Who is our next VS runway star?

Last year we saw two Aussie Angels, Miranda Kerr and Shanina Shaik, appear on the Victorias Secret Runway. Many current Australian Models have graced the catalogs of the lingerie giant including Miranda Kerr, Shanina Shaik, Jessica Hart, Elyse Taylor, Abbey Lee, Pania Rose, Sarah Stevens, Nicole Trunfio, Catherine McNeil, Jessica Gomes, and Victoria Lee. The only Australian models to appear on the runway have been Miranda Kerr, Elyse Taylor, Sarah Stevens, Abbey Lee, and Shanina Shaik.

The last time Elyse Taylor walked the show was a few years ago, when Miranda was pregnant. In the last few years she has attended their castings, but unfortunately has failed to make it past call backs. She has been one of VS's most popular faces this year, as she is the current face of the 'Love is Heavenly' fragrance. She has also featured quite a lot in their swim collection. I am not sure we will ever see her as one of the official angels, mainly due to the fact their are far too many blondes already in the line up. To be completely honest, I am sure the average person would not be able to tell the difference between Candice, Erin, Lindsay, and new face Toni. I think this is also the case with Jessica Hart. I don't think she will ever be an 'angel' due to the other blondes in the line up. I am not sure she will even appear in VSFS, maybe in the PINK section. I am a really big fan of her and her modeling print work, but I don't really consider her a runway model. But you never know what the casting directors are looking for, perhaps will see appearance from our blonde top models.

I would love to Shanina back this year as well, but I am not sure that will happen. She has been shooting the catalog from the start of 2012, and has been doing a great job. But found her appearance last year a bit of a circus, and thought her then ex-boyfriend used her massive booking to put his name back in the media. It should have been about her. I also think she blew far too many kisses during her walk, I think if she took away that, she did a very good job. But it wouldn't matter if she didn't return, the show last year has made her career explode, she has supposedly shot with Vogue Italia and Vogue India in recent times. Hopefully her Vogue work is released soon.

It will interesting towards the end of the year to see who will make the cut.

Jasmine is one of my favourite top models at the moment. She is extremely versatile and can do anything from commercial to high fashion. I really think that she should be the next Victoria's Secret Angel, she should really have an angel contract by now, hurry up VS! I really hope she pops up at the show this year, that would be amazing. Last year she was unable to do the show as she was at the Versace for H&M show. This is her latest shot for Topshop, hopefully we see more.

This is the latest ad campaign by popular fashion label, Kookai. The theme of the campaign is "Hotel Particulier...somewhere in Paris". It was shot by the amazing Jaclyn Adams, who has also shot for the likes of Helmet Magazine, previous Kookai campaigns, Fashion Trend Magazine, and many more. I think overall the campaign looks really luxurious and expensive, its a real credit to the stylists and Kookai's creative people whose ideas made this campaign have a great feel. On their site they say its "inspired by the true story of a young couples' trip to Paris, their unconventional stay in a unique hotel, strong friendships and the realisation of their true passion and future—the iconic Australian young women's fashion brand Kookai". Kookai always release really good campaigns, so it is a real credit to them. I think they have done really well in making the models look 'Parisian chic'. If you are interested in their stuff, they stock all around Australia and New Zealand.

If you can recall, back when all the VS Angels were pregnant, the media came out saying Jess was going to be the next Angel. She then stopped working for them for a bit, which was a little disappointing. In 2012 and late 2011, she commenced work with them again appearing in the catalogue for VS Pink. Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) 2012: Top 10 Girls to Watch Out For

With MBFWA fast approaching, I had a look at all the major agencies in Sydney's sites, and made a list of the models who everyone needs to look out for. The original list had 20 girls, but here is the final 10.

1) Montana Cox (Chic)

Montana spent F/W 2013 shows dominating the catwalks of Paris and Milan. She walked for the likes of Bottega Veneta, Christian Dior, Chanel, Mugler, Pucci, and many more. I think it is pretty clear that she will dominate the shows on the Australia catwalks. With a strong walk, high profile, and versatile face, expect her to do well.

2) Jemma Baines (Chic)

Jemma made an impressive appearance at Marc Jacobs this year. She has done Australian fashion week before having walked Dion Lee, Zimmermann, Kirrily Johnston, and many more before. She has also recently appeared on the cover for Singapore L'Officiel.

3) MJ (Viviens)

She is another Aussie who has done very well for herself during last fashion week overseas. Having walked Jeremy Scott, Marios Schwab, Rocco Barocco, Louise Gray, Rodarte and many more.

4) Ella Drake (Chic)

The industry has experienced a New Zealand invasion in recent years. Ella worked for like likes of Gucci, DSquared, and Robert Cavalli in the past.

5) Olivia Thornton (Viviens)

Olivia made her debut in New York in February on the international stage. She also made an appearance at Mugler. Olivia has a versatile look, and I expect her to book a lot of shows during the week.

6) Brigette Thomas (Chadwicks)

Brigette was the winner of New Zealand's Next Top Model. She hasn't made her international debut yet, but has created interest from NEXT and Ford. I think she has a lot of potential, and it won't be long until we see her dominating the runway.

7) Claire Collins (Chadwicks)

Claire walked in the Chanel Couture show last year, her work has been quiet recently, but I expect that soon to change. I think she will have a great 2012, and can't wait to see what she will book this year.

8) Kailiah Ng (Chic)

Kailiah is absolutely gorgeous. She is the perfect girl for MBFWA as she has a lot of commercial appeal. She definitely make very good bookings during the week and this year. She should even try giving Victoria's Secret a go.

9) Kalia Hart (Chic)

Kalia is one of the most unique looking models currently in Australia. I love the freckles, they give her that unique edge.

10) Caroline Austin (Chic)

Caroline has a strong look. She definitely has the capability to look fierce on the runway
