Who says that Etsy Jewelry folks don't purchase from other Jewelry sellers? Hogwash I say!!! Recently I felt the urge to treat myself to a gift, a New Year's gift to myself. It has been a LONG time since I purchased something on Etsy that wasn't supplies or a gift for someone else so I wanted something for me. I wanted earrings. Dangly earrings are the one thing I cannot leave the home without wearing. And now that I have super short hair, they stand out even more.

Pulp Sushi at Hellocotton

I received an email from Hellocotton this morning introducing themselves and wanting to show me how an account with them would look like. They took the liberty of setting up an account for me already and when I logged in, I Ooooh'd and Aaaaaah'd.

Hellocotton started its adventure in France with Hellocoton.fr which has been a huge success among the French audience and bloggers. They are now taking this success story to the next level with a US / English speaking version of Hellocoton France: Hellocotton.com. This is geared specifically to women bloggers and building a community.

It's a neat tool to have to promote your blog and discover other inspiring blogs to follow. It's not quite like Bloglovin' where you can add any blogs to follow. Blog Update: Flapper Girl Odyssey Necklace

A new necklace was added to the shop today, Flapper Girl Odyssey. I made it this past weekend while snowed in. Totally on a whim and it's my spin on Steampunk. I'm a big fan of the style and have wanted to make something inspired by it for a while now but I wanted to do it right. I didn't want to just take random watch parts and stick them together, there's more to it than that. And I wanted it to still look Pulp Sushi.

I'm not going to pretend that I'm some sort of Steampunk expert, but I love the fashion & art. It's dark, it's sexy, it's macabre and beautiful. One of my most favorite things is when a style is given a quirky twist.

The Flapper Girl was a thought I've been playing around with for a while and thought the bead strands would work well together. The necklace is a mix of antiqued finish brass, gunmetal, freshwater pearls, czech glass, and onyx beads.

Last Thursday I did something drastic and chopped off ALL of my hair! I've had my hair short before, but never this short.

I just needed a serious break from my high-maintenance hair. When you have fine, curly/wavy hair that frizzes easy, it can be a real pain in the toosh every morning. I was just wearing it up most of the time. Plus I wanted to do something drastically different with my appearance. I'm happy!

So did anyone else get snow this weekend?

This is what I woke up to Saturday morning. Good thing we had no plans and just stayed in all weekend! It was pretty nice actually, quite relaxing. I caught up with some knitting and my crocheting is coming along nicely. I will share some pictures soon.
