Any of you which have not yet tried the Makeup Geek eyeshadows have to immediately go out and try them! They are a brand I have only recently become more familiar with but I am in absolute love! So far I have tried a few of their basic eye shadows, their foiled eyeshadows (which are to die for!) and their sparklers. I really don't have a bad thing to say about any of them! They are such high quality products at really affordable prices! One of the things I love most about their eyeshadows is the sheer range of colours! Like Mac, they pretty much have a colour for every occasion! They are really a great place to start for beginners, as well as being a great addition to the collections or more experienced beauty lovers. The eyeshadow I am wearing here is a matte burgundy shade called 'Bitten'. Like all their shadows, it has incredible colour pay off and lasting ability. This colour is definitely one of my favourites! Its a colour I see Rachel Leary wearing a lot, so naturally I had to give it ago myself! Its pretty much the perfect autumn/winter shade, really rich and beautiful.

Nars Sheer Glow First Impression and Review!

Nars Sheer Glow foundation is probably one of the most iconic foundations in the world! Its one I have lusted over for so long! The reason its taken me so long to try this foundation is the fact that I had no idea what shade I would be! After watching one of Shaaanxo's videos where she mentioned the Temptalia Foundation Matrix, I was finally able to order the foundation in the right shade!The shade I have is 'Deauville', a name I found really ironic considering how much time I spent in France during my childhood. Its basically a more neutral light shade, rather than being overly pink or yellow. The finish of the foundation really surprised me! I was expecting it to be really wet and dewy. However, although the foundation is definitely dewy its not actually that wet at all. In fact, it was really comfortable on the skin! The dewy finish is so beautiful! I felt so flawless and glamorous wearing this foundation! If you have not had a chance to try out this foundation for yourself, I would definitely recommend it. I know its quite pricey, but I feel like its worth every penny!

How to save a DSLR Camera from water damage

Since I dropped my DSLR camera (Canon 700D) in the bath... its been working OK. By OK, I mean, their have been a few bits and pieces which I notice it does now and again which it never did before, such as showing error messages etc. But at this point I am still able to use it - which I am happy with for now.

I am sure you are thinking 'Why the hell did you have it near the bath?!'. Well, any of you that read my blog regularly will know that this blog is all about beauty! When I dropped my camera in the bath I was actually taking pictures for my blog!! I'm not saying the technique I used will work for every camera but these steps are definitely worth a try before packing your dearest possession off to camera heaven. So, I suppose I should just jump right into explaining what I did to save my camera!

Step 1:

So, you've dropped your camera and it is completely submerged in water. The first thing you need to do, obviously, is quickly remove it from the water. At this point, your camera has probably turned itself off but whether the camera is off or on, you need to IMMEDIATELY remove the battery from the camera as fast as possible. This is crucial! Removing the battery will prevent the camera from trying to work whilst its still wet. This is the fatal step many people miss out! Attempting to use your camera whilst its still wet will almost indefinitely kill it. Just be patient! I know how it feels wanting to know if your camera is going to live or die, but trust me it'll be worth the wait if all goes well! The next thing you want to do is remove the memory card or SD card. These things are pretty sturdy so the chances are you will still have all your pictures left. However, its best to remove the card just in case!

Step 2:
This next step is going to be difficult depending on were you are. I was at home at the time I dropped mine so I was able to act fast but this might not always be the case. What I did next was the real deal breaker when it came to the survival of my camera. I opened up the entire camera, removed the lens and started to dry it with a hair dryer. I did this for about 20-30 minutes. As the camera got warm the water evaporated, making it one of the quickest ways to dry your cameras insides thoroughly. The only thing I would say is to be careful not to let the camera get too hot, you don't want to damage it further. If your taking pictures outside when you drop your camera but have a car available, it might be worth blowing the cars heaters at full blast at the cameras body and lens as an alternative to a hair dryer.

Step 3:
Even if you think your camera is dry at this point, DO NOT TURN IT ON! If you turn it on at this stage, all your hard work will have been wasted! Just hang in there!

Step 4:
Once you are happy your camera and lens is pretty much dry (to the best of your knowledge), you will need to soak it in rice. This will just allow anymore moisture to be drawn out of the camera before you try turning it on in a few days time. To protect the camera from the rice, all I did was pop it into a pair of tights just to stop the rice getting in all its little parts. I then put the camera into a bowl and poured in massive amounts of rice until the camera was completely submerged. I then left the camera for one week in a warm, dry place. This is another extremely important step! Please do not be tempted to try turning your camera on after a day or two of sitting in rice. It must be left for at least a week! This will ensure as much moisture as possible has been removed from the camera and will reduce the risk of any further damage.

Once you have waited a week with your camera submerged, its time to finally turn it on! Hopefully all will go well and your camera will come back to life! However, this will massively depend on how long your camera was submerged, weather it was knocked whilst it was under and how quickly you acted at trying to rescue it. Either way, these simple steps are definitely worth a try!

I love braids! They are soooo pretty! I have been wanting to show you these three looks for a little while now but have only just got the chance to film them! My favourite one is definitely the ponytail. Its a look I see a lot on Pinterest, so really wanted to recreate it. When it comes to my YouTube channel, I never really know whether or not to do a quick post on my blog just to let you guys know I have uploaded new material. NYE Glitter Cut Crease

This is definitely my favourite makeup look I have ever created! Its a beautiful silver and blue cut crease, with a 60's feel to it. Its not something I would typically wear, but once I had it on I didn't want to take it off! I felt so glamorous but unique wearing this makeup! Definitely the perfect new years eve makeup look! I'm not usually one for a gradient or ombre lip either, but I think these compliment each other really well! Let me know what you think or if you try it out!

New Year Resolutions 2016!

I hate being the person that frowns on all the 'New year, new me' stuff, so this year its all going to change! To begin with I was just going to write a little blog post on what I wanted my resolutions to be this year, but I thought it might be nice to actually film them instead! I was really nervous filming this video because I think its the first time I've really just been myself and talked without thinking! I'm sure that sounds so daft to a lot of you but filming videos can be so intimidating but I'm really enjoying it! I hope that 2016 will bring with it many more videos for you guys (if you enjoy them that is). I hope you all have a fabulous New Years eve and I look forward to talking to you in 2016!

My top 5 Resolutions for 2016!:

1) Be more organised!

2) Better time keeping!

3) Run more.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas! As you can see from my pictures, I certainly did! I spent the day at my mums house with my sister and her family, as well as my mums boyfriend and her crazy little chocolate Labrador! I am absolutely obsessed with Sunday dinners, so Christmas dinner to me is like heaven! I am also a massive chocoholic, so you could say Christmas for me is like a dream come true! This year my mum bought the girls all matching Christmas themed dresses and the boys wore Christmas jumpers. It was such a lovely idea and made the day really festive! For my makeup I used my new Stila palette, 'Eyes are the window to the soul', which I talk about in my previous post. It really is a lovely, everday palette. It is definitely my new favourite! I had a fab day and hope you all did too!

I am literally having a mini heart attack right now! I have been dying to get my hands on this palette ever since I saw Chloe Morello talk about it on her YouTube channel! Its the Stila 'Eyes are the Window to the Soul' eye shadow palette. I am sure lots of you have heard of this range, or even have several of the palettes but this is the first time I have managed (or being able to afford) to get my hands on one! Under normal circumstances, the palettes retail for approx. £30 each. However, a new store opened in Cheshire Oaks called 'The Beauty Outlet', so as you expect, it sells a range of brands at discounted prices. Most of them were brands such as Max Factor and Rimmel, but this store also has a Stila counter! After having a quick browse I spotted this and fell in love! Its a beautiful neutrals palette which consists mainly of shimmery colours. The main thing that drew my too this palette was not only the stunning colours but also the size of the palette. Its really compact making it super easy for travelling. Ideal during the festive season when a lot of us are travelling home for Christmas! Once Christmas is over I will pop a couple of pictures up using some of the colours so you can see what they look like in person. I would have done that this time but I was so excited I just had to post about it!

Christmas Gift Guide!

If you are anything like me, you will have left nearly all your Christmas shopping to the last minute! Something I have really struggled with this year, is coming up with gift ideas on a budget. For those of you that read my blog regularly, at the moment I am doing an internship which is unfortunately unpaid. Which means this Christmas I have had to be extremely nifty when present buying! I thought I would put together a quick post including a handful of the things I have bought family this year. Most of them are relatively low price, however, there are a couple of more high end products in there. I hope this hopes a few of you! Enjoy!

Bracelet £4

This beautiful bracelet is from Primark. Its super dainty and really pretty! Something I thought would be great to wear on Christmas day to really add to the festivities!

Under the Sea: Colouring for mindfulness

This year is definitely the year of the adult colouring book! If you have never heard of these, then you have definitely been living under a rock! I picked this one up from The Works and its really detailed and pretty! As you can see it has an 'Under the Sea' theme, which is so different to a lot of the more floral colouring books I've seen!

The Sparkler £14

These smell and look beautiful! They contain a really soft glitter that you can spray in your hair, clothes or onto your skin. It just adds a really delicate bit of sparkle! Perfect for Christmas!

Panda Hat £3

Omg! I am obsessed with this hat! Its actually from the children's section in Primark as I bought it for my 11 year old niece. But its so cute, I really don't want to give it away!

Slippers £2.50

Who doesn't want slippers at Christmas?! They are pretty much the epitome of cosy! These ones are sooooooo soft! They are literally like a little hug for your feet! These too are also from Primark, making them super affordable!

Hidden Surprise Cakes

So, I couldn't remember the price of this one but I picked it up from The Works! One of the things I have really noticed becoming popular this year are awesome cake recipe's for quirky and fun cakes (especially on facebook). When I saw this book I knew it would be right up my sisters street!

Embroidered Purse £3

This little purse is another Primark special I bought for my niece. Its really pretty and detailed, making it the perfect gift for a girly girl.

Silver Scarf £4

Ok, so at this point I'm sure you've gathered that there is a pattern emerging! This beautiful scarf is again from Primark. Its a silver in colour but is also really glittery! It just looks really feminine but still festive!

Lipstick £15.50 and Lip liner

So maybe not quite so affordable but still a lovely gift idea is a mac lipstick and lip liner duo. One of my favourites is mac lipstick 'Please me' with the lip liner ' Stripdown'. Such a lovely pinky-nude lip!

I hope this post was able to give you a few last minute ideas! I know posting this on Christmas eve is extremely last minute but right now I am still scrambling gifts together!

Mac Lipstick Collection!

Mac is a brand I have been obsessed with since I was a teenager! Its the sheer array of colours and textures which make their lipstick ranges just incredible! Its also one of those brands that pretty much every girl lusts over. But often buying or choosing a lipstick colour can be so difficult and scary when your spending a lot of money on a small product. This is really where my YouTube fascination started. Videos are such a great place to get an idea of how a lipstick truly looks, as well as ideas of how to wear it! I don't have a massive Mac lipstick collection, but there is enough here to be able to give some of you guys an idea of what a few of the colours look like. Especially if, like me, you have really fair skin and worry about what is really going to look good! Lets face it, when buying more high-end makeup, you want to get it right! I don't always post my videos up on my blog but I thought this one would be useful for so many of you, especially whilst buying gifts during the festive period!

Sushi Kiss

I have been looking for this colour my entire life! It is literally the lipstick of my dreams! Which is crazy because its a colour I've never worn before! Sushi Kiss is what can only be described as a pastel neon orange. It sounds odd but it is truly beautiful! It has a lovely creamy texture with great colour payoff. The colour also lasts really well, which is a plus. This would be a fabulous spring/summer lip colour but I love it so much I'm wearing it all year round! I have been wearing it with a light cooper smokey-eye, which you can see in the bottom image, and I think it looks stunning! A really great combo! Its just such an easy colour to wear which is still so different and unique! I can safely say I am in love!

One of my favourite places to visit is London. I find it so colourful and inspiring. Its not often that my boyfriend and I get the chance to spend some time together, so this weekend we thought we would drive down to London for the day. For those of you that don't know, we live in Cheshire, so London is quite a drive for us. We usually will drive down to Stanmore station, leave the car there, and then get the tube into the centre of London. Not being a massive fan of public transport this works well for us! It means we don't have to be restricted by train times etc!

We started the day off by visiting the Natural History museum, which was absolutely beautiful. For someone who studied International Wildlife Biology, it really felt like my entire degree forced into one stunning building. I'm sure any of you who have also studied biology feel the same! The second place we decided to visit on our travels was Harrods. This may seem crazy to some of you but I had never been before! From what I had heard, Harrods seemed to be a relatively normal department store. A great place for a shopaholic like myself. Well, once we arrived at Harrods it was clear that this wasn't the case! Those of you that have been before will know exactly what I'm talking about! Harrods is completely stunning! One of the most visually inspiring places I have ever been! Looking around I really felt like a wholesome country girl in the big city, but I loved every single second of it! One of my favourite places in Harrods was the food hall. Everything was so detailed and beautiful! Mince-pies, chocolates, pastries... If you had the money, you could have a fabulous Christmas with the treats in Harrods! To finish the day we went for a walk to see Buckingham palace and the Houses of Parliament. There is something about the Houses of Parliament which I find so breath taking. Whenever we go to London, we always have to stop by for a quick look!

In between everything else, we did manage to take some quick pictures in some of the most picturesque areas of London. The majority of them were taken just around the corner from the Natural History museum. One of the things I really want to do more on my blog is include some nice pictures from the places we go, so I hope you enjoy them! I had loads of fun shooting them, but I must say, I don't think I'll ever get used to people standing watching whilst I pose for a photo! Definitely a weird and bizarre moment!

The Christmas celebration period is finally here! Its a time of year which I absolutely love and look forward too pretty much from the 1st of January. To kick start our festive period, my boyfriend and I went to the Cheshire Oaks lights switching on. For those of you that don't know, Cheshire Oaks is a shopping complex which is home to the largest Christmas tree in Europe! One of the cutest things about the tree is that they have a little Santa's grotto inside, its so sweet! This year they also had a local singing group helping keep morale up in the not so great weather, nevertheless, we still had a nice time despite the weather! In addition to the tree, a collection of Christmas markets and a carousel were also their for your enjoyment. Fireworks started at 7.30 and took us by surprise from the sheer noise they made! The fireworks were so loud! Easiest the loudest I have ever heard! They were also the most colourful fireworks I have ever seen! Some of the colours seemed so unusual and different to most 'typical' firework displays. There appeared to be an array of soft pastel colours amongst the typical bright green and reds. It really was a fabulous end to a festive evening. On the way back to the car, we couldn't help but admire all the beautiful lights put up in the trees. So much effort must have gone into assembling those lights and for us, this definitely did not go unnoticed! The lights were simply stunning! I hope my images were able to capture that. I would love to here about any other Christmas events coming up! I'm always on the look out to go somewhere new!

Whats in my bag?

A woman's handbag holds all her little secrets! Well, at least for me it does! The thing I love most about a good handbag is that you can really go all out whilst keeping the rest of your outfit simple. A handbag allows you to go outside your comfort zone in such an effortless way, enabling you to really experiment with your style. As well as that, they obviously act as an undeniable storage function which I could never live without! I stuff my bag full of bits 'n' pieces until I cant zip it up! One of my favourite items to fill it with being different beauty products which I may, ~~but actually will never,~~ need (lol I'm sure a lot of you can sympathise with my issues of over-packing). So, for todays post I thought I would let you have a little sneak-peak inside my current handbag! I bought this from River Island about a year or so ago, and I absolutely love it! The navy blue and cream colours really make it a timeless piece for my collection, something you can really wear all year round! The gold detailing is probably my favourite part of the bag. It just makes it look so pretty and glamorous! I've had a number of bags from River Island and they nearly all last well! I would love to know if any of you have seen any cute bags in River Island recently?! I haven't yet had the chance to go an explore their new winter range! Leopard Halloween Tutorial!

This year I'm all about the last minute Halloween tutorial! I love Halloween, but this year I just haven't had the time to really embrace Halloween (insert sad face)! However, I know that in previous years one of my favourite go-to costume ideas is always a leopard, mainly because its so quick and easy! Outfit wise you can pretty much wear anything, as long as its black, which for me is definitely a plus! Also, being an animal lover and crazy-cat lady, it seems like an absolute must! For this tutorial, I used almost completely facepaint, with just a few bits of makeup thrown in for detail. The brand I used was Snazaroo, which I must say was a pleasure to use. The colours were so much more pigmented than many of the other facepaint brands I've tried. I would definitely recommend them as a costume-type investment! Something that's great to hide-away in your draws for fancy-dress occasions!

Fall in Love

What a beautiful season! Autumn is definately my favourite month and to celebrate I have given my blog a mini makeover, changing the colour scheme to make it feel more autumnal! For me, autumn feels like a start of a new chapter, especially this year, so I thought I would write a post about all the things I am loving about autumn. I also really wanted to create a collection of photos which really reflect how I view autumn in all its glory!

What I'm loving:

- I handed in my MSc thesis on friday... I am finally free!

- I have started a new job which I am absolutely in love with!

- This new beginning makes me feel like, at last, I have the chance to really escape expectation and do what feels right for me.

- Everyone knows autumn means berry toned lips!

- Cosy scarfs are everything! I love layering accessories, it can really change an outfit!

- Beautiful, sunny, misty mornings. I really hope I managed to capture that in these images.

- Burgundy everything!

- Halloween is literally just around the corner. I can't wait to decorate the house with pumpkins! Me and Ian (the boyfriend) always have a competition of who can carve the best pumpkin! I always lose...

- Autumn means its nearly Christmas!

I think it's safe to say that floral crowns have been one of the biggest trends of summer 2014/2015. We see them everywhere! I think one of the things I love most about them is how feminine and dainty they are. They can make a boring or ordinary outfit into glamour princess in seconds! While I was on holiday a few weeks ago, I popped into Primark and found a stunning floral crown which triggered the inspiration for this blog post/video. I basically wanted to do an ethereal and magical type makeup look that could be used to for; Halloween, fancy dress or just as a dramatic eye look!

Before I created my makeup look I browsed google images for some inspiration and this is what I came up with!

I really wanted my look to reflect these three images. Of course the women in the images are stunning! But I wanted my makeup to really reflect the arty-ness of these pictures. I hope you like it!

My makeup look definitely turned out a little more bright and light-hearted than the images but I still really love it!

Glastonberry | Charlotte Tilbury

We all know that the signature colour for this autumn has to be the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in 'Glastonberry'. It is the epitome of autumnal! The shade is a perfect dark berry red with a beautiful purple undertone. A classic and timeless colour for this time of year. Unlike many other berry lipsticks, it has a more satin finish than matte... making it very comfortable to wear. Its lasting power is great! So, I often go all day wearing it without having to make any touch-ups.

The first thing that really attracted me to this brand was, not just the fact that Charlotte Tilbury is an incredible makeup artist, but also the stunning packaging! As you can see from the images, the packaging is a beautiful rose gold colour. I always think its looks so grown-up and mature when I pop it into my makeup bag! It has a very retro feel about it! I feel like I'm 10 years old again and stealing my mum and grandmothers makeup! Its just so beautiful! Price-wise, yes it is quite expensive at £23 per lipstick. But the quality makes this luxirious product a real investment and statement piece for your collection. A definate must if you ever get the chance to splurge! I have really loved every second of this lipstick and wanted to share it with you all!

Zoella Beauty

As the nights begin to draw in, its that time of the year again where baths and cosy-comforts start to take over! Typically, when it comes to bath products I usually shop at Lush or The Body Shop but this time I decided to change it up abit! I'm not ashamed to say that I'm a massive Zoella fan. Who isnt?! But I have never actually gotten round to trying any of her products! I know! Shame on me! Well, a week or so ago I decided to finally take the plunge and purchase the Zoella Beauty fizz bar (£5), soak opera (£5) and body mist (£9).

All three products have the same floral and light scent. Its nice and subtle, you can definately tell its been designed to meet the expectations of a range of age groups. Which is great for those of us who are looking to start buying christmas presents for friends and family! What I really love about these products is that, although I love them, they are also fab for younger age groups. The other thing I really love about this range is how happy and uplifting it is! Anyone who watches Zoe's Youtube videos will know what a positive outlook she has on life, and I really see that reflected in these products!

The products I have mentioned here are from her first range. Her more recent product launch features a 'Tutti Fruity' scent, which I really look forward to trying in the future. I also hear she is releasing christmas themed products in the next few months! Definately something to keep your eyes peeled for!

Kendall Jenner | Restless

Yesterday was my birthday and my boyfriend bought me the new Estee Lauder lipstick by Kendall Jenner. Its name is 'Restless' and it retails for £25, which is about standard for an Estaa Lauder lipstick. The finish is definately Matte, which means its really long lasting! I went out for dinner yesterday and it stayed on all day! As you can see from the pictures its an vibrant orange/red shade. Great for summer but also beautiful as we start the transition into autumn. I love this lipstick! Its definately my new favourite!

When I first started blogging, I felt like their was a lot of pressure to produce post after post. But recently I have decided to let go a little bit and just post about what really excites me! I hope you are able to tell a little bit from the style of some of my more recent posts.

One of the most difficult things in a girls life is trying to find the perfect blusher. Although I am a massive blusher fan, wearing way to much most of the time, its one of the things that intimidates me most when shopping for makeup. Most of the time blushers can look amazing swatched or on other people, but when it comes to me its just not the same! As a result, for the past two years I have been wearing the same Body Shop blusher... living in fear of straying from what I know. Espically when so many of the top makeup brands around can be quite pricey! You want to get it right the first time and not waste your money!

My favourite makeup brand is easily Mac Comestics. Their range of colours and textures is just incomparable to any other makeup brand. But its also the brand which often intimidates me the most. I always feel like the staff seem to be a little condisending... but other than that the sheer range of products can be overwhelming! Theirs a shop near where I live called The Cosmetics Company. It basically sells high end makeup and beauty products as discounted prices. Its a great place to go if you find looking at a million different colours and shades a little intimidating, as their are only a couple of colours of each item... so your not left with a great deal of choice. This can obviously sometimes be a bit of a hindrance but a lot of the time it really helps to narrow down my choices!

This is where I picked up this blusher and OMG its incredible! Its called 'Sweet Sentiment' and is a mineralize blush, which I initially thought meant it would be quite sheer. This product is the complete opposite of sheer! Its a beautiful dusky rose colour but with a definate pop of bright pink as an undertone. Its the perfect kind of 'I've just been to the gym and have flushed cheeks...' kinda look. Easy to wear and really versatile. Its the type of colour I wear everyday. I am so excited to finally move on from my old and tatty Body Shop blusher!
