5 Ways to get on point after the holidays

We could use some time to get back on track after this holiday rush. First we had Christmas and then New Year's. It has been a very long haul for me but here are 5 tips to help you get back on track.

1. Redevelop your bedtime routine. Try to do this as soon as possible to get your body back into the routine.

2. Avoid the sugar rush. Foods with high sugar content may cause your glucose levels to rise and drop to fast. Be sure to limit your daily intake of high carbohydrates.

3. Laugh. Laughter is by far the best medicine that is for free. Watch and old movie or call a friend.

4. Meditation. Try to find a quiet area that you can concentrate in to meditate. Sometimes, I have to get in a quiet area and listen to soft music.

5. Work out. Moving your body with walking, exercising or grooving to a nice song can help relax tired muscles.

We all love a great savings and the Christmas holidays is definitely one of them for me. Here are a few ways to help you with saving for your Christmas holiday shopping needs this year.

* Make a list and try to stick to it ( notice I said try). Creating a distinctive list will help you pick up the items you need as you are out shopping or shopping on the internet.

* Create your budget. Once you have decided how much you will spend on gifts this year, then you will also know who will receive gifts and who will not. If you can't afford to buy gifts, consider a swap or an exchange where you are destined to receive something in return.

* Just buy for kids. If you truly can't afford the adults, buy for the children instead.

* Create your own personal coupons. These coupons can be for a free night at the movies, babysitting, free lunch, free 10 minute back/neck massage. Be creative!

* Wrap your gifts with magazines or newspapers this year. What a way to recycle right? You will save on deciding what color and bows, etc.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day can mean different things to each individual. It can mean a time to get together and share stories on what you are grateful for, meeting up with friends, providing charity to those who are in need, etc. Thanksgiving traces it roots back to 1621 celebration at Plymouth which is now present day MA. The initial thanksgiving observance at Virginia in 1619 was prompted by the colonists' leaders on the anniversary of the settlement. The 1621 Plymouth feast and thanksgiving was prompted by a good harvest. Thanksgiving celebrated on the same date by all states was in 1863 by presidential proclamation. The final Thursday in November had become the customary date of Thanksgiving in most U.S. states by the beginning of the 20th century. President Franklin D. Roosevelt after two years earlier offering his own proclamation to move the date earlier, with the reason of giving the country an economic boost, agreed to sign a bill into law with Congress making Thanksgiving a national holiday on the fourth and not the final Thursday in November.

>>Listen to your customers. So many people simply do not listen and hear maybe what they want to hear. Rephrase your customers statements and do not allow for distractions when having a conversation with them. I feel whenever a customer is advising you on what their needs are or seeking your advice, it is your duty to provide them with choices they can choose from and offer great suggestions that will satisfy their needs.
