My baby (ruby) consistently jumps up and hits the back of your butt with her front paws when she is excited. I have tried everything but nother seems to work. Anyone has any suggestions?

There are 1 replies, with the last one on 05/23/2012 at 10:04:12 AM by pivonkaa

Reply:
Our dog has the same problem. We don't like how excited she gets when new people come around her and she jumps on them. She also will potty when she meets new people. Any suggestions on either of these things?

Looks like there are some more Diamond food recalls. . .
http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/articles/another-diamond-product-recalled.html

The new recalls are coming from a different Diamond manufacturing plant in Meta, Missouri than their South Carolina plant. This means there may be even more food recalls coming since another manufacturing plant is now involved.
http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/articles/diamond-plant-2-salmonella.html

There are 1 replies, with the last one on 05/22/2012 at 11:14:21 AM by Kath

Reply:
Wow, Diamond needs to get on the ball in watching their plants.
Hi everyone. It has beens sometime since I have been out here. Hope everyone and their puggle babies are all doing well. Does anyones puggle have arthritis? Out little Herbie has a bit of a tummy bug going on from yesterday morning, and last night he was limping on his back left paw. I was up most of the night as I was worried sick about him. I took him to the vet earlier and the vet said it seems like he has arthritis. He is on 2 medications, one for pain and the other for his tummy bug. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks [:)]

There are 5 replies, with the last one on 05/22/2012 at 08:59:41 AM by Paulsgal916

Reply:
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and well wishes. Roobear, thank you so very much for all of the info you have provided. When I have some time I will defintely look into all of the links you have provided. Thankfully Herbie AND Mia are feeling better. Mia has a little bout with diarreha on Saturday and then on Sunday neither one of them would/could go. They are back to their normal crazy selves. I think it is safe to say that we all feel so helpless when our litte babies get sick and there is nothing we can do for them other than taking them to the vet and being there for them.

Help guys!

My two puggles were due to arrive on Wednesday but I've just had a call from the breader saying they've had to take the little girl to the vets. Apparently she may have an issue with her liver and food bypassing it. they've taken bloods and said she may need an ultra sound and possibly an operation. the breader has said he'll cover these costs and will update on Weds when he bring the little boy over

I don't know what to do!

There are 2 replies, with the last one on 05/22/2012 at 07:41:55 AM by amandaf

Reply:
Maggie seems to be a little better today.
It seems every weekend is the Fourth of July in my neighborhood and fireworks are shot off. My 3.5 year old Max gets extremely stressed by this and barks, pants and salivates for a good hour after each burst. I've tried a thundershirt, homeopathic pills with valerian in them, and medication from the vet to no avail. To compound the dog's barking is my husband's "barking" because he can't stand the noise and that only stresses Max more. I can figure out ways to get my husband to quick barking...but not the dog. I sure could use some ideas and help!

There are 3 replies, with the last one on 05/20/2012 at 2:30:01 PM by seschulman

Reply:
Thanks. We'll try Rescue Remedy. We've called the police a couple times on weeknights, but to no avail. And we've tried treats, but he's too upset to eat them.

That's funny about sitting on your head. Max is 36 lbs and loves to sit on my shoulder - when there's no fireworks.

hi everyone,

my poor little dutch had a sore bottom last week, and when i brought him to the vet, it ended up that his anal glands abscessed. i have never had issues with them before - he has never even needed them expressed. So he had surgery and now he has a drain for 5 days to make sure the infection has time to heal and get him back to normal.

has anyone ever had to deal with this before? also, does anyone know of a good fiber supplement? i don't want to change their food totally because they love it, so i was thinking i could add it into his diet through a chew or cookie.

There are 1 replies, with the last one on 05/16/2012 at 10:42:10 AM by Jessi

Reply:
We've never had a problem with the boys, but our vet does check them at every visit.

Raw green beans & carrots can be chopped up and added to their food.

Glad to hear he is doing better : )

Well we have an escape artist on our hands as of today. Brie climbed out of her "play pen" while we were at work and greeted me at the door! Any suggestions?

There are 10 replies, with the last one on 05/14/2012 at 5:42:02 PM by Bubbaj57

Reply:
Penny used to jump out of her play pin....we topped it off with plastic fencing.
We have 2 puggle puppies from the same litter - one each boy & girl. Our vet has advised that we have the boy neutred and the girl spayed - before they are 6 months old. My question is, if they are not going to encounter other dogs, eliminating the possibility of unwanted puppies, why should they BOTh have the op? why not just have the boy neutred? any advice?

There are 5 replies, with the last one on 05/09/2012 at 10:05:56 AM by Kath

Reply:
There are also health benfits to having your girl spayed. We had a dog years ago who was not spayed and she got mammory tumors. One grew to be softball sized. It would have been less likely for these tumors if she had been spayed. We've never owned another female that wasn't spayed.
