Dear readers,

Im currently creating a community portal specialized for gen2 owners only.. in that portal, you can upload your own gen2 picture albums and share them with the other members about your modification or your car specs.

you guys can also chat with the online members to share your great and interesting story about your mods. there'll also be a section where u guys can update the other members about the latest motoring events at your place.. im trying to create a new community for proton gen2 owners around the world..

frankly speaking, it is like a facebook + friendster but dedicated to gen2 owners only.. all the functions will be specialized for Proton Gen2.

so.. what do you guys think..? how many of you agree on this?
please let me know by leaving your comments and also vote at the poll i've created so that i know i hav good response for developing this portal.

Ok here goes... exactly 2 weeks ago my car broke down near the Muzium. Its all just happen in a flash. The car was simply fantastic for the pass 3 days before this thing happen..fantastic meaning very good power and good response all round.

I was just about to downshift from 4th to 3rd and then just about to power on the i felt a real quick strange feeling on my gear knob.. like the whole gear level was wobbling.. then shut down immediately.. no nothing.. no pulse on the car.
Tried to restart but couldn't so i free gear and roll to a stop nearby the muzium road.

Tried restarting several times and check everything that i could have possibly think off.. as in fuel pump, fuel line tried resetting the car and still nothing.. so eventually took the plug leads out to check and there was no spark... so i figured the coil could be the culprit, then i called my friend to come over to attend to me and he brought a spare ori coil.. plugged in and still no spark.. then we immediately figured, must be the crank angle sensor..

so no choice but to tow the car back to serdang. Once the car was in the workshop we immediately tried replacing the crank angle sensor.. oh actually we PDTed the car first to trouble shoot.. then it was confirm no signal from crank angle sensor. Upon unplugging my Crank Angle Sensor out.. we discovered that my sensor was smashed already.. and immediately my worst fears came... the whole crank sensor was gone..

and we decided to remove the oil pan to inspect further because we were very sure that the metal bits would have already make its way into the engine.. as in cylinder wall and blocks.. upon removal of the oil pan this was what we saw.

Intoduction
Gasoline engines obtain power by compressing a fuel-air mixture of air and gasoline, t exploding this mixture by ignition. Spark plugs serve to ignite this fuel-air mixture. With thhene battery as the power source, the spark plug converts the electrical energy that comes through the ignition coil and distributor into a spark which ignites the fuel air mixture. In other words, without the spark plug, the engine doesn't run; the spark plug is a important part because its performance influences the overall performance of the engine.

Choosing the right one..
Various circumstances such as engine conditions and driving conditions are rough measures for choosing a plug. For example, if strenuous driving is continued for a long time using normal plugs, the plug will overheat.
This is why the idea of a regular plug for a regular car doesn't work.
What's important is to inspect the condition of your current plugs, and then choose a plug accordingly.

The heat range will change with the seasons.

When the air temperature is high, as in the summer, the inlet air temperature becomes higher, increasing the load on the engine. In times like this, it's better to choose a plug with a higher heat range.

The more horsepower is increased, the higher the required heat range.

If the horsepower has been increased through tuning, the increase in explosive power leads to an increase in combustion chamber temperature, making pre-ignition more likely; in such cases it is necessary to choose a plug with a higher heat range and a higher level of heat resistance.

At the engine bay.. the owner do some modification to the intake system, where an open pod air filter (mushroom type) fitted to the throttle body..

This 2006 GEN 2 finally comes into life after the owner decided to trash the stock suspension and opt for Proton R3 version. The ride height have been lowered and the driving experience has been improved a lot.

When people think of automobile performance, they normally think of horsepower, torque and zero-to-60 acceleration. But all of the power generated by a piston engine is useless if the driver can't control the car. That's why automobile engineers turned their attention to the suspension system almost as soon as they had mastered the four-stroke internal combustion engine.

The job of a car suspension is to maximize the friction between the tires and the road surface, to provide steering stability with good handling and to ensure the comfort of the passengers.

If a road were perfectly flat, with no irregularities, suspensions wouldn't be necessary. But roads are far from flat. Even freshly paved highways have subtle imperfections that can interact with the wheels of a car. It's these imperfections that apply forces to the wheels. According to Newton's laws of motion, all forces have both magnitude and direction. A bump in the road causes the wheel to move up and down perpendicular to the road surface. The magnitude, of course, depends on whether the wheel is striking a giant bump or a tiny speck. Either way, the car wheel experiences a vertical acceleration as it passes over an imperfection.

Without an intervening structure, all of wheel's vertical energy is transferred to the frame, which moves in the same direction. In such a situation, the wheels can lose contact with the road completely. Then, under the downward force of gravity, the wheels can slam back into the road surface. What you need is a system that will absorb the energy of the vertically accelerated wheel, allowing the frame and body to ride undisturbed while the wheels follow bumps in the road.
