[NEWS] Inverse Featured @ MySpace Video & New Digital Release

Coming off of their recent fan-fueled victory at MTVu’s The Freshmen competition, Inverse is making a splash again with their Donlee Brussel-directed video for “So Far”. The clip is now being featured at MySpace Video along with a few industry heavy hitters – definitely a good look for the cali-duo. If you haven’t see the video already, be sure to swing by the page and leave a comment.

In other news, QN5 is excited to announce that BOTH Inverse releases are now available at iTunes & Amazon. The album-length So Far (The Collection) features the title cut, along with production by Kno, M-Phazes and more. Hell, even Tatyana Ali is on it. Underground Music Awards represent one of the rare ceremonies where independent artists are honored, and where the people who actually support the artists – the fans – pick all the winners. Mr. SOS’s album release party for HILTSWALTB at Apache in Atlanta went off without a hitch. Along with the great turnout, the vibe was on point and the music even more so. Kno & Deacon came through to show their support, as well as Cashmere The Pro and Chapter 13. VOTE NOW FOR INVERSE @ MTVU’s ‘THE FRESHMEN’

Finally! QN5 is proud to present the first official music video from Inverse, entitled “So Far.”. This song was taken from their 2008 release So Far (The Collection), which will be re-released digitally via QN5 Music on July 6th. (So True Now Available Here). The track itself was produced by Oren Yoel and also features hip hop violinist, Paul Dateh, who recently laid strings on Mr. SOS’ “The Balance”.

This clip was directed by Donlee Brussel (who’s also directed the video for Louis Logic’s Spork Kills project) and was shot guerrilla style in various parts of Los Angeles over two days last winter. The video is currently nominated for rotation at MTVu’s The Freshmen contest this week. Since y’all did such a bangup job with Substantial’s “It’s You” video last year, Inverse is counting on you show your support! Remember, you can vote as many times as you want!

[VIDEO] Mr. SOS - Welcome To The Future (Chew Fu’s Bionic RMX) - Motion-Text By Allan Corbett

Super-designer and senior blue schooler Allan Corbett of TheTwoofHearts.com has created another nifty motion-text video for Chew Fu’s remix of Mr. SOS’ “Bionic”. As the designer of the single’s cover, it’s interesting to see how the concept has developed here on video. For those of you who remember, he also animated a text-video for Substantial’s “Sign Language (f/ Extended Famm)”. Here’s some background on the video from the man himself:

“An exercise in a After Effects which I’m hoping to be using a lot more of in the future, I’ve got some ideas for projects. I felt it was a good song to attempt for two reasons: it doesn’t have too many words to animate and it has a thumping bass line and I really wanted to incorporate a visualiser effect. This could turn out to be the After Effects equivalent to lens flare but hopefully not.”

Hey Blue Schoolers! We know everybody is excited about the QN5 Megashow and so are we! While the buzz online has been amazing and tickets are moving quickly, getting the word out on the physical streets is CRITICAL to the success of the show.

QN5 is kicking off our flyer distribution campaign for the show and need as many hands on deck as we can get to help us promote. We’re looking for high-energy, outgoing, dedicated volunteers in the NYC area to help us spread the word, move flyers and get people as amped for the Megashow as we are. If that’s you, then don’t hesitate to sign up to volunteer.

Substantial & Chew Fu were recently commissioned to retool Daft Punk’s “Make Love” by popular music blog Sheena Beaston for a collaborative project to remix the entirety of the Human After All album. Remix After All was created when 10 popular and acknowledged music blogs got together to create an unofficial remix album for public distribution, each choosing a producer they think would fit best to remix their chosen song. The result here is salaciously smooth “refix” with Substantial taking the reins vocally as he waxes poetic on the topic of love, underscored by Chew Fu’s expert-texturing of the original Daft Punk melody with soulful saxophone riffs. This is a treat any Daft Punk/QN5 fan will appreciate.
