Can he put up the show at a clandestine location. And will the cast even show up, given that the Festival could blackball them from working in New Burbage ever again?

Meanwhile, Richard searches for a new Artistic Director, but is he about to turn to the Dark Side?

Richard is riding high on at very least the reviews of “East Hastings.” The buzz may get killed, however, as the Lear comes to its premiere. Charles is still very erratic, although the heroin still works wonders for him. After an awkward Bolivian music interlude, Geoffrey (on the verge of weeping in public) makes Big Dick go out and cancel the opening.

This week in New Burbage, Charles continues to have performance difficulties, and continues to offend or insult pretty much everyone he acts with. Tensions continue between the dramatic and musical companies, but when Paul and Sophie attempt a prank, Paul has a potential change of heart. Inside the rehearsals of “East Hastings,” Richard tries to take initiative, but is initially shut down by Darren. After Richard returns with specific ideas (and a flowchart), Darren reluctantly agrees to try the show with Richard’s tweaks, at least once.

Ghostlight Podcast Season Three, Episode One “Divided Kingdom”

It’s back to New Burbage for the third and final season of “Slings & Arrows!” Geoffrey, Richard, and the rest of our troupe should be basking in success. The festival has been saved from financial disaster. Geoffrey’s “Macbeth” has just wrapped a run on Broadway. There is a new and exciting season fast approaching, and “King Lear” can have a big-name Canadian Actor and a special effects budget.

But Geoffrey’s psyche has thrown uncontrollable public weeping into the mix. He is unable to get his head into the game with Lear, and with choosing from a broad range of talent for his lead. Richard is struggling with living like a successful man, and an unexpected bad date throws his whole raison d’etre into question.

Throw in Darren Nichols directing a major stage musical, and you just know it is going to be a certain special, uncomfortable fun.

Darren and his cast definitely wind up feeling something. Henry returns to the role of Macbeth, but Geoffrey and the cast conspire to make him play the role with the blocking Geoffrey intended. After a sponsor’s speech turns unexpectedly emotional, Geoffrey and Ellen reassess their relationship.

Ellen is forced to get financial with Revenue Canada, and meanwhile the festival’s finances suffer further downfall under Froghammer’s ad onslaught. Darren Nichols gets his brain way too far around Romeo and Juliet. The possibly pseudonymous Lionel Train almost rehearses his reading and dates Anna in the meantime. Henry Breedlove is an ****, Juliet gets her Romeo, and Ellen’s brother-in-law itemizes her deductions.

No matter, reborn-in-Berlin or not, pretension is sure to follow. Revenue Canada is coming for Ellen, as the thin veneer of denial over Oliver’s return is shattered and she begins to choose up sides in contentious debate over the aforementioned work…

Hear as we discuss the World’s Oldest Interns, Mr. Archer’s rage, and what’s-her-name from Season One (or that boat movie?) And did Geoffrey blow up his Ikea furniture, or did we just get confused?

It’s Christmastime in New Burbage! The festival is struggling, but the Minister of Culture has a Christmas gift – oh wait, no, a loan. Yep, people don’t have that much of a pottymouth when it is a gift. So the festival is rebranding and wacky marketing firms don’t come around everyday.

Geoffrey & Ellen are settling in for relative domestic bliss, Christmas tree and all. But Geoffrey is stuck while working on Macbeth, despite boxes and boxes of Oliver’s notes. When he finally consults the notes, then Nahum’s declaration may have come true. Does mere production of this show “open the door to the other world and beckon them?”
