Mass Effect 3 Ending

2012-06-01T14:30:00.001-07:00

Finally done with exams, so I'll post on what I've been most focused on lately. Mass Effect 3.

Here's my take on the ME3 ending.

Diablo III Open Beta trial

I guess some people would be interested in this. Open Beta free to play from Friday noon till Monday.

Tribes: Ascend

2012-04-14T20:38:00.001-07:00

Tribes: Ascend is an awesome FPS with unique mechanics and gameplay. There's really no describing it in just words. I have been watching Totalbiscuit play it for so long on Youtube, and I have no idea why it took me so long to get into it. Anyway, my referral link is below; it is completely free to play and very very worth giving a try.

Lack of activity

2012-04-14T20:37:00.002-07:00

No, I have not given up on this blog. Just some busy work keeping me from consistently posting. I have two posts in the works for "You should be watching: CLANNAD+Afterstory" and "Breaking Bad." Hopefully, I can finish them up soon.

PS. Also, Clannad is a little troublesome seeing as I can't bring myself to watch through Afterstory without refilling my tear ducts.

Short Break

2012-03-04T22:35:00.001-08:00

I am going to take a short hiatus for a few weeks for exams. Technically, there's still 2 more weeks until the hellish stress week that is block exams, but I'm in some trouble with one of the classes that I want to pull up so I'm not as stressed for the final final block.

Chihayafuru

2012-02-28T20:43:00.000-08:00

Oh yeah, today was Taichi Tuesdays. Chihayafuru is an anime about high school students playing Karuta. Karuta is basically a speed card matching game where the matching cards are from 100 poems that all have 2 verses. When the first verse is read, you slap the card with the second verse. The game is generally played by elementary students to help them learn the cultural 100 poems.

You Should Be Watching: Zegapain

I'm stealing the catchphrase from Funimation as a pre-title for series that I recommend watching.

Guilty Crown 18

2012-02-23T22:55:00.003-08:00

Cool guys don't look at explosions

Within the first 2 minutes, Gai completely shows up Shu in how to be an emo, people-using, anti-hero bad-ass. Then, after the OP, within the next 3 minutes, he takes over the world by commandeering 256 Leukocyte satellite weapons. THAT, my friends, is how you f-ing come back to life in style!

Mahou Sensei Negima! - Anime Final

2012-02-22T22:26:00.001-08:00

The announcement for this movie was soooo long ago that I pretty much forgot about it until it popped up by UTW and Commie today. This time I think I will do the full review that this adaptation deserves instead of just half-assed comments like I do for episodic shows.

Er...I won't really review this. Just bask in the irony of the above image...

How I Met Your Mother S07 E17

2012-02-21T20:33:00.000-08:00

This episode pretty much marks the end of the longest arc in How I Met Your Mother.

High School DxD 07

2012-02-21T01:22:00.003-08:00

Highschool DxD is definitely the most NSFW anime for this season. It does not hide the nipples with half-assed censoring like other fan service series hoping to milk the DVD sales.

Aquarion EVOL 08, Shakugan no Shana F 19

2012-02-20T23:52:00.001-08:00

The most risque episode of Aquarion EVOL so far definitely. The AmataXMikonoXZessica triangle is pretty much officially set in stone if it was not previously. At least Zessica is definitely locked into the Amata route.

Catherine (not a review)

2012-02-18T17:26:00.000-08:00

I've heard so many great things about this game, so I finally bought it for Xbox360 when it went on sale on Amazon. The thing about me is that I am super super crazily Asian-ly cheap, so I pretty much only buy video games months after their release or during timely sales when the price has dropped to something I can swallow. So! Funny story about the lengths I went through for saving some money on this purchase.

Guilty Crown 17, LE:Ginyoku no Fam 16+17, InuXBoku SS 06

2012-02-17T14:08:00.000-08:00

Marathon-ed these episodes late last night. The first two had me face-palming. The last two were the ones I actually really enjoyed, which says loads about the first two as LE:GnF17 was a recap episode...

Really long post after the jump:

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos

2012-02-16T00:19:00.000-08:00

It's midnight now, so naturally I started watching this new epic chapter in the FMA legend while waiting for my hair to dry before going to sleep. I'm currently still just 10 minutes in, but I already enraptured by this fresh revisit to the nostalgic FMA universe. There has already been two battle sequences which is enough to say that the animation is top notch. Our favorite metal duo, new unexplored country, mysterious new alchemy techniques...I can only forgo sleep to continue watching. Will continue to write this review after I finish watching...

How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, and Person of Interest

2012-02-15T22:12:00.000-08:00

Second day of blogging and I already intend to tweak my ideas of what to review. I guess I could add "TV" to my description line up top, but my laziness disagrees. I have been catching up on the TV I missed last week during exam times. The only ones I follow consistently are list above: How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, and Person of Interest.

Hajime!

2012-02-14T11:42:00.000-08:00

Greetings. Ptolemaios here.

I figure actually kick off this blog thing. I guess it will be good practice for that illusory book I planned on writing ever since I was a depressed teenager whom felt that every epiphany about life was novel and unknown. I decided to follow in the steps of my favorite anime blog, Random Curiosity, and try to critically review different media that I happen to watch recently. I don't know if I'll be timely or scheduled about this, but let's just see how this goes. Topics may include any current anime I'm following, old classics I may be re-watching, movie reviews, and possibly game reviews. I may not be objective or eloquent or even sensible, but I'll try to stay honest in my opinions.

The most recent media I've consumed:

Rinne no Lagrange
Ano Natsu de Matteru
Three Musketeers
Gears of War 3

This is not the full extent of my procrastination, but just a splattering of the last few days. Reviews coming soon.
