Prudence and Cat

Hello stranger!

2011-06-08T06:19:00.000-07:00

Yes, it's been a while since I wrote something, but, I've been through hell these last few months...I'm better but unfortunately, I'm not at my best...but I decided to get back to blogging.
I wanted to write about something, but I forgot what it was, so I'm just gonna make a short update thing. I started watching "Gilmore Girls" which is absolutely beautiful and fun, plus it's fun to remember the old days when I was like 11 or 12, and Jess (hehehe) was one of my first crushes. And Luke rullzzz! Lorelai and Rory's obsession with coffee has passed on to me and I actually started heavily drinking coffee after seeing them, and as Rory and Lorelai have no problem with drinking coffee at late hours, I have also developed that capacity. So, coffee amateurs have been warned.

The coffee situation has turned out good, because I have become pretty good at doing it, my mother actually liking it, even though we will have to buy a lot more from now on. It makes me feel good that I know that I have a quality. I make good coffee!

Summer

2011-03-07T05:01:00.000-08:00

I can't wait for summer to come. I want to go to the seaside and swim!!! And, of course that, once the summer has come all my troubles will be far away.

Favourite artists

2011-02-25T05:38:00.000-08:00

These are some of the artists that inspire me.
The Doors, Janice Joplin, Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Joey Ramone (The Ramones), Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Debbie Harry, Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand), Karen O. (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg, John Lydon and John Lennon.

Pretty hectic

2011-02-21T08:16:00.000-08:00

This weekend was such a busy one. Friday I finally found the time to see Black Swan and yesterday I saw 500 Days of Summer (after many friends asked me many times if I watched it, to which my answer was "Nope. Not yet." they would conclude with the phrase "How couldn't you have watched until now!?! Totally outrageous!!!", while now I am proud to say that "yes, I have watched it.")

I love this scene :))

Hopefully I will manage to see The King's speech and True Grit before the Academy Awards!

I say that this weekend was hectic because I had to go in so many places and meet so many people on such short notice. All of my friends seemed to have had free time this weekend. But it was rawther (I saw "Eloise at the Plaza" a while ago, and wanted to use her kind of vocabulary, even though it's not correct) cool. I went to have breakfast with my friend at Cafe Verona (the place is literally underground - so cool! - and it's nice cause' you can read one of the books or magazines they've got while you drink coffee/tea/hot chocolate *soo hipsterish :D*) , which I didn't even know it existed, even though I go weekly at Carturesti (book shop).

This is a part of the book shop. It's huge!

Today I had such a fright, cause I didn't know when I had to pay the fee for my college, and I thought I was expelled! But everything turned out to be OK.

I listened today to The Last Shadow Puppets and now I want even more to go to a concert!!!!

The Arctic Monkeys and The Rascals are brilliant on their own, but like this they become Mega BRILLIANT! I hope another album will come out soon!

But this turned out to be OK too (the concert thing) cause' Bestfest is going to be here this year, after a one year break (due to shortage of funds), and Pendulum is coming ( OMG I can't wait! ).

I thought this was The Prodigy version of this song, but a friend of mine (who is totally obsessed with The Prodigy) told me that this was a remix made by Pendulum, and this was how I found out about the band, and now I love them too :D.

Vivre sa vie

2011-02-12T03:20:00.000-08:00

I saw last night Vivre sa vie (or It's my life ) by Jean Luc Godard and I must say that it really moved me. It's a sad story, but I'm not gonna say anything more, cause maybe, some of you might want to see it. I chose this video because I love the song and I think it matches the imagery really well:).

I totally recommend this movie and the Nouvelle Vague album ( Bande à part ) which includes this song.

Skins

2011-02-07T09:19:00.000-08:00

I started watching Skins and I liked it so much that I've already seen the first 2 seasons:)

I don't know what has gotten into me, but I've started watching a lot of movies and TV shows with teenagers (well, I'm not that old, but it's still silly of me). I am also planning to watch "My So-Called Life". I must be really missing the days in highschool.

I didn't manage to find nice pics with all the characters... The first three are characters from the first generation (season 1 and 2) and the last two are characters from the third generation (season 5).

This is the trailer for the first season. It totally blew my mind:D

I just remeberd another TV show with teengers that I watched not so long ago. It's called Freaks and Geeks, but sadly it had only one season, because it was cancelled. It rocked!

Blue

2011-01-29T11:08:00.000-08:00

I love the way the hair looks, but I don't think I'll manage to do mine like in the pictures above. I tried once but it didn't look nice and after i washed it for like 3 or 4 times it turned green:)

And this is Regina Spektor (one of my favourite singers at the moment).

Enjoy!

Studying!!!

2011-01-27T03:08:00.000-08:00

Still studying for exams...I'm sooo tired.

Luckily, I found a nice way to relax. I'm watching Friends:)

I looove this show. It has the most original jokes!

Inspirational

2011-01-24T06:42:00.000-08:00

This song saved me. I'm not saying it just like that, cause I usually listen to the oldies.
This song literally saved me.
Music is ev-ry-thing to me.

Shelfari

2011-01-21T05:19:00.000-08:00

A friend of mine told me about this site and I love it. I really like to read, and this is a site where anyone can see how much they've read. You have your "shelf" where you put the books you've read and I absolutely love that you can rate, say if you own it or if it's on your wish list, it's condition or if it's loaned to a friend.

Running out of time

2010-12-29T09:25:00.000-08:00

Sooo, this week I started looking for an outfit for the New Year's Eve party, and I found a dress, but I can't seem to find some decent shoes. The past 3 days I have been searching for some cute shoes at all the shops I know and like, and I didn't get lucky. I hope I'll find something tomorrow, cause this shoe-hunt is tiring. Not to mention that I should've been studying, not shopping.

This week I've been obsessing over the new song from 30STM. Here is the video (uncensored version):

And last but not least, I surrendered to the vampire frenzy and started watching "True Blood" (the main reason for this might be that I like the intro song very much :) )

and I finished watching the first season of "The Walking Dead", a really nice show -I watched it, and it has been a while since I've seen a good horror movie- and it has only 6 episodes.

Jesse Eisenberg

I heard in this interview about the movie "The Red Shoes", and if Martin Scorsese liked it, I said I must see it. It was great!

I like Scorsese's film, so I decided to watch this movie so I could understand his movies better. And it's nice to know what movies inspire other people:).
For some, the movie might seem boring because it's an old one, but believe me, it's not.

Highly recommended

Shanghai

2010-06-02T04:16:00.000-07:00

I've got this new obsession with Shanghai. Well, actually, I had it before too, after I read "Shanghai Baby" by Wei Hui (a pretty nice novel), and now I started obsessing over it again, after seeing the "Dior Lady Blue" campaign.
