“Show me the way” is the simple prayer I use when my next step is unclear. I love how direct and to the point it is. Spirit knows me and my heart, more than I know myself. As a human being I can easily get caught up in the daily challenges. Seeing the bigger picture of my life takes a bird’s eye view from the higher realms. That is where this prayer “Show me the way” comes in.

Prayer is talking to God. Using my own words in prayer feels more personal to me. Having a personal relationship with Source is my intention on my spiritual path. No need to complicate my communication with the Divine. That’s what I love about this prayer “Show me the way.” It is real easy and to the point. There is no misunderstanding what I am asking for.

It helps to be humble in our conversations with God. There is no need to be demanding. Just the simple request, “Show me the way” will suffice. Being humble means that we are willing to admit that we do not know, that we are powerless. That is why we are turning to Spirit because we need help. Can’t do this journey alone. Feel the peace when you say “Show me the way.”

“Show me the way” can be an opening to our intentions. “Show me the way that I may know my life’s purpose.” Also “Show me the way that I may be a better mother, father, teacher, student, friend, artist, therapist, doctor or spiritual counselor.” Setting our intentions is powerful in our conversations with the Divine, as energy follows our awareness.

As you pray “Show me the way” daily, it is important to pay attention to your intuition. The still small voice within is the voice of Spirit guiding us. Messages can come in our dreams, upon awakening, in the shower. It can be a strong feeling to do something or to call someone. Be aware of what or who shows up in your life. Divine answers can also come through certain experiences as well. Being grateful to God when we are shown the way, is how we give back to the Divine.

Meditation is a powerful spiritual practice, the first step on our path to conscious awareness of our divine self. By using simple techniques we can learn to let of our stressors, fear and doubt. With daily practice we achieve inner balance, peace and the ability to be in the moment. Our intuition is naturally enhanced where we can rely on our inner wisdom through meditation.

One meditation technique is to focus our mind on our breath. When we get distracted by other thoughts, simply bring the mind back to the breath, again and again. Don’t be concerned by how many times the mind gets distracted. Just keep bringing the mind back to the breath gently without judgement. This is the practice. It is work. We are not failing when the mind gets focused on other things. That is what the mind does. Accept that and keep going by focusing the mind on the breath, again and again in our meditation practice.

With a daily meditation practice we are no longer run by our “monkey mind.” Our thoughts are not in control, distracting us. We are able to experience our own energy and the presence of Spirit within. We are spirit in physical form, having a human experience. Our awareness expands. We have more access to our innate gifts and abilities by practicing meditation regularly.

The natural result of a regular meditation practice is the expansion of our intuition. Our sixth sense is a gift available to us all. When the “monkey mind” is in charge we lose touch with that innate gift of knowing. Meditation supports our listening to the inner voice by focusing on the breath, instead of the loud voice of the mind. In every moment we must choose who is the master, the “monkey mind” or the voice of Spirit within. Our intuition is in alignment with Source who always guides us to what is best for us. Trust that truth!

What do we want in our heart of hearts? For me it is simply peace. It’s an inside job for sure. Our inner state of being determines what we magnetize in the world. If we feel anxiety, anger, pain, frustration or depressed then our work is cut out for ourselves. There are so many ways to excavate and clear out our stuck energies such as therapy, group support, body work, yoga, Reiki Healing, acupuncture, and writing to name a few ways to inner peace.

Spiritual Practice is important such as prayer, meditation, affirmations. Taking time ideally in the morning to talk to the Divine through prayer is powerful and grounding. Listening to Higher Power by meditating for 15 or more minutes helps us to still the mind and access our connection to God. What a wonderful way to start the day! Affirmations are powerful statements of truth that encourage us to keep the focus on what we want. “I am healthy, balanced and healed” affirms our intentions. Focusing on what we are co-creating with Source, peace, assists us in moving forward instead of focusing on what we don’t want.

Standing at the doorway of our mind, observing our thoughts helps us to catch the limiting thoughts. The observer is our own Higher Self. Then immediately switching our thoughts to what we want supports us further in manifesting our highest good. Energy follows awareness. What we focus on expands. So let’s focus on the good we are committed to creating in our lives, such as peace, one thought at a time!

Writing is another way to get in touch with our inner self. There are so many ways to write such as using a prompt as a topic. Writing “morning pages” to release the stuck thoughts as Julia Cameron suggests in her book “The Artist’s Way” is very cleansing. What still amazes me as I write is how thoughts, feelings and memories come to the surface to be expressed, processed and released. How freeing writing is as a tool in our jewel box, as I like to call my tool box, to inner peace.

There is no magic potion or overnight path to inner peace. It is a process which takes commitment, consistency, patience and focus. It is work for sure that is very worthwhile. The natural result of our spiritual practice of prayer, meditation, affirmations, intentions using jewels in our tool box such as writing will result in inner peace. Then we begin to manifest outer peace in our lives. Do the work and allow the result to flow through us. We then energetically join others whose intention is peace and it expands. World peace is attainable when we begin with ourselves. Together let peace begin with me, each of us.

Surrender to Higher Power is the pathway and the foundation of our spiritual path. As a spirit being having a human experience it is easy to say and not always easy to do. As a healer, an empath, a sensitive, an intuitive, a fixer and a problem solver, my go to button is to come up with really good solutions. Then I remember with a sigh, to let go and let God.

It is not a weakness to surrender to Higher Power. It is not an admission of defeat to ask for help from the Divine. Actually I have experienced it as an act of strength and an act of self love. To be strong does not mean doing it all myself. When I love myself I am open to receiving help. And the best help is from unlimited Higher Power.

We are co-Creators with Source. When we call upon Spirit for help we are accessing all the expansive benevolent help that there is available. In a way it is an adventure when we let go and let God. Be in the adventure and see how the help comes. The key is to be in receiving mode and to stay open. Paying attention to our intuition is very helpful as well for that is how the Divine communicates with us, especially after a request.

So I encourage you and myself to surrender to Higher Power. Let the burdens be lifted off our shoulders. The doorway opens to new possibilities as well as to healing ourselves. Let the request be simple like “show me the way.” The rest is in Higher Power’s hands. Just keep your heart, mind and eyes open to receiving. All is well!

This simple message of PEACE came to me this morning. The world is in chaos and we may be heading for yet another war. What do I want? What do you want? I want PEACE!

Then the awareness came that if I focus on what I do NOT want I will get more of what I do Not want. If I focus on what I DO want then I will get more of that – PEACE. Very simple, isn’t it? Energy follows awareness. What we focus on we get more of.

So I remind all of you as I am reminded by Higher Power to focus on what we want to co-Create in this world. This very moment we have a choice in what we want to intend in our life and in the world. What better way to contribute to our lives, the lives of all people and Mother Earth than to co-Create PEACE!

Keep it simple. No need to complicate this opportunity for each of us to make PEACE happen together. Don’t try to figure it out. Simply use thoughts, prayers and intentions for the highest and best for all of us on planet earth. I really cannot think of a higher calling than PEACE!!!

When we have spiritual support in our life we have a built in network of resources to help us along the way. When the chips are down we can share our weaknesses and challenges in life with a  true friend. There is no judgement. Instead we have a spiritual friend who listens to us as we share our pain. It is very healing. Receiving encouragement and positive feedback is such a gift.

Spiritual support is such an important resource to have while we walk our path. Life is challenging on this planet. With loving friends who have our back we know that we are not alone in the world.

It’s wonderful to share good news with our spiritual support system as well. Our joy increases a hundred-fold when we do. Hugs, pats on the back, positive words to cheer us on during times of celebration warm the heart.

Through my Spirit Guidance Readings, also known as Intuitive Readings, I serve as a spiritual support for those who come to me for guidance. New Beginnings – just moved back to NY and I am excited! We are back in our beautiful house in the Catskill Mountains near Woodstock. It is country living at it’s best. Life is simpler here, yet we have the NYC influence from the artists, retail store owners, tourists and city transplants all around us.

You can find me the 1st Tuesday of the month, starting May 1st from 11 – 6 PM, doing Reiki Healing sessions at Mirabai of Woodstock http://www.mirabai.com/at 23 Mill Hill Road on the main street in town. For the rest of the month on Tuesdays I will be available for Spirit Guidance Readings based on your questions also at Mirabai of Woodstock. On Saturdays the Flea Market attracts the locals and tourists alike with their abundant bounty. Craft items, clothing, food, jewelry, furniture and more. The flea market is behind Bread Alone.

While on Sundays at 4 PM on the Green in the center of town come join the Drum Circle. There you will find children of all ages from tots to folks in their 80’s. I love the feeling of community as we beat on the drum in unison.

The sun is shining and I am happy to be back in our beautiful home in the Catskill Mountains. Maureen and her Magic Mystic Tour is available for Spirit Guidance Readings in person or via phone, Reiki Healing, Reiki Classes, Self Love Workshops, Meditation Groups, Practice the Spiritual Practices Classes.
