For a while I've been thinking about changing platform - it stays in the "family", it will be the Typepad-platform which wins.

With inspiration from close friends I've been able to fix a new layout.

The main reason why moving is about showing what can be done with a standardized platform, is about communicating that you can twist the layout as you wish.

But okay - blogging isn't always about layout - but it sometimes help. the most important thing is off course still about the content.

2 years ago I introduced a very good friend to what blogging is all about. At least I thought so by the time.

We made a vey quick weblog based om Movable Type. My knowledge was at that time very limited. I didn't now very much about Movable Type.

In the meantime I experimented with Typepad - its almost the same thing - but very easy to use, and with good friends I now managed a nice frontend-implementation....

The other side of the story is the organisational implementation - very interesting. If you want to know more about how we did it, how far we got by now, and what we are planning for the furture, please let me know, and I'll tell you.

BTW it's an internal weblog - purpose is discussing Appreciative Inquiry as an HR-tool. Very interesting, indeed!!

Blogs Still Marginal: Does It Matter if It's a "Blog"?

E-marketer reports:

"A new poll conducted by CNN, USA Today and Gallup uncovers some surprising data about blog readership in the US.

Few US adults are aware of blogs — just 7% say they are "very familiar" with them, compared to 56% who say they are "not at all familiar." Similarly, few read blogs regularly. In all age groups, most people say they never read blogs, although readership is higher among younger people."

Surprising data? Not really ...

Why do we suppose that most actually care they're reading a "blog"? Such distinctions might be important in internet publishing circles, but not really for most internet users, who just want to get the information they're after. To them it doesn't matter whether it's a "blog" or a "portal" or a "news site" or whatever ...

In a way, "blog" is just a term. I'm suspecting that most people reading blogs don't actually know the term, or even care about it. Related to this discussion, can we even pinpoint what the term "blog" really means?

Over the last 12 months I’ve been preaching blogging all over. As a Master student I coincidentally had a shot presentation on what blogging was all about – is all about - with the result that most of the class blogged their way through the rest of the semester. As part of my master-thesis I got the possibility to make some in-depth analyses on how, when and where weblogs can be used in a corporate setting. Over the last months I’ve been running several workshops, speeches and a few technical implementations – and now I reached a conclusion. I’ll start a network of competences helping me explore the full potential of blogging practice.

Do I have to say that I see the technical only as the top of the iceberg?

As mentioned in earlier posts I feel a energy, a movement, like in the early internet era. But will the same business models apply in todays world?

I'm in the search for best breed competences and similar networks/companies :-)....something for you?

I know a couple already.....Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Belgium, France – I’ll contact you all in a week, again :-)

I’m proud to present – a brand new blog. It’s about Design and Innovation and everything in between.

Together with 2 highly skilled friends who share the same passion, who sees the same potential as I do, I’ve managed to create this new weblog.

We hope for many readers, we hope for many writers. Our goal is definitely two-fold: 1. Attract best of breed writers helping us building a new community of practice in the specific area of Design and Innovation. 2. Creating a medium where readers can find the best information possible about the topic.

Few of you already contacted me offering your help. Thank you very much for that. MUCH appreciated. I’ll mail you over the next week making sure that we can arrange something.

To the rest of you – please let me now if you want to join our team or have any links of interest to share. Would be niiice..;-)

CPH127 – An explanation.

Together with close friends I’m doing a weblog about Design and Innovation – there are still minor changes to be done…..launch in a week or so. We named the blog CPH127. I tried to explain the name……

You sure know the feeling of excitement when waiting in the airport. Waiting for the next flight, waiting for great holidays, longdrinks at the pool, long walks at the beach or maybe adventure climbing in the mountains. Hello world…

And what great people you will meet. New relationships, maybe everlasting friendships? You’ll experience that other people has other opinions, other perspectives on things that matters in your daily life, and you’ll feel happy in the very moment because you realise. Sometimes you’ll learn week’s or even years later.

We’ve chosen the airport metaphor because of that very fact. “Travel is living” as the Hans Christian Andersen once wrote. And living is understanding.

Coming home from a great travel, a great holyday is also about different things than the pictures in you camera. It’s also about gathering new information, new knowledge and creating a higher understanding.

With CPH127 we try to reach out in the world for new relations, sources, knowledge and perspective. Please join us.

BTW – CPH is the code for Copenhagen Airport, we live in Copenhagen, Denmark. 127 is the number of destinations out of Copenhagen Airport.

What do you think - does it make sense?

3 Months ago I was heavy blogging, creating and maintaining relationships around the globe – in a holy mission. Somehow.

I still am, nothing has happened in that sense.

What has happened is that I’ve decided on a goal for my self which merely is about creating new possilities for my self than it’s about showing my beautiful brain. Don’t get me wrong here – I love the discussions about what corporate/business weblogging is all about, but what real value is there in your writing when not proving it – at least for your self?

So I decided on to show to others that blogging really can make a difference….....and yes, some projects are on the move.......
