How to earn extra cash online? Well, there are several opportunities available online if you’re serious about making money, but earning extra cash online does not come overnight thus you still need to devote time to earn money. The opportunities that I explore to make money online are:

1) Adsense

Adsense is the main source of my earnings online. When I started implementing adsense on my blog three years ago I was just only making an average of $1 a month for six months, it’s not that much for all the work that I have done, but that does not frustrate me instead it inspired me to work harder to increase my earnings until I started to reap all the work that I have done and my adsense income gradually increase, this time my adsense income averages $20 a day and it keeps on increasing.

2) Kontera

Kontera is almost same as adsense the difference is that Kontera uses contextual advertisement. 3) Amazon associates

My Highest Adsense Income Ever for a Day

I had a habit of checking my adsense income every morning before going to work to update me on the result that I have done when I made changes my blog. Every time I login to my adsense account I always see the earnings to be the same as always, $2 overnight, However just yesterday I was surprise I did not expect that the changes I’ve made has a huge impact on my adsense earnings. I made some changes on the appearance of my blog including my adsense ad block and the location of the ads jus the other day aside from the changes I have made when I start earnings an average of $11 overnight

Now I am on the process of experimenting if the changes that I have made are really the cause of my highest adsense earning to date. Below is the screen shot of my highest adsense income ever in just overnight.

I can't believe my adsense income increase for just overnight.I’ve been blogging for two years now and my adsense income never reaches an average of $11 a day consecutively for seven days, it gets down a little but it never gets down beyond $8 dollars a day. Since the start of my blogging, it took me three months before my blog started to earn some real cash online. At first my CPC only cost 0.1 a click but slowly getting higher, and it took me another four months to get pass the $100 adsense payout limit.

From that month and beyond I consistently reach the google adsense payout limit, I am happy for what my blog was earning, however I want to earn more so I tried to experiment.

I tried different ad setup using different ad block, I started using the 336x280 ad block because most adsense tips that I read points out to this ad block as the one that generate the highest click through rate (CTR), true enough because of what I experience on my blog. I served three ad blocks on my blog and all is embedded on the article I posted.

I also tried different location on my blog to determine what location can generate the highest click trough rate but my adsense income remains the same and instead of going higher it slowly goes down until the time where it took me two months to reach the adsense payout limit.

Then it came to my mind to try another ad location and another type of ad block, and to surprise it increase adsense earnings and click trough rate of my blog for just overnight. Yes you read it right, just overnight my income has risen from an average of $3 a day to an average of $11 a day. Below is the snap shot of my adsense earnings for the last 7 days:

What modification affects the increase of my adsense income? Well the only thing I did is to choose the right ad block and position it on the location where it can display the ad that is related to my post and it works my blog adsense income increase. How to Post HTML Tag on Your Blog

While doing a tutorial article, I came across my article paragraph that is necessary to have an HTML code to better explain the template hack that I am discussing. When I finished writing the article and post it on my blog, the HTML code embedded on the article won’t show as literally an HTML code but rather it was read as code that included on my blog template. I am sure some of you also encountered this kind of problem on your blog post. However, there is a simple solution to the problem of posting HTML code on your blog which I also implemented.

The first thing to do is to convert the HTML code that you want to post, I use eblogtemplates ad code converter when converting the code.
Once the code was converted you can now copy and paste the code on your post, the code that will appear on your blog post will appear as literally an HTML code.

When you are using blogger platform, the default setting for the label is that the count of post of every label was included on the display. However, this can be eliminated by implementing a simple tweak on your template.

How to remove label count on blog

1) Open your template by going to edit html, then check the expand widget box to reveal your entire template html code.
2) Before you implement this tweak, download first your template for backup just in case you want to bring back your old template when something goes wrong.
3) Search for the following code:

Answerbag, same with the yahoo answers, the purpose is to answer or ask questions for anything. Sign up on this site and answer questions that are related to your blog and then provide a link that pointed out to one of your post that can answer the questions.

Forums are also one way of promoting your site. Get involve in discussion that is related to your blog, forums can provide links to your site by including your site into the user signatures, once you post or reply to a topic this signatures will appear. You can also leave sources link pointing to your blog when discussing related topics.

How to Optimize Your Website Using Meta Tags

We all know that to earn money today on adsense, traffic is necessary and one source of traffic is by means of search engine like the google. How to optimize your website is one of the key steps in making your page to be up there on the first page of google search results. Several techniques are used by most bloggers just to gain edge against competitors on the topic they are discussing.

Optimizing your website to rank well on search engine results can be beneficial in the long run to increase your adsense click trough rate. There are several techniques on how to optimize your website and one of those is by adding Meta tags on your blog. Though there are some tags that have no use when implemented on the blog, but still it’s better to have Meta tags than having nothing at all.

There are two tags I’ve used to optimize my website. Those are the description and the keywords tag.

Meta Tag to add in your blog

1. Description Meta tag.

This is the description of your blog that will appear on the search results when someone searches for the topic related to your blog. This serves as the headlines of the blog that the visitors will see so that they have an idea on what your blog is all about when they saw the search results. Use the code below for making description tag. When making description of your blog include the main keyword you used on your blog.

Place the code above on the head after the <head> and before the </head>. The description of your blog should be within 150 characters including spaces to display the complete descriptions on search results.

2. Meta tag for keywords, though some says it is not necessary to use this tag your blog would better have this than without it. This tag contains all the keyword you have targeted on your page. Use the code below for keyword tag.

You can place the tag just after the description tag. The keyword that you use must be related to the content of your page.

So far those are the tags that I’ve used for my website, there are other Meta tags available for use on how to optimize your website but some are already obsolete because of the advancement of today’s search engine having them would not make any difference to your blog.

Now, when you create a blog, search first for the high paying adsense keywords that can generates you more adsense revenue then optimized your page based on that keywords. Used it on the description of your blog and on the keywords tag to gain advantage with other pages, but of course this is just a start of optimizing your page, you still need to build more link into your pages to make sure that you rank first on the google search engine results.

Everyone knows that ranking for high paying adsense keywords is one of determining factors for adsense success.

High paying adsense keywords are those words or phrase that a visitor is use to type into the search box when a visitor search for information using the search engine such as google, that can generates high adsense income, you can find those words using keyword tool with the likes of Google keyword tools and word tracker.

However, when you do a keyword research choose only the words or phrase in which can generates high cpc value with low competition. When I say low competition, this means that there is not much site that uses the same keyword as you targeted so that you can get rank well on search engine results, depending on how you optimized your site for that keyword.

How to research for high paying adsense keywords

Start by making a list of the words or phrase you want to look for, that is of course related to your blog or site. Put yourself in a visitor’s point of view. When you look for the information, what word or phrase you are going to type into the search engine box. List all of those words and phrases.

Search for the word that is in the list using keyword tool. When I do a keyword research I use the google keyword tool because most of the information that I need was already present on that keyword tool and the most important is it’s free.

Using the Google keyword tool

Open google keyword tool, then type in the word you have on list on the search box that says “Enter one keyword or phrase per line”, then hit the “Get keyword ideas” button. For the example, I search for adsense. Ensure to type in the correct pass code.

Once keyword search results was generated, you have an option of what data you are about to view. On the match type option select “exact” match, and then on the “Choose columns to display” select “Show Estimated Avg. CPC” to display the estimated value of the keyword on your screen.

This is what it looks like, we found out that the google adsense has average Global Monthly Search Volume of 301,000 and that a lot of visitors to capture. The estimated average adsense cpc is $9.32, which tells us that the word google adsense can generates an estimated high adsens income and can be classify as high paying adsense keywords.

This are only just an estimated value, no one really knows how much you can get for the keyword when visitors click the ad. But it’s better to have an estimated adsense cpc to target.

Next is to look how many website are there competing with the keyword we have choose. Open google search engine and type in the keyword, “[google adsense]” then hit google search button.

Once the search result is generated, we can now see the competition, for our sample a total of 21,500,000 pages are competing for google adsense. Wow, that’s a lot of competitors.

Now our estimate based on 301,000 searches per month against 21,500,000 search result. There are 71 pages competing for each visitor searching for google adsense. If you want to be found by one visitor you must outrank 70 sites and to think that the page on top is owned by google, therefore the keyword we choose is not feasible to get rank for. Now, try to find another keyword that can generates high adsense income with less competition then when you find one, optimized your blog to target that keyword. When I am estimating I used a keyword that less or equivalent to 10 pages competing for that keyword.

Every bloggers goal is to be up there on the first page of the search engine with of course using the high paying adsense keywords. When you target high paying keyword ensure that the keyword can be seen in your blog or else you will end up on the last page of google search engine.

How a keyword is implemented on your blog

Keyword phrase text is made bold.
Make the keyword italic.
Key must be in heading text
Include keyword on the url of your page. For blogger.com when you right the title of the post, this will automatically reflected to the URL of the page.

Finding the high paying adsense keywords needs a lot of researching to do with the help of keyword tools, and once you have found that keyword the next move is to build traffic on that keyword, then when you rank number one on that google search result for that keyword then that’s the start of high adsense earnings.

Signing-up for Google Adsense Account and Earn Money

One source of making money with blog is by signing up for google adsense account and implement the code that will be generated once your adsense account will be approved.

How to sign up for google adsense account

1) Open adsense link then select sign up to open the window and fill-in the necessary information that google required you to provide.

2) On the “Account Type” decide whether you want an individual account or company account. The google adsense account name you will provide is where the google send the money or to who the check will be address to. So for example you choose for an individual account, payment from google will be directed to you.

3) On the “Website Information” specify the url of your blog or site, for example www.publisherquest.com and then select the language you prefer that your blog or website is used. Do not worry if you have multiple blog since you will only use one url for signing in, but you can implement the adsense code in all of your blog.

4) On the “Product Selection” leave this one as default. By default it is set to adsense for content and adsense for search.

5) On the “Contact Information” specify the complete name of the individual to receive the adsense income, including the address and phone number. On the box that says optional, no need to fill it up.

6) Then on the “Login Information” specify your email address and password including an option if you want to receive periodic news letters to get updated.

7) Once you have completed all the requirements, hit the button to submit information. After the information was sent, wait for the approval of your account. You will receive an email thru the email address you have provided informing you on the status of your application whether your google adsense account is approved or not.

If your application was approved, you can now start implementing the code to your blog.
