Every now and then you get an opportunity to do something amazing. Something that money can't buy, that no magic can create and no drug can manifest. It is a time that will be extracted from your own history book and repeatedly told at dinner parties and social work events. It can never be fabricated, it can never be replicated and it can never be replaced. As the memory floods in it will you put a childish smirk on your face but then leave you with a reflective sadness of a time long gone. These opportunities should never be passed up, never contain regret and always remind you that the world is not all that bad.

Drowning Your Summers.

2011-12-22T13:19:00.000-08:00

I first realised about a month ago when my bank balance read zero, it was then confirmed shortly after when the temperature outside dropped to the same depressing figure. The resulting conclusion? Reality had struck! I knew it was inevitable, but when the fantasy life of my European summer holiday came to an abrupt holt, it hit me like the pounding headache from a post Pimms binge.
So now here I am, left with only fuzzy memories of an amazing four months brought into a focus on those rare nostalgic days when I look back at photos. All I have to do now is hibernate for another four months and do it all again next year. Cheers to that!

Man On A Train.

2011-11-11T04:32:00.000-08:00

I took this on my train ride back from Edinburgh. I just thought it was such a classic image of that boring train journey. The reality was it was not boring at all, well not to me who still finds dried leaves on the floor as a playground for the imagination.

Poor But Sexy.

2011-09-15T09:42:00.000-07:00

So an awesome road trip was darkened when our rental was broken into and most of my stuff was stolen. This devastatingly included my camera. The only logical solution that didn't completely destroy my already crippled wallet was to buy a 3euro disposable and continue snapping away. I'm glad I did because Berlin loves a good photo.

Haggis and Happy Days.

2011-08-23T10:01:00.000-07:00

I have been living in Edinburgh for the last two months. working hard, partying harder. I'm sure I will have more photos to upload as I go on but I thought I would share these ones to get started.

Bwani Junction.

2011-08-20T08:28:00.000-07:00

I came across this cool little indie band from Edinburgh called Bwani Juntion. They are a cross between Vampire Weekend and well Scotland.

London Calling.....Hello?

2011-07-14T08:49:00.000-07:00

What was originally planned for seven days, quickly turned into a month long London adventure. I am not sure if it is the charm of the old buildings, parks and royal history? Or the people both local and tourist? Or the simple fact that it is London. What ever the reason it has been a great time.

Une Journée Parfaite à Paris.

2011-07-04T09:37:00.000-07:00

So I had a weekend in Paris. An amazing city and a great time. The only hick-up came on the last day when I decided to climb the Eiffel Tower and see what the fuss was all about. Things were going great, until half-way up when I realized my camera battery was dead. My only option was the most hipster of all phone apps, Hipstermatic. Hick-up resolved.

Not So Happy Days.

2011-06-30T20:08:00.000-07:00

Poor Colin lost his beloved Zippo lighter. If you see it please let me know.

Sunshine Lollipops.

2011-06-28T17:28:00.000-07:00

Some days are just perfect. This was one.

Welcome to London.

2011-06-27T04:20:00.000-07:00

Sometimes you find somewhere that just has a buzz to it. An unexplainable energy that makes you stand up and say "I need to be a part of this". For some it might happen in their local pub or for others may happen in a nearby park. This feeling may not last forever but every now and then it will spike back up when you would least expect it. Welcome to London, my eyes are open and the buzz kind of tickles.

Spring Cleaning in the Winter Time.

2011-06-23T10:48:00.000-07:00

Just some left over images I had lying around.

A Shadow Of My Former Self.

2011-06-13T08:38:00.000-07:00

I am about to leave Perth and go see what the hype about Europe is all about. I am excited to be finally living the adventure I have dreamed about for years, but at the same time I have begun to realise the sacrifice I am making to bring this to life. The friends, family, loves and lifestyle all to be left in the dust of my own selfish path of discovery. I just hope they all still here for when I eventually return.

Roses Are Red....Sometimes.

2011-05-19T21:48:00.001-07:00

Is it still romantic to give roses on a date? Or has the slow death of chivalry now made it lame and a cry of desperation?

2011-05-04T08:00:00.000-07:00

Sometimes it's the simple things in life that really are the best. Just some beer, a park, some good people and the Sunday afternoon sun. Great times.

2011-04-27T23:43:00.000-07:00

Just a few more photos from Thailand.

You've Got Soul.

2011-04-26T06:35:00.000-07:00

I usually don't like feet. With their little worm like toes, excessive hair patterns and creepy dried skins flakes; they can make even the most beautiful girl look like a gorilla from the ankle down.

Sa-Wat-Dee-Cup

2011-04-23T08:06:00.000-07:00

It has been quite a while since I have uploaded anything. Partly because I am lazy and partly because I had a nice little holiday in the land of knots...Thai...Land...get it?...gold! Anyway, it was a great holiday and a chance for me to test out my new Leica compact. I wasn't sure how it would go and although I still prefer the freedom of an SLR I was definitely impressed with its performance. The performance during the ping-pong show however....a very different story.

So Beautiful.

2011-02-20T06:57:00.000-08:00

Just some old photos I took at a Pete Murray concert I was working at. What ever happened to this guy?

Hauder.

2011-02-13T07:53:00.000-08:00

Here are some random photos previously lost in the archives. Some really really really old, some not as dramatically old. I'm glad I rediscovered them.

Bound South

2011-02-09T11:57:00.000-08:00

I can't say its an image I love. I have had it sitting around for the last few months. But it is an image that just reminds me of Southbound. I guess a bit like a song. You might not like the song but if it reminds you of that ex or that time then you keep it on your iPod just to keep that memory alive. For me anything from Pheonix falls into that category.

We Are Sex Bob-omb!

2011-01-22T04:30:00.000-08:00

Over the years I have told a number of people that I am in a band. Some would call this a blatant lie used to get in the pants of gullible women, I personally like to called it a harmless 'fantasy truth' with no objective but to make new Facebook friends. Then, the other night everything changed. Amps were plugged in, drum sticks were tapped together and microphones were checked. 'Fantasy truth' is now just truth and although we barely got through three and a half songs and I have made no new facebook friends, I can safely say I am in a band. now all we need is a name....

Fun Facts About....Mandurah!

2011-01-15T01:37:00.000-08:00

Sometimes all you need for a great night is a pack of cards, a goon bag and some great mates. Plus of course a game where you try and spot as many utes as you can in a town where utes out number people 2 to 1.

Out Of State, Out Of Mind.

2011-01-09T23:58:00.000-08:00

Although doubling as a Christmas present for my sister who lives abroad, these three photos also gave me the chance to look at my home town from a different angle. The sea, the city and although not by blood, the family. It made me realise that people naively look down at Perth as a place with very little to offer. But I think, just like that smelly old granny that sits next to you on the bus, if you just took a second to look closer, beyond the boring and smelly wrinkles you are guaranteed to find something interesting and special. This may be a bad analogy but at least it is a nice thought and lead to a thoughtful gift.

And the Winner Is.

2010-12-19T07:16:00.000-08:00

The beer was poured, the costumes were prepared and the games began. Congratulations Greece, I hope the memories of the day were not as blurry as some of these shots.
