Please listen to this pod cast by Max Lucado explaining exactly what I'm trying to tell everyone. He explains everything all at once. Please be patient, it might take a minute or two to download but its worth the wait.
I thought the most interesting part about the pod cast was that he said everything I wanted to hear. He explained exactly everything I've been talking about in all my blogs. It made me really happy. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did! :)

Surveying For Public Prayer

I made a little survey, and made a chart of the results, for at least 20 kids of every grade level to get a little idea of what people think about Praying in Schools. I was shocked, but glad to see that nobody said yes. I didnt get one person saying that praying in school is wrong. So...that makes me wonder, why is it so bad to pray in school or have a prayer club, when no one thinks it's wrong? I think the government and principals in public schools should re-think this idea of not being able to have prayer clubs, or anything like that. I think everyone would be surprised of what prayer can do, if only they would let prayer clubs be ok in schools.

For many years the government has separated church from state or even country, for that matter. The First amendment was a total failure, because it says we can have prayer, but then for the longest time now, we haven't been able to pray in our own schools. I don't think it should be as big as a problem as people make it out to be. The one who is doing the praying isn't bugging anyone, they are by themselves so they can be in private and talk to God without any interruptions. The Bible even says in I Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." I love that verse because I'm a 100% behind it! And I believe every word it says. I think it is the coolest thing ever to see little kids or even teens going on there lunch break or recess and finding a quite little place to pray; either by themselves or with their friends. I don't see why parents, teachers, or the government has a problem with praying in public. We are not hurting anyone.

Public prayer has many ups and downs with every decision made. Today, in our public schools there is absolutely no prayer in, or near the school. In Washington, there were twelve students at Heritage High School wanting to make a prayer club, before, during, and after school. Administrators would not allow the students to meet in a private room, so they decided to meet at the cafeteria in the morning to pray. Another student at the high school, who claims to be a satanist, rated out on the twelve Christian students to the vice principal. The vice principal ended up telling the Christian students that they could not pray in the cafeteria and would need to take it outside. The Christian students disagreed and refused to move, and were suspended for 3-10 days. Some say, that the Christian students constitutional rights were violated. This makes me made because kids should have the right to pray, if they're not bugging anyone. I wish I could go to the vice principal and ask him, "Why?". I would love to know because there is no reason for a group of Christian students wanting to pray before school and during lunch, to not be allowed; because they're not hurting anyone and the group would be in a little area so they wouldn't bug anyone. I think the principal at his school should take a look at Stuyvesant High School because they ended up letting a group of Christian kids pray and actually allow a Christian Group (club).
