ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR 2007-08

April-May – 2007 : Conducted 3 week Children Summer Vacation

Theatre Camp (Pancharangi) and puppetry in Dharwad in association with National School of Drama, Bengalooru Branch and staged a Children Play “NANI BHATTANA SWARGADA KANASU”, Written by Gajanana Sharma, Directed by Rajani Garud.

July – 2007 : 2 months workshop on Puppetry, Theatre and Theatre

for Alternative Education for Teachers in Dharwad in association with India Foundation for the Arts, Bengalooru and Nawajbai Ratan Tata Trust, Mumbai.

South Zone Puppetry festival in Dharwad jointly organized by South Zone Cultural Centre Tanjavuru” and Kannada and Cultural Department, Dharwad.

January-

February 2008 : Organised College Theatre Training workshop for

College Students for 3 weeks and also organized 5 days College Theatre Festival “Belagu Yuva Rangotsava – 2008”. In this workshop nearly 100 students of different colleges of Hubli-Dharwad have participated. And stage 12 selected plays written by Jnanapeetha Awardee Dr. D. R. Bendre.

: Puppet House took up developing a compendium of

use of Puppetry to Eradicate Child Labour and importance of Child Education in association with International Labour Organisation, Karnataka Chapter. The compendium contains 4 scripts and puppetry, each of duration 20 minutes and informations on puppetry media. The selected two puppet plays (1) Putta Gouriya Chandamama (2) Gombe Ganeshana Nyaya staged in St. Joseph’s College, Bengalooru organized by ILO, Bengalooru.

March – 2008 : Staged Dr. Sriranga’s Play “ADHIKA MASA” in the festival
Sharanandevari Navu Dharawadakka - 2000, in Dharwad.

ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR 2008-09

April – 2008 : Conducted 3 weeks Puppetry and Theatre workshop

for Economically backward children. Nearly 75 children participated in this workshop and at the end of the workshop 2 plays were staged viz., (1) Chor Charanadas (2) Kappu Kageya Hadu.

May – 2008 : Staged a musical play “VISHAMA VIVAH” in Greeshma Rangotsava at Rangayana Mysore, Organised by Rangayana Mysore.

July – 2008            :         Started 2 months D. Ed. Teachers
                                       Training workshop in Theatre For Alternative Education
                                       “AKSHARA SIRI” at Noolvi village of Hubli Taluk, Dist.
                                       Dharwad. This workshop is a condensed short certificate

2009 Regular workshops are organized at JSS College,Dharwar. In the recent workshop, Shri. Onkar K.R., National School of Drama, New Delhi and directed the play “A Mid Summer Night Dream”, 25 students participated in the workshop. Principal, JSS College,Dharwar is keen to start a short term Theatre Course in the college. This course will probably launched be launched from next academic year. The college management is willing to support the activity.

Nevember-December

2009 To extend D.Ed Teachers training programme in North Karnataka, we selected Gulbarga Government Teachers Training College for women and conducted 30 days art training camp. Gulbarga is backward area. Good rapport of Gombemane with some of art loving community and art groups in Gulbarga has encouraged and enabled us to organize a successful workshop in Gulbarga. The Gulbarga has produced nearly 10 Theatre graduates. As a result of this, few of them worked with us as resource persons. The workshop was also organized in Gulbarga to trained theatre workers of Gulbarga to establish themselves locally. So that, in future they too think of organizing teachers training programs independently.

Participants :- 100 Trainee teachers.

Short term Workshop - We organised puppetry and storytelling workshops in Chalamatti and managundi school. They don’t have basic exposure to creative art. We identify that these village children are more exposed to TV culture. They even do not properly identify basic colors and shapes. The 3 days Puppetry workshops gave basic inputs to develop their skills. They could draw their own sketches and identify proper colors and could narrate the stories.

January-2010 Semi professional activities-

Puppet House team produced a play “Swpna Darshana” which is the part of semi theatre activities. 11 artists worked for one month and rehearsed the play. Abhinaya Bharati a local Amateur theatre group organized the premier show in Dharwad at Srujana Rangamandira.

University of Agricultural Science, Dharwad, College of Rural Home Science

We organized short term puppetry workshop in Rural Home Science College for Women Agriculture University Dharwad second time as a follow up activity. It is a part of their “Development of educational materials for early childhood educational for children with normal and special needs”. Dharwad Agri- University Home Science Department likes to introduce learning puppetry skill as one of their subject in the syllabus. The home science students are also working with children. They have to develop educational material for early childhood education for children with normal and special needs. Our workshop in puppetry gives an ample scope to them to learn more skilled activities considering the puppetry as one of the subject in their syllabus. This is a positive development in art education.

February-2010 JSS College of Dharwad has been organizing 3 week theatre training camp for college students. Every year Puppet House organizes these workshops from since 3 years with support of NRTT and IFA. Puppet House organizes 3 weeks Theatre workshops followed by one play production every year. JSS College introduced 45 days theatre appreciation certificate course in the year 2010. They would like to introduce diploma course in theatre. This is the result of Puppet House’s regular theatre appreciation course conducted in this college with support of NRTT & IFA.

S.J.M.V.S women’s college Hubli is organizing theatre workshop from past two years. Puppet House promotes workshop. 2 workshops are conducted with support of NRTT & IFA. This year too we organised 3 workshops and produced Aristophanes comedy play with girl’s participant of the workshop.

March-April-2010 This year we organized 3 week children Theatre Workshop in Siddapur of Karwar District. 30 children participated in the workshop and at the end of the workshop children staged the play “Dham Dhoom Suntaragali”, Children’s versions of Shakespeare play “Tempest” adopted by Smt. Vaidehi, directed by Ganapti Hegde

May-June-2010 Short term workshop for Teachers

Jamakandi is a taluk place in Bijapur District, 100 Km away from Dharwad. Tungal School is primary school which is practicing non formal way of teaching process. We conducted three days puppetry workshop for teachers at that school. 10 teachers participated in the workshop. Low cost material teaching aid preparation, simple puppet making and theatre games for Pre-primary children were taught during the workshop.

Childrens Summer camp

In association with Kalamandal an established visual art group of Dharwad. We conducted 10 days puppetry workshop for children during summer vacation.

Semi Professional Activities

We did two productions during this period 1)Swapnadarshana- Repeat show with our team. Mainly Ninasam trained actors.

2) With local theatre actors who are working in different department in Dharwad

production - Maduve Album. Written by Girish Karnad directed by Prakash Garud.

Totally 15 actors are participated in both the production. We will repeat these productions in future.

July-Auguest-2010 Teachers Training Programme

During the month of July-Auguest-2010 We conducted long term teachers training programme in Dharwad. This workshop is divided into two parts 1) Directly selecting few teachers who are already employed preferably government teachers 2) selecting a particular school and give training to teachers who are employed there.

September-October Theatre Appreciation course for college students

2010 JSS college of Dharwad started 2^nd batch Theatre Appreciation Training Certificate Course for academic year2010-2011. This is 45 days training course (daily 5 - 6 hours) after the college timing. Our institution conducted the workshop. At the end of the workshop Theory examination will be conducted and a play will be staged as part of practical by the students.

2010 Short term Workshop in Trivendrum

Abhinaya Theatre is organized our workshop in Trivendrum (Kerala). 50 Students are participated in workshop. At the end of the workshop we performed a Puppet play “Gardhabha Manushya Prahasanam”.

December 2010 Short Puppetry workshop with five D.Ed colleges in Dharwad.. 250 D.Ed studendts are participating the workshop.

D.Ed Teachers Training Programme-Long Term

Since the beginning of the project this component training took many shapes and deviations. We started this training by giving training to trained teachers. After first batch it shifted to Ded teachers training who are trainee teachers. From past 2 ½ year we gave training to nearly 350 trainee teachers. We selected directly particular Ded College where teachers are under training and gave training. Amongst them two are government DIET colleges and one private college. (SRJ DED college Noolvi TQ:Hubli) The performance of the Ded trainee teachers as teachers after our art training programme is considerable good in their entire academics. Few of them who just completed the Ded course are also adopting our training in their teaching profession.

10 teachers from different part of Dharwad Taluk are voluntarily came forward to take up the theatre education training. The workshop is conducted after their duty hours. (Everyday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.). The training is given in theatre, puppetry, and craft. At the end of the workshop participants staged “Shandilya Prhasana” a farce play (original Sanskrit ‘Bhagavdajjukiyam’, kannada translation:- K.V.Subbanna)

In the same period we also selected JSS School for teachers training programme. 20 teachers participated in the workshop. They preferred puppetry and craft activities and theatre games during the training. They showed less interest to stage the drama. They would like to have training activities such that they could immediately incorporate them in class room. They thought that this training is only to learn more activities to work with children not as their inner growth as teacher.

We observed that there is possibility of regularizing this training as 3-4 batches in a year as evening course for the teachers who are already employed. The teachers who are participated in the course are expressed this possibility. The government education authority could also experiment this training method to improve Sarvashikshana Abhiyana and Nali-Kali Programme. The teachers who apt for training will expect monitory benefits like TA, DA and scholarship. This training has one more possible way of introducing art training programme for teachers.

The shift and deviation that took in our art training programme for teachers.

A. (2007-2008) Art training to - Teachers (DEd,BEd,Med teachers)who are completed teachers training course, either employed or unemployed teachers (normally employed teachers will not come forward to take up this training if it is full time) Participants has to commit for full day training (Morning 10 am to evening 6.00p.m) They are paid scholarship (1500/-pm) and one time travelling allowance.2 month training and 1½ month interactive programme with one or two production.

Result : -Partly successful. Teachers are not committed for long term training and interactive programme. It is difficult to hold on their regular attendance. We cannot restrict age group if we restrict we will not get the sufficient number of participants. Even then we are paying scholarship the participation strength will be very low. We could expect maximum 10-15 teachers per batch.

B. 2008-2009 Art training to - Conducting the workshop for the Ded trainee teachers directly in particular Ded colleges.

In the second modification of our Art education training programme we selected directly Ded colleges and gave training to trainee teachers. This process has opened up the possibilities of scale up number of trainees. This training also gave thought of introducing art training programme in Ded colleges as regular course along with their academics. We gave training maximum number of trainee teachers in this method (nearly350).

C. 2010-2011 Art training –

a) Conducting workshops for the teachers who are already employed as evening course.

b) Selecting the particular school and give training to the employed teachers of that school.

In both these type we cannot restrict age group of the participants. The age group vary from 25 to 45. The course has to conduct in evening. This method will help the teachers commit for one month. Since it is evening course and the attendance of the teachers will be regular.

The common attitude of the teachers is that they want to learn more activities and skills through art training rather than looking at the teaching profession in new way. Most of the art training programmes is giving much stress to do more skill based activities.

Tungal School is unique in many ways. It is trying to develop alternative method in teaching. The building structure is also gives cozy feeling. We could see rarely such schools in North Karnataka.

B. Semi Professional Theatre Activity

We did two productions during this period 1)Swapnadarshana- Repeat show with our team. Mainly Ninasam trained actors.

2) With local theatre actors who are working in different department in Dharwad

production - Maduve Album. Written by Girish Karnad directed by Prakash Garud.

Totally 15 actors are participated in both the production. We will repeat these productions in future.

C. College Theatre Activities

The development of certificate course in theatre by the JSS College is the impact of the regular theatre workshop in that college from past five years by our team. This is also impact of NRTT and IFA supported theatre education activities at that college.

This year we selected Dr.Girish karnads famous play Tughulak as a part of practical study. Nearly 20 students participated in the course. Two shows are already given. The theory examination in theatre will be conducted during the month of October-2010. This workshop also supported us in raising some amount as institutional contribution. We are happy to say that this certificate course is first of its kind in North Karnataka which is the impact of the Theatre education project supported by NRTT and IFA.

D. Children Theatre Workshop Summer camp

In association with Kalamandal an established visual art group of Dharwad. We conducted 10 days puppetry workshop for children during summer vacation. Kalamandala headed by national fame visual artist Madhu Desai and Gayatri Desai. They conduct painting camp for children every year at Dharwad. As extension of their workshop they introduced puppetry training for the children. It is collaborative work with visual art and puppetry. Nearly 15 students are participated in the workshop and children are also took nearby Tibetian camp (Mundagod- 40 km away from Dharwad) to expose them to other culture and Art.At the end of the workshop we organize the children painting exhibition and puppetry performance.

Conclusion

We tried to do more activities during this period. Almost all activities of the project are about to complete. (College theatre, Ded Teachers training and short workshops).

We stretched our activities in the few parts of the North Karnataka (Gulburga, Jamakhandi and Siddapur).We faced difficulty in executing the workshops with Ded teachers College students because of CET exams and Semester system. We still could continue to do targeted workshops. Government colleges could provide us rehearsal space and 3-4 hours duration to conduct workshop. Private Ded colleges have yet to accept the importance of the art education training for the students. As we have written in our Narrative report we could intervene in three ways to introduce art education for the teachers. (See 5-6 page numbers)

As per our work plan we could able to do one more college theatre workshop and two more long term teachers training programme.

In coming six month remaining project duration we will concentrate more on semi profession theatre activities.

“Puppet House” is a practicing centre for both Theatre and Puppetry founded in 1996 by Dr. Prakash Garud and Rajani Garud with like minded people of theatre in Dharwad. It is the place where all the Puppet House activities were functioning. .

Puppet House is regularly conducting Children Theatre Workshop by introducing puppetry in children theatre camps, which gave wide scope for children theatre. It is our initial step to enhance puppet theatre and expand its scope, which was a neglected form till today. ‘Puppet House’ fortified with the knowledge and experience gained out of theory and practical studies in the field of Leather Shadow Puppet Theatre, is going ahead with purpose of rejuvenating and making the puppet theatre relevant to the contemporary theatre forms. The task of bringing rural folk arts like Puppet Theatre out of museum to the people stage involves moulding of that rural folk art forms to grow to their deserving heights Puppet House is dedicated to strive to make this dream work a reality.

The core groups of Puppet House are trained in theatre basically. Since the troupe inception has done several drama and puppet play productions, workshops with adult and as well as with children in Dharwad and other part of the sate, conducting the workshop with teachers to develop alternate way of teaching through theatre and puppetry media. To create theatre appreciation among youths Puppet House conducting regularly theatre workshops for college students.

In the name of Late Sadashivarao Garud the Legend of Kannada Professional Theatre Puppet House started “Sadashiva Natya Sangh” to revive company dramas (Sangeeta Nataka) with contemporary actors. The unit Sadashiva Natya Sangh is also produces contemporary plays. Puppet House collected more than 100 Natya Sangeeta poems of Kannada Professional drama theatres, preferably North Karnataka region. It produced Garud Sadashivaro’s Sangeeta Nataka “Vishama Vivah”.

Puppet House is a “Centre for Theatre and Puppetry”. It undertook some projects like collaborative art project through which developing the Leather Shadow Puppetry for the contemporary audience especially for children. The collaboration took between contemporary theatre artists, visual artists, traditional leather puppeteers, children playwright, musicians, and children. The project has been supported by India Foundation For The Arts, Bengalooru, in the year 1997-1998 again in 1999-2000 to disseminate contemporary leather shadow puppet play. PUPPETRY :

Puppet House has given nearly 500 shows of contemporary Leather Shadow Puppet Plays and 100 shows of its contemporary play productions.

A puppetry compendium published in Kannada “Matadu Matadu Gombmeye” (Speak ! ‘O’ Puppet ! Speak !) with the support of International Labour Oranisation.

THEATRE FOR EDUCATION :

Puppet House is making intervention in D. Ed Teachers Training programme through theatre and puppetry. This training programme is to train the D. Ed., teachers in art related field emphasis will be given to explore use the strength of theatre and puppetry media in creative teaching. A ample experiments are going on to improve the teaching efficiency of Primary School Teachers Training in the composite art like theatre will be the best media to improve the efficiency of teachers. The basic objective is also to create theatre appreciation among primary school teachers, so that at primary level itself, children could develop aptitude and creativity through theatre.

Theatre training for teachers will help the teachers to develop communication skill questioning and enacting the part, critical thinking, community living, language development and improvising the situation and aptitude for music and craft. The theatre activity will get momentum in rural areas, because D. Ed passed out teachers will mostly get jobs in rural primary schools. In the NSERT syllabus of D. Ed teachers training programme theatre, music, craft, puppetry training has been included. But, most of the D.Ed., colleges are not given much importance for above said training. Puppet House would like to take up that task and do the training in art related subjects for D.Ed., students.

Introducing 1½ months Theatre For Education Training Programme for D. Ed., Students :

In Karnataka nearly 1000 Aided and Unaided D. Ed. Colleges conducting 2 year Teachers Training Course. Every year nearly 40-50 thousand students will get the D. Ed degree. The teachers who will get the Government Job will recruited in village government schools. Puppet House strongly suggest to introduce atleast 1½ months “Theatre For Education” Training to every D. Ed., First year students to enhance their teaching ability and also develop Theatre Appreciation among children.

TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR D.Ed. TEACHERS :

(1) We conducted 1 month - 2 month and 3½ month Theatre and Puppetry Training programme for D. Ed First year students. (2) College has to provide working place and minimum 25 students and maximum of 50 students for each batch. (3) Daily 3 hours has to be spare for this workshop. (4) Activities like Theatre appreciation, theatre games, poetry appreciation, craft, music, and story telling, puppetry and creative teaching process, alternative teaching, environment awareness, children play writing, street play, painting will be carried out in this workshop. (5) One play and one puppet play will be produce during end of the workshop. (6) As interactive programme the trained teachers will give performance in different schools and D. Ed colleges nearby. (7) The D. Ed teachers who will complete the Theatre for Education training and would like to do theatre activities in schools will be encouraged by the puppet house. They will be given technical suggestions and explore the financial assistance. (8) The D.Ed teachers who have completed the Theatre For Education course will be involved in nearby children theatre summer vacation training camps as associate or production director depending upon their ability.

THEATRE FOR EDUCATION :

SHORT WORKSHOP WITH TEACHERS AND CHILDREN

(1) The duration of the workshop will be 3 days to one week. (2) This workshop is to give basic orientation about Theatre and Puppetry for Teachers and Children and look at teaching process in alternative and creative way. (3) This is full time (3 to 1 week) workshop. (4) This workshop aims at exploring the Theatre media and Puppetry media for creative teaching process.(5) The workshop also discusses various new experiments in creative way of learning and teaching. (6) The workshop mainly aims at involving primary and secondary school teachers. (7) The workshop conducts story telling, language development through theatre. (8) This workshop is to discuss with teachers about relation between puppetry theatre and education. (9) The workshop also gives basic training to the teachers in making the simple teaching aid with low cost material.(10) The workshop also discusses with teacher about children literature, children plays and play writing.

BELAGU COLLEGE THEATRE WORKSHOP :

(1) To develop basic appreciation in youths about theatre. (2) To create platform to exhibit histrionic talents among youths. (3) To develop theatre as regular activity in college level. (4) To develop theatre criticism play writing among youths.

In general, in the colleges the dramas are taught as only literature. The relation between performance and text are not considered for discussion. So, the dramas are remained only as text or as literature. Students are learning the dramas as literature only or only to score marks for it as additional subject. Elements of performance, elements of drama are not taught in colleges. Hence, it is necessary to create atmosphere in the colleges by conducting the Theatre Appreciation Workshop.

• The general 3 days theatre appreciation workshop will be for all the interested students.

• Followed by the 3 weeks workshop will be for selected 20-25 students.

• Every day minimum 3 to 4 hours has to be spare for the rehearsals by the college for selected students.

• College has to provide working place.

• Voluntary financial contribution for the production will be appreciated. It is to encourage the theatre activities in colleges.

• Selected students are to be paid entry fees, it will be decided in consultation with the college authorities.

• The main objective of the college theatre workshop is to try out possibilities of introducing drama as one of the subject in colleges and practically executing the theatre activities in colleges.

• Depending upon number of college participation, Puppet House holds Belagu Yuva Rangotsava every year.

CHILDREN THEATRE WORKSHOP :

A. Summer Vacation Camp

• To develop theatre appreciation and enhance creativity among children, we conduct Summer Vacation Theatre Camp for children every year.

• Children between age group of 7 to 11 will participate in this camp for 3 weeks.

• Children will spend their summer vacation meaningfully, interacting with various art forms and express themselves freely.

• Small skits, plays will be staged by the children at the end of the workshop.

• Theatre games, craft, mask and puppet making, story telling etc., will be taught in the workshop by the method of self expression.

• Folk art forms will be introduced to the children.

• Children will interact with poets, dramatists, children playwrights, environmental and other noted persons during the workshop.

B. Short Term Workshops for Children

• To create appreciation for Theatre we conduct short term workshop say 3 days to one week for children during their academic days. This is to make an intervention through art during their academic study days and make their classroom study more enjoyable.

• The workshop also concentrates on to develop communication skills, language development among children.

SEMI PROFESSIONAL: THEATRE ACTIVITIES:

To bring repertory discipline with the amateur theatre artists we have taken up semi professional theatre activities in Dharwad. The objective of this activity is to bring professionalism in amateur theatre artists. Amateur theatre artists will be working in different fields and having aptitude for theatre such artists will work as part time theatre activists.

In Semi professional theatre activities we will try to bring professionalism of repertory theatre in amateur theatre activities. Yearly we produce 2 plays and give at least 25 shows in a year.

• The team will consist of 15 member artists.

• The artists will be paid equal remuneration per shows.

• Yearly 2 to 3 productions will be done with them.

• If possible 1 puppet production will also be done with them.

Garud family is known for its contribution to the professional theatre (Sangeeta Nataka) in Karnataka. Sadashivarao Garud (1882-1954) was ardent practitioner of “Sangeeta Nataka”. He was a playwright, actor and director. Through his company “Sri Dattatreya Natya Sangh” he traveled all over Karnataka during the period 1910 to 1942 and gave thousands of play performances. His plays raised voice against British Rule. Theatre acting for him was not just entertaining the audience for him, it also educative and create social awareness among people. Prakash Garud is the third generation of this theatre family.

Garud couple took basic training in contemporary theatre from NINASAM theatre institute. They worked in various fields of theatre. Along with theatre, they also worked in the field of puppetry specially ‘Leather Shadow Puppetry’ of Karnataka. With his team, they worked collaboratively with stage artists, visual artists, children script writer, traditional puppeteers and evolved contemporary ‘Leather Shadow Puppet Repertory’ company called “Chayachalane”. The project was funded by India Foundation For The Arts, Bengalooru in 1996. With that “Puppet House” started to work in both theatre and puppetry field. Rajani Garud incorporated theatre and puppetry media in primary education and established an alternative school called “Balabalaga” in Dharwad in 1996.

Theatre Actor, Director and Puppeteer

Prakash Garud a Theatre Director is coming from Theatre artist family. His Grand Father Shri Sadashivraya Garud, his father Shri. Sripadraya are all theatre artists and they are all Actors, Playwright and Directors. They built a theatre company of their own and they gave many dramas performances all over Karnataka. Prakash Garud completed his B.Sc. degree and then he did his Diploma in Theatre at NINASAM. He completed his Post Graduation course in Theatre at Madhurai Kamaraj University. He also got Doctorate in Theatre. He took a research work in Puppet making and finally evolved a special shadow puppet repertory company and named it as a CHAYACHALANE. He performed a shadow puppet show throughout Karnataka. He and his wife Mrs. Rajani Prakash Garud are the founders of PUPPET HOUSE (Gombe Mane). With this Puppet House they engaged in puppet performance activities. With the help of puppet showing activities they engaged in Alternative Education in Education field. They are the founder members of BALABALAGA SRUJANASHEELA SHIKSHNA TRUST also. He directed the dramas like Hamlet Othelo, Shudra Tapaswi, Smashana Kurukshetra, Haddina Kannu, Anjumallige.

The Central Government recognized his activities in Theatre and gave Cultural Senior Fellowship to Dr. Prakash Garud. The India Foundation For The Arts Bangalore and Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust, Mumbai are giving a financial support to Dr. Prakash Garud for his excellent contribution in Theatre and Puppet Showing activities.

Smt Rajani Garud is from a village Kerekai, Tq. Sirsi of North Canara (Karnataka). She completed her degree in Theatre education at NINASAM. She settled at Dharwad and she is founder of BALABALAGA SRUJANASHEELA SHIKSHANA TRUST in 1996. She is engaging in alternative educational activities and Theatre for Education.

She is founder member of Puppet House (Gombe Mane) and she is expert in puppets making. She directed the children dramas and puppet shows. She worked in NINASAM’S TIRUGATA DRAMA repertory as a Actor. She also conducted many children theatre camps to many children plays.

She acted as a main actor in dramas like Tughlak, Cherri Orchard, Good Woman of Sejuvan, Othelo, Hamlet, Bettele Vesha, Helthini Kela Geleya, Vishama Vivaha, Anjumallige etc.

She also directed the children plays like Pushparani, Bettappana Kanasu, Beppu Takkadi Bole Shankara, Hakki Hadu, Kempu Hoo, Angula Huluvina Parakaya Pravesha, Putta Gouriya Chandamama etc. She worked as Puppet Designer and Puppet Script writer for issues like Child Labour Eradication.
