What do you think about when people bring up the future of technology? First things that come to my mind are floating cars, holographic computers, and brain downloads like on "The Matrix." Though it may seem like a small step into the future, but these holographic sheets could enhance the way we use computers and allow a real 3d element to what we see on our 2d screens right now.

Maybe in the next 10 years we could have one of these 3d holographic sheets as computer monitors hanging on the walls of all our rooms in the house. Wouldn't that be awesome! I was sitting outside this morning on my back porch while glaring over at the neighbor's lawn with envy. If you haven't heard about the Untitled Jersey City Project yet then you haven't been online recently. My friends have been nagging me for the past week or so to go watch the sneak peak videos that the creators of the up and coming show posted on the web.

Typically when I hear about Jersey City, I think tall hair, lots of bronzer, and fist pumping in the club. Boy did I just see a whole other side of it. I saw clearly why Untitled Jersey City Project has gone viral! There was action throughout the whole video with speed chases and fights which is unbelievable since these were just SNEAK PEAKS!!! The beautiful AUDI cars really caught my attention too. I was swaying from side-to-side as if I was in the passenger side of the car during the chase. Grrr.. what I would give just to take one of those out for a spin one day.

There was actually a plot to the show (which seems to be hard to find anymore). The plot was filled with action, money, fame, and power hungry people willing to do anything for what they want. Not to mention all the characters are like human eye candy. Larry, the apparent bad guy in the plot, puts mafia Godfathers to shame. Stopping at nothing to claim the city as his money playground. The two main character (both hawt) provide that romantic steam to keep it interesting and also gives those non-action watching women something to enjoy. Seriously, it's a future prize winning show to me.

The show is still a work in progress which now I am dying to see what comes next. Oh, don't fall off because it will probably hurt! (Gotta watch it to get the inside joke!) Is it really worth buying the HP Touchpad Tablet for $99? I say, "YES!" The reason is this.. Even though HP is no longer going to keep working on the hardware, the device will still be actively working and giving the user a tablet when they couldn't afford the others. There are also ways around the whole OS problem.

Pretty much anything out there has been rooted already. The tablet could be rooted and run a Linux operating system to give you a very usable device. Especially with the Android OS. The apps could be uploaded onto the device and run on one of the ARM versions of the operating system.

Windows 7...Still in heaven!

People are still ranting and raving about the greatness that was presented to us just a few months ago called Windows 7. Some are saying that this is the best version of Windows yet to come out. The sales have flabbergasted many people that were not expecting it to do all that good. Although there are a few quirks and problems with the system it has to be understood that there is no way to obtain perfection for everyone on an operating system since it is used by so many different types of people, and the time frame for which they allot for it to be built is minimal. Granted that many people were getting frustrated with the Vista and XP operating systems they have been pushed pretty heavily into buying this new one.

Online Shipping and clicking

Why go to a store when you can ship something online. How you may ask… Well, there are many ways to do this, either you can have the company that you purchased the items from send it to whom you want or even print out your delivery labels and tape them to the top of your box. A few tips of things to make sure you do when packing and sending via online:

1. Make sure to use adequate packing…(ie. Bubble wrap, Styrofoam, or Peanuts)
2. Make sure to use the correct sized box (when you shake the box nothing should rattle or move)
3. Properly tape the box to make sure there are no openings for things to fall out
4. Do not put tape on the corners because the tape can be torn off by convetor belts.
5. Make sure that you use the correct weight for the item or it can be sent back to you if too heavy.
6. Call your delivery company to schedule a pickup and they will get it from your home (most companies will do this free of charge)
7. Make sure the address is correct (you can never check too many times)
8. Properly insure the items to make sure that they will be covered in case of loss or damage.
9. If in doubt leave it to the professionals… take it into a delivery store for them to package and ship.
10. If box is not done correctly then the insurance will NOT pay out. Beware! (make sure there is at least 2inches of padding on all sides to insure properly padded)

New Mobility Era

The process of communication has been cut down from days of horse carriers, to snail mail, and now to seconds via the internet. Book reading has gone from parchment paper, to a book printed and bound, all the way to an e-book reader such as the Kindle. The internet has taken us so far in the technology age putting information and communication into our hands. The Apple Tablet might be the next huge development for us. Putting all of these together pushed us into a huge mobility age. The Iphone, Kindle, and laptop have all pushed us into this age, but the tablet could be the combination of all these in one bundle. Leaked sources close to Steve Jobs are saying that the new tablet is going to be a Kindle breaker and will start pushing people into the new era. Prepare to buy some Apple stocks!

Google Takes On Discrimination

In attempts to stop discrimination google has started to change the way their searches work. Is this a good thing or a bad? With the amount of discrimination out there is there really a way to police the internet, or is it even fair to do it? If there is a way to make someone feel bad or demoralize someone then there is someone out there that will make a website for it. For instance there was a very disturbing picture of Michelle Obama being portrayed as an ape. Google has actually put out ads that were apologizing for this discreptency. This is neither necessary nor required of them to do this, but at the same time it gives them a good warm feeling inside while making us feel as though the enormous company is still being ran by a thoughtful bunch of people.

This was a good attempt to clean up some of that nastiness on the internet. The only thing that worries me about this is that I might be sensored as an individual with a thought process and opinion. It always starts with one bad egg then it ruins it for all the rest. Do we really want to leave this decision making and policing of the interwebs up to a corporation? For me, I don’t think so. Ever sat there looking at your ceiling and wondering what a song made of only sounds from Windows or Apple? Okay, well I might have been alone on this one, but figured that I would let you take a listen and tell me which you think is better! This surprised me to hear how good the music turned out. Not worthy of a standing ovation, but well worth a minute to listen then comment.

Google Phone leaked "Nexus One"

Of course, everyone is rambling on about the Nexus One phone. If you've been in a cave with Osama and haven't heard of it yet then I shall take a moment to explain. The Nexus One is the alleged name for the new Google phone that is being tested out at the moment by the Google employees.

This phone, which has been seen by only a handful of people, was labeled as the best of both worlds. With attributes from both the iPhone and Droid. The phone will be running off of the Android platform of course (duhh since it is Google's Mobile Operating System). This could be called the "Open Source Phone". Not only will the operating system (Android) be open source, but the phone will also be sold as an unlocked GSM phone.

With the phone being unlocked this will be one of the first phones to give us a true option in voice/data services. We won't be stuck with a 1 or 2-year service contract with a cellular company that we don't feel like is up to our standards. This was one huge problem with the iPhones and Droids. They tied you down when people don't want to be tied down. As technology is growing at a substantial rate and the mobile phone field being at the top of that list, you would think that companies would understand that an awesome unlocked phone would rule the entire mobile market.

Google's plan to dominate the world is coming true. Watch your back dear mister Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. I see this company squashing you and they don't even sell crap! They are only making money off of the advertisements that they sell off to companies. This is a win, win situation for the entire tech community. We don't spend money for awesome services, and they make money by sending prospective customers to companies.

Hopefully, the phone will also be integrated with their soon to come voip services. If we could get the free voip services, wave, and voice all put on one phone then everyone will be happy. It is also rumored that the Nexus One phone will be sold only at cost. They are not going to pull profits off of the phone, but make money off of mobile advertisements. Sounds like a good deal to me if this is true.
