&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;ecent research with the Memory Compensation Questionnaire (MCQ) has  examined changes, functions, and correlates of compensatory strategy use  in older adults. The twofold aim of this study was to test (a) the  hypothesized structure of the MCQ and (b) structural equivalence across  age, gender, and time. The 7-scale MCQ was designed to measure 5  compensatory mechanisms and 2 general aspects of compensatory awareness.  The authors assembled a 3-wave (6-year) sample (N=521; age=55-85 years)  from the Victoria Longitudinal Study. The results of structural  equation modeling supported (a) the a priori structure of the MCQ and  (b) the inference of measurement invariance across the 3 dimensions. The item analysis includes proportion, point biserial, and biserial statistics for all response options. Reliability coefficients include Cronbach's alpha, Guttman's lambda, the Feldt-Gilmer Coefficient, the Feldt-Brennan coefficient, decision consistency indices, the conditional standard error of measurement, and reliability if item deleted. The DIF analysis is based on nonparametric item characteristic curves and the Mantel-Haenszel procedure. DIF effect sizes and ETS DIF classifications are included in the output. Confirmatory factor analysis is limited to the common factor model for congeneric, tau-equivalent, and parallel measures. This film is a good example of how it "takes a village to raise a child," or, in this case, to turn a bright, nice kid into a hardened, jaded young man. My students did not enjoy this film - "too slow," "too much time with no dialogue," etc. I chock it up to this generation's expectations of "wow" factors through action and CGI. They had the same reaction to the classic Kurosawa's Rashomon. The portrayal of mixed anxiety and depression (delayed onset PTSD?) is terrific. Unfortunately, the movie also demonstrates how not to be an ethical psychiatrist (can you count the number of ways that he violates confidentiality?), but he still is effective (if you believe in the therapeutic miracle of sudden insight). The best character in the movie is the loyal goon, Jelly.  He was great. It does contain some short footage which many may find difficult to watch, but is in keeping with the presentation of psychosis. I found that looking away during these moments did not alter my appreciation of the film. This is one of those odd, independent films which one must "figure out" as it goes along. High on symbolism - be sure to notice the mother's clothing in relation to the setting around her. I find that this film demonstrates beautifully the communication deficits often present in these families - the mother character suggests the now disproved "schizophrenogenic mother" theory, or may be consistent with a strong genetic component to schizophrenia.  The depiction of perceptual illusions/hallucinations is very well done. A short film, but one which truly gives a sense of the world view and experiences of a schizophrenic. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;Crash&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;Genre:  Drama    Year:  2004    Rating:  R&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;Actors:  Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Ludacris&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;Topics:  Social, Moral Development, Marital/Family Dynamics&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;Academy Award winner for Best Picture. Marilyn Monroe plays a young girl hired for the first time to babysit a child at a hotel, as recommended by her uncle, the elevator operator.  As the movie progresses, we learn that she was recently released from a mental institution, "almost cured," almost being the operative word.  I enjoyed the movie  and Monroe's performance. Such problems  are believed to be common with all cultures. That’s the reason that the  testing industry claims it free from all cultural influences.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;The  culture fair is a high speed IQ test. The full scale is to be resolved  in less than one hour.
