I’m getting a lot of questions from potential customers asking whether their Tamiya Buggies and cars are going to fit into the 1/10th DirtBag. The answer is, our DirtBags will fit ALL Tamiya 1/10th Buggies, and ALL 1/10th Touring Cars. For owners of Tamiya models such as the Monster Beetle, Lunch Box, Clod Buster, Midnight Pumpkin or Bull Head, please watch this space as we’ll have a dedicated bag for you guys shortly.

As a quick reference though, I’ve put together the following compatibility list to help you out:

TA-05 (All Variants)

FF-03 (All Variants)

DF-01 (All Variants)

We will update this list as soon as we’ve been able to confirm compatibility with other makes & models. If you wish to be 100% sure, the dimensions of the 1/10th Scale Buggy DirtBag are L: 400mm x W: 300mm x D: 110mm.

Please bear in mind that the bags are not designed to enclose RC cars fully. They’re designed to fit snugly around the car covering the wheels and part of the sides. This allows air to circulate around your car, reducing corrosion, sweating and prolonging the life of your RC Cars components.

Flush out the motor can and armature or rotor regularly with motor cleaner to keep them as free from debris as possible. The best time to do that is when reassembling your motor after a rebuild or changing brushes and springs. Also, don’t forget to lubricate the bearings & bushes before you reassemble too. Plus it’s a good idea to check for excessive wear and replace badly worn bearings before your reassemble the motor. Doing this regularly will prolong the life of your RC Car motor no end!

Always make a note of the orientation of the brush springs (+/-) when you strip down or rebuild a brushed RC Car motor. Note the spring tension too, so you can put everything back exactly as it was! Replace springs as and when required or when fitting new brushes to ensure optimum performance.

Don’t forget, hard springs create more torque but less rpm, which is great for off road, while softer springs give you greater top end rpm but much less torque. This should be fine for racing on asphalt.

Advancing the timing on a motor will deliver a higher top end RPM (Speed) at the expense of lower rev torque, whilst retarding the timing will achieve a lower top end speed but much higher torque at lower speeds.

Adjusting timings can help shave seconds off your lap times or give you much better performance on tracks where more torque is required.

Top Tip – Scribe a mark on the motors end bell and motor can at the optimum + and – timing settings so you can quickly change back to them when you need them.
