England batter Jason Roy has joined his side Quetta Gladiators before their high-voltage match against Lahore Qalandars in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) seventh edition 2022 at National Stadium Karachi in order to keep Quetta Gladiators in contention for the playoffs.

The Gladiators are currently in fifth place in the points standings, having lost three games in the competition thus far. They only managed to win once, against the struggling Karachi Kings.

The Quetta Gladiators announced Roy’s availability on social media as the swashbuckling batter took part in the training session.

The addition of Jason Roy to Quetta’s team will surely benefit the entire locker room. The English batsman may get his team off to a fast start and lay the foundation for the middle-order batters to tee off in the last few overs.

Roy recently participated in a series against the West Indies, and despite some inconsistent performances, he finished the series strongly. After scoring six in the first T20I of the series, he struck a fantastic 45. In the third T20I, he scored 19 runs and then smashed a half-century in the fourth.

At National Stadium Karachi, Islamabad United won the toss and chose to bat first against Karachi Kings in the 14th match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) seventh edition 2022.

So far, both teams have won 16 games, with Karachi Kings winning six and Islamabad United 10.

Shadab Khan will lead Islamabad United, while Babar Azam will lead Karachi Kings.

Both teams will meet for the first time in the PSL 2022 season. This will be the fourth match for Islamabad United.

In the third match, they defeated Quetta Gladiators by 43 runs. Islamabad United scored 229 runs after losing the toss and losing four wickets.

Colin Munro scored 72, Azam Khan 65, and Paul Stirling 58 runs. The Quetta Gladiators were bowled out for a score of 186 runs after failing to chase down the target.

Shoaib Malik and the Peshawar Zalmi bowlers worked together to assist Peshawar Zalmi to defeat Karachi Kings by nine runs in match number 11 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) points table.

After Babar Azam chose to bowl first against Peshawar, the Zalmi set a 174-run goal for the Kings.

Babar Azam, the captain of the Kings, batted brilliantly, scoring 90 runs off 63 balls with 12 fours and one six.

A formidable Peshawar Zalmi bowling attack prevented any other hitter from scoring more than 35 runs.

Mohammad Umar grabbed three wickets, with Shoaib Malik, Hussain Malik, and Usman Qadir each taking one.

Zalmi seemed destined to record a massive total on the powerplay early on, but the run rate slowed after Umaid Asif removed the threatening Hazratullah Zazai in the sixth over.

Haider Ali and Shoaib Malik appeared to be on their way to capitalizing on the openers’ start, but Aamir Yamin dismissed Ali to put a dent in Peshawar’s batting.

With seven overs remaining in the innings, Zalmi was 103/3 when Ali’s wicket went.

Zalmi was able to recover thanks to a 59-run combination between Malik and Australian Ben Cutting. Cutting was dismissed in the penultimate over of the Zalmi innings by Umaid Asif, who broke the partnership for the second time. Malik’s 52 from 28 helped Peshawar finish their innings with a score of 173/4.

Match Preview

They were superb against Quetta Gladiators in their previous match, scoring the highest total in the tournament thus far. They were also fantastic with the bat, but they’ll be seeking to enhance their bowling at the finish of the innings.

Lahore has been particularly noteworthy. Their batting has connected, with Fakhar Zaman in fine form, and their world-class bowling arsenal has been unstoppable thus far in the tournament. Captain Shaheen Afridi has had a great start to his captaincy career, and he’ll be looking for his team to keep up the good work. In the field, they don’t appear to be that impressive.

Fakhar Zaman has played three innings in the Pakistan Super League’s seventh edition, smashing big smashes at will. The government has taken many initiatives to address security issues in preparation for the second round of PSL 2022, which will take place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from February 10 to 27.

The gas connections in the local hotels around the Gaddafi Stadium would be suspended throughout the matches and players’ movements, according to the details. After biometric authentication, security officials will allow fans to enter the stadium.

During the matches, two of Lahore’s premier hospitals, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Lahore General Hospital, will collaborate to set up a 35-bed temporary hospital outside the Gaddafi Stadium.

Security agencies will conduct thorough checks of general bus stops, parking lots, gas stations, and public transportation buses during the matches, according to the details. The Pakistan Army, Rangers, and other security agencies will provide complete security for the players during the matches.

The security forces will also maintain impenetrable protection in and around the Gaddafi Stadium, as well as in local hotels and airports. After receiving permission from security officials, all international players and another team member will leave the hotel.
