I know knew exactly where to go and take the second short-cut to the camp, and although in two minds, luckily I did.
Half-way down the last stretch Daisy started to complain of being empty! I had no idea how far to go, and I also had no choice but to

Serendipity Experience (Part Four - The Second Swim Spot)

After being on my way I again enjoyed various well planned routes between the trees and semi-forest areas of the farm. It must be said that somewhere between these set of roads I was supposed to take a short-cut and head back to the camp, but this never happened and I think I somehow missed the turn-off point. I never had the need to turn back as the roads ahead kept on being enjoyable and

Serendipity Experience (Part Three - The Dam)

Okay, then it was back on the road again. From hindsight I can tell you that the trails went pretty smooth. All the trails were set out pretty straight forwards, which made it a pleasure to ride. The roads were no challenge for Daisy, but still very enjoyable. The next stop was “the dam”.

The dam is also a swim spot, perfect to stop and to take a long rest, also a beautiful site. The map guided us smoothly to the trail starting point. A few hundred metres from the camp we already encountered the first obstacle, namely a long piece of grassland road submerged in water and mud. After this the ice was broken and although it was nerve wrecking at first, we settled down quite comfortably for the rest of the trail. Date: 7 – 9 May 2010, Late Autumn

So the first set of trails I’m planning on is a place called Serendipity Eco Trails – a bushveld farm called Tierkloof, somewhere between Modimolle (Nylstroom) and Mookogopong (Naboomslpruit) in the Waterberg Massif in Limpopo province. It is about 1½ hours from Pretoria (km).
