I'm in LOVE with modern, over-sized, high back wing chairs - they are so dramatic and fun! Several weeks ago I spotted one with a script alphabet fabric at T.J. Maxx, then a few days later I noticed a similar chair in NBC's Revenge. Then I found a few more... I would love to see this "Loren" chair from Vielle and Frances covered in one of my fabrics OR maybe I will create a new fabric with some sort of script! Better yet, I may even design my own high back wing chair!

I ran across a new website that I LOVE - It is called livingreen - They sell products for a healthier lifestyle. I love finding new eco-friendly sources! While browsing the store I came across eco-dough - it is made with natural extracts. It has such great natural colors - it's the perfect Spring gift. I wish I new about it years ago - When my son was 2 or so, I plopped a handful of play dough (store bought not homemade) in front of him at the table. I turned around and when I turned back he had eaten a big hunk out of it. I failed to tell him it wasn't food :)

I'm going on vacation!!! We will be driving to New Orleans then cruising to Progreso and Cozumel Mexico! I'm very excited to get away, but also very busy... Happy Spring Colors!

Spring has sprung in Minnesota (for now anyway) - We have been in the 70s for over a week and the trees have little leafs and the grass in getting green. We even had a thunder storm last night. Many of you may not realize that this is VERY unusual in Minnesota. We would normally have 40s and snow this time of year, so wearing tank tops and flip flops this early is a gift! I'm in a Spring mood and I LOVE color! I'm also a fan of Design Seeds, which is full of color inspiration. Here are some beautiful Spring color palettes by Design Seeds.

I love things made with recycled magazine - I blogged about it before here, so I came across BluReco in the Recycled-Market, I had to share. The technique is call paper wicker - the paper is from discontinued catalogs. You would think they would be disposable because it is made from paper, but a clear glossy coat is applied to the finished product so they can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The texture and colors are so beautiful, and the workmanship is AMAZING!

The other day I received an email from moss Design. They told me about their beautiful tables made from reclaimed wood. I LOVE anything made with reclaimed wood, but the table bases really caught my eye. The steel bases turn the reclaimed wood into true pieces of art. They are substantial, unique, and oh so perfect!!! Happy March everyone! I'm thinking of Spring - I know here in Minnesota we have a while to wait, but I can feel it coming! With flowers on my mind, I came across the Italian company 13 ricrea - I believe recrea in Italian is "recreate". I literally gasped when I saw the furniture. All their product are made from recycled latex and other upcycled materials. The designs look fresh and SO BEAUTIFUL like fragrant petals! Let's hope for an early Spring - I'm ready!!

Actual printed photos { Friday FUN }

I love my digital camera - I love editing and using my photos online, but I miss actual printed photos. I know, I can print them, but it is not the same... Remember dropping off your film and waiting for it to be developed? The excitement of picking them up and looking through them as soon as you got into you car. Okay, most of the photos were not great, but you could easily add them to your photo albums and look through them anytime. Now everything is on our computers, phones, and cameras. I rarely sit in front of my computer looking through family photos, but put an actual album in my hand and I LOVE it. Somehow the ease of digital photography has made it more work to print and enjoy our photos. A digital camera allows us to take a TON of photos - why not, we don't have to pay for the film any more. So in order to even considering printing out a photo, I have to look through every photo, and of course edit each one to make them as perfect as possible. This is a lot of work and overwhelming because of the number of years I've been using a digital camera. Anyway, today I was browsing Pinterest and found some great, simple ways to display photos - no frames or perfection, just simple snapshots. I'm going to make it a point to start printing some photos so I can reminisce outside of my computer...

A single white Chinese Chippendale chare looks perfect against the ornate, vibrante curtains in this vignette. I love the subtle bit of blue piping on the curtains as well.

This delightful patio has a wonderfully exotic air with white bamboo railings and chairs. The pale pink has just a slight tropical flair that is very relaxing.

A bright key lime green helps these bamboo Chippendale chairs really pop against the dark brown shelves. Even the sparkling pendant light above have a slight green tint.

This charming living room features a fun assortment of patterns. From the zigzag pattern on the floor to the floral pillows, the room is fresh and lively. Bamboo chairs and sofas join an eclectic mix of furnishings.

The pink and green color of this girl's bedroom is so fresh and unexpected. The bamboo cupboard with pagoda details on top is especially whimsical and sweet.

A lovely combination of Asian style and Hollywood Regency results in a very chic, glamorous room. The golden bamboo table picks up on the brilliant sunburst mirror. Even the wallpaper has a bamboo pattern.

Here is a sneak peek of my PURE Elements Collection! There are a bunch more color combinations, which I will reveal later. This new collection is not printed yet, but it will be in a month or so. I'm so excited because the PURE Elements Collection will be printed with reactive dyes, which means:

Color is rich and deep
NO fading when machine washed
Can be used on heavy use upholstery

I will have more exciting news to share in the coming weeks - I have a feeling that this will be the best year yet!!
