Each year the conference grows and this year we are very excited to have a record number of women registered for the conference. Including our team members we will have close to 600 women (and a couple of “tech dudes”) this year, including some from as far away as South Africa! We have closed registration with 200 women still on the waiting list. With so many concerns over the economy, we are still sold out! God is so good! We lifted this conference up in prayer before a single planning detail was discussed and God has provided immeasurably more than all we could ever ask for or imagine. To Him be the glory!

As we prepare for this all important conference, Lysa TerKeurst is doing a three day series of “Words of Encouragement Before She Speaks” that attendees can use as a devotion leading up to the conference. She will run them July 13, 14, and 15 (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). The purpose of the series is to get our hearts ready to receive all that the Lord has awaiting for us at She Speaks. Lysa will not only have devotions specifically designed to prepare our hearts for the conference, but attendees will have the opportunity to post their comments and prayer requests. Lysa would love for you to visit her blog, www.LysaTerKeurst.com, during these three days and join her in praying for the women who post comments and prayer requests.

Friends, there is still so much to do as we enter into these final weeks of preparation and I am asking you to come along side of us and cover this conference in prayer. Each year we are humbled by what God accomplishes in the women’s lives during these three days. Many are transformed before our very eyes as God speaks to their hearts. Satan will be hard at work to make trouble wherever he can. Please pray a hedge of protection around this entire conference. Specifically:

Pray for each other as we pray for you and for your families. As our prayer team, you are vitally important to Proverbs 31 Ministries. No decision, no speaking event, no conference, etc. is considered without prayer. So, first and foremost, pray for each other and pray for the prayer team as a unified group of Holy warriors.

Pray for all the little details that still need to be taken care of. Please pray that we don’t miss anything and that God multiplies our time so that everything that needs to be completed is completed.

Pray that I don’t confuse God’s plans for this weekend with my plans.

Pray that all of us remain mindful that all we do is set the stage. This is HIS conference. We set the stage in anticipation of His arrival, His works, and His life-changing power.

Pray for the Embassy Suites Concord Hotel and the Residence Inn Concord Hotel. Pray for the facilities and for the staff and their families. Pray also that those who do not know Jesus, will come to know Him through us.

Pray for our office facilities, computers, telephones, printer, and other necessary equipment.

Pray for our Worship leader, Cheri Keaggy. Pray that His spirit fills the room as she sings for His glory.

Pray for travel mercies for everyone coming to the conference - attendees, team members, editors, publishers, agents, special guests, and potential ministry partners.

Pray for the office staff as they work long hours to ensure that everything is completed with excellence. Pray for their families and their homes as well.

Pray for Doug, Reenie, Marc, and Ian who provide our audio/visual, recording, and staging for the conference at a tremendous discount.

Pray for each of our team members who will be speaking, presenting, leading worship, etc. during the conference. Pray for them as they prepare to share God’s words.

Pray for the editors, publishers, agents, etc. and for their all of the appointments that will take place during the conference.

Pray for the volunteers that are giving their time to help make this conference a success.

Pray for our speaker team meeting on July 29th and 30th. Pray for their time together and pray that they will accomplish all that they need to accomplish during their limited time together.

Pray for the 25 Next Generation “girls” (ages 12-17) who will be attending the conference this year. Pray that our team will set a Godly example of the Proverbs 31 Woman, and that He will inspire us and equip us to do everything in our power to raise up the next generation of Proverbs 31 women. Pray that these young hearts are encouraged and that God will spark a passion in each of them that nothing on earth can ever extinguish.

Pray for our partners in ministry, Compassion International, and for the precious children they represent. Pray that many children are sponsored during these three days.

Pray for financial blessings. The conference is a costly endeavor so please pray for the budget. The summer months are typically “lean” months for the ministry (limited speaking events, resource sales, etc.) and we need the conference to carry us through until the fall. Pray that hearts will be inspired to give generously to support Proverbs 31 Ministries. These donations help support the many areas of ministry we provide at no cost to the recipients.

Pray over all the details of the conference, those I have mentioned, and those I have forgotten to mention.

Please pray for the women who will be attending the conference this year. We began to pray for them before we even knew their names. Now we have the privilege of praying for them by name. Please pray that God will reach each woman, wherever they are and whatever their situation, and speak to them in such a way that they are overwhelmed by His presence. The names of each of these women, along with our team members, conference staff, and volunteers are listed below. We don’t know each individual need – but God does.

Treasured friends, you are a gift to this ministry. We can do nothing without you. You go before every decision, every speaking event, every conference, and every meeting. For holding us up through prayer, I pray that the God of all creation blesses you with more joy than your hearts can contain.

Sweet, Sweet Blessings!
LeAnn Rice
She Speaks Conference Director
~ Executive Director of Operations
Proverbs 31 Ministries

February 5, 2009

Dear Prayer Partners,

One of the financial philosophies that has guided Proverbs 31 Ministries is "money follows ministry." I have noticed in my four years of working in the area of development this philosphy is cyclical in nature. The more we walk in faith the more God surprises us. I have watched the leaders of this ministry step out in blind faith to follow God's leading, unsure of how a new endeavor would be paid for, but trusting God to provide for the fruition of His plan. And He does. Then in true God fashion Proverbs 31 Ministries will be invited to participate in a ministry opportunity we could only have dreamed of, and in many cases had dreamed of.

Last month Lysa and Renee shared the stage with Kate Gosselin and the musical talent of Ayiesha Woods and Jason Catron. Over 5000 women heard the gospel and life-giving good news of God's precious Word at the first Girl's Night Out event sponsored and hosted by KSBJ Christian radio in Houston, Texas. It was truly an incredible opportunity to invite a new audience of women to learn about Proverbs 31 Minsitries. The cycle continues this month as Lysa is joined by Shari Braendel and other Christian speakers to set sail on the Girl's Get-A-Way Cruise to Cozumel, Mexico.

The cycle begins with you each month, as you faithfully and sacrificially support Proverbs 31 through your prayers. God takes your offering of prayer and we have been so blessed by it. We stand in amazement at what God does each day and we wonder where the cycle will turn next.

Thank you for your prayers! Keep them coming, we couldn't do it without you!

In the Great Name of Jesus,

Wendy Pope
Coordinator of Development

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to our much appreciated prayer partners! I apologize that it's been so long since the blog has been updated. I will do my best to post at least 2 updates a month and sometimes more.

I pray you all had a wonderful Christmas that 2009 will bring an abundance of blessings to you. At Proverbs 31, we are so thankful for your prayers. Our ministry would not be the same without prayer. We consider it the most important thing anyone can do for us. Thank you so much.

We have some crucial prayer needs right now.

The first is concerning our website and server. Just before the new year, we changed servers. The one we had used for years closed. Although it's a good thing, as with most changes, there have been multiple glitches. Please pray for our devotions, prayer requests, resource orders, and anything else we depend on the website for.

The second is our upcoming She Speaks Conference. It will be held in Concord, NC, July 31- August 2, 2009. We are desperately trying to get our online registration ready. We need it up and running as soon as possible, and again, there are glitches preventing us from doing this. Just pray pray pray that online registration will open soon and run smoothly.

We also have many team members who are struggling in their lives. Family, employment, illnesses, trials...just like you experience too. Please lift up our staff, speaker team, and writers. We can feel your prayers!

And finally, we ask for prayer for another division of our prayer ministry. You all are Prayer Partners. You pray for our ministry. And wow, how we love you and need you for that! The other division of our prayer ministry is our Prayer Warriors. This is a very small group of people, in fact it's too small really. Prayer Warriors receive prayer requests from people all over the world who have emailed Proverbs 31 for prayer. We receive so many that there is no way our office staff can pray for these individually, so we have a team. Each day, I check the prayer request file and send them out to Prayer Warriors. We need more Prayer Warriors. If you are interested in becoming a Prayer Warrior, please email: adminassistant@proverbs31.org and put Prayer Warrior in the subject line. I will let you know the specifics if you are interested. It is just a one day a week commitment.

Thank you again for your vital part in this ministry.

New Years Blessings,

Melissa Taylor
Proverbs 31 Ministries

Dear Prayer Partners,

Millions of people die each day in our world without knowing the love of Jesus. We are aware of death. We may not know when it's coming, but we know death is an appointment we can't put off. The ironic thing is we are not truly prepared to live until we are prepared to die. By not securing their life in Christ, they will spend eternity separated from God. That truth breaks my heart. It stirs me to action when I think about those who will meet the Lord in death as their Judge instead of their Savior. I imagine it stirs your heart too.

God's desire is that none perish in His great mercy; God orchestrates our circumstances in order to bring many to His saving grace. Tragedy, sifted through the loving hands of God, has a way of bringing people to a decision about the fragility of life and their eternity. A hole in thier heart, a feeling they can't shake, or the pursuit for peace causes soul searching questions to arise from the emptiness of life. When they come searching, we are ready to give them Jesus, the only answer.

That's why you'll find this question on our website. "Do You Know Jesus?"

We want to do our part in reaching a lost and dying world for Christ. Your prayers for this ministry enable us to be available day and night via the internet. Because you are praying, thousands have discovered how to die, and live, by placing their eternity into the hands of God. So far this year, 875 people have given or recommitted their lives to Christ through our webpage. Many more can be added to that number through our speaking engagements. With you prayer support, we are expanding the Kingdom of God!

Thank you for partnering with us. We count it an honor and blessing to have you praying for us.

For the Kingdom,

Micca

Micca Campbell~Author/Speaker
Director of Outreach
Proverbs 31 Ministries

Thank You For Your Prayers!

Hi Prayer Team! We are so grateful to have you joining us in ministry. Many of you are new to our prayer team, let us welcome you to the family and thank you for the vital part you are choosing to play in achieving God's will through Proverbs 31 Ministries.

The summer has come to an end and that means our office and team of speakers and writers are about to get very busy. Our speakers will be doing a lot of traveling. They have been preparing messages that the Lord has given them in hopes of bringing women everywhere into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Many in these audiences will be accepting Christ for the very first time. Many are suffering in relationships and having difficulty balancing their busy lives. We need prayer to cover all of this. Prayers for our speakers and for their audiences.

We also have quite a few women on our team who are in the midst of writing their books which have publication deadlines. Would you also pray for them? They are pouring their hearts into these books and doing it for the glory of God.

And then there is our office ... the glue that holds it all together here at Proverbs. We need your prayers for wisdom, discernment, and the time to get done all that comes our way!

Thank you for covering us in prayer. Would you also pray for the families of the women who are working at Proverbs 31. We couldn't do it without them.

Our ultimate goal is to bring God's peace, purpose, and perspective to today's busy woman. We can do many things to achieve this goal, but the best thing we can do is to pray. We are honored to have you join us. We greatly value you and your commitment to pray for Proverbs 31 Ministries.

Blessings,

Proverbs 31 Prayer Ministry

Dear Prayer Partners,

It is mid July and very hot here in North Carolina. Our office is a bit more quiet during the summer than it is the rest of the year. It is a time when vacations are happening, kids are out of school, and the phones aren't ringing quite so much. There are a few things that remain the same, however, no matter what time of year it is.

Proverbs 31 Ministries strives for excellence every day of the year. Our mission is to bring God's peace, purpose, and perspective to today's busy woman. We send out our magazine every month of the year and our daily devotions each weekday of the year. Our radio program continues to run daily on radio stations all over the country. Resource orders are being shipped from our small office. Our writers and editors continue to fulfill their roles. And the prayer requests continue to pour in over the phone and internet. Our staff remains busy and dedicated to the mission of this ministry all year round.

Even though summer is often a time for relaxing and lazy afternoons, we still need our prayer partners more than ever. We thank you for your commitment to our ministry in this area. Please continue to pray for the items mentioned in the above paragraph.

I realize that you may feel unrecognized. You signed up to be a prayer partner, wanting to get involved. Let me assure you that we do recognize you. We love you, we appreciate you, and we need you more than words could express. Your role in this ministry is vital. We could not do what we do without the prayers of our friends. That's what we consider you to be, our friends.

So, even though we may not be able to personally contact each one of you (there are thousands of you!), please know that we are praying for you and thanking God that He brought you to partner with us.

Much Love and Blessings Abound,

Melissa Taylor
Prayer Ministry, Proverbs 31

Join us in prayer for The Next Generation

Dear Prayer Partners,

God is doing amazing things at Proverbs 31 Ministries! One of our newest ministries is Next Generation, for young women. Next Generation is composed of two divisions: Living with Purpose: A Radical Revolution for middle and high school aged girls and She Seeks for college and post-college singles.

Our vision for Next Generation is to be a source of encouragement and support for young women as they seek the Lord, strive to honor Him with their lives, and work to impact their generation with His love and truth.

Next Generation started off slowly but has gradually been building over the last year and a half. Currently, our ministry is focused on middle and high school girls and consists of an internet site on which we post weekly devotions written by a team of writers (www.radrevolution.blogspot.com), and a track at our annual She Speaks Conference designed specifically for this age group.

The impact of these ministries can be seen in the testimonies of various girls. Take, for instance, Mandy’s comment about an online devotion: “I was really challenged by your devotion to be the same person when people are watching and when they aren't. This was such a blessing to me…” Regarding the 2007 conference, Rachel said, "When the Next Generation Conference began, I felt shy and uncertain about what it would be like. After getting to know everyone…I calmed down and enjoyed the entire weekend. I loved being able to talk about my faith to other girls. I can't wait to attend again."

Please pray that God would continue to grow Next Generation into what He wants it to be and that He would use it to deeply and powerfully impact the lives of young women across the nation and world!

Thank you for your contributions, both through prayer and financially. This ministry would not be possible without your generous support!

With gratitude and joy,

Kristen Sigmon
Next Generation Coordinator

She Speaks is almost here!

Our biggest event of the year is quickly approaching. Our annual She Speaks Conference is this weekend! We are so excited for what God has planned during this time of learning, praying, developing and equipping. Women are coming from all over in hopes of gaining knowledge, confidence, and confirmation in their ministry calling.

We value each of you who have agreed to pray for Proverbs 31 Ministries. Thank you for your support and your time. Would you please be in prayer this week over our conference? Many of the women coming are nervous. There are so many details involved. We want hearts to be moved by the Lord. There is a Writer's Track, Speaker's Track, Leadership Track, and Teen Girl's Track. We would like all of our attendees, their families, the Proverbs 31 Team and Staff and their families, our volunteers and special guests and their families, and the hotel staff and their families to be prayed for.

We need your support in order to do what we do. Thank you for keeping us covered in prayer.

With deep gratitude and love,

Melissa Taylor
Proverbs 31 Ministries

April 30, 2008

Dear Prayer Partners,

Greetings! It is such a blessing to have you join us in ministry. We treasure your prayers and are thankful to have you as partners! Here are a few items you can be praying and praising God for:

All of us here at Proverbs 31 Ministries have been extra busy preparing for our upcoming She Speaks Conference in June. We will reach record breaking attendance this year! We are blown away by all that God is doing and absolutely thrilled that so many women want to attend! We will have close to 600 attending this year's conference and we have 250 on the waiting list.

There have been many speaking events this spring. Our speakers have been busy presenting God's message of unfailing and unconditional love to groups all over the country. They bring back amazing stories of women giving their hearts to the Lord for the first time as well as many re-commitments. They are encouraging women to walk in faith and helping to strengthen their belief and their relationships with God. We give God all the glory in this and thank Him for equipping us to serve Him.

We have a new Compassion International Video Clip for you to watch. It is from our trip to Ecuador last summer. Click http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6Krr_UceMU to see it. You will be blessed. Proverbs 31 has the privilege of partnering with Compassion International. It has been such a blessing to sponsor a child and encourage others to do the same.

Each month, we'll be giving you the names of those who work in different divisions of the ministry. This month it's our fabulous office staff. Please pray for these ladies by name. Pray also for their families and their role here at Proverbs.

Our office staff is: LeAnn Rice, Teri Buchholtz, Samantha Reed, Barb Spencer, Wendy Pope, Wendy Blight, Aimy Steele, Renee Swope, and Melissa Taylor.

Thank you so much for your prayers. They are greatly appreciated and needed!

Welcome Prayer Partners!

We are so honored to have you join us in prayer. Some of you have been praying with us for a long time and some of you are new. On behalf of the Proverbs 31 Ministries Team and Staff, let me thank you for your interest and desire to join us in prayer for the ministry. We need it and we couldn't do what we do without your support!

Chances are, you probably haven't heard from us in a while. We have been having a lot of trouble emailing our bi-monthly prayer letters. This blog format will eliminate that problem.

This blog will be our new way of communicating prayer requests to you. Instead of emailing you the current prayer needs of the ministry, we will be posting them on this blog at least twice a month, sometimes more. It will be up to you to check it and we trust that you will be praying for us.

You will also have the opportunity to comment or leave your prayers on the comment page. That is fine and we encourage it. We love to hear from you! In fact we hope that this will be a more personal way of communicating with you. We'd love if we could sit down and talk to each of you, but that is just not logistically possible. This will have to be the next best thing!

Over the next few weeks, we will be working to inform all of our prayer team members about this blog. After we have notified everyone, we will begin posting new prayer needs. In the mean time, there is a small list of prayer needs at the bottom of this post.

Thank you again for your support of Proverbs 31 Ministries. Romans 12:12 reminds us, "Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and always be prayerful." We are so appreciative and grateful to be covered by you in prayer.

Blessings,

Melissa Taylor
Proverbs 31 Ministries

Current Prayer Needs

1. Pray for the 500 women who will be attending this conference who desire to follow God's purpose for their lives. They are nervous and many are travelling from far far away places to attend. Pray also for our minsitry staff planning and working the event and the special guests we have joining us for the weekend. We need blankets of prayer all around every aspect of this powerful weekend.

4. Our volunteers

5.
