What gives us the power to push hard for whatever we do is this possitive thought that there are people who still BELIEVES in us.

In blogs world people indulge to interaction. Here we can find people who would really listen to us and might be as well our avid readers.

I'm really greatfull that on my early time in blogging, I've come to meet my fellow writers who believe in me and even shared this wonderfull opportunity of being given an award.

I wholeheartedly took the award for it is so sweet and flattering being considerably nominated by two of my co-Bloggers friends, Brenda Porter of My Tribute to the Beatles! and Cecille Tuazon of FliPinay Wee Blether.

1. What is the most coolest thing to ever happen to you as a blogger
-coolest thing ever happened to me as a blogger is getting an award like this, having friends with same passion and being able to write posts I can't believe I was able to deliver well.

2. Are you a Beatles fan? If so, what is your favorite song that you like by them?
-I'm not a total fanatic but I know and appreciates their songs such as "Let it be" and "Till There was you". Nice songs!

3. What is the most coolest place that you have ever traveled to?
-I don't travel a lot. I can't go to far places because its making me sick but given a chance I would like to go to different places in the world.

4. If you could do one act or accomplishment that could directly impact the lives of those directly around you, what would that one act be and why?
-I think it could be through writing. Being vocal about thoughts can make good impacts to everyone around you mostly if you see to them that you are really sincere of your words, whether your explaining matters or facts or ideas, reasoning or giving comments, but as much as people know me, Im deeper with my words Im writing. i don't know why but I want it through WRITING.

5. What role does faith/religious beliefs/God play in your life? On a scale of 1-10 how important is faith to you?
-I believe in GOD, faith and power of prayers. I rate it 10.

6. You are on a beach in the Bahamas...who is sitting on the blanket/chair next to you?
-husband and son.

7. If you won the lottery and won mega millions what would be the first thing you would do with the money after taxes?
-Ill say a little prayer to thanks God. Definitely save some for my son's education, build a house of our own then put up a small business.

8. My favorite phrase is "never lose faith! For when it seems the darkest is when the light is shining the brightest, you just don't realize it!" what is your favorite phrase or "ism"?
-"Don't let your past define your future!"

9. If you could meet ONE person, past or present; who would that one person be and why them?
-my grandfather who passed away 5 years ago. I want to tell him that I miss him so much.

10. If you could offer any advice to your fellow bloggers what would that kernel of wisdom be?
-Oh Im a newbie blogger here but really if I have to say an advice, it would be.. Just always be approacheable and honest, step on others shoes and know with yourself how it is to be your reader. Write with passion and feel the warmth of appreciations from the readers.

11. Dog or cat lover?
-Dog :)

1. What was your childhood dream?
-to be successful in whatever that comes my way that I'm gonna be interested to like now in blogging! Anyway, its always been my frustrations to be a good writer.

2. What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever given/received?
-well for me, every gift is precious whatever its worth, size and meaning most specially those thats given
to me. No best/worst. I appreciate every gift I recieved and I just hope same thing was thought for the ones that I had given and will be giving of.

3. If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
-I'd love to be a 'witch' but not like what it always look like in most stories where they appeared to be old and ugly. A cute not so wicked type of witch! Hmm is there anything like that? Lol.

4. What was the last film that made you cry?
-Oh my God, I can't recall! The last I have watched is a comedy film. I'm not much on watching films but when I got to and found it interesting, I can't even have a break.

5. What is one of your favorite quotes?
-Don't let your past define your future.

6. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be? and Why?
-oh my age now, 25! Im so full of my turning 2 year old son now and I always love this moment that I got to baby him all the way and be with him always.

7. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
-I want to learn how to swim and face my fears! :(

8. What kind of scent/ smell do you love the most?
-floral and sophisticated scent for me! One that could always bring out the best in me whenever wearing it. Scents can always drive my mood.

-Pray to thanks God. Then see for the next thing to do. I don't know. Lol

10. Who is the person that inspire you the most? and Why?
-really my family most specially my son. They're simply my reason why I have this will and strenght to do things with love and passion.

-I cant really think of somebody I would love to meet in person most specially those who are already dead. For me everyone that comes to my life and talk to me with good purpose and we got wonderful times sharing each others thoughts and views is just great enough.

Philippines Milk Code amendments worth opposing!

There was a breaking news about Milk Code Amendments here in the Philippines that for me as a breastfeeding mother is really worth opposing.

“The consolidated bill on
breastfeeding which is being contested would narrow down the application of the Milk Code only to artificial feeding products for the age group of 0 to 6 months instead of the current 0 to 36 months; lift all restrictions on donations of breast milk substitutes at the time of emergencies; make lactation breaks for breastfeeding mothers in the workplace unpaid; allow distribution of samples of breast milk substitutes in the health care system and allow milk formula companies to conduct and be involved in the promotion, education and production of educational activities and materials related to breastfeeding and infant and young child feeding,” said The Medical City Doctors. (philstar.com: Doctors oppose Milk Code amendments)

The said Milk Code amendments is not yet been approved yet I wonder how could they think of it, seems more favor of substitute milks than pushing breastfeeding capaign for the benefits of both the mother and the infant.

The passing of the Milk Code in 1986 which aims to catch up with international standards in breastfeeding and in protecting the health and development of both mothers and infants along with the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009 to provide necessary support services to enable breastfeeding mothers to combine family obligations with work responsibilities were both simple and favorable.

We cannot deny the facts that breastmilk is still the best for our children when it comes to nutrition. Breastfeeding also lessen the risk of breast cancer. And practically, it is free!

And since they already consider the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act which is in favor of the working moms who still wants to ensure optimum health for their child by providing establishment of lactation stations in workplaces,provision of breastfeeding breaks for working breastfeeding mothers and establishment of human milk banks in health institutions, why does it needs to have that kind of consolidated bill?

This simple thought appeals to me and its possible...

Let us say the bill passed.
A simple mother with nothing much to support her child, (whether she decided to work or not), knowing this bill, would might then choose to formula milk her child since the breastfeeding break at work is unpaid, afraid to be restricted having breastmik donation when she needs it and could just rely on samples distribution of breast milk substitutes in the health care system.

This could be a case taking unconsiderably the health benefits of breastfeeding.

It is also sad that this one of the unique features of every MOTHER is little by little replaced by substitutes.

Raising Smart Child: Learning from the Sense of Touch

I gave credit to visual stimulation as one of the good start to raising a smart child in my previous post.
Now let us discuss how the sense of touch take its part on raising a smart child.

I always stress out the involvement of the parents on this meaningful goal for our kids. As we aim for their betterment, it should also be us to take the necessary steps for making it possible.

The sense of touch is said to be vital on infants and initiates their sociability.

Through holding them we give them warmth. Unconsciously, they found protection on us. Some gentle rubs and touch and they knew they are loved.
They are not able to talk but we can communicate to them through it. So that means a lot to them.

Later on their development, when they were able to see things on their surroundings, they would then appreciate things through feeling it. They are then on their own exploration.

See them wanting to grasp a toy, tapping things on their reach, playing their own fingers and mashing their food? These little things they do with their hands benefits on their farther awareness and understanding.

Learning through a mere touch can also be observed on how they respond to their actions.

A pleasure of holding a soft marshmallows with their hands is something they would be fond to do whenever they see one of its kind again.

While...

The pain it brought them from touching a sharp thing would restrain them to even get close to such kind again.

Expose your child to different textures early. Their sense of touch helps them grow and develop their mental capacity as well.
Their social interaction begins as they learn for the mere touch.

More TOUCH = More INTERACTION = More LOVE!

Let them start interacting with your great LOVE!

Raising Smart Child: Get Started Through Visual Stimulation

Raising smart child is a tough but challenging job for parents.

I'ts like planting vines on a wide vacant plot.
The little vine sprouts were the children and parents were that posts beside each vines where it would use to
climb straight up in later time.

Sounds the same as with raising a child in the basic
manner yet those for raising smart child is different.

People were amazed by a
smart kid and always wanting their own child to be like one. I've never heard somebody or if there were some but maybe rare who says they never wanted a smart child of thier own.

Being smart is like an achievement that certifies self-worth and innate power.

Genes takes the most credit of it all as it carries the heredetary aspects of human that makes smart characteristics bearable by the next generations of his blood.

There were parents who
always wanted their children to be an excellent one. But "excellent" sounds too much that they would rather call it "smart".
It was then for they agree
it is something that makes every parents proud and effective.

Parents should know that their children, whether each of them were in-born smart, it is still on their hands where they rely their growth and development mostly on the time they are still very
young and dependent.

It can never be too much for the child to have mind stimulations earlier on his/her life. But it is just that time they should begin exploring.

The earlier the stimulation is
the better they develop themselves as human being.

Stimulations build interest and it should be done by the parents in most possible time, in most effective way, earlier on the child's life.

Setting it late for the child
would lead him to way different interest.

We should know that stimulation, through exposing them early to colorful pages of the books than the colorfull paintings of toys could have different effect on them as they grow up.

There's the possibility of both ways:

The child exposed early in colorfull toys might create interest in colors or interest in toys and both.

While,

The child exposed early in colorfull pages of the books might create interest in colors or interest in books or both.
Now...

Let us say that yes its just normal for the child to be interested in toys because he/she is still young and it is good if he/ she got interested more in colors or in both.

But...

Wouldn't it be better either way your child gets interested in colors or in books and best if he/she gets interested to both in his/her young age.

If you are a parent or in time would be a parent, if you just come up with this thinking or if you comes up with more aspects rather than this to your mind...

Give Your Toddler A Boost: Starting Early with Alphabets!

My son is 19 months old now and he already knows the alphabet.

3 months ago, I made a post. about the milestone, Lenard Roi has reached and he is 16 months by then. I mentioned about how he came up to that ability at his young age.
Read this to know the story.

I try to find more ways to enhance what he already knows for now. It's like having added appetite to guide him more to see how he may get further. My husband and I, as well as the people who got to see our son showing what he had learned were so much delighted.
And that was something great for a first time mom like me. Simply knowing that my efforts has been successfull is truly overwhelming. I take notes of every details and events that Iam working now to have furnish after every parents out there who might be hoping to get the same joy Iam having right now through sharing this one.

Child, God's Most Precious Gift!

Today is Leroi's 19th month. Im so proud that he had reached this milestone actively and in good health throughout the months. I really wish and pray that he continues to have a life well deserve for him with God's upon him all the time.

There is no such joy that Iam having right now as I see my son this loveable and smart.

I've prayed so much for a child of my wish and God has been greatfull for blessing me with this wonderful gift.

I know there were times that I forget to just say thank you to Him for even just the smallest thing He gave me, Iam not that religious either, but in my heart, there is always my deep acknowledgement to God.

I always said that Iam this kind of mother that I ever wanted to be.
I'm not so fortunate to have all the good things in life and just like everyone, there were also some trials that takes test on my well being but Iam still thankfull that Iam alive with purposes which I think is to be a better person for myself and for the others.
Specially, to be a good mother to my most precious dear.

There are many things that can break a heart,
Rejections and failures even just on your start,
Sorrows and grieving, marks of wars,
As well as the pain, of saying goodbye.

A heartfelt confession of a battered wife,
The weep of a woman who lost her son;
The bitterness made of being left behind..
Such longing for love that they are deprived.

Those cries in the silence, where no one is in sight;
Where only the prayers were uttered in sigh..
Tears flowing and hopeless mind,
Pleads for salvation from her sorrowful life.

All these, you know is a view of a MOTHER,
Their other side
We might not even get to bother.
The heart in full sore they don't just want us to feel,
For the sight of her sad child is the the last thing they would ever wanted to see.

In our young mind, we might question this..
Why would they have to keep just it;
Why don't they just fight like heroes on their leagues?
Why?
Because they are MOTHERS and they just know what is BEST.

In the most ugly times, we'll just know they're not weak,
They were able to fight,
They are always brave.
If it's for her FAMILY, there is no room for defeit.
She'd risk it all mindless of what it takes.

This is why every MOTHER is GREAT;
They keep everything inside for their child's sake.
Money, diamonds, nice clothings..
For them were nothing
Than US their CHILDREN,
THEIR MOST PRICELESS THING!

In life, you couldn't please everyone around you.

Some appreciate what you do, some couldn't understand you. There maybe a few who salute you, a number envy you or more of them don't just know the real you but are good at judging you.

Im aware of all these.. Though not for myself but for my MOTHER.

My mother is tough. She walk through life with all her strenght. Behind her sharp tongue that nags out all her complaints, is the heart of a MOTHER that I would always forlong and not ever wanted to get replaced by anyone else.

She got her weaknesses and Iam sure we all have. Because of it, she fell out in numbers of times. But it doesn't move my heart on loving her.
Her once fall of defeit is a pain to our family. I never give a damn. I just count on her great things done and just pray for that heart-tearing part of us to all get healed in time.

I have learned to weigh things in balance. To justify her means, to give my ownself explanations on how things happened.. To what extent she had her will to hurt us.

I did not speak, I avoid to ask. All the answers to my questions were just from my own speculations. If in this way, I could avoid to hurt her. She is full enough on bearing social bitter feedbacks. She had been such a community outcast and I know if its not for us, she could not remain tough.

Now, we're moving on. Forgetting things behind.
A spot remained and cannot in any way be removed.

But for me..
She is still my mother.

Im in no place to discern her. I awe her my life and that is all that it takes.

Iam now a mother and this makes me value my mother more. Iam not vocal on saying how I feel, but through writing this, to the whole world Iam saying..

A Sorry for Mom: Pre-Mother's Day Tribute!

Mother's Day is just a few days away for this year. Celebrating it has been part of our society.

In TV shows, we have seen on their features, lots of ways on how we take gratitudes to our mother.
On social networks and medias, shouts of greetings, tweets and graphical presents such as cards and banners are everywhere.

My question is..
Are all these just for this season?

It was just few weeks ago when I've seen this qoute, shared by my auntie on facebook.
It says..
We are too busy growing up that we almost forgot that our parents is getting old.
How true!

As for a mom like me, I just got to utter to myself the words that drives my tears roll down from my eyes.
That I hope, someday, my son got to realize about this more earlier than I was. Because I simply cannot bear the pain I caused to my mother upon not realizing that.
This MOTHER'S DAY, I want to say my SORRY to you mom! Again and again. And I Love You more than you ever know.

How To Handle Child Screaming

You are doing something in the kitchen when you heard a high pitched shout from your little cribble whose playing. Then you hurried yourself to him only to find out that nothing bad happened. Its just that he couldn't open a box or he can't take his shoes on.

The following days, you noticed that its more like being a habbit to him whenever he can't make his way to something.

You find it frustrating, right?
You might be wondering why he come up to this attitude.

This screaming thing is just normal on children in their early age.
Within 16 to 19 months, it is prominent.

At this age, they are still learning to produce words. Maybe an average of one word per day. And some might still connecting the words they already knew to each other.
They could now see things that they wanted to take try or immitate. These are their little goals.

Seing you or other person succeeding on doing what he is trying to do and ending things not the way he want it to be could easily frustrate him.
And because he knew he is failing and unable to say a word to express his frustration, all he can do is scream.

This won't get long, don't worry. Just cut out the shout at once. Make him feel that you're just there for help. Then if these things which he is up into were something not suitable for him to take a try, then find ways to turn his attention to something else they could do or make. Model for him. Let him see that you enjoy what you are doing. He will soon get attracted to your new activity. This will help him forget about what he is screaming for a while ago.

Being A Mom: First Conquest!

Moms, can you still recall your first reaction when you got to know you're pregnant?

Well, we probably goes beyond different kind of reactions. The way we behaved has packed into unique stories. Isn't it good to think back of that moment?

For me, it never went easy.

It went away far beyond my must be perspective and priorities. I would not forlong with the true story behind but rather share the wonder and changes it brought my life.

The drama which was kept within 9 months of being a mother of unborn baby is overwhelming. The odd feeling was great even after seing my precious child the first time in my arms.. Its empowering!

My mindset has changed into creating more usefull steps towards proper parenting. It was never a day without feeding my mind of better ways to keep my child on the right track.

Get Your Child Ready To Learn

Who says we need to wait until 2 years old for a child to teach him the alphabets?

Lenard Roi, my 16 months old son can now distinguish A,B and C aside frow his favorite 'circle'.

He can now depicts a number as a number though not knowing the exact name of it and often just say two, tee fah as what he refer to numbers.

It doesn't matter how early you can teach your child as far as you can see his/her interest on learning. Infact, the earlier it is, the better he will get further

The key is your patience. Consistency as well is a must.

In my case, it doesn't take long after my child's birth when i dedicate myself to give him the best for him as his first mentor. I knew already that it was me who would mold his interest to study.

I gather the materials that would be of help like books, colored papers, illustrations etc. You need to be creative too. As far as you have your resources whether recycled or new, just rely on your imagination. Draw, cut, paste, build something like color cards, picture and alphabet compilation and many more.

These things will be in use months later of your childs development period.

I started things from reading books to Lenard Roi in as early as 2 months old. A credit also to my recent job 2 to 3 months before my due date as tutorial teacher. As my work includes more reading exercises and ranging to 60 percent pre-school basic stuffs 6 to 7 hours a day, I'd be able to read for him at the same time.

As of now, im still finding more techniques on helping him have wider interest to explore academically. I know he relies on me. I know it is my responsibility. And i love him most that i try everything thats best for him.

A mom on worry is a usual scene when there is a toddler at home.

We could not hold those curious cribbles in one place without glancing at once on them as we take aback.

By nature, toodlers are active. They had learned how to use their locomotor parts and we can't just stop them from exploring around.

It is hightime to consider child proofing at home. It is the best hand on response to this problem.

Look out for those sharp edges and heavy furnitures on reach at home. Fix broken things that might harm your child. Keep poisonous things out of their reach.

Always be alert having your Cribble around and make sure they're within your sight most of the time.

A childproof home could not guarantee all the safety measures you expect, it is still our guidance which can make things atleast more athand.

Hush... You are pregnant!

I understand that you just couldn't stop grieving.
You feel dumped... You were neglected... Nobody's there for you... You have your 6 other kids and their good for nothing father left you with this... You're discriminated... You got nothing on your pocket and got to have a home for comfort with your condition... Whatever it is that you bear on your shoulder that cause you tears... Hush now! It will not be good for you and your baby.

Some experts has been explaining this throughout some ages. Scientists has done their research and Doctors never fail to give reminders about this.

Pregnant women should avoid STRESS.

The emotional negativity affects the growth and development of the baby inside the womb of the mother. The brain formation particularly get the damage. Some cases of mild to heavy bleeding which sometimes resulting to abortion, due to this matter, has been reported and considered an evident cause of the baby's death.

How cruel! Isn't it?

If you are into such a worst situation, and you blame it for your emotional grievance.. then let it just be the trashbin of your misfortunes.

Don't let this get into your veins to make yourself the cause of your much painfull loss at the end.

Treat your problems the other way around.

Let me hand you some suggestions...
Why don't you think for the baby you are carrying as the key for your success someday. That he/she might posses the things you wish you had for yourself and makes you equally proud. Let live into him/her the only hope that's left with you. With faith and prayer above all these, you'll see the sun rise.

Problems are always there whether you are aware of it or not. Whether it fills your senses already or you're just numb enough to face it.

But behind problems, GOD's presence is much to fill your mind. Hold on for your life and most importantly, for the future of your baby.

As I stare at the gray wall on our room.. Everything seems blank. Clear pages. Book's texts fade.
I don't want to live where everything is dull.
How many colors do we have? Wouldn't it turns out weard to be painted all in a piece.. In a part?
The real thing is... I'm troubled. Have some doubt.

See how a picture of things from our mind on concentration had brought up the reflection of what we truly feel?
I'm not a psychologist. I just know it's a mind related thing.

Have you tried assessing yourself up in a different way like this?
Sometimes i think this is an art. Or it surely is and I'm not just aware that it really is? I don't know but i badly hope so. All i know is that this weard thing in me satisfy me most of the time. It's like visualizing things and depicting what it might mean as long as I can.

This things leads me to love writing. It brings out the uniqueness in me which is later I don't just want to keep for myself.
I feel sharing would be something more than sharing it is. Not just for my own growth.. Not just to have me listened or to be understood. Not just to help by feeding my insights to troubled, my thoughts to someone might asking for opinion. Nor for the sake of the essence of writing.

I just feel it running through my veins!
I just love writing and it's not me without it.

Weaning A Baby From Breastfeeding

I have tried some ways of weaning my 17 months old son, Lenard Roi, from breastfeeding.

I started it a week before he turns 17 months by having my breast messily marked with a red lipstick, hoping he would refuse to suck it if it looks unwantedly dirty.

This thing worked in my first approach to him. He frowned in disappointment to what my breast looks like but by having it observed more for moment, he was then willing to take it no matter how it looks.

I refused to breastfeed him for a moment and tried the other way.

This was a plan with my husbands support and coordination.

We have prepared a bottled milk first as follow-up when he insist to have him feed. Lenard must not see me atleast just for the time we will execute the plan.

My Husband joined our son for long minutes of play and bonding until Lenard called a time out for a breastfeed as he shout 'dedede'. That's the cue. I didn't come for his need and remained out of his sight. His father gave him the bottle instead but he refused to take it, just biting the nipple and later throws the bottle away. He just cried and cried, shouting dedede everytime.

We couldn't bear seing our son that frustrated and decided just to wait for time he must be ready enough.

I have tested trying to alternate bottle and breastfeeding when Lenard was just 2 months old. He did it for the first 2 weeks, 25ml of milk formula once a day but does'nt want to suck on the silicon nipple on the following days. I assumed that is normal until one time, when I'am insisting him to bottle feed, he cried to his unwillingness not normally he does.

I stopped pursuing for the bottle and offered him my breast instead. He just continue to cry and doesn't taking my nipple even if it was already on his mouth. I got startled during that moment.

I thought he won't get recovered. My thanks to God when he gets back. From then on, I stopped giving him other milk for alternative.

Weaning your baby from breastfeeding takes time. As long as there is no risk in concern, you have the time and your milk is still in good terms, why not pursue breastfeeding until your child reach 2 years old? Isn't that what is best for him/her?

Breastmilk contains all the essential nutrients your child need for optimum health.

And besides, if your child can now eat solid foods, the money you would rather spend for buying milk formulas is wisely spendable enough for buying nutritious foods for the two of you.
