Manufacturer’s Description

The most technically advanced motion picture ever made has also inspired a video game that’s set to make its own waves, as the world of Pandora becomes interactive. Just like the film you must choose whether to side with the human military or the native Na’vi, as both fight for control of the planet.

Just like the film the game can be played in stereoscopic 3D, but whether you don the goggles or not the intense third person action stands on its own. The game’s huge levels leave plenty of space for the two sides to face off, with the technologically advanced humans surprisingly even matched against the super strong Na’vi.

You need brawn as well as brain to win though, with unlockable abilities that can change the course of battle and a strategic overview map to keep control of. With the whole game closely overseen by James Cameron this is one of the most authentic movie tie-ins ever made.

Untold story: Explore the world of Pandora in an exclusive prequel story set before the movie, but created with the help of the film creators – including James Cameron.

Cinematic visuals: Incredible graphics replicate the look and feel of the film, from the deadly wildlife to the giant floating islands.

Evolve or die: Unlock new skills and abilities by accumulating “effort points”, from air strikes and invisibility for the humans to deadly animal mounts as the Na’vi.

Risky business: Strategic overview map lets you plot the overall course of the war – although the biggest decision is which army you choose to side with.

The third way: Just like the film you can experience the whole of the Avatar game in full 3D, if you have a console with HDMI output and a 120Hz TV.

Manufacturer’s Description

There have plenty of World War II games over the years, but none with the intrigue and danger of The Saboteur. As Irishman Sean Devlin you must fight back against the Nazi occupation of Paris, working with British Intelligence and the French Resistance to pave the way for D-Day.

Explore an open world recreation of wartime Paris and fight to free the city, with newly liberated districts turning from black and white to colour as the strength of the occupying forces weakens. Only by inspiring the civilians’ will to fight can you begin to turn the tide, as you assassinate German officials and sabotage equipment, vehicles and buildings.

The closer you get to final victory the more help you’ll have, but for many missions you must rely on your own stealth tactics and combat skills. As you clamber across rooftops and make use of the intuitive cover system, you can help win WWII from a very different perspective.

Key Features

Resistance is not futile: Stealth, action and ’40s chic combine in a unique take on World War II warfare that’s inspired by true events and people.

Colour of victory: Watch liberated districts burst into colour, as you fight to free a city where Nazi symbols are the only things not in black and white.

Assassin’s creed: Use your stealth skills to assassinate the Nazis responsible for killing your friends, as you race across rooftops and use cover to strike without being seen.

Weapons of war: Collect and utilise a wide range of weapons and explosives to help your missions or commandeer enemy vehicles to complete your goals.

Power to the people: Inspire the people with your victories and you can count on help from the Maquis, ordinary civilians and British Intelligence.

World War II games aren’t exactly thin on the ground, but there has never been one remotely like The Saboteur. Instead of sticking you on the front lines, it immerses you in an edgy, paranoid Paris, occupied by the Nazis, in which the Resistance is struggling to remain below the radar yet strike back at the oppressors. Take this delicious scenario and add Grand Theft Auto-style third-person, free-roaming action-adventure gameplay, then season it with some exceedingly clever visuals — areas locked down by the Nazis are rendered in near-monochrome, with just the odd splash of colour – and you have a tasty dish indeed.

Vibrant colours abound, mind you, as proceedings kick off: the war hasn’t yet started, and you find yourself playing Sean Devlin, a devil-may-care Irishman who is a race-car mechanic and budding driver. A race on the eve of the war brings you into contact with your nemesis, high-ranking Nazi Kurt Dierker, who murders your best mate Jules; as war erupts, you rescue Jules’ sister Veronique and your mentor Vittore, pitching up in Paris at a house of ill-repute called the Belle de Nuit.

Which is where the fun really starts. A now cynical, hard-bitten Devlin, seeking to avenge Jules and look after the impulsive Veronique, falls in with the French Resistance and, through British old flame Skylar Sinclair British Intelligence, and carries out increasingly risky missions for both organisations, as well as other wings of the Resistance, priests and all sorts of others. The Saboteur is a meaty game with vast numbers of missions and side-missions; those involving the Resistance and British Intelligence advance the story, though.

Open-world action-adventure games are all about systems which determine how the world operates and in that respect, The Saboteur is state-of-the-art. The key system is Suspicion – the Nazis occupying Paris were famously paranoid, and if any of them spot you doing anything untoward, they will blow whistles to sound the alarm. At which point you will be swamped by the blighters.

It’s lucky, then, that Devlin has stealth abilities – when he bloodlessly executes Nazis, he can don their uniforms and creep around. And he can scale buildings, and thus approach unexpectedly from the rooftops. Escaping from suspicion involves distancing yourself from pursuers or finding a hiding-place. The weaponry is pleasingly exotic, including scoped sniper-rifles and RPGs; ammo is plentiful. A Contraband system acts as currency, which you can exchange for useful items with spivvy black marketers (who also assign you side-missions). The cars are great, too, and you get free access to any you’ve stolen once you have driven them back to one of many secure garages dotted around the city. A period soundtrack ratchets up the pungent atmosphere.

The aspect of The Saboteur which really stands out, though, is its missions: they ramp up before long to a truly spectacular level, and take in all manner of exotic locations, such as a Zeppelin or the Louvre. Impressively, you never feel that you have to take a specific approach although, in general, stealth is best employed unless there are only a few enemies in the vicinity. The story and characters impress, too, with more depth than we are used to finding in games – Skylar flirts incorrigibly with Devlin, for example, and Margot de Bonnaire, leader of one of the Resistance factions, is obsessed with wrestling Parisian artworks from the grip of the Nazis.

If the idea of enacting a GTA-style game in a stylised yet utterly believable Occupied Paris appeals to you (and how could it not?), then you’re going to love The Saboteur.

About the Developer: Pandemic Studios
After merging with BioWare and then being bought by EA, Pandemic became one of the biggest studios in the U.S. They’ve worked on many different styles of games, from Star Wars: Battlefront to Mercenaries, but they were closed in 2009 – although the name and some staff remain at EA.

Product Description

Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition combines the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed videogame and three new levels to create the definitive ultimate-evil storyline of the events that occurred between the two classic Star Wars movie trilogies*.

Additional content includes two levels set on Coruscant and Tatooine previously only available via direct download, and an all-new bonus level available only in the Ultimate Sith Edition package.

The Ultimate Sith Edition expands the story of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and re-imagines the Star Wars Saga as if the Secret Apprentice had killed Darth Vader and taken his place at The Emperor’s side, becoming the most powerful Sith Lord in the universe.

In the Ultimate Sith Edition, the Emperor sends his new apprentice to the planet Tatooine to dispatch Obi-Wan Kenobi — who has been hiding on the planet ever since the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. During their hunt for the reclusive Jedi, players will also explore the depths of Jabba the Hutt’s palace and encounter notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett.

In the game’s thrilling finale, the Secret Apprentice is sent to the planet Hoth on a crusade to crush the Rebellion once and for all. While on Hoth, players face Luke Skywalker himself while visiting iconic locations seen in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.

The Ultimate Sith Edition gives gamers a chance to experience the full power of the dark side of the Force. Create devastating attack combos using the Secret Apprentice’s lightsaber and over-the-top Force powers – Force push, grip, repulse and lighting. Upgrade and master these powers to leave a path of destruction behind you in your quest to rid the Galaxy of the Jedi.

The Secret Apprentice doesn’t just defeat his enemies with the Force – he hurls them through walls, smashes them into objects, shocks them with lightning, and even transforms them into Force-charged bombs capable of massive destruction.

Cross Edge features characters and storylines from popular franchises including: Darkstalkers, Disgaea, Mana Khemia, and Spectral Souls. Cross Edge is action-packed with memorable characters, amazing items, and over-the-top battles to deliver an once-in-a-lifetime gaming experience.

Story
The story of Cross Edge follows the adventures of hero and heroine York Neely and Miki Aiba. Awaking in a strange world, they are soon sought out by a little girl named May. She tells them that the world around them was created from souls gathered from other worlds and that if this stealing of souls from other places does not stop, sooner or later those other places–that is reality–will disappear forever. To stop this from happening they will have to defeat this new world’s evil master by releasing all the souls now confined to his nightmare world. To do this they will need all the special abilities that they possess, as well as the help they will gain from others that they meet on their travels.

Gameplay
Cross Edge is a traditional Japanese role-playing game complete with world map, random battles, level grinding, item combining/creation using alchemy, etc. It also features heroes and villains from game franchises published by Gust, Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Namco Bandai and Idea Factory. As players set about freeing the trapped souls supporting the nightmare world that they are stuck in, they engage in turn-based team battles. This is where the characters from previous games come in. Players must enlist them to join in party-based battles. Success in these battles is based on the ability to string together specific moves into chain attack sequences, which in turn unlock even stronger combinations when successful. Players can also increase their characters’ stats and abilities by acquiring additional costumes called ‘forms’ and redressing their characters in them. Female characters physical appearances can also be changed based on the form they’re wearing.

The goal of the game is to release souls. You can find and collect souls by searching around area maps. Exposure to souls can grant players items or unlock events. Along with soul related events, maps will also point players to other helpful locations such as event points, points at which other events may occur, and save points, where you can save your game as well as buy, sell and trade items.

Key Features

Cross Edge combines classic RPG combat with a grid-based Strategy RPG combat to create a hybrid battle system. In combat, a square grid will appear beneath the units. Some units are better at close combat and others at a distance, so players must strategically move their units to battle enemies.

In combat, some units can toss up enemies and chain combo various moves for extra damage, like in a fighting game.

By using characters from Gust titles, players can use alchemy to craft weapons.

Change costumes to increase character’s stats and abilities, and in some cases revealing cut scenes.

Explore dungeons to run, jump and attack.

Cross Edge is bilingual. Players have the option to choose between English or Japanese voiceovers.

Add to your PlayStation trophy collection as you play through the game.
