XSEED Games have announced new two PlayStation Vita games that plan to launched in North America. Localizations for a monster-hunter adventure, Ragnarok Odyssey and the Music Strategy Game, Orgarhythm were set be released at a recent XSEED event. Both games will be available sometime in 2012 as described in GamesRadar;

“This evening at an event held by XSEED, it was announced that the publisher will be bringing both Ragnarok Odyssey and the oddball music strategy game, Orgarhythm, to North America.

Ragnarok Odyssey was previously released in Japan and garnered fairly high praise from famous Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, earning scores of 9, 8, 8, 7 from their four reviewers.

It is said to be something of a Monster Hunter-style game, and features a focus on “action-heavy” melee combat. It’s being developed by GameArts which has worked on the Lunar and Grandia series.

The other title, Orgarhythm, was just announced a few days ago, and it’s described as a rhythm-based combat game that doesn’t sound too far off from something like a 3D Patapon. Players take control of a God-like figure who controls a set of elemental minions, and use the touch screen to choose formations while using different rhythms for different attacks.

XSEED said the game consists of twelve different maps which never play the same way twice, as the AI remembers your previous tactics and adjusts. It will also have both competitive and cooperative multiplayer….More at Ragnarok Odyssey and Orgarhythm coming to North American Vitas“

Travel around the ruined world and join a campaign to take down monsters and giants from Norse myths. You can enjoy the extremely versatile combat system with chain together massive combo attacks both on the ground and in the air. “Ragnarok Odyssey is an amazing game that players have recognized through its position as one of the best-selling PS Vita titles in Japan,” As Ken Berry, Executive Vice President of XSEED Games said for this game.

There’s a good news for JRPG lovers, the best game awarded Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is announced from Atlus to be remastered and will arrive in North America this fall exclusively for the PS Vita. You can see more reveal of the upcoming Persona 4 Golden from Jabbari, the Manager of Public Relations and Sales of Atlus;

“That’s right, boys and girls, Persona 4 Golden, the enhanced and expanded (yet comfortably handheld) upgrade to the award-winning RPG classic, is coming to a PS Vita near you–preferably the one in your hands as you’re reading this–this fall.

The original game has an overall Metacritic score of 90 and tons of “Editor’s Choice” and “Best Of” awards. It’s generally considered one of the finest games ever made, certainly one of the best in its genre, delivering oodles of hours of enthralling storytelling, immensely satisfying combat, intricate party management, and addicting Persona collection and customization. Social Links, the system through which players can develop and strengthen bonds with characters in the game world—relationships that will enrich the overall experience and enhance their party’s combat capabilities—are as incredibly addictive and fulfilling as ever.

And then there’s all the new stuff, the improvements, if you will: remastered visuals and sounds; new Personas to collect; new story events along with an all-new character; 1.5 times the voiced dialogue of the original release; a new online “dungeon rescue” feature that allows users to call on other players for assistance in real time when they are about to die in the TV world; stunning new anime cutscenes, which include a new opening animation with a new song from master composer Shoji Meguro; a host of fan-suggested tweaks and changes, and much more!

When Persona 3 Portable, a similar handheld reimagining of an already terrific RPG, was released in 2010, it went down as the second-best reviewed game on the PSP (according to gamerankings.com) EVER. We figure it stands to reason that Persona 4 Golden and all of its enhancements are going to be one heck of a reason to boot up (or pick up) your PS Vita.

More at Persona 4 Golden Coming to PS Vita This Fall“

The original Persona 4 (PS2) was actully released in Japan in July 2008, North America in December 2008, and Europe in March 2009. BUt don’t you really want to experience “Games of the Year Award of Excellence” in the Japan Game Awards 2009 again?

The Pinball Arcade is, as you might have very well guessed from its title, a pinball video game. But what makes this game to be truly appreciated is the fact that it comes with state of the art graphics which result in real-life pinball tables on the gaming console.

The game has been developed by Far Sight Studios and it is being published by Crave Entertainment, which has already released numerous well received pinball games such as the Pinball Hall Of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection.

Get A Short Idea About Pinball Arcade

Pinball Arcade is in fact a simulated collection of existing pinball tables and is licensed by: Gottlieb, Williams, Bally and Stern Pinball. The first two companies are well known in the domain, while the latter are new comers which have had high public acceptance and positive response.

At the release date the game features the 6 following tables:

Black Hole from Gottlieb

Bride of Pinbot from Williams

Mediaval Madness from Williams

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! from Stern

Tales of the Arabian Nights by Williams

Theater of Magic by Bally Midway

Besides these, it has been said to the public that Pinball Arcade will come with further updates after release. Currently, the first updates which are scheduled to appear within the first six months from the release include: Monster Bash and Attack from Mars.

The games on the Pinball Arcade follow the principles and graphics from the original games. The graphics are truly eye catching as each board comes with a high level of detail. A plus is the fact that the player will have the opportunity to see these graphics from a close angle. The game offers 3 static camera options which allow you track the ball.

Pinball Arcade offers, besides stunning graphics, the sound and light effects which usually accompany any arcade table and which offer the player a more realistic feeling.

Besides the actual games, the player will have the opportunity to discover, among the menus information about the tables, which is fun and entertaining to read, especially for pinball fans, but which can be a bit nerve wracking in terms of game space and menu browsing.

The Pinball Arcade is definitely a game that will be enjoyed by both fans and new players as it captivates through graphics, sound, lights and game experience.

Previously, Dragon Crown has been announced to be released in the spring of 2012 for PS Vita and PS3. It was to be developed by Vanillaware and published by UTV Ignition Entertainment. But during the past month the first rumors regarding a possible cancelation have surfaced. In fact, even major retailers such as Amazon began to cancel the preorders for the game.

Later news about the game from developing artists said that the game was in fact in development. Now it seems that publishing rights for the game have shifted to Atlus. The new Dragon Crown game that is being developed under the Atlus publishing will be released in 2013, most likely in spring.

A Couple Of Spoilers Regarding Dragon Crown

Dragon Crown is a 2D action RPG video game which is currently being developed for PS Vita and PS3 platforms. The game is, in concept, a spiritual successor to the Princess Crown Atlus game, with many game aspects based on the concepts of the Norse Mythology. The players will need to seek a legendary treasure known as the Dragon Crown, with the use of their character’s skills.

Dragon Crown is an action role playing game which focuses on the use of traditional side scrolling characters which engage in different fighting scenes. Players can choose between six types of characters: Amazon, Dwarf, Elf, Fighter, Sorcerers and Wizard. The character will need to travel through different environments and defeat enemies with the use of different attacks and magic spells. Each character is characterized by their own strength and weaknesses in terms of: attack power, magic spells, movement speed and special attacks. The character’s movement through the game and development are strictly dependant on the player.

During the game, the player may discover different equipment and weapons that will aid their characters in their quests. These items will also increase different aspects of the character’s features such as battle strength, for example.

The Dragon Crown game development can vary greatly as it depends on the decisions the player makes. The character might have the opportunity to steal different items, to engage or flea from different combats and so forth.

Dragon Crown comes with a single player mode and an online mode on the Play Station Network of up to four players. An interesting feature that the game will have in the online mode is that, when a player dies in the online game, another player has the possibility of gathering their bones to trade to a special merchant who can bring the character back as an AI-controlled partner.

Unfortunately, we will not get our hands on Dragon Crown too soon, but even so, we feverishly wait for an actual release date.

Next Hatsune Miku: Project Diva is the new rhythm game created by Sega and Crypton Future Media for PS Vita which will enter the market in 2012. This game is the fifth of the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series and focuses, as the other games of the series, on the use of Vocaloids to create songs. As a note, Vocaloids are in fact a cumulus of singing synthesizer software. Besides being developed for PS Vita, the game will also be available for PS3 platform, thus becoming the first game of the series that is available for numerous gaming platforms.

Get Some Facts About Next Hatsune Miku: Project Diva

Next Hatsune Miku: Project Diva is quite similar with its predecessor in many aspects, but it will come with differences as well, especially in terms of gaming controls.

The fifth installment Project Diva will follow the basic game play of the series with some additional changes. The most eye catching addition is the Star symbol to the present game symbols: the triangle, the cross, the arrows and the circle. This symbol, known as the Scratch move, will be accessed by the user by using the touch option.

Another difference which is noticeable is in the “Change Time” feature of the game, which can now be activated by the player and it occurs when the symbol at the lower left of the screen becomes a star.

An extra mechanical game-play difference in Next Hatsune Miku: Project Diva is the “Technical Zone”. This allows the player to connect combos within a time limit for additional points.

From the graphics point of view, the new Project Diva offers great improvement in comparison with the previous game series. We see such graphical pluses like: detailed hair and clothing movement, more detailed facial expressions and a more attractive art style. This comes in particular as the result of the new processing capabilities of the PS Vita gaming console.

So far, 6 Vocaloids have been confirmed: Hatsune Miku, MEIKO, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, KAITO and Megurine Luka. Also, the following song list has been made public: Cat Food performed by Hatsune Miku and Wold’s End Dancehall performed by Matsune Miku and Megurina Luka.

Even from this small amount of information, it is clear that Next Hatsune Miku: Project Diva will be a fascinating game that will attract any gamer and will dazzle rhythm game players.

The new PS Vita Firmware Update 1.66 offers all the features from the previously launched 1.65 firmware, with the removed hidden bug and PSP kernel exploit. In other words, with the new release Sony has begun to counterattack the new hacking scene.

What Should You Know About PS Vita Firmware Update 1.66?

The new PS Vita Firmware Update 1.66 is the first response from Sony against the hacking scene that has begun to rise regarding the new PS Vita games. Actually, the fact that Sony has begun to tighten its defense against hacking is not new news. The reason why Sony does not offer 3rd party support visible for PS Vita was an anti-hacking measure.

Besides the hacking response the new Firmware Update has removed the bug hidden in the previous 1.65 firmware version: the disabling of the Ad-Hoc support. Besides these two features the version is practically 1.65 version which was available to the public for an extremely short amount of time (a few hours), having been withdrawn due to the found bug.

The PS Vita Firmware Update 1.66 features are basically the features of the 1.65 firmware version. Here are the basic added features:

The user has now the capability of disabling notification alert messages which shows them that a friend has signed in, that he/she has received a new message and other similar activities. To access this feature and implement it you need to follow the following steps. Open the Settings menu and enter the Sound and Display submenu. Here, search for the Notification Alerts feature and check or uncheck it, as you desire. Notifications alerts will appear on the screen for five seconds and not three seconds as before.

A power saver setting has been added: ‘After 10 minutes’. To access this you need to go to the Power Save Settings Menu and enter the Auto Standby option.

New events from the LiveArea section will be indicated through the graphical design of an arrow.

The on-screen keyboard will be able to support the Caps Lock feature. To enable this feature you need to double click the shift key.

The new twist in strategy games that will soon arrive for PS vita is Orgarhythm. The game is being developed by Shenmue and Space Channel Part 2 under the command of lead programmer and technical director Tak Hirai. The game is scheduled for release this summer in Japan with no additional date for the International market. But due to the fact that Xseed games shares rights for Orgarhythm with Acquire, this means that there is a high possibility for a later release in the US.

Get Moving and Planning with Orgarhythm

Orgarhythm attracts attention with its inventive combination of music and strategy in gameplay. This is truly an innovative approach as the gameplay focuses on blending the music and strategy genres in a single game. This means that players will be able to experience a truly new and unique game and gaming experience.

The music in Orgarhythm will be mainly based on ancient music from different cultures around the globe. This means that you will be able to experience different genres of music and broaden your cultural knowledge and awareness and you will understand some aspects about the global community. The trailer showed that the music was mainly tribal music with additional rock and heavy beats. Plus, if you preorder, it seems that you will get a code for a downloadable bonus track.

The game comes with two distinctive playing modes: a cooperative playing mode and a competitive playing mode. Thus, players will be able to experience and enjoy two antagonistic ways of playing and choose the one with which they feel most comfortable with. Also, this means that the game is suitable for a large array player types and that even inexperienced players will be able to have an advantage in some gaming circumstances.

As for the gameplay, it seems that the player will take role of the deity that has under its control the 3 tribes: water tribe, fire tribe and earth tribe. The player will need to govern the tribes to defeat their enemies through rhythmical interaction. In other words the player will no longer need to follow the beat of the Orgarhythm but instead the player has to follow the overall background music as well as implement different strategies.
