Mary Murphy has been one of the mainstays of SYTYCD, so it’s interesting to hear her thoughts about this upcoming season and her experience over the past 10 years (although she wasn’t on all 10 seasons). She’s right that the 10 seasons have passed so quickly. I haven’t seen the numbers for SYTYCD season 10 yet, but I hope they’re doing well so we get a SYTYCD 11.

Those of us on the west coast are still waiting for the second night of the SYTYCD 2013 premiere to start. However, many on the east coast are already itching to talk about the music from tonight’s episode of SYTYCD season 10. So, I thought I’d start a thread for people to leave a list of the music they know from tonight’s episode of SYTYCD.

Pretty amazing that he’s gone from not even making SYTYCD Vegas week, to being on the show, to being a SYTYCD All Star and now a SYTYCD judge. Plus, it seems that the world can’t get enough of tWitch. Plus, how great that him and Allison Holker are together!

So You Think You Can Dance 2013 Premiere Music

As most of you know, we’ve always done our best here at Pure SYTYCD to list all of the various music that’s used on SYTYCD. Unfortunately, all of us are quite busy with the day jobs and so we won’t be able to be nearly as good at listing the music on SYTYCD this year as we have done in the past. That is unless someone wants to volunteer to help us out (Drop me a note here if you’re interested).

With that said, that doesn’t mean that readers of this site can’t help each other out. In fact, in the past the community has been an excellent support in helping us all learn the various music learned on SYTYCD. So, for SYTYCD 2013 we’re asking you to help in the comments. If you know the music that was used on the show, then please share so that others can find the music. I’ll do my best to add it to the post when a song is confirmed as well.

With that bit of business aside, I have to say that this might have been one of the best SYTYCD premiere’s I’ve seen in the 9 seasons I’ve been watching SYTYCD. Some really extraordinary dancing. Some funny comments. Some amazing stories. I watch for all of those things and the So You Think You Can Dance 2013 premiere had all three.

SYTYCD 2013 Science of Dance Video

As if all of you weren’t already excited for the premiere of the 10th season of So You Think You Can Dance, this video is going to pump all of you up. Nerds and dancers alike are going to love it. It’s called The Science of Dance and does an amazing job illustrating the beauty and technique of so many dancers. I can assure you that you won’t be able to watch this video just once. Enjoy!

Which Contemporary Choreographer Do You Like Better? Mia or Travis

I recently asked people on Twitter which choreographer they were most excited to see come back. I’ll probably do a future post with the various answers. Although, I was struck by the number of people who said Travis Wall. After seeing so many responses, I wanted to see if Travis Wall was liked more than Mia Michaels when it comes to contemporary choreography. You can vote below (and be sure to share it on Twitter so we can get more people involved the voting).

I’ll plan to share the results at a later date. This should be interesting.
