I’m at a turning point on my current project where I feel settled after a few months and things have become much easier. After 2-3 months you often get to that point where you know the clients and your team really well, understand peoples’ working styles and motivations and are familiar with the terminology and operational processes involved.

I’m starting to feel like my presence and work here is really helping things change for the better. I still have some way to go before I move off the project but it sounds like I might be extended for a month or two. Being extended once you’re on a project can happen sometimes for a number of reasons. It really helps if you’re open and flexible to changes like that – which at this point in my life it’s really easy to be, and I’ll just plan to stay and enjoy the Midlands for a bit longer.

The other big thing this month was pulling together my year’s feedback and personal review against annual objectives, as March marks the end of our performance year at PwC. My People Manager (coach) will then take this information into what we call a moderation meeting, which determines your end of year rating and performance against your peers. I’ll receive the outcome of this in June, but it’s also a good time to start thinking about my objectives for next year.
