I want to compile Bible verses that can be used as affirmations and meditations for various situations in life in one book.

What is the main message in this book?

This book teaches us that we can use the Word of God to meditate and declare over our situations.

Can you leave us with one lesson from Christian Affirmations and Meditations?

One important lesson is that regardless of what you are going through, there is a Scripture that you can meditate on to put yourself in the right frame of mind and and confess with your mouth to frame your world the way The worlds were framed by the Word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)

What was your motivation for writing We Are Not Ignorant of His Devices?

This book evolved out of my Bible study sessions.

What is the main message in this book?

This book uses examples from the Bible to teach readers the strategies the devil uses to attack God’ people and it also shows them how to deal with each of those attacks.

Can you leave us with one lesson from We Are Not Ignorant of His Devices?

One important lesson that I learned that we have to be very careful not to defeat ourselves because sometimes when the enemy is unable to defeat us, he sets a trap for us to defeat ourselves. This lesson is covered in the chapter on the Device of Seduction which is from the book of Numbers when King Balaka hired Balaam to curse the Israelites but he was unable to do so even though he tried 3 times and he said, God has not seen iniquity in the Israelites or seen wickedness in them.” (Numbers 23:21)

Balaam then came up with a plan to make the Israelites sin by using this device of seduction for the Bible tells us that It was through the counsel of Balaam that the Israelites sinned against God in Peor and this caused the plague. (Numbers 31:16)

This sin that the Israelites sinned in Peor involved committing harlotry with the Moabite women (Numbers 25:1) and they were also invited to worshipped their gods. (Numbers 25:2) As a result, the Israelites aroused God’s anger and a plague erupted which killed 24,000 of them. Thus their own sinful actions destroyed them even though their enemies had been unable to harm them.

From Enemies to Delivery Boys of Prosperity

Have you been in a situation where failure is inevitable? You have done all you could. You search everywhere for a solution but nothing works. The attack is too powerful. You are too weak. God appears to be helpless.

If you do and you are a believer of Jesus Christ, then I have news for you.

1. God will deliver you.

2. Once he does, you are in for a great windfall.

IF you keep believing and don’t give up.

“How can you be so sure?”

The Bible says so. The Bible is the record of God’s love and commitment for us. If the Bible doesn’t work, God fails.

Can God fail?

No. This is impossible.

Therefore it must also be impossible for christians to be trapped in situation where failure is inevitable. There is always hope. There is always a way to overcome. I say this by the integrity of God’s Word.

2 Chronicles 20 is an example in which a major crisis of insurmountable proportion can be overcome with the simplest method. Not only that, once the crisis was over, prosperity flowed in.

King Jehoshaphat was confronted with a huge invasion force that he has no hope of defeating using the resources available to him.

1 After this, the armies of the Moabites, Ammonites, and some of the Meunites[a] declared war on Jehoshaphat.

2 Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army from Edom[b] is marching against you from beyond the Dead Sea.[c] They are already at Hazazon-tamar.” (This was another name for En-gedi.)

3 Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting.

4 So people from all the towns of Judah came to Jerusalem to seek the Lord’s help.

2 Chronicles 20:1-4 (NLT)

Even the news itself caused fear in his heart but he did one right thing. He turned to the Lord. He knew the Lord has the answer to every problem. The Lord answered.

14 the Spirit of the Lord came upon one of the men standing there. His name was Jahaziel son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite who was a descendant of Asaph.

15 He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

16 Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel.

17 But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”

2 Chronicles 20:14-17 (NLT)

What is he saying? Go out from your fortification, stand there and watch?

Isn’t that a risk? What if they attacked us? What if God’s plan doesn’t work?

All these are doubts arising from unbelief. If they allow it to consume their mind, they would not have obeyed God. Victory would not happen.

20 Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.”

21 After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang:

“Give thanks to the Lord;

his faithful love endures forever!”

22 At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves.

23 The armies of Moab and Ammon turned against their allies from Mount Seir and killed every one of them. After they had destroyed the army of Seir, they began attacking each other.

24 So when the army of Judah arrived at the lookout point in the wilderness, all they saw were dead bodies lying on the ground as far as they could see. Not a single one of the enemy had escaped.

2 Chronicles 20:20-22 (NLT)

The people did obey. They were reminded to believe.

“Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.”

Without believing, they would not have the courage to stand firm and be successful.

You may be facing a huge problem today. No matter how big your problem is, the first thing God wants you to do is to believe in him. You have to believe that he can and he will bring you out. Do whatever you can to strengthen your faith. You may choose to confess his Word, meditate on the scriptures, listening to faith messages or anything else you can think of. This is crucial because if you do not believe, you will not have the courage to stand firm and see your breakthrough.

They also sang a song.

“Give thanks to the Lord;

his faithful love endures forever!”

This song only has 2 contents, gratitude and love. This song is a form of confession. So, by singing this song, the people of God were making confessions. The confession of gratitude is a confirmation of faith because they were thanking God before they saw their answer while the confession of God’s faithful love provides a guarantee that God will deliver his promises.

Could this be something we must do when we face troubles in our lives?

1. We need to confess that God will bring us through and thank him in advance.

2. We need to confess his unfailing love as an assurance to our hearts.

Confessions will help to strengthen our faith in God. Only with strong faith, will we have the courage to obey God and do what he told us to do: Open the door, go out, face the enemies and see what God is doing.

The people of Judah had successfully used the song as their confession. This strengthened their faith and gave them courage. They went out and saw what God wanted them to see – their enemies defeated and dead. They saw only dead bodies. God kept his promise. The threat was gone. Is that all? No. God has another agenda.

25 King Jehoshaphat and his men went out to gather the plunder. They found vast amounts of equipment, clothing,[e] and other valuables—more than they could carry. There was so much plunder that it took them three days just to collect it all!

26 On the fourth day they gathered in the Valley of Blessing,[f] which got its name that day because the people praised and thanked the Lord there. It is still called the Valley of Blessing today.

2 Chronicles 20:25-26 (NLT)

It was plunder time. For some reasons, the invaders took along valuable items with them in this attack. I am very sure they did not meant it for the people of Judah. It must be God’s plan all along. The enemies may have evil intention to kill and subdue God’s people but God has other plans. He used these enemies as delivery boys to piggy back prosperity to his people. As a result, the people of Judah spent 3 days to collect valuables. (I am sure they are not “spiritual” valuables.)

Just imagine, what if the people of Judah did not obey God and went out from the city? They would have missed the delivery of prosperity.

Could this be the same scenario you are facing right now?

You are facing the greatest battle in your life. The attack looks so big that you can’t see any hope in the natural to defeat it. However, God is working behind the scenes right now. He is using this attack to piggy back prosperity to you. Here is a principle you should remember:

Great victory comes from great battle.

Small victory comes from small battle.

IF you keep believing and don’t give up.

The greater the attack you face, the greater the victory you will enjoy and the more prosperity you will receive. I am sure, after the people of Judah spent 3 days collecting valuables, some would wished the invaders size to be double so that they can have another 3 days (total of 6 days) to collect valuables!

So, if you are a believer and are facing the greatest battle in your life right now, I wish to congratulate you. Your prosperity will be great IF you keep believing and don’t give up.

Do what the people of Judah did, seek the Lord, confess gratitude and his love, and see the victory he has fought for you. Be prepared for the hard work of collecting valuables for 3 days.

27 Then all the men returned to Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat leading them, overjoyed that the Lord had given them victory over their enemies.

28 They marched into Jerusalem to the music of harps, lyres, and trumpets, and they proceeded to the Temple of the Lord.

29 When all the surrounding kingdoms heard that the Lord himself had fought against the enemies of Israel, the fear of God came over them.

30 So Jehoshaphat’s kingdom was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side.

2 Chronicles 20:27-29 (NLT)

God Wants Us All to be Saved and Prosper

Hebrews 6:12 …be followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

1 Timothy 6:17 …trust in God who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Hi, my name is Andrew Hittle. Did you know that God really desires for us all to be saved and prosper? Now I’ll try to stick to modern day language to help maintain a level of mutual understanding. I don’t want anybody to say that they have no idea what I am talking about. I was born April 1, 1979 into a Christian home and was taught the Word since my youth. The problem is, as I am sure you all know, some people tend to go their own ways. I got into alcohol and drugs and lost sight of God and His grace. I almost forgot about God completely and was living for myself. The good part is, other people were praying for me. It took a few years but I finally decided that my life was a wreck and I needed Jesus again. I decided to put down my flesh, my anger, my addiction, and my hate, and I repented and turned from my ways.

I was sober again and I felt great. I even went to Bible school and completed a 3 year coarse. God had begun to work on my spiritual development as well as my finances. Things were going really good, so it seemed. But, I had started running a construction business and I had gotten very busy. I wasn’t really making much time for God anymore, and the devil had found a weakness in me. He distracted me and stole my time. I made decent money for a little while but soon got back into the flesh and things slowly fell apart again.

Deuteronomy 8:17-19 You say in your heart; My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth. But you will remember the Lord your God for it is He who has given you the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenent which He swore to your fathers as it is this day. And it will be, if you do at all forget the Lord you God, and walk after other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you will surely perish.

Before I knew it, I was running my own life again, rather than letting God run my life. I felt like a disgrace. I knew God didn’t want me to live like that. How could I let the devil trick me into going back. I should have stayed close to God and given Him all the thanks for what He had done in my life. My finances were in a mess again and I was still living in the flesh. Finally, I decided enough was enough. No one could decide for me. I knew the Word was true, and that God desired for me to be saved. But being in a state of sin, I really had no assurance of making heaven. I didn't want to live in that fear anymore. All glory and honor goes to God for having grace and mercy on me. I repented and turned from my sinful life again. I got back into the Bible and starting studying hard. I started praying for 1-3 hours a day, and confessing the word over my own life, even at work. God has given me an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. In God’s eyes I am righteous (or in right standing) with Him. I can now go to Him anytime I want and know that He hears me. Once again I am walking in God’s favor in every area of my life.

I am married with 4 children and I am pleased to say that my marriage is doing awesome. I pray for my kids every day so I know they will grow up to serve God like I am. I am serving God with my whole heart now and I am NEVER turning back. Since I allowed Jesus to take control of my life again, He helps me through life, and guides my steps. When a problem comes up, He is always there with me.

I guess if you don’t know anything about the Bible, then you probably don’t know that John 3:16 says that God gave His only Son Jesus, (to die in our place for OUR sins) so that we could have everlasting life by believing in Him. I guess you may not know this either; that Romans 10:9 says that if you say with your mouth “Jesus, Be My Lord.” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (I have paraphrased these verses so that the average person can understand what they mean.) So, if you have never confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, just do it right now. Romans 10:10 says with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. So, just say this: “Jesus, please be my Lord and Savior. I believe you died for me and God raised you from the dead.” It is as simple as that. Great.

Now, the way to get the manifestation of God’s Word in your life for other things is very similar to what you just did. It is to confess the Word and personalize it for yourself. The only difference is, NOW you need to meditate on it day and night. I know this sounds a little excessive but God has to know that you are serious. Plus according to Hebrews 11:6 it is impossible to please God without faith. It also says He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Now this doesn’t mean that sitting in a church service will bring you faith. Many churches never even include a single verse from the Bible in an entire sermon. I am talking about the actual written Word. John 1:1 basically says that the Word is God. Therefore by reading the Word to ourselves, we are literally hearing God Himself speaking to us and faith is coming. He has set out every provision for our lives right there in His Word. All we have to do is find a verse and claim it as our own.

Let me give you a few examples. You can say these things to God and actually believe what you are saying. Then God will take your faith and reward you for your confession of faith. Note: You won’t believe it the first time you say it. You may believe it in your mind, but it is up to God to decide when you actually believe it with your spirit, or your true inner being. That is why God said to meditate (continually go over in your mind and in your mouth) what He says about you in His Word. Joshua 1:8 says to meditate day and night and observe to do all that is written… then you will have good success.

So here are the examples of things to say to God. Note: If you have already been saved but you have sin in your heart right now, you can start with the first example, and work your way right down the list without feeling guilty for anything you have ever done.

“God, according to 1 John 1:9 if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from everything we have done. So God I just ask right now for forgiveness for (you fill in your own personal sins here) and I thank you so much for forgiving me and putting me in right standing with you.”

“God, according to Romans 8:1 there is no condemnation (punishment, guilt, etc.) for those who are in Christ Jesus who don’t walk (live constantly) in the flesh but walk in the Spirit. So, I thank you right now for not condemning me. I will not walk in guilt of past sins that have been forgiven.”

“God, according to 1 Peter 2:24 You took my sins and put me in right standing with you. You were also wounded for me so that I could be healed. Thank you, I am totally healed in Jesus Name.”

“God, according to Psalms 1:1-3 I am blessed (empowered to prosper in every area of my life) because I delight in Your Word, and I do meditate on It day and night. I am like a tree planted by rivers of water, bringing forth fruit in my season. Whatever I do must prosper. Thank you God in Jesus name.”

“God, according to Proverbs 3:1-6 You are directing my paths. I have favor with You and with man. I am keeping your Word in my heart and I have long life (in abundance) and peace. I am keeping mercy and truth with me and I trust in you with all my heart. I am not leaning on my own understanding, Lord. I thank You for directing my paths.”

“God, since I am in right standing with you, I can claim Ecclesiastes 2:26. You continually give me wisdom, knowledge, and joy. Thank you so much for this.”

These are just a few examples of personalizing the Word. This is what God wants us to do. If you begin to live like this on a consistent basis, you will see God do things in your life that are unexplainable. You will have no recourse but to say, “This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in my eyes.” (Psalms 118:23)

Matthew 6:31-33 Take no thought saying; What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? ...your heavenly Father knows you have need of all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

I know it sounds simple, but examine yourself. If you find yourself getting frustrated over something, thinking “I must do this certain thing or else…” then you are, in fact, in the flesh. Ask for forgiveness and say something like, “God, I am sorry for acting like that. Please forgive me. From now on I am not leaning on my own understanding. I trust in You. My faith is in You, God, not my natural abilities. Thank you for guiding me and giving me peace and joy.” I’m telling you this really works.

Master Keys of Stewardship: 10 Keys About God and the Christian Life

Since everything is God’s creation, then we are at best stewards over what He has entrusted to us. Stewards accept and manage what God entrusts to them. So, as stewards, what do we need to know about God and the Christian life? We need to operate according to the following ten master keys of stewardship:

#1 — God is the Creator and Supreme Giver. Everything is His by right of creation. In every area of life, this truth has its impact. Just think about it: It’s all His!

#2 — God is the sustainer of all things. Since He created it, it is His job to sustain it all. Our job is to be obedient and to accomplish His will, not to worry about doing the sustaining ourselves.

#3 — God is the One who enables us to accomplish far more than we could ask or imagine. It’s all a result of Him. He gives us the power to get wealth. Work is still required of us, but He is the One who takes what we have and makes it what it can become.

#4 — God is a God of abundance. God has more than enough. There is no shortage of anything, at any time, in any area, with Him. We must simply desire His mindset and work according to His parameters.

#5 — God is a God of grace. The fact that God is a God of grace is very good news for every one of us. The very grace we have is a gift from Him. He gave us everything, including grace.

#6 — The Bible is a Christian’s chief compass. God’s written Word contains every truth that Christians hold dear. In the area of stewardship, much is said that directly guides us, benefits us, and blesses others.

#7 — Christians are called to live lives of stewardship. It is our calling to be stewards. The fact that we are stewards affects us in every area of life. It’s who we are.

#8 — Christians are called to manage all that God has entrusted to them. God is the owner, we are the managers, and the roles never change. When we operate according to this truth, the only question to answer is, “How can I best manage what has been entrusted to me?”

#9 — A Christian’s attitude toward possessions on earth is important to God. Any possession we have is a gift from God. So, possessions are not a right/wrong issue — they are an owner/manager issue. How we view possessions is of great importance to Him.

#10 — Earthly possessions and eternal rewards are linked. A vital link exists between how Christians use earthly possessions and the eternal rewards that Christians receive. The Bible often calls the result of good stewardship “fruit” that Christians will receive in heaven.

Allow these eternal principles to impact your life so that you can impact the lives around you even more!

Most church members do not like to think of their church as a business. But a church has bills to pay just like anybody else. Recently, our pastor announced our church was broke, completely broke. This recession or economic downturn has hit churches hard, too. Few churches will ever "go out of business" but activities taken for granted may become limited or defunct. There is a way to continue tithing (giving a tenth of your income) and increase giving by implementing successful internet marketing strategies. Since my employer decided he could no longer afford my services, I joined the ranks of those laid off and so, began again searching for a non-scam internet business.
First and foremost, Christians always turn to God, as CEO, for direction. Next a fantastic strategy available is to use successful marketing strategies as a church or as church members who desire to give more than their tithe. Even before being laid off, owning a successful home based internet business appealed to me because job security would no longer hinge on the whim of a boss, economic downturns, or other threats in a 'traditional' job.
After finding a niche in internet marketing, building an e-commerce business was easy. Internet business thrives while traditional businesses continue to feel the pinch and layoff more employees. E-commerce continues to grow in leaps and bounds though. The difficulty arises out of trying to find legitimate internet marketing businesses mingled in with the scams. Some even label themselves as "Christian" business opportunities. Why do scam artists think Christians are stupid and uneducated? It seems they believe Christians are an easy target.
Not only are Christians savvy and educated, but when God is on your side, it gives you a phenomenal edge. Non Christians cannot understand church growth during difficult times. Non Christians cannot understand much of anything about churches. If they target a church, truly founded on God and His principles, these scam artists will be completely shut out of any Christian internet marketing business arena.
Since being laid off, the successful internet marketing business I found continues to grow and prosper beyond anything a traditional job offers. It is my belief that God has allowed me the time and effort to focus on this online business rather than another "job" in the traditional market. It has been my dream to give gifts above and beyond my tithe; to write out a check to my church, if there was a need; to give large sums of money to the benevolence committee which is trying to help those in dire situations; to help pay off any building expenses. For example, our sound system is worn out and to replace it is going to cost a great deal of money. I would like to be able to write out a check to the church in order to replace not fix the sound system. In my traditional job, it is embarrassing that my giving was hindered by the pile of bills at home.
Furthermore, additional giving will not be a dream any longer but a necessary facet of my business and that of other church members successfully venturing into internet commerce. God pointed the way to this business and He expects me to follow His lead in order to impact my church, its activities and its members. He will take care of everything else along the way. The name of my business points to God who owns the cattle on 1000 hills (Psalm 50:10). He does not need our money. He wants our trust and obedience. Trusting Him is preferable to trusting what a brick and mortar HR promises. God promises to provide and His promises always ring true.

This is God's definition of prosperity. Enough money to pay for all of our bills and money left over to offer to every good work. People need to have plenty of money if they're going to give money for the church, give money to the poor and also to fund the evangelist who is out there reaching the lost.
Prosperity and financial increase are all through the Bible because this is absolutely, undeniably what God wants for His people. 3 John 2 States," beloved, above all things it is my wish that you simply prosper and be in health even while your soul prospers".
In line with this verse from the Bible we definitely will prosper at the same rate our soul prospers so it would behoove you to definitely you to take time to prosper your soul since your banking accounts follows.
The way you prosper your soul is by feeding your soul on God's Word concerning prosperity.
Another thing I tell people to do is pray God's Word over and over until faith comes. Just pray, Lord your Word says in Psalms 112:3 that wealth and riches shall be in my house. Now fill my house with wealth and riches according to your Word.
Do you have the audacity to pray that to God? If you do, that is exactly what He is going to give you, wealth and riches in your house.
Some people say as long as I have enough money to pay my bills I'm happy. Maybe they are, but if they just have enough money to pay for their bills they are not going to certainly be a financial blessing to anyone else.
I enjoy having extra money to give to other people and to help the poor.
The Bible definition of prosperity is for us to have enough money for everything we want with enough remaining to help many people.

Our Money - a Christian Perspective

Money

Money is perhaps the most controversial subject in the church. Depending on your denomination or flavor of non-denomination your belief about money could be anywhere along a vast spectrum. Some sects within the church equate holiness and spirituality with poverty and simplicity. Other sects within the church equate true faith with wealth and prosperity. Most, however, fall somewhere in between these two.
The bible actually has a lot to say concerning finances in both the Old and New Testament. God has a plan for our finances and has given us instructions on how to treat money. It should come as no surprise to us. The God who is concerned about the thoughts and intentions of our hearts is concerned about our finances and our attitudes towards money.
Before we get started into this message I want to acknowledge that there has been significant excess and error in the preaching, teaching and ministry of messages concerning money within the church. These errors and/or excesses do not negate the biblical teaching and instruction on finances. I ask you to lay aside any previous experiences you may have had with false teaching and look at the scriptures with me. God's word is not invalidated because a man or woman has twisted it or perverted it in the past for selfish reasons. Let God be true and every man a liar (Romans 3:4).
Let's state a few well established facts:

Houses and apartments are not free
Utilities are not free
Food is not free
Transportation is not free
Clothing is not free

These are some of the basic essentials in life; food, clothing, shelter and transportation. Each of these essentials must be purchased. As a believer or unbeliever our society requires you to pay for these items.
Let's state a few more well established facts:

There are poor Christians and those who are poor that are not Christians
There are middle-class Christians and those who are middles class that are not Christians
There are wealthy Christians and those who are wealthy that are not Christians

Faith in Christ does not have a monetary price tag attached. Salvation cannot be purchased, nor is it restricted to a class, race, geography or age group. The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." Let anyone who hears this say, "Come." Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life. (Revelation 22:17). Regardless of our economic status we are all sinners in need of Jesus and may freely accept His gift of salvation. This message is not about the qualifications for salvation. This message is to discuss what the Bible says the saved should be doing with their money.
Let's state a few more well established facts:

Churches require money to operate
It takes money to print Bibles
It takes money to send missionaries to the nations of the world
It takes money to feed the poor

In order to fulfill the Great Commission there are significant financial investments required. Believers must be willing to go and believers must also be willing to send.

For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, "How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!" (Romans 10:13-15).

God has filled us with His Holy Spirit and given us the privilege of speaking, praying and living in the name of Jesus. It is this power that allows us to minister His grace to those around us. As we share the love of God and gospel of Jesus Christ men and women have the opportunity to place faith in Jesus and be born again; receiving the same gift of the Holy Spirit that we have. This is the essence of New Testament Christianity; to win the lost and to make disciples of those that are won. This cycle of new birth and maturity is God's plan for the church. We as believers continue to mature in Christ – becoming more like Him while constantly bringing those who are lost into the Kingdom. The church was not designed to exist within the four-walls of our sanctuaries - the church was designed to exist everywhere there are people. In order to fulfill God's plan we are commanded to "preach the gospel to everyone" (Mark 16:15). The power to send is one of the most awesome things a church can have.
Sending power requires a few vital things:
1.       A group of mature believers who are raising up disciples of Jesus Christ
2.       Disciples of Jesus Christ who are willing to be sent
3.       The finances needed to send
There are three main reasons that money is vital in the life of a Christian:
1.       To provide for the needs of your family
2.       To finance the preaching of the gospel
3.       To care for the poor and those in need
As a result of the economic recession of the past several years there has been an increasing amount of debate in the media as well as in the church concerning money, wealth and excess. People have reexamined their priorities. Many have had decreased income. Many have just chosen to "tighten their belts" by eliminating any expense they find superfluous. There are new social justice campaigns to eliminate poverty. There has been a lot of focus on supplying peoples' needs instead of our traditional consumerism and materialism.
There seems to be an undercurrent of socialist thinking becoming more and more prevalent in the US – a belief that it is wrong for people to succeed and have significant amounts of money from the fruits of their labors. It is amazing how many stories are run about the compensation levels of CEO's and entrepreneurs. It seems the stories are designed to make us see their success and compensation as an evil. (If the money has been earned honestly – I cheer for their success. If not – then justice should meet out a penalty according to the laws that were broken). On the same note we seem to celebrate the salaries and compensation levels of entertainers and athletes. We tour their homes, their vacations, their cars, their clothing, their shopping tours, etc.
Travis McCoy (featuring Bruno Mars) sings, "I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad, buy all of the things I never had. Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine, smiling next to Oprah and the Queen."
John Lennon wrote a song entitled, "all you need is love"
In "I will buy you a new life" Everclear sings, "I hate those people who love to tell you money is the root of all that kills. They have never been poor, they have never had the joy of a welfare Christmas".
The world's view on money and wealth ranges from the communist to the capitalist. The bible speaks of neither. We are citizens of the kingdom of God and need to adopt God's worldview on money and wealth. God has a plan and a purpose for our lives and His plan and purpose involves our money.

But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. (Deuteronomy 8:18)

The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it. (Proverbs 10:22)

Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. (Matthew 6:19-21)

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. (Luke 6:38)

No, this is the kind of fasting I want: Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people. Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help. (Isaiah 58:6-7)

Our money, our influence, our status, etc. are all tools in the hand of Jesus Christ that He desires to use to reach a lost and dying world. We cannot care for the poor and need when we are the poor and needy. We cannot send missionaries around the world if we are unable to provide for the needs of our own families. Our attitudes must change in respect to finances and the kingdom of God. We have one cause to support – the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everything that we are and everything that we have has been given to God at salvation when we accepted Jesus Christ's blood as payment for our sins. We have entered into a blood covenant where He has become ours and we have become His. His resources and supplies are ours and our resources and supplies are now His.

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it (Psalm 24:1)

For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. (1 Peter 1:18-19)

Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

The answer to each of these questions is NO.
Does any one of these people groups have things in their lives that give them advantage or disadvantage in the things of this world (depending on where they live)? Sure. Do any of these things matter at the foot of the cross? No.
Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." (Luke 12:15)
I am not writing this message to judge your net worth. I am not writing this message to collect an offering from you. I am not writing this message so that you will support a ministry that I believe in. I am writing this message so that your view of money and wealth will be scriptural.
Here are the points that I want you to take away from reading this:

Your income level, possessions and bank balance have nothing to do with God's love for you or salvation through Jesus Christ.
Money is neither good nor evil; money is a tool in the hand of the one who possesses it.
As a Christian everything we are belongs to God; including our money.
As a Christian we are called to fulfill the Great Commission and it takes money to spread the gospel through the world.
As a Christian we are called to meet the needs of the poor, the widow and the orphan and it takes money to do so.
As a Christian we are called to tithe and give offerings above our tithe.

Greed and pride are found among the wealthy and the poor. Change your heart and your mind concerning wealth and money. We should be working to bring the Kingdom of heaven to the earth through the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We should be laboring in love, deeds, actions, prayer and giving towards this goal.
I challenge you to see your finances as a tool in the hand of the Holy Spirit for the spreading of the gospel. I challenge you to trust the God you have given your heart and soul to with your check book. I challenge you to believe that He is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). I challenge you to believe that He is able to supply all of your need according His riches and glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
If you will obey God in your finances (as well as other areas of your life) you will find that you will have more than enough to meet your needs and to fulfill the calling of God upon your life.
The love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10) and all we need do is turn on the news to see the devastation greed has wrought throughout the earth. The love of God and a love for the people of this world will change your view of money from a possession to desire into a sanctified tool in the hand of your Heavenly Father.

Sow and Reap Prosperity

6Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

7Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

9As it is written:

"He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor;

his righteousness endures forever."[a]

10Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

11You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

2 Corinthians 9:6-11(NIV)

One of the favourite propaganda by the anti-faith groups against believing christians is to ridicule the principle of sowing and reaping. They tried to make us look silly for believing that we can reap what we sow. Yet, the above passage is clear on God’s principle of sowing and reaping. Therefore, the principle sowing and reaping is not an invention of the Word Of Faith preachers but a law given by God.

In fact this is a natural law (independent from Moses’s Law) and it works in every situation.

“What does that mean?”

Think of the law of gravity. It works every time as long as you are on earth regardless of your religious affiliation, level of faith or even the condition of your heart. Gravity works on you regardless on whether you believe in Jesus or not. This is why even non christians can get rich if they know how to take advantage of this principle of sowing and reaping.

“Is this law good or bad?”

The answer is entirely up to the user. Use it correctly it will be good. Use it wrongly, it will be bad. God will not kill you if you jump from the roof of a 50-storey building. Gravity will. In this case the law of gravity will kill you not because it has a mind of its own but it is because you use it wrongly.

Likewise, before you decide what to sow, you should make up your mind what type of harvest you want to reap. If you want to reap evil, sow evil. If you want to reap goodness, sow goodness.

Here is an example:

If you want to have a lot of money, sow money. Give your money to the poor or ministries that do the works of God. The more effective the ministry in proclaiming the Gospel and changing lives, the more fertile the field is and consequently the greater the harvest.

As for me, I sow in Jerry Savelle Ministries International (JSMI) in which I am also its partner. I trust in it because I have benefited from it. I would not have been the person I am today if not for the messages from Jerry Savelle. I have his messages in my MP3 in which I am listening every day. I find my faith increasing, gaining greater confidence and developing a no-quit faith. No matter how many times I have been knocked down by the devil, I now have the strength stand back up and fight again. I have the courage to keep fighting until I win.

So, if JSMI can change me, I am sure it can change million others. This gives me the confidence that this ministry is a very fertile ground. Sowing to this ministry will surely yield me a great harvest.

Please note that I am not saying JSMI is only fertile ground. There are many others that preach the faith of God that results in prosperity to many people. The rule of the thumb is: If a ministry can help you, it can help others. Then it is a candidate for sowing.

This principle is not limited to money alone. It can work on anything you want.

If you are sick and want good health, start sowing health.

How?

Pray for the health of other people. If you see anyone sick and need to buy medicines, go and buy the medicines for him/her. In other words, do what you can to help other sick people to get well. You will receive a harvest of good health.

If you want a new car and don’t have the money for it, find others who are saving money for their new car. Contribute some of your money to their “car fund”. In this way you are sowing cars. Your harvest will be cars.

“How much should I sow?”

6Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

2 Corinthians 9:6(NIV)

There are 2 laws to remember:

1. The harvest is proportional to the seeds sown.

2. The harvest is always more than the seeds sown.

For example, 100 times of $1 is $100. 100 times of $100 is $10,000. 100 times of $10,000 is $1,000,000.

Ask yourself this question, how much do I want to reap? This also explains why generous people are rich. Knowing the above laws makes us cheerful givers. We don’t give reluctantly as though we are robbed. We can give cheerfully and generously because we are convinced that God is faithful. He will return all our seeds in a harvest that are many times more than what we have sown.

“What if I don’t have seeds to sow?”

10Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

11You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

2 Corinthians 9:10-11(NIV)

According to the above verses, God has provided the seed. It can be in any form or any amount. After a farmer reaps his harvest, he will not eat and sell all of it. He will select the best seeds to sow for the next harvest. In this way, his crops will improve in quality and quantity every harvest.

Likewise, when you receive your salary, don’t spend all of it. Leave some, no matter how little for sowing if you are really serious on prosperity. If you don’t have income, sow whatever you have. You can offer to help your neighbours to carry their bags, throw their trash or walk their dogs. These are your seeds.

Verse 11 above tells us that God wants us to be rich so that we can be generous in every occasion. Doing so will result in thanksgiving for God. God is glorified through us being rich and generous. Do you want to glorify God today? As for me, YES!

Jesus told the people to leave her alone and because she gave with excellence for His glory it would be remembered and told as a memorial of her (Matt 26:12-13).
A wholehearted approach to everything you do in life will produce prosperity because of your spirit of excellence. We all desire to see prosperity growing in our lives. Living a life of excellence produces prosperity and also honors God. So we should all have a goal of working to maintain the highest quality of reputation of excellence. So many people are tormented by fear and don't realize how negative thinking affects them. They build a prison for themselves with suggestions of limitation, incapacity, and unworthiness. They don't think of succeeding, but of how they will fail.

It's been said that a person does not get want they want, but what they picture. It's those dominate thoughts that are being attracted to you, not your greatest dreams. So, the way to attract the things you desire is to hold a mental picture of what you want as long as possible, and as often as possible. Feel that you already have what you desire with certainty and you will see it become manifested in your life.

It's a simple concept, and it's true. It's just not easy. It's not easy because we are bombarded daily with all kinds of negative thoughts, and then we are forced to decide what to do with them after they've entered our minds.

There is just no way a person can enjoy life to it's full with a head full of negative thoughts. The will of God is abundance, prosperity, blessings, peace, joy, and righteousness. Thoughts of fear, worry, dread, and poverty are in direct opposite to God's plan. In fact, they are the devil's plan.

2 Corinthians 4:4 says, Satan has become the god of this world, and it's his will to completely destroy us. But, God has put limits on the devil. He cannot cross the blood line. Therefore, the main way he disrupts people's lives is by planting suggestive thoughts in their heads, causing them all kinds of grief.

He is not just going to sit by and watch as you become outrageously blessed. The reason is because he hates God. And, since he can not hinder God in any way, the best he can do is hinder God's most beloved possession - you!

As Christians, we are just passing through and we must be like Jesus, completely focused on our mission. And, that mission is pursuing the purpose God put in each of us. Too many Christians are confused because they do not have a clue as to why they are here.

You must absolutely know where you are headed in life and have a fixed goal in view before you'll ever attain what you're after.

You must be definite on what it is that you desire and not consistently changing your mind according to your moods on any given day. James 1:6-8 says, "Let him ask in faith with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord, for he is a double-minded man, and unstable in all his ways."

Many people go through the lip-service act of saying their prayers without the slightest belief that those prayers will be answered. Consequently, they are not answered, and the same people will scratch their head and wonder why God is not answering their prayers.

Jesus said, "According to your faith, let it be done unto you" (Matt 9:29). How can anything positive "be done unto you" if you are not exercising your faith in what you desire?

If you're frustrated and tired of going around the same mountain of problems day after day, then ask yourself some serious questions:

1) "Do I know God's will for my life, or do I not have a clue what He's created me for?"

2) "Do I have direction, or am I just wandering around

aimlessly?"

3) "Do I know exactly what I want and how I'm going to get there, or do I just wait and see what's going to happen?"

4) "Do I have goals, and if so, are they written down?"

5) "Am I confessing what God's Word says about me daily, or do I even know any of God's Word?"

You are created with a purpose! You may say, "I know, but I don't know what my purpose is." If that's what you are saying, the devil has successfully faked you out.

God has a purpose for each person and I believe your purpose is in your interests! You will never be ultimately successful doing something you do not enjoy.

Is your work "just a job," or do you truly enjoy it? Ecclesiastes 2:24 says, "Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor."

So, ask yourself what it is that you like to do? Once you discover it, then do it. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might."

It is vital that you know God's will for your life. Things that are not God's will for you get frustrating. They don't manifest positive results because they are not part of God's plan. In those cases you must be honest with yourself and stop pursuing those things.

But, if you know with all your heart that God has spoken something to you, then you must pursue it with everything you've got. But again, you will only be able to pursue it with everything you've got by first controlling and directing your thoughts.

It's a decision you make concerning what you think about. So whether you think success, or failure, that's what you will eventually reap. Without directed thought aimed at your purpose, and goals in writing, you are like the proverbial "ship without a rudder," wandering everywhere while going nowhere (remember James 1:6-8).

Because our thoughts are vibrating energy, we create what we want by focusing our thoughts on those things. So, a big mistake is trying to figure out how you are going to do something before you do it. Start by believing you can do it and the "how-to" will follow, for strong belief triggers the mind to figuring the ways and the means.

Remember, faith without works is dead (James 2:20). You're simply not committed until you take action. Think positive thoughts, come up with ideas, seek advice from Godly people who are on the same page, spend time with God and seek His council.

Within you right now is the power to do things you never dreamed possible. This power becomes available to you just as soon as you change your beliefs by eliminating thoughts of limitation, incapacity, and unworthiness. Remember, you do not get want you want, but what you picture.

Arch Bonnema - Christian Entrepreneur and Philanthropist

Arch Bonnema's mission couldn't be plainer. It encircles the towering ceiling of his McKinney home, inscribed in gold letters: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…"
Though Bonnema, 56, has launched several successful businesses and played an important role in the early success of the film The Passion of the Christ—he purchased all of the seats in Plano's Cinemark Tinseltown 20 for opening day, and gave away the 6,000 tickets—orphan homes are the focus of his time and money today. Since 1991, he and his wife, Sherry, have tithed a minimum of 50 percent of their finances and work hours to missions, including their own ministry, My House.

They've partnered with longstanding local ministries in Uganda, Kenya, India, and Ethiopia to build orphan homes centered around churches and to staff them with widows, explicitly following the words of James 1:27 etched inside his home.
The decision to give on such a scale came 17 years ago after he and his wife attended a missions conference. They were driving home from Georgia on Bonnema's motorcycle, communicating by helmet-mounted radios. "We'd been silent for quite a while," Arch says, "and I said, ‘You know, honey, I have to admit I've been kinda feeling lately that we ought to increase our commitment from 35 to 50 percent.'
"I hardly got done saying that, and she says, ‘God's been telling me that for months. I was just waiting for you to confirm it with me.'"
Bonnema's response echoes what many Christians have believed in recent years—only to find their fortunes shrink drastically during the recession. "The whole time you're thinking, ‘Wow—God is gonna really bless us now.' But it doesn't always work that way. If you give, God doesn't always give back right away. That's what the prosperity message got wrong.
"There were times when my wife and I gave significantly and went through the biggest hardships, but we kept on giving. We still survived. It might have been a year or two later, but God gave us a tremendous blessing."
In Arch's and Sherry's case, their decision to tithe lavishly was followed by the loss of their savings and other assets—just about everything but their home. They even sold their last car, a two-year-old Cadillac, so they could keep the pledges they'd made to ministries. "We gave everything we had, including cashing in our retirement, to make sure that our promises to missions were fulfilled," Arch says. "It's not that my business dropped off, but I spent less time doing it, and my income dropped—while my giving increased, percentage-wise. No problem, we thought. We'll just sell this. We don't need that anyway. It's more important we fulfill our commitment to God.
"It wasn't until we had given away pretty much everything we had over a span of six years when, all of a sudden, everything just reversed faster. God started building my businesses faster than I ever could have imagined. Within two years I had more money than I ever had in my whole life."
Today, Arch has set aside Joshua Financial, the trust company from which he prospered for many years—changing tax laws eliminated much of the business--to invest in enterprises such as the buying and re-selling of electricity and hydrogen technology. Bonnema has also launched expeditions to search for Noah's Ark and the Ark of the Covenant. Arch joins in business with "kindred spirits," Christian entrepreneurs with a passion for missions and ministry.
"You want to have people surrounding you who are like-minded," he says. "There's an old saying, ‘It's not what you know; it's who you know.' But I think there is a more correct saying: It's who knows you. What is your reputation? If you develop a good track record, they come find you."
Bonnema applies the same principle to building orphan homes. He works only with ministries that have worked with orphans for years on their own, "doing a really good job." My House builds new and better facilities so the ministries can expand their work. The goal, he says, is that the orphan home is independent of outside aid within three or four years. "Once we build it," he says, "we give it to them."
Right now, My House sponsors four orphan homes in India, two in Ethiopia, one in Kenya, and one in Uganda, all in rural areas. Four other orphan homes are under construction; the Bonnemas hope to build 10 in 2010. Over the years, My House has encountered its share of scammers—"just people who want money," Bonnema says. "It's just as bad in the U.S. as it is over there." Bonnema has developed a motto—"We inspect what we expect." My House personnel are on the ground talking to people before the organization builds, checking out the credentials of local ministries and talking to pastors, mayors, and community leaders. "We make sure they have a good reputation for taking care of kids," he says.
Bonnema's passion for orphans has unlikely roots in the Minnesota farming community of Prinsburg, population 450, where he grew up. His grandfather, a farmer for many years and later "a very successful businessman," entertained a constant stream of visitors from overseas—missionaries and pastors, to whom he gave much of his money. "He felt the best gift he had was he knew how to do good business. He knew about the world, because everybody came to visit him. He was very generous. They were expecting to see some big tycoon, but he had a very modest house. He lived in a very small town. He just gave away an enormous amount."
Faith pervaded the Bonnema family, which prayed and read Scripture at every meal, three times a day, and attended the Christian Reformed church together. "I grew up in a family where all my relatives were strong, committed Christians," says Bonnema, now a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. "When I reached an age of understanding, at 7 or 8, I committed my life to Christ."
At 19, Bonnema walked around the world with a backpack and sleeping bag, traversing remote and war-torn countries, including Vietnam. He visited Israel in 1973, right after it went to war with Egypt. In Bombay, India, he got so sick he prayed to die. In Hong Kong he started a Youth for Christ chapter that still exists today. Throughout his journey, he learned to "rely on God" in everything.
"James chapter 1 says if your life is full of difficulties and temptations, be happy," Bonnema says. "I remember reading that when I was 16, thinking, boy, did they ever mistranslate this. How can you be happy when life is full of difficulties and temptations? Because you learn to trust God. That's when you really build your faith."
Crossing the world with little money or status allowed him to see reality in the countries he visited, where no one was trying to impress him. He avoided the big cities and wandered through rural areas, "where you really see the people." He witnessed poverty and oppression, degradation and violence. As well as people with few possessions who took inexplicable joy in their love for God.
"That's where my heart was first touched by the orphans and widows," he says. "I saw a different world than the one I lived in. It did two things: It tremendously increased my passion for ministry. I saw how easy it is to change lives, compared to the U.S. When you see how easy it is to make a difference, it makes you want to do more.
"And it really opened my eyes so that I'm a good steward. It's not about just writing a check. It's like the parable of the good seeds. It's giving to the right place at the right time."
Over the years, Bonnema has visited 93 countries, all but one with his wife. That one country was Iran, where he believes his team found the petrified remains of Noah's Ark in 2006. He's also witnessed first-hand the world's problem with orphans; according to the World Health Organization, the number of orphans has doubled in the last five years, and only one-tenth of one percent are ever adopted. Yet more than 90 percent of the money spent on orphans is directed to the adoption process.
A Kenyan bishop who visited him recently represented the alternative that My House seeks: He described how he could build an orphan home housing a dozen children as well as a widow to take care of them for as little as $20,000. The facility would include separate rooms for boys and girls as well as a kitchen and bathroom.
"What's interesting is for centuries, that's what the church did. We took care of orphans and widows," Bonnema says. "Now, we let the government do it."

How are homeless shelters funded?
Whether you like it or not, the answer is money.
Yes it is true, God owns all the silver and the gold, and it is not ours. We are to act as good stewards of His money.
However, I am unaware of any passage in the Bible that states we must be poor to enter the Kingdom.
Please do not refer to this verse-
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom.
Once again, that verse applies to the rich person who hoards all their money, never giving any of it back.
Do you think God is proud of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet? These two individuals are using billions of dollars they made in their businesses to cure many of the ills prevalent in third world countries.
I challenge anyone to emulate these two titans of the business world. You do not have to be a billionaire to make a difference.
However, there are many great business avenues to travel as a Christian if you want to lead a life of prosperity.
One that has made me very wealthy is a Christian network marketing business.
It has allowed me to spend time with my family, earn a substantial income and tithe incredible amounts of money to my church and community.
What better group of people to be financially free than Christians?
It is the epitome of money transferring to the hands of the righteous.
Step out in faith and allow yourself to think in terms of financial abundance.
God loves a cheerful giver.
The question is: If you become a millionaire, will you become a cheerful giver?
Having money is not bad.
When money has you, you are in trouble.

The Vow of Prosperity

3 They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever.

Psalm 112:3(NLT)

Psalm 112 is a portrait of a godly man. According to the Bible, being godly and wealthy comes together. There is no place in the Bible where God promises poverty to those who trust and obey him. In other words, a poor christian is a contradiction in terms.

Some may ask, “How about Jesus? Wasn’t he poor when he walked on earth?”

Answer: The Bible records Jesus’s poverty only once and we need to read that in context.

9 You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.

2 Corinthians 8:9 (NLT)

The above verse tells us 2 things:

1. Jesus was poor at the Cross in order to make us rich.

2. Jesus was only poor at the Cross.

Let me provide further proof that Jesus was never poor when he walked on earth.

23 When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided his clothes among the four of them. They also took his robe, but it was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

24 So they said, “Rather than tearing it apart, let’s throw dice for it.” This fulfilled the Scripture that says, “They divided my garments among themselves and threw dice for my clothing.” So that is what they did.

John 19:23-24 (NLT)

The Roman soldiers threw dice to get his robes. Why? They wanted to use it as rags? It couldn’t be for spiritual reasons. It could not be for sentimental reasons either. It must be very expensive. There can only be one reason Jesus wore expensive clothes. He wasn’t poor as the anti-faith groups claimed. As I mentioned earlier, the only place and time the Bible described Jesus as poor is at the Cross and the purpose of him being poor is to make us rich.

Not only that, Jesus has a treasurer, Judas. Judas had often helped himself with Jesus’s money. There must be quite a lot of it for Judas to find it worthwhile to serve Jesus.

Let us have another proof.

11 They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 2:11(NLT)

The above verse refers to the wise men from the East. They visited Jesus when he was about 2 years old. They gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Do you think these folks traveled all the way just to give Jesus a few pieces of gold? Of course not.

Based on the respect they had for Jesus, the amount of gold they brought must be proportional to their wealth.

The above verses should remove any suspicion that Jesus lived in poverty when he was not at the Cross.

“Does this mean every christian should be rich?”

Yes. The Bible is very clear on this. (You can refer to my book in this topic, available at http://www.lulu.com/content/1539251 )

There is no way to get around this. The idea of a poor christian is simply not Biblical.

“Then why are so many christians not rich?”

If God has guaranteed prosperity to us and we are not enjoying it, then it is clear that we have been robbed.

(I am referring to myself as well. At the time I am writing this, I do not have billions of dollars in net-worth.)

“How much should I ask God for?”

20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

God is challenging us here. He is saying, whatever we ask for, he will do more. Sounds like he wants us to think big and ask for as much as we can think of.

Here is a practical guide:

Assuming that you want to have $10,000 per month to live the lifestyle you want. How much monthly income should you ask God for?

If you ask for less than $10,000 per month, you are insulting God. You think Ephesians 3:20 is a lie. You are calling God a liar.

If you ask for exactly $10,000 per month, you are being selfish. You only think for yourself. How about helping others? One of the characteristic of godly men and women is generosity.

9 They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.

They will have influence and honor.

Psalm 112:9(NLT)

You should also include the amount you want to give away. Assuming that you have decided to give away 90% of your income to help the poor, then you should ask God for $100,000 per month. Every month, out of the $100,000, you keep $10,000 for yourself and give the remaining $90,000 away.

“What if I want $1,000,000 instead?”

Then ask God for $10,000,000. Our God is generous. We don’t have to be selfish. Whatever we ask him for, he promised to give us more. Doesn’t this make you generous?

People are dying every day, from starvation and lack of basic medical care. They need help and we are in the best position to do so. Good intentions are not enough. Religious and faithless prayers are not enough. They need money. Cool, hard cash to deliver food, medicines, set up hospitals, schools, farms, water treatment plants and other aids to stop people from dying like flies everyday.

The poor cannot help the poor. Only the rich can.

God doesn’t want us just to sit here condemning the rich people for not doing enough. He wants us to be rich so that we can do what he has put in our hearts for us to do.

This is not the time to be selfish and religious. This is the time to be rich as God wants us to be. We are blessed to be a blessing. Are you ready to obey God today? Are you willing to be rich as God wants you to be? Are you ready to take up the Vow Of Prosperity?

Everything God has created is made of energy. The only difference between an atom of a tree and an atom of a mushroom is that the atom of a tree has energy that is vibrating at different frequencies than the atom of a mushroom. It is evidently clear that the same particles growing together in a tree, or in a mushroom, are because they are vibrating at the same frequency.
Everything is made up of energy, including thought. Thought is energy vibrating at a particular frequency. This has been proven in scientific laboratories. With proper instruments, scientists can measure the frequency of thoughts, or brain waves.
Thoughts are powerful forces of energy and can only come from our own minds, and we should understand things do not just happen accidentally. Everything that happens in our lives happens for a reason. Since we are the only ones in charge of our individual minds,we create the thoughts that create the circumstances in our lives.
Most of what we are experiencing has been attracted by our own thoughts, for the bible says, "As a man thinks, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). Since our thoughts create reality, we create our reality. So making excuses and casting blame only make us out to be the victim. There is absolutely no power in playing the part of a victim.
I know it can be very difficult to change the pattern of thinking we have engaged in for so long. But, It's only a habit, and habits can be changed.
Instead of thinking thoughts of fear, dread, and worry, think thoughts of peace, happiness, and positive expectation. Easier said than done, I know. But, like I said, negative thinking is only a habit - a bad one.
Job had engaged in negative thinking and attracted all kinds of garbage into his life. He said, "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me" (Job 3:25). You obviously don't want the things you fear to come upon you. So, quit sending out vibrations of fear! Make a decision that you will only use your imagination for positive thoughts. Fear and worry are only the mis-use of the imagination.
God has given us an awesome resource - our mind. Also, He has given us free will to choose what we will do with our minds. Use it responsibly! He said, "I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore, choose life" (Deut 30:19).
It really takes no more effort to think positive than it does to think negative. Like I said, thinking negative is just a habit. A habit you must break if you want to live an abundant and prosperous Christian life.
Whatever it takes to break the bad habit of negative thinking we must do it. Maybe it will mean us having to break off some negative relationships. Maybe it will mean us having to turn off the television, or the radio. Understand that our association is vital to our well-being. "Like attracts like" and we must send out vibrations of thought at the same frequency as the things we want.
Prosperity is simple. All we must do to attract the things we desire is hold a mental picture of what we want as long as possible and as often as possible. Feel that we already have what we desire with certainty and we will see it become manifested
in our lives.
It sounds simple enough, and it really is simple. It's just not all that easy! It's not easy because our old thinking patterns are habits, and habits are not always easy to change. It can be done though with practice and determination.
In summary, our thoughts are vibrating energy and we create what we want by focusing our thoughts on those things. Jesus said in Mark 9:23, "According to your faith, be it done unto you."

Shepherd of Prosperity

This is a study on Psalm 23 to discover the goodness of God and the prosperity promises he made for his people. At the end of this article I hope you will enjoy a higher level of confidence and faith that God is determined to prosper and protect you.

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

2 He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams

Psalm 23:1-2 (NLT)

Verse 1 itself links the Lord with provision. As long as he is my shepherd, I have all that I need. I will have all the health, wealth, protection, comfort, encouragement and anything else I need. In short, the leadership of the Lord in my life guarantees total and complete prosperity.

Verse 2 was spoken within the perspective of a sheep. Green meadows and peaceful streams provide unlimited food and water to the sheep. The sheep cared by this shepherd will never suffer from hunger nor any other lack. This reinforces Verse 1 on the assurance of prosperity of God in our lives.

3 He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.

Psalm 23:3 (NLT)

Why does he need to renew my strength? Obviously when I am tired or discouraged.

You may be facing a tough battle now. You may feel like giving up because the enemies are too strong. Your strength is weakening. I have the word of The Lord for you. The Lord is telling you not to give up. Trust in him. He will renew your strength. He will make you stronger than all your enemies. You will beat them. Once you manage to beat them off, the reward is great.

He also guides me along right paths? What is that? Based on the context set by Verse 1 and 2, the right paths must be the paths to prosperity. He wants to lead us toward greater prosperity. The subsequent sentence tells us that our prosperity brings honor to his name.

Do you want to bring honor to his name and glorify him? If your answer is yes, then start believing him for your prosperity.

4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.

Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

Psalm 23:4 (NLT)

Please note that Verse 4 begins with “Even when I”. The Lord did not lead me to the darkest valley. I did that myself. Why? Through moments of weakness, anger, greed and carelessness. After all, we make mistakes. (The term, “Even when” does not mean I must walk through the darkest valley. This line is only an insurance policy against momentary mistakes.)

So, even if I got myself into deep trouble from my mistake, I shall not be afraid because the Lord is still with me. I shall believe that he can and he will rescue me.

A shepherd’s rod and staff are used to protect himself and his flocks against predators. They are symbols of protection. So, whenever you are under attack, focus on the Lord’s promise of protection and deliverance for you. Only then will you experience peace and consequently able to activate your faith to fight back.

5 You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil.

My cup overflows with blessings.

Psalm 23:5 (NLT)

Feasts are for celebration. The Lord wants us to celebrate for our victory even before our enemies are completely defeated. Why? He wants us to live by faith. He wants us to believe in his deliverance even before we see it. After all, what is faith?

1 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)

The Lord honors me with overflowing blessings. Overflow refers to more than enough. More than I can contain. Does blessing always refer to prosperity?

22The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23:6 (NLT)

This is the last verse in Psalm 23. It starts with “surely” and ends with a good news. What is “surely” anyway? It means there is no exception, no “maybe”. When I was in my religious church, I was informed of many “maybes”.

Maybe God wants you to be sick.

Maybe God wants you to be poor.

Maybe God wants you to suffer.

Yet Psalm 23 says otherwise.

Verse 6 gives me the certainty that the Lord’s goodness and unfailing love will pursue me for life. Pursue means I don’t have to look for them. They will come after me. All I need to do is to trust and believe in the Lord. Then his love and goodness will pursue me for life.

“, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”

This is a great ending for believers. Live in the house of the Lord forever.
