I can clean my house from top to bottom but somehow the monkey's still find things to put it in their mouths, and now with "Hotdog" here who is four months I know we are about to be shoved back into the " put things in mouth" stage real fast.

Since most people with allergies develop them during childhood, Dr. Alanna Levine, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), shared some of the ABC’s to help maintain a healthier home environment for children:

A is for Avoid: Whenever possible, avoid irritants that often trigger allergies, such as products made of feathers or down. Use hypoallergenic pillows on your child’s bed, and limit exposure to perfume, talcum powder, hair spray, air fresheners, fabric softeners or other strong odors or sprays. Strong fragrances and odors may aggravate allergy symptoms.

B is for Balance: Maintain a consistent balance in the home to help minimize allergens. Keep the windows shut and use central air conditioning during high pollen seasons to help protect children from pollen particles that trees, grasses and weeds release into the air. These particles can harbor in the eyes, nose, and airways, causing allergy symptoms to flair for those allergic to pollen. Also, give children washable, non-allergenic stuffed toys when possible, and be sure to wash the ones played with the most on a weekly basis, in hot water at least 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

C is for Change: Change items that are easy to neglect but are important for maintaining a healthier home, such as leaky faucets, pipes and other high moisture areas that are common places for mold growth. Don’t neglect their air in the home either. Change your filter every three months, and use a high performance filter, such as a Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M.

Our 5 year old has allergies, dust mites and dogs, eeek! Dusting is not a once a week deal for this house, more like daily, especially since our house is on a busy street. We can't afford to miss a day of dusting. We must do at least a quick wipe down daily. Our 5 year old has to have hypoallergenic bedding that needs to be washed up to twice a week. If we fall behind on any of these things he can break out into a rash.

I haven’t tried the Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M yet, but I do like that it removes 94% of large airborne particles, such as household dust, pollen and mold spores from the air passing through the filter. It also removes up to 40 times more microscopic particles such as smoke, smog and particles that can carry bacteria and viruses, than ordinary fiberglass filters.

My Review:

Looky what Infantino send me...Cloud Shopping Cart Cover. Cute, huh?!?!?!

Use it in shopping carts,

or highchairs.

My thoughts: It is very plush, one size fits all with it's snug elastic, and of course the safety harness is a plus for us moms, it's 4 tabs along the front to hang toys off of is a plus for the kids. It has a zippered clear case to store it in when not in use. Score! I can use all the help I can get in keeping my mom van semi clean.

My concerns: Not many to be honest. I'm not a huge fan of it being white but it does clean up nicely so it is not that big of a deal.

I chose to get the FiberChoice Weight Management in the Sugar Free Strawberry for my review ( thought it would be the best choice since I just had baby "Hotdog"). At first I was a little put off to try them because I had this feeling that they would have this chalky taste ( like tums) to them, they didn't! The taste was not bad at all, pretty decent.

Fiber Choice are chewable but they are big in size (about the size of a quarter) but they are not too bad to take. They are a bit dry, drink some water afterwards and it helps. I have only been taking them for a week now and I look forward to seeing what happens at the end of the 90 count bottle.

I like the fact that they have several choices to chose from, you have a weight management, plus antioxidants, plus calcium +D, and then two flavor varieties of the most fiber; Orange and assorted fruit. The price isn’t too bad either, the 90 count bottle cost me $12.99(ish) on sale. On average they range from $14.99 to $17.99 depending on which store you purchase them and if they are on sale or not.

Baby Hotdog {7 weeks}

Awww, bless this baby!

Baby Hotdog will be 7 weeks old on Thursday, say what?!?!!? How the heck did this happen?

Here is a quick update on baby Hotdog in list form...

1. He gave daddy his first smile on December 27th. Brat!! I joke, kinda!

2. He looks so much like our oldest, "D" and he has a lot of "D"s mannerism when he was a baby too. Like the fact that "Hotdog" makes you work hard for a smile. He is not easily amused by us.

3. He loves to eat and he does it often! I love seeing the rolls starting to show up on his legs. When he was born he had chicken legs.

4. Most nights he only wakes up once, must be all the eating he does during the day or he really LOVES his mama! Okay, maybe a little of both.

5. He loves too coo and talk... especially while he is eating. ( Are we seeing a trend here... eat!)

"Hotdog" is pure perfection and I really can't imagine life without him. We couldn't have asked for a better grand finale for this family.

Sesame Street Video USB: Review

ATP has partnered with Sesame Street to create these adorable USB flash drives that have a different movie on each one, a link to sesamestreet.org, and storage for over 400 photos or mp3 songs! These would be a awesome gifts for the upcoming holidays!

We were sent the Elmo drive to review, and it comes with the movie, The Best of Elmo on it. Each USB drive has a different movie (see below image). They all come with a link to Sesame Street’s website, where you can access free learning materials. You can also use it as a traditional USB drive and store your own files on it.

Each drive is waterproof, dustproof, drop proof, and the video content is protected so it can’t be erased, or-- unlike a DVD-- scraatched or damaged. It also has a cool band that connects the lid to the base of it, so you can't loose the cap!

My two little ones loved watching The Best of Elmo on my laptop. The laid on the living room floor and were quiet while the whole movie played!

Colored Jeans: Revisited

All things early 90's are back now?

I swear teenagers think they invent new trends when in reality it is the same trend with a new name! (My generation when I was in highschool was no different, so this is not a put down to today's teenagers).

Anyways what made me think of this topic is a teenage boy I see when I go pick D up from school. Said teenage boy walks from the local highschool to the bus stop by D's school. I swear this boy has the most colorful closet when it comes to his jeans. Add in the fact that they are super skinny, like even I, who was a size 0 in highschool would not have been able to get my thighs into them!

One day he was wearing red, and I mean RED jeans and he was walking with a girl in bright bumble bee yellow pants. Ronald McDonald must have been so proud!

I am beyond tempted to take a picture of him next time I see him, but I am almost certain he will catch me and I will end up at the local sheriff station for harrassing a teenager!

So, colored jeans? Are they for you?

I would like to take a quick ( very quick) moment to introduce you all to the newest Punky Monkey!!

"Hotdog" ( his blog name) arrived on Veteran's Day, 11-11-2010 at 5:10pm. Weighing in at 8 pounds 6 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long.

He is is pure perfection and all of his brothers adore him!

I am in love!

I was recently lucky enough to receive the Clic It Diaper Bag for review! Perfect timing, right?!?!? This diaper bag is the awesome! It is incredibly functional, convenient and lightweight!

I had baby "Hotdogs" diaper bag all packed until I got this one in the mail. I immediately had to switch to the Clic It bag. The one I was using was still in perfect mint condition, but even empty it is heavy, so you can only imagine how heavy it gets once you had all the stuff a newborn needs!

Everything fit perfectly in the Clic It diaper bag, both for baby "Hotdog" and "M" ( because he still refuses to potty train).
