On Sunday after going to lunch with my partner and her parents, we went over to watch a special at her parents from 20/20 about WINNING - Young Millionaires, Failures before they Succeeding & Getting Rich in America that was TIVO'd . One of the parts was about a couple of people who failed, failed and failed before they finally Succeeded in their Business.

One particular person, Jake Burton story really hit home with me. He was in a snowboard business and he kept trying to sell his snowboards and nobody wanted them. He thought all he needed to do was sell them. So after practically getting himself into debt and going into depression he thought long and hard about what he needed to do and made a life changing decision. He started THINKING about Snowboarding instead of trying to sell them. That made a lot of sense to me and it made me wonder how I was pursuing my own Travel Business. I feel like I have thought more of the Travel aspect of my Business and I am taking the right route to make myself succeed...well, my partner and I together.

The second failure, she was fun, her name is Sara Blakely, who invented SPANX.
She had failed at a lot things. When she was young, she wanted to be like her father, a trial attorney and she failed the LSAT. Then, she decided to sell Fax machines to Businesses and completely failed at it. But she was taught when she was growing up that if she wasn't failing, then she wasn't trying. Another thing, about her interview that I enjoyed and had never considered while I fail at my own ventures is, that Failure is a way of letting life let you know you're off course. That also hit me hard.

I always thought I was doing something wrong or not doing enough of something. Every Business I have done I have learned something from, so maybe I am just setting myself up for Success. And Succeeding does just take time, patience and persistence and then it will happen. :)

New Blog Makeover

In the next couple of weeks I will be moving my Blog to Wordpress and will be changing to a cut line template.

I think I write a pretty decent Blog and would like more Exposure, so before I get more exposure to my Blog, I would like to give it a makeover. With all the great tips in the Blogging World, I would like to maximize my Blog and use it to its fullest potential.

I am still working on my Travel Blog slowly.

Anyway, so keep a lookout for the new layout and style. ;)

1. How long have you been Blogging?

Hmm, well, my earliest Blog, was way before it had been called a 'Blog' with what was then called an online journal, back in 2000? My more 'Official' blog began in 2005, when I had been doing GPT's (Get Paid to's) a more personal one began in 2004 on Blogger.

2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?

What inspired me to start a Blog, is being able to express myself. Although after learning the true power of a Blog and my passion for Home Business, I had began doing Business Blogs for my Network Marketing company I had been with.

3. Are you trying to make money online, or are you just doing it for fun?
Hmm, yes I am. I mostly do all of my Business off line via telephone, but I do gain Leads online through my Lead capture page and I am looking to build a more passive income online with my Travel Booking site.

4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE being Online?

The ABILITY to Make Money Online.

The ABILITY to Express ones self.

The information you get at your finger tips if you just Google it, or in my case Blingo it :D

5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE with in the online world?

FOCUS - There are so many opportunities and things to do online, it can really easily set you off track from your main goal.

Working with Leads

Whether self-generated or purchased there are always some things you need to keep in mind to get the most out of your Leads:

1) Contact your Leads AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Because if you do not, in time they can lose interest, sign-up with someone else or change their mind.

2) DO NOT sell them on the first phone call! The first phone call to your lead is about building rapport, getting to know them and seeing if this is something that they could do or want to do. Once you gain interest you will schedule an appointment to do the Presentation.

3) After you have done the Presentation with the prospect, they will need time to think about it. You will then need to follow up in a couple of days and close.

4) Once you close, Welcome your new Team Member and then send them the necessary information to get started immediately! :)

The key to Success is Consistency and in the Follow-up. :)

Well to further my studies on how to have a Successful Blog and how and what techniques I would like to implement in doing so...I came across an interesting and paid courses to take to become a Successful Blogger.

The first one is called SixFigureBlogging.com - It is a Self-Study Course that will show you how to make money with your Blog. The Course is $325.00. Not that bad for all the information it looks like you will be getting. Of course, like it says it is an Investment and you will need to work. I found this on Problogger.net. I must admit, I am interested in the course but...I will get into detail on that in a minute.

The next item, I discovered on Entrepreneurs-journey.com, is actually his own Mastermind Group for Blogging. Its a service, $77 a month and this Pro will show you what it takes to make money Blogging. I am also interested in this also, but like I said I will get into it in a minute as is to why I will not be signing up at this time. The website, BTW is BlogMastermind.com

Ok Ready?

The reason why I won't be joining and as great as they both look and how much I want to just go for it, there is plenty of FREE information right now on the internet on how to be a Successful Blogger and I want to soak up all that information and implement it before I take it a step further. My goal yes, is to get travel bookings from my Travel Blog but at the same time, I know that will take time and so in the mean time I need to find other ways to make money booking Travel and also building my Team.

Although, if anyone is interested, check them out...I would do them!

Well tonight we printed off some Business cards for the Travel Business and I printed off a few also for my Jerky Business.

Then I decided to place an Ad in the paper, which will be coming out next week.

I admit, and I hate to admit it...but I think I am just scared to death of Succeeding. Sometimes I think is this really all I want for myself? Its REALLY NOT. I read it a lot from other Business owners and articles and such online but you need to take your mind set out of the "Consumer" and put it into the "Merchant" type mind set, or you will be forever waiting on that paycheck every week WISHING you were doing what you WANT be doing. I must have read almost every peice of self-help, marketing, business book on the Subject of being a Business owner. I KNOW what it takes. All these years with multiple businesses and some doing well and others not, I know I can do this full time. Yet, I always hold back.

Whenever I try not to think about it and I watch movies, I still get the same message..."Go after your Dreams" . On Thursday night I watched "Baby Boom" , I love that movie. An 80's movie. Anyway its about a Corporate Yuppie (woman) who inherits her deceased cousin's daughter and it turns her whole world upside and then the Corporate world shuns her because she is no longer the hard baller that she used to be...and in the Corporate world, may I remind you, your ONLY importance is to make sure that the Company makes money....not your Family, not your time, etc...anyway so she decides to quit after her understudy gets her position and moves to the country with the baby (named Elizabeth BTW ) and soon runs low on the money and decides to make gourmet baby food with the millions of fruit that she has on her acres...well at first, everyone tells her no...being any kind of Business or Sales person, we all love hearing the NO word ...well, finally people start seeing how great this baby food is, everyone buys it and she soon needs employees and opens up a factory and she hits the newspapers etc...yada yada....ANYWAY the same company who shunned her wants to BUY her out LOL! ...Of course they don't....but the point is...she followed her dreams and made it happen, when everyone else told her NO...again love the word : P

Then we watch Last Holiday, that was a cute movie too....A chick finds out she is dying and decides what the hell and quits her crappy job and pursues everything in her life she has always wanted to pursue. Of course in the end they say she isn't going to die after all...but that is beside the point.

Yes, they are only movies but #1, they provide good messages regarding life and #2, there are real life scenarios like it.

Tips: 1) Never listen to the naysayers in your life 2) Follow your Dreams

Domain Hell

Well I had a business domain, that I forgot had expired. So then, I decide to transfer it to my favorite domain site. Yahoo! But because I forgot the domain had already expired I had contacted Yahoo! and they said that Register.com owns the domain till 2008, so I cancel the domain order for Yahoo! and wait till I have time to renew the domain again through Register.com.

Well today, I go to renew the domain and someone had already purchased it. Which you have no idea how this screws me up because it was my host domain and my host domain has been down since the domain expired. So now I no longer have that domain and I am fine with it as I do own 8 other domains that I currently use. My old Host DayanaHost.com, is expiring in March 2008 so I am just going to go ahead and NOT renew. I already have a new Host that lets me have unlimited of addons, subdomains, etc...and I will be setting up my Projects with my domains so I can have those sites up. One of my Projects is a training site for my Team, it will be a generic training site because I am in more than one business, a website for those interested in working from home (non-business related per se), my own personal site, plus I maybe moving my Blog to WordPress.

I have MANY sites. I LOVE my sites. I would like to build more, eventually I would like one more Professional made, because well I am a simple HTML girl and I like using templates with simple HTML when I build my sites. But at the moment, I am happy with what I build and if I would like to build my Web Design skill I can always do that as well.

TIP: Make sure to renew your domain as soon as it expires. Also if you have domains that you are not using at the moment but do not want to let them go, park them and you can get paid. Sedo.com is a good place to do this.

Decided to Blog about some things going on in the News and Media right now. I do have some Topics I do want to share either as a Blog Post or Article but after having to work a hectic Schedule last week at work I thought I would just discuss a little lightly right now.

1) HOLIDAYS - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. A lot of Business Gurus are taking the time to get ready for the Holiday Season to Market their Business, Products or Services to those who need extra cash for the Holiday Season.

2) POLITICS - A lot of Politicians are getting ready for the next Elections and most news is about Debates, whether Online or Offline. The next Election for President is in 2008. MySpace is bringing more visitors using this kind of Marketing.

3) BLOGGING - Blogging is getting very BIG and very Popular, especially since the Explosion of Web 2.0 or also known as Social Media. One of the best new ways to get Traffic, Visitors and Sales. Also BlogRush.com, which has shunned millions of Blogs, for no real reason, normally for keeping Spam Blogs.

4) CELEBRITY GOSSIP - Britney Spears is a #1 Story right now. I make sure I check TheSupercial.com everyday for latest celebrity news.

5) GOOGLE - Making most Internet Marketers fear their Google Ranking with the recent change of how Google will be doing their Page Rank.

I am going to use my Biz Blog as an experiment also to make a great Successful Blog. I am making a mental list of all the things a Successful Blogger will need for my upcoming Successful Blogger series, and there is a lot.

Also for my Travel Blog, I had wanted to do a more focused approach to get traffic and Travel Booking Sales. I already write articles but they are not for the travel booking link. But I do have somewhat of a plan set aside for my Travel Blog.

I had 2 more articles published at EzineArticles.com . I am going to be more focused with my Articles also.

Well this last week I had been focusing on Article Marketing and Blogging. I am using this Blog as a way to figure out new services to implement to Promote my Travel Blog. Although I have not been Updating my Travel Blog frequently as of yet I have been looking at various ways it can be Promoted.

I also noticed all the SUCCESSFUL Blogs share the same format. Which I am still trying to figure out what that is. Its very interesting. Most of them are hosted also on WordPress. I do have a WordPress Blog, and I am using for my Travel Blog.

Tips for Choosing a Dot Com

*Make sure your domain name is unique. You can only have so many 'Work From Home' title domains. In being unique, make sure that the domain name makes sense and represents what kind of business you are in.

*Make sure you actually use dot COM. People are more likely to remember a .COM Domain than .INFO, .NET etc...Especially keep in mind, when they see your domain one time from an Advertisement and try to remember it later, they will more likely to type in .com in the search bar than any other extension.

*Make sure it is memorable. I have a domain titled DirtPoorNoMore.com, it captures people's attention and wonders what you are promoting.

*Use your own Name in the title. I have PLENTY of .Coms with my name in the title, it just makes it easier in making up a name and making it my own. Some Examples: JackiesFamousJerky.com, JackiesGPT.com, JackiesCruiseTips.com, JackiesTravelDeals.com. It really flows, but of course it also depends on your own name.

*Be sure to not use numbers in place of real words, it can confuse the people when they later try remember your domain and they may give up searching for it.

*Take advantage of the Online Thesaurus when coming up with a name.

I had just signed up for it tonight and I am so HAPPY I did! :) I had been meaning to get more involved in Social Media & Social Networking Online. Well, MyBlogLog has all the Social Media networks all available in one place. I had added this Blog specifically and also linked all my other Social Networking sites with MyBlogLog and will be adding more Social Media sites as I go.

Whats also amazing about this site, is how quickly people find you and read your Blog. I will be going through the site more thoroughly in the next couple of days and see how I can get the most of it.

I love that movie. It mocks everything I hate about working for someone else.

My FAVORITE Quote from the Movie is from Peter, the main character, when he says "We weren't meant to spend it this way. Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day, filling out useless forms and listening to eight different bosses drone on about about mission statements."

AND ITS SO TRUE! Hey, though, if you Love your Job...Kudos to you. But for me and others, the time is NOW to escape the Rat Race. Keep in mind though, when you decide to make this move, that it will take hard work and consistency.

I was watching Office Space this weekend and about all the cliches of working for someone else such as Commuting to work, stupid Office Politics, having to go to work when you don't want to, changing desks, mandatory overtime, etc...ANYWAY

One of the questions that was asked is...What would you do if you had a Million Dollars? The main character Peter had asked his fellow co-workers that question because they said that if whatever you chose to do is what you are supposed to do with your Life.

If I had a Million Dollars I would own Multiple Businesses including Brick & Mortar, pursue my Dream of Singing (but privately) and kind of follow the trends of most Millionaires, like building my own Empire. I guess I would still be doing what I am doing now. I am also interested in Fashion Design. I had been interested in that as a teen also. I just like alot of things. I want to Invest, take care of Family, Donate, etc...

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU HAD A MILLION DOLLARS?

Why do some People Struggle in Business?

And others fly right through it...it boggles the mind. I sometimes I find myself struggling and I hate it. I don't think I am the 'struggling' type and I feel I have enough knowledge in my Brain to build an Empire but I am learning and slowly picking up speed.

I think its hard for some and easy for others because some have more confidence, some have already been in similar situations liked worked in Sales or had other Businesses like Brick and Mortar type Businesses such as Restaurants, Mortgage Firms, etc...

A lot of people say it just takes time really. I believe that but having doing this or attempting to do it for 7 years (since I was 18 years old but with some personal life happenings in between) I would think that my time should already be here. And it will come soon.

Anyone else who feels like they are struggling, remember like Dory in Nemo says "Just Keep Swimming, Keep Swimming"

Little Checks

I love getting Checks, its so unexpected when I do get them though. I usually get them from JD Premium Products and MLMPowerMarketing. But today I got one surprisingly from a new Affiliate SFI. Which is a company I don't actively Promote right now. I just have it for reference and because I like the way their site is set up.

What I really want is a couple of GREAT BIG Checks every month. Now time to work on Business...

Writing an eBook to Promote your Business

Today I came across a Post on someone who had Promoted their Business by Giving away a Free eBook. I was Intrigued. I see a lot more Network Marketers doing it in order build their Team for their Business.

See the concept of the eBook is to give good information to future or possible Prospects. They are satisfied with your information, so they want to learn more about YOU and when they do they discover your Business and think, hey I like this person, I like the information they have provided me and hey I am interested in their Business and sometimes join. If they decide not join you are still building your list. :)

I plan to write an eBook, not clear what to write about but I will work towards it.

Speaking of eBooks I came across a good one today by Jack Bastide, another Network Marketer who uses his eBook to Promote himself and his Business and provide Good information in the process...

At first, I was too tired to...but then I took a Power Nap and a Shower and DID IT! You have to be CONSISTENT and I am not going to Stop but keep going! I cannot wait to see the Results! I REALLY want to be FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT AND I WILL BE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT!!!
