Blacklight: Tango Down is a First Person Shooter set in a dystopian future in which two opposing enemies, The Order and the Blacklight Special Forces, are battling it out to bring peace and security to their world. This sounds like your typical “generic sci-fi shooter”, but the developers over at Zombie have packed a lot into this downloadable game. Read on to see if it’s enough to warrant your attention.

Blacklight really does have a lot to offer. There are 12 different maps to battle it out online, as well as a cooperative “Black Ops mode” in which you and up to three other friends can work your way through waves of enemies towards the end of each level. There is no single player mode, and no real story to the game, but it doesn’t need any of that. With the focus on multiplayer, Blacklight will keep you busy for a long time to come.

The controls are tight and familiar, and veterans of Call of Duty should be able to jump right in. You can sprint, melee, aim down the sights and shoot just as you would expect. One major difference is the incorporation of the Hyper Reality Visor (HRV), which allows you to see all nearby enemies, allies, and ammo crates. This essentially eliminates campers, and will let you know about any surprises around the corner. When using HRV you cant attack, so be cautious. Also, after every use HRV will have to recharge which keeps things balanced.

There’s an insane amount of customization that you can unlock by ranking up and playing the cooperative mode. There are a multitude of sights, stocks, and barrels, as well as weapon camouflages, body armor, and dog tags. Blacklight is like a Candy Land for people who like to customize. Each level you gain will unlock several new customizations and weapons, giving you constant rewards for your effort, and it can be very addicting as you deck out your assault rifle just the way you want it, trying to get that next scope or barrel.

Blacklight: Tango Down may not be anything new, but what it offers is very polished and fun. There are seven game modes to experience, the Black Ops mode which you can play on your own or with friends, and heaps of unlockabes that help keep the multiplayer addicting. If you are looking for a cheep way to jump online and battle it out with some friends, than Blacklight is hard to ignore, and for only $15 you really are getting a great experience.

Our Overall Score: 8.0

The post Blacklight: Tango Down – When Nostalgia Calls Back! first appeared on PS3Vault.

In today’s rapid growing world of technology, it’s a bit challenging activity to stay updated and prepared for all kind of new gadgets and applications which are getting released on a daily basis.
Same situation applies to gaming niche. We have many different consoles of all types, made by different brands & companies. Aside from consoles, massive percentage of gamers use their personal computers, laptops and Macbooks to play their favorite video games.

In recent years, because of advancement in producing smaller hardware parts which are still powerful in specifications (CPU and GPU units) even laptops started becoming “powerful” enough to be able to run high-end demanding games. However, giant tech names of gaming consoles, such as Sony, Nintendo and others still keep their customers who are loyal to console gaming.
This situation applies to PlayStation console. With their latest and currently trending PS5 console, which still keeps some of gaming titles as their exclusive games, produced for PS5 only, it makes and forces gamers to buy and own PlayStation 5 console if they want to run their desired PS5-exclusive game.
Examples of such games are Ghost of Yotei, Marvel’s Wolverine (still in development mode), Horizon Zero Dawn remastered, Astro’s Playroom and many other exclusive titles.

There are, however, many gamers who prefer playing on their PC only, and console gaming is just not their style, or some of them unfortunately cannot afford themself a PS5 to game on it, especially those gamers living in third world countries. Reasons vary.

Luckily, there is a way to run PlayStation 5 console games on a PC, and even those games released for older Sony’s consoles too. The solution to do so i a newly released software for Windows and macOS operating systems called PS5Emux, which is a PS5 emulator application developed just for this reason – to help PC players to play their favorite PS5 gaming titles on desktop and laptop computers!

The PS5Emux developers made their emulator to adapt its running game performance according to a PC’s hardware specs which is running it. Means that a certain game will have different graphics quality and FPS displayed when run on PCs with different GPUs and CPUs. In a scenario if a PC1 has stronger hardware specs – game’s GFX details and performance will be looking better than on PC2, which has a weaker GPU & CPU than PC1.

Windows PC & macOS (Macbook) PS5 Emulator

The emulator is currently supported to run on Windows and Mac computers. While Mac being a bit more restricted at the moment due to their overall more conservative & protected operating system compared to Windows. But with time, developers claim that macOS will get to the equal level as their PC version.
Windows supported versions are 10 and 11 as of this time.

iOS & Android PlayStation 5 Emulator Apps Released Soon!

Idea to make it supported as a smartphone app, for major mobile systems including Android and iOS has just recently got born. Since mobile phone devices are still much less powerful in hardware specifications compared to desktop computers and laptops, tweaking the console emulating application and making it work on smartphones is still demanding task to achieve, but not impossible – coders claim.

At this point the latest stages of making the PS5Emux the ultimate all-in-one PlayStation emulator, which developers are currently working on is, expanding their online server with games for all PlayStation consoles uploading on it. Means that their PS5Emux application be able to run even games released for PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP. This task is a bit challenging to accomplish, since they have to struggle with copyrights with all games’ authors. Solution is find a bulletproof server, with location in a third world country, like Russia or North Korea, who won’t care about copyright reports, ignore them, and continue providing their service or making every of PlayStation game downloadable and accessible at any time any player wants to get them.

3 Ways to Run Games with PS5Emux Emulator

PS5Emux offers multiple ways to load or insert a game which players desire to run. The vanilla way is to load them via CD/DVD/BluRay disc in a PC’s drive, and load it from there, the same way which goes from an usual PlayStation console.
Second way is to have an .ISO file of the game. This is an usual file format of games downloaded from internet, either via torrent networks or direct-download mode. Inside the emulator, browse for game’s ISO file, confirm it and play from there.
3rd way is using PS5Emux’ online server with library of all-in-one PlayStation games uploaded on. At this time not yet all the games has been uploaded, since there are tons of them. But PS5Emux authors claim the process will be done within next few months until completed. They also promise to keep their game-library updated regularly with newly released PS5 games added.

System Requirements (Automatically adaptable)

As explained earlier, PS5Emux will automatically set graphics quality on players screen, depending on their computer’ hardware parts power. Even old PCs are able to run PS5 games with PS5Emux software, but they will be displayed pixelated (similar to PS1 games) in case their CPU and GPU are weak enough. This makes it affordable and desired to any player worldwide. It’s what actually makes it special amongst other console emulators.

How to Download and install PS5Emux?

Developers made it a bit diversified depending on a country IP address a player is trying to download the emulator from. Since PS5Emux is a free software and available to be downloaded directly from its official website, a newly type of automatic-AI-malware are regularly scanning for programs such as these so they can automatically inject itself to it, in a goal of spreading across other machines. To prevent this, downloading PS5Emux will either be locked by captcha-survey or normal captcha-system, or it will get packed in a password locked ZIP file. So make sure to follow the instructions on its download page, explaining what exactly you should do to be able to unlock this ultimate and lovely PS5 emulator.

Enjoy gaming with it!

The post Is it possible to play PS5 & PS4 games on a PC Windows or Macbook? first appeared on PS3Vault.

Here are the latest review scores, taken fresh from the UK OPM (#25, Dec 08)

Resistance 2: 9
Mirror’s Edge: 9
Bioshock: 10
Tomb Raider Underworld: 8
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift: 8
Far Cry 2: 9
Midnight Club: LA: 9
Dead Space: 8
Saints Row 2: 5
Tom Clancy’s Endwar: 8
Valkyria Chronicles: 8
Baja: Edge of Control: 2
WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009: 8
Disgaea 3: 8
Silent Hill: Homecoming: 7
Lego Batman: 7
NBA 2K9: 8
Blitz The League II: 6
Mega Man 9: 5
NFL Head Coach 09: 7
Soul Calibur IV (online mode only): 7

Rats. I was quietly hoping Mirror’s Edge would suck so I wouldn’t have to drop ANOTHER $60 in 08. Oh well…

The Dead Space score is accurate. The game is great, but there are a few issues holding it back from being excellent.

I’ve gotta agree with Juano, I’ve rented Dead Space, and whilst it is pretty damn thrilling and the graphics are spectacular, some sections of gameplay, and the enemies (apart from the bosses) are all very similar… If it had different, inventive ways to kill people, and the enemy sprites were different, then I reckon it could’ve scored 9…

Oh, and I’m REALLY annoyed that Bioshock scored 10, simply because I was only planning on renting it, but now I feel the compulsion to buy.

The post Official Playstation Magazine (UK) Review Scores For Upcoming December first appeared on PS3Vault.

Online Review Scores:

Red Faction Guerrilla – 7
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 – 8
Ghostbusters – 6

And in the next issue? Only a world exclusive review of Uncharted 2!

The final paragraph states that this is by far the best comic book game on the PS3, and it “rivals” other leading action games on the PS3. This game’s just hit my radar, just waiting for another few review scores similar to that and it’s a must buy.

Any one else notice they’ve got a score for “Street Fighter Alpha 2 (PSN)”, does that mean PAL is getting another old Capcom games 7 years after the states? SWEET!!!

Obviously. But why are the mags doing a review of transformers revenge of the fallen in a SEPTEMBER magazine?
The game was out in late june every game web site had a review why not mags.
i dont buy a magazine to read about games ive been playing for the last week or so.
which is exactly what happend this month, i bought a new mag and its got games released in july.
whats the point of reading about the game if ive been playing it for the last few weeks.
i miss the good old days where mags were the first to get previews of games.
they were 80% previews of games long long off.
10% game reviews.
10% previews of games soon released or other things like hardware or comps.
they were proper mags, the ones these days are more used as a medium to tell us if a game is worth buying or not, they should not be used for that thats what the internet is for.

Because they have been sent a review copy of the game and are obligated to review it, and may not have had chance to review it earlier because they review other, bigger, better games. Besides, you don’t know when they got that review copy. Then it has to be put into the mag, which is limited by pages and millions of other things I couldn’t even mention.

And yeah, obviously previews of games we wouldn’t get to play for years is SO much better than reviews of games I might want to actually buy in the next week. And again, it’s up to publishers to arrange preview sessions, not the magazine, they can’t preview something they haven’t been shown.

The post PlayStation Official Magazine – Review Scores (UK) [September: Lib 35] first appeared on PS3Vault.

Back in February of this year, developer Codemasters made it public knowledge that multiple DLC packs would be released for Colin McRae: Dirt 2 shortly after the game’s launch. As explained by Senior Executive Producer Gavin Raeburn, the said DLC would allow players to personalise and augment the boxed game – a vague and intriguing statement.

Sure enough, two DLC packs labelled ’Trust Fund’ and ’Access All Areas’ are alluded to (but greyed-out) under downloadable content in the Extras segment of DiRT 2’s menu interface. Yesterday, this content became available on the US PlayStation Store – don’t worry Europe, you’re not missing anything…

The US PlayStation Blog details the new content:

We are disappointed. After almost eight months of hype, high hopes and speculation, all we’re given is the option to instantly unlock and access all in-game content – content that can in fact be acquired free-of-charge by simply devoting a mere 8-10 hours to completing DiRT Tour mode. It makes us wonder: if a gamer has no intention of playing through the integral component of a game, why buy it at all?

So no new cars, or additional tracks, just an easy way out. What a shame.

Chris: uumm… multiplayer maybe? idk. does DiRT 2 even have a splitscreen mode?

Generally, multiplayer components are not integral but complimentary to the core of a game, often serving as preparation for the online gaming experience. If single player wasn’t important, surely multiplayer-only games would dominate the market which, at present, they do not.

Don’t get me wrong, you make a fair point, but buying a game just to play one segment of the overall package doesn’t make any sense to me. That’s my view, anyway. Plus, I like to play my way through a game, not pay my way through.

Fenox:
Codemasters…i will never forget this crap…
bye bye ….Operation Flashpoint ….f1 2009….Fuel …Grid…..and all your Raeburn hype crap.

Pete:
I have always been a great fan of Codemasters ever since their first games and I am going back to when games were on cassette tapes. They were a low budget but high quality company and always produced good stuff at a low price, thank you for that Codemasters. However, I do believe that if companies continue to rip people off with this so called DLC then poeple will eventually quit buying games and the industry will go down. Responding to Fenox, I too am disappointed with the empty promise of an F1 game for 360, I have about given up on it and will not buy another system just so I can get the game I want. Pretty soon, we will have the means to produce our own games in the home just like music production, it has become affordable and education is available in abundance. My message is just keep pushing guys, keep on taking until your own pockets are empty, its very sad to see so much corruption and greed within this industry and you wonder why there is so much piracy, people will always find a way if the price aint right.

mmgm:
I don’t agree with paying for something that should be included in the game to begin with, these are basically just cheat codes – with just about any other games you can find the code online, now they want you too actually pay for it? It’s just not worth it.

James:
I think its great value, for a gal on the go like myself its perfect and at only $4.99 i might even buy it twice!!!

Honestly, I don’t see what the big deal is. If you see it as “corrupt”, then don’t buy it. It’s just for people who can;t be f-ed to finish a game. Everything included in the DLC is available once you finish the game, anyway, so who cares? Finish the game, save $5.

Darren: It’s a cop-out andrew. Personalise and augment the boxed game indeed… what Codemasters meant was ‘buy our game, then pay us to cheat your way through it’. Ridiculous.

I have to ask; why buy the game at all if you have no intention of finishing it? Just don’t buy the game, save $50.

Timber: Andrew, it’s more about business ethics and individual morality.. I know, small things to this generation, but is still the foundation that this (or any) industry or structure is constructed on. You may not see the cracks that will cause it to crumble, you may be too young to see across a span of time.. Know your history, because it’s happening again.

So far, I’m quite dissapointed with DiRT 2, it seems like they took 10 steps backwards from DiRT 1. The tracks or ” rally stages” if you will, are so limited, you see the same thing over and over again. With DiRT it was much more diverse, playing with my friend, he even noticed roads he had cycled on in Europe. While I can’t say for sure, it seems like DiRT 2 isn’t even based on real roads for the most part. And 8 laps around the Los Angeles X-Games track for the “Domination” thing, holy crap, I was so bored. This is so lame. And what the heck, A 350Z and an Eclipse rally car? I’m not saying they don’t exist, just that I’ve never ever seen them, and I don’t want to drive them on dirt roads, not in real life, or on XBox. So where are the European cars, C4, Focus RS, Fiesta? The only thing I can say if really good, is the feel of driving from inside the car, that’s pretty sweet, now if only we had some roads to drive on.
At least I can still play the original DiRT. That was a good game. One more thing, can I please have a snow rally, good grief.

I thought dirt 2 was a great game, graphics were really good especially the backdrops. It does need a snow stage and definitely more tracks and random weather like rain. But as for there not being any real rally cars, the only reason i can give is that americans want to drive cars that they like and that they think are cool…not hatchbacks

csreynolds:
The car selection was not a HUGE disappointment, even though Codies promised over 40 licensed vehicles (delivering only 35)… the DLC was. I certainly agree that a selection of snow races are needed (Switzerland DLC pack?). Having another country to race in would be DLC I’d definitely purchase.

I sincerely doubt they’ll release any Citroens since GT5 bought the rights to the WRC. Hopefully they’ll release some Fords now that Ken Block is going to be driving a Fiesta, and Monster WRT ave a Focus. Here’s hoping!

Cody: I really loved the original dirt for ps3…although the vehicle handling is way better in dirt 2…I wish they could have taken both games and combined them…I’d like to see more rally stage and more realistic tracks. I feel like they went too much down the arcade route for this version.

Rob: I feel the same that the game was a huge disappointment, the game lacked any cars that really had any effect on rally in the past……..Not a single Lancia, peugeot, renault and the classic subaru’s and nissa’s and also where was FORD…………! That game was a poor excuse for rally game becuase of a lack of quality tracks and the over advertising of the “X GAMES” and people who began a career as a punk on a skate board or BMX. Codemaster’s have let the entire rally followers down just because of a focus on an age group no older than 16. I’m 19 and it appears I know more about the rally scene. The driving was ok and the effects where cool but I want a bit more than that pretty picture they are slapping me with. I also cant ever play the game again because they chose the Bowler Nemesis over the WILDCAT….!?! This also proves my point as to just painting a pretty picture. I was greatly let down as there was no scottish rally aswell and it was named after a scottish rally legend, its a let down, thats it, just a let down.

Jeff:
With all the over advertising you’d think they could put Pastrana’s Red Bull logo on his car at least. They slap it on a dumb@$$ Volkswagen toureg but not an actual sponsored driver’s car? Yeah the game is pretty much all about Monster Energy, but TP is a multitime Rally winner and champ. Speaking on DLC, where the hell is Block’s new ride. Throw that kickass 2010 Ford Fiesta Monster Rally Team in a DLC with some of TP Red Bull liveries and I’ll throw down $5.

The post Codemasters’ DiRT 2 DLC is… Disappointing! first appeared on PS3Vault.
