice. If there are any locally held USB drives, colour choice is usually Black or Blue, so if you have Urgent requirements, pickings have been slim.
