So who’s telling the truth? Obama or his critics?

President Reagan opposed socialized medicine because it does not lead to choice. It is just another means for the government to take away your liberties and to tell you what you can and cannot do with regards to your health care needs.

Reagan’s words are as fresh today as they were then.

Let’s find out her role in approving the enhanced interrogations techniques on those captured enemy combatants!

With the announcement by Donald Trump today that Miss California, Carrie Prejean gets to keep her crown, the manufactured controversy surrounding her honest answers to that sodomite, Perez Hilton’s, question on gay marriage and the surfacing of nude pictures on the internet, will hopefully come to an end.

Kudos to Donald Trump for seeing the bigger picture and for seeing through the not so subtle attempts by the mainstream media and the homosexual activists, to villify and dethrone Miss California.

I love Donald Trump’s zinger about President Obama holding the same view as Miss California’s! “It’s the same answer the president of the United States gave,” said Trump. No kidding! How come Perez Hilton does not call the President on his stance on gay marriage? How come no one in the mainstream media ever said anything that Miss California’s view on marriage is no different than that of the President’s, Hillary Clinton’s and more than half of the people of California who voted for Proposition 8?

I can just picture tomorrow’s TV morning shows …. how disappointed those libtards on CBS’s Morning Show and those at NBC will be by Donald Trump’s decision to allow Miss California to keep her crown. They were so gleeful this morning when new nude pictures of Carrie Pejean surfaced! As for David Shuster of MSNBC, I wished he had choked on his vomit!

There’s one thing that is just so predictable with these liberals. They talk about tolerance and free speech, but only if you agree with them.

To many followers of Obama, he is the messiah, the Obamessiah. So is it any wonder that this false messiah, offering hope and change, would find it necessary to cover up the name of the real Messiah near the spot he is speaking to his teleprompter?

Don’t know what I am talking about?

How about this story reported by CNSNews.com - Georgetown Says It Covered Over Name of Jesus to Comply With White House Request?

If Obama objects to signs and symbols reflecting Christianity near him, he should not have spoken at a Catholic University. But then again, he has to cover up his ass after claiming that America is not a Christian nation.

So now he has to put to rest that niggling suspicion that some people have about him being a secret Muslim. Hence that speech, held at Georgetown University and making references to the Sermon on the Mount about building something on a rock …

No, of course the false messiah doesn’t want to share the stage with the name of the real Messiah behind him! There’s only room for one messiah at a time! And yes, he’s the one we’ve been waiting for!

Yeah. Right.

Someone on the radio said this morning - give Eric Holder, the new attorney general, six months, and see if he won’t be replaced.

What was all that talk about the country being a nation of cowards where the subject of race is concerned?

I agree with Rush Limbaugh today, he, Rush, is no coward. Look what his reference to race with regards to Donovan McNabe got him? Cries of racism!

Want to know who the racist is? Jeremiah Wright and ilks like him! And guess who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church pew, for 20 years and soaked all that in? Obama, you betcha!

And when Eric Holder says we are a nation of cowards, he is actually saying we are cowards because we don’t agree with his view of how the subject of race should be treated! And that is treat minorities and their rights with liberal kid gloves, and bend over backwards to address their perceived grievances.

I like Ward Connerly’s reaction to what Eric Holder said.

The old saying, “be careful of what you wish for,” applies here.

In characterizing the American people as “cowards” for not openly discussing their attitudes about race, the attorney general seems to be be anxious to provoke a dialogue about the subject. Yet, there is no evidence, based on his presidential campaign, that President Obama wants to have such a discussion.

Moreover, it is difficult to have such a discussion when some with differing views are harshly and publicly attacked for their views. For example, when asked about my initiatives to end race preferences, candidate Obama labeled them as those “divisive Ward Connerly initiatives.” Such characterization is hardly consistent with the view that we should openly put our views about race on public display.

I also believe the attorney general is out of step with the majority of Americans when he implies that the source of and solution to most social disparities is race. I believe most Americans are no longer content with this line of thinking and its ultimate conclusion of race-based solutions to resolve these disparities.

I am sure there are lots of black people like Ward Connerly who feel the way he does about Holder’s speech.

Besides being a dunder head, Ms Pelosi is a partisan hack who takes every opportunity to bash Bush. So the financial crisis is the result of Bush’s failed economic policy, eh? And the financial crisis is a result of there being no regulation, no supervision on the markets, eh?

Seven years ago, America saw the face of evil. Let us NOT forget who and what did that evil is and was. Debra Burlingame, the sister of Capt. Charles Burlingame, pilot of American Airlines Flight 77 which crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11, fears that as time goes by, the American public will “misremember” the event and remember it as just one of the many disasters that the country faces with some loss of lives.

There is a disturbing phenomenon creeping into the public debate about all things 9/11. Increasingly, Sept. 11 is compared to hurricanes, bridge collapses and other mechanical disasters or criminal acts that result in loss of life, with “body count” being the primary factor that keeps it in the top spot of “worst in the nation’s history.”

Misremembering is as dangerous as forgetting. If we must know one thing, it is that the Sept. 11 attacks were neither a natural disaster, nor the unfortunate result of human error. 9/11 wasn’t the catastrophic equivalent of a 3,000-car pileup.

The attacks were not a random act of violence or insanity. They were a deliberate and brutal act of war committed by religious fanatics engaged in Islamic jihad against the United States, all non-Muslim people and any Muslim who wishes to live in a secular society. Worse, the people who perpetrated the attacks have explicitly told us that they are not done.

Sept. 11 is a date that comes and goes once a year, but “9/11″ is with us every day. The body count keeps rising - Bali, Riyadh, Istanbul, Madrid, Beslan, London, Amman.

We now clearly know that the 1993 World Trade Center bombing was part of the holy war against America. When we previously dismissed this as a random attack by crazy men and declared ourselves lucky that “only six lives were lost,” we effectively disarmed ourselves. Eight years later, six became 3,000. While the comparison to other “tragedies” may help us cope with what has befallen us, we must resist being glib and intellectually careless.

Our fellow human beings were not “lost” in 1993 or on 9/11. They were torn to pieces. We must not give the enemy any quarter. We must confront the reality of their acts.

Full article here.

We were in Kota Bharu, Kelantan recently and it happened to be durian season. Durian is very cheap in Kota Bharu compared to in Miri, my home town.

When Zawi, my blogger friend, brought us to a market in Kota Bharu, Doug and I couldn’t resist eating a durian there and then. Most hotels do not allow durian to be brought into the room because of the foul stale smell of durian that can permeate through the whole hotel, so eating the durian at the market was the simplest solution to the problem!

I told my mother about how cheap the durians were in Kota Bharu and she was so envious! In Miri, they weigh the durian and a good durian would usually cost more than twenty ringgit each and there’s no guarantee that the one we bought would be any good!

This is the durian that we paid for and ate. It only cost eight ringgit fifty sen (about US $2.50). It was delicious!

I snagged this picture from Zawi’s blog. We were too busy eating the durian to take a picture of ourselves eating the durian. I love durians but unfortunately it gives me gas. But this time, the price for having to deal with gas was worth paying.

Did you watch the Saddleback Church Civil Forum of the two presumptive presidential nominees? I watched some of it and saw a replay of some of the highlights of Obama’s and McCain’s interview.

What is clear to me is that Obama is indeed and empty suit with a very thin resume. The office of President is not an entry level position but Obama whose ego is apparent in most of his speeches has been caught lying about his position on abortion and his so called reaching across the aisle and working with John McCain on ethics and campaign finance reform.

His comments today asking John McCain not to question his patriotism sounds juvenile and shows someone with a very thin skin, desperate to show the world that he has what it takes to become president. John McCain is right when he said, he has never questioned Obama’s patriotism but has indeed questioned his judgment.

People are learning more and more about Obama and the glow surrounding him seems to be dimming if the latest polls are anything to go by.

McCain would be wise to choose a running mate that has a proven conservative track record if he wants to keep the gains he made at the Saddleback forum.

Some years ago, I read a story by a journalist recounting why some of his Indian relatives wanted to emigrate to the US. One of the reasons they gave was they wanted to move to a country where the poor are fat.

The following story by NPR illustrates that point rather well. I do not want to sound heartless but I think going without meat could be one of the best things that the Nunez family can do for themselves!

If NPR is trying to make us feel sorry for folks like the Nunez in Ohio, I think they fail miserably once people see how well fed they look!

Full NPR story here.
